Daniel Bryan/Undertaker/Sting questions

Hello

Ok, the rumors have Vince wanting a big moment for Bryan at Wrestlemania, so the whole stadium does 'YES' in unison. Some questions:

1. I think the only three realistic opponents for that to happen would be HHH/Brock/Undertaker. Out of those three, which one with your 'mark' hat would you most like to see?
2. If the undertaker is Bryan's Wrestlemania opponent, do you Bryan would be a good choice to end the streak at this stage?
3. If Bryan does end the streak, would that make future wrestlemania matches for Undertaker vs Brock/Cena less appealing do you think?
4. Whilst i have no appetite for Sting vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania, i do think a fit and healthy Sting wrestling for a year could be a boon to the WWE. Matches vs Brock/Batista/Cena/Orton/Punk/HHH/Bryan would be fresh match ups, and depending on the related stories, could also be good matches/draws for some B-level ppvs. Do you agree?

1.  Probably Undertaker, but it won't happen.

2.  He's one of the few where it wouldn't be wasted because he's seemingly bulletproof at this point.

3.  I think if the streak did end, Undertaker would just call it a career.

4  Sting has very limited appeal, and a big match at Wrestlemania is just about it.  TNA pretty much killed his drawing power by making him a regular guy instead of a special attraction.

Comments

  1. I think the biggest 'yes' moment there could be would be Bryan overcoming all the odds in the main event vs Randy Orton and taking the title clean in the middle of the ring.

Plus that's the only use for Orton I'd have any interest in. And let's be honest the newly unified WWE World title match has to end the show after the big deal they made about uniting them.

It would be the perfect ending to the Bryan/Authority story and then allow hopefully for some great Bryan/Lesnar matches after Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  2. All I care about at this point is Punk or Bryan(or both!) having an amazing match with whatever opponents they're in there with. If story or character get advanced, that's just a bonus.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Haha...Bryan is not ending the streak.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Personally I'd like to see a Punk Vs. Bryan where Punk's hand is forced into beating his friend in order to get his hands on Brock or Heyman or someone else.

Or I'd like to see Brock V. Taker and Bryan Vs. Cena and Punk can wrestle Randy Orton.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Eh. There's starting shit then there's taking cheapshots at people then skating away as fast as he can. Crosby has been in six fights in his NHL career.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Not soon enough.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I kind of morphed into a fan of hockey, as opposed to a team. I also work for an NHL team, so I suppose they are my rooting interest now.

Its great because I can appreciate Crosby's skill from a distance.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Skating away? That has literally never happened. He always mixes it up. One of his first games back from concussion he was in the middle of a giant scrum.

    ReplyDelete
  9. You daamnnnnn right.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I get that you like him, but I would hardly call a couple of face washes and a shove or two "mixing it up" at all. That's what he does. He dick dances with other people that aren't going to drop the gloves.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I just watched it, pretty funny
    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YAFX_mJPga8

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nooooooooobody cares about Sting.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Dude, theyve tried 2 ofnthese concussion stories the past yea. Big show and hhh. They bpth went nowhere but more importantly they set it up on TV. Setting up wrestling anhles through dirt sheets and websites makes no sense. It aint a work. If it was on tv maybe id consider its a work. Wrestling is a contact sport. Concussions are not impossible to get

    ReplyDelete
  14. It what everyone does in hockey, it is part of the game. But if the best player in the world does it, suddenly it is a problem?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sting needs someone younger and faster who can GO. CM Punk would be a great opponent for him, although I don't know how you get there from here. Maybe Orton could get a good match out of him. That would make decent sense - Orton as the "face of the company" vs the guy who was the face of WCW.

    I'd go:

    Cena vs Taker
    Bryan vs HHH
    Punk vs BROCK
    Orton vs Sting

    That's a hell of a card.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ovechkin does it, but he WILL mix it up with other skaters.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Not anymore, anyway. Not for a long time. I don't even think a Taker-Sting WM match would move the needle at all. 12 years ago, maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Nobody should end it, not Bryan, not Punk, nobody.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Its a problem when you won't back up your shit, yes.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Exactly. It's like the kid in school that sits behind you and flicks your ear then when you turn around and shove him he tells the teacher.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AW3Ta9OAZaI

    ReplyDelete
  22. Or this, fighting the biggest guy in the league: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raRTvO8Lej0

    ReplyDelete
  23. He backs up his shit by scoring an obscene amount of points.

    ReplyDelete
  24. If they're not going to have him take the title at mania then the way they're going to get that reaction is to have HHH tap out clean in the middle of the ring.

I'd much rather see him wrestle Brock though because the match would be 3x as good.

    ReplyDelete
  25. He could always be a stand up guy like Sid!

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4wqR17KrLKw

    ReplyDelete
  26. Did you watch that video before posting it? They don't fight, at all.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Orton's, "There's a skull right there" bit was literally the most entertaining he's been for me in years. YEARS!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, the good thing about Dynamite is he can't just get up and leave the room while you're watching him. So, there's that.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I guess he needs to not get behind the wheel too...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yeah on one of the most loaded rosters in the league. Put him on a bad team and see what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wait, I thought Sid didn't mix it up or back up his shit and skates away?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Crosby named NHL's Biggest Whiner by 52% of the league:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZxS_GR36cQ

    ReplyDelete
  33. Um, he would still be the best player in the world. You do realize Sid has had shit linemates 95% of his career right?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Did you even watch the video? He punched a guy DOWN on the ice (big no-no) and even kidney shotted him then skated away.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Seriously, what is the obsession with ending the Streak?

And, does the average fan even know that Sting is in TNA? Do they even know of TNA?

    ReplyDelete
  36. He was the third man in and was mugging Valabik while he was engaged with another guy. Then he punches him in the balls while he's STILL FIGHTING SOMEONE ELSE. I wouldn't try to use that as evidence of Sid's moxie or toughness.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, it's looking pretty obvious that it's Punk/HHH at Mania, which I like.

I think if Bryan being the triumphant hero closing the show with 70,000 chanting "YES!" is what they now want, I'd go with Brock winning the Chamber to replace Orton as the Authority's champion would be the way to go. We've already seen the beginning stages: HHH and Steph's unsatisfaction with Randy, Brock being welcomed back by HHH and declaring he is going to be champion, etc.

If I were to put on my fantasy booker hat I'd go with Bryan/Bork for the WWE title, HHH/Punk, Batista/Orton and Cena/Taker.

I know what all the various rumors have been but we're barely more than two months out from WM and it's not hard to see it unfolding that way at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Pretty much the most entertaining thing he has done since the RNN updates....

    ReplyDelete
  39. Couldn't they do something like with Stone Cold after the neck injury, keep him on TV but have authority stop him from competing??

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm done arguing with cultstatus. I can tell he's never played hockey or even watches it besides just to call himself a "fan". Anyone, even Penguins fans know about Crosby's pussyness.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Like Biff Tannen from back to the future? Yeah, that would be more in his wheelhouse, and it would be a fun characther (and an extension of the buly gimmick he was doing last year).

    ReplyDelete
  42. ...................I can tell you don't watch hockey. Stop trolling.

    ReplyDelete
  43. He was also third man in, and was punching a player who was being held by someone else. And hit him in the ball bag.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Before the concussion, I really wanted him coming in at #1 and going coast-to-coast to win. Sigh. Maybe give that to CM Punk instead.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Have to be really careful with concussions. I think flying is usually out. I recall a WCW PPV that was destroyed by a few guys like Jarrett and Hart having concussions....

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'd have even been cool with it three years ago, when they did the creepy "2-21-11" spots that were supposedly, according to rumors at the time, ambiguous because they were negotiating with Sting.

    But yeah, ship's sailed.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh no! Random 4th liners think Crosby is a whiner!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I wasn't, that is a definite cheap shot.

    ReplyDelete
  49. "Anyone, even Penguins fans know about Crosby's pussyness."

    wat.

    ReplyDelete
  50. That would be a better thing to do with a heel like Sandow where he could boast he is a Rumble winner but everybody knows he is a fraud...

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'd rather have a heel screw Bryan out of his spot (show Bryan "laid out" in the back) and take his spot to win the Rumble, then have Bryan beat him at Elimination Chamber to get the title shot. I'd be OK with Randy Orton doing this (he can lose the belt to Cena, then beat the shit out of Bryan and take his spot in the Rumble).

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'd go with:

Orton vs Bryan for the title
    Punk vs HHH
    Batista vs Brock
    Undertaker vs Cena

    Screw Sting

    ReplyDelete
  53. Probably not. But if anyone did, he'd be first in line right now. Bryan, Cena, and maaaybe Punk in a rematch are the only three guys with whom I would be able to suspend my disbelief that maybe they'd actually end it.

What they'll have to decide is when Taker decides he's done, is it worth more to give someone that rub and make them an even bigger star, or keep the merchandise dollars rolling in in perpetuity on "Streak" memorabilia, DVDs, etc.

Of course, that's largely going to be Taker's call. He could very well want to pass the proverbial torch.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It's not just Bryan, hell it's not just professional athletes. I've had 14-15 year old students balking to me at their concussions restrictions in my roll as TEACHER, arguing with them about not taking tests or working at computers while they're on their concussions restrictions from school.

But yeah, you're right. A little on the nose.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Name all the all stars that Sid has had on his line. His current ones, Pascal Dupuis, is a career 3rd liner. And Kunitz was a decent player who Crosby elevated all the way to the Olympic team.

    ReplyDelete
  56. The only problem there is that there's NO WAY Orton v. Bryan closes the show.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I hope they started a "NO!" chant when it was announced to the house.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The last time I actually saw Sting on TV outside of TNA was a weird replay of his jesus special.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryJanuary 19, 2014 at 11:27 AM

    Souled Out 2000, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  60. 3. Nothing wrong with odd tweets to get people talking, then tuning into the shows to find out what's going to happen. Although I personally like CM Punk's tweets of all the baseball stadiums he hits in the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  61. That was the one. They had BILLY KIDMAN wrestling three matches that night, so you should be able to figure out how fucked sideways that show was.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think Sting would do fine if used correctly by WWE, which I honestly think they can do.

It's not like people are going to boo the guy because he was booked poorly in TNA. TNA doesn't even exist for 95% of the WWE audience.

    ReplyDelete
  63. It wouldn't stun me, though I still think it's more likely they dump Orton for Brock or maybe Batista as the corporate heel champ.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryJanuary 19, 2014 at 11:28 AM

They had Benoit win the title. That tells you all you need to know right there.

    ReplyDelete
  65. You should post another video of Chara and Ovie not fighting again.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Flying could be out, bright lights out, loud noises out, staring at a computer screen/monitor out, READING could be out.... if it's a serious concussion having him at TV would be a terrible idea.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I love that they knew he was leaving but still put the title on him anyway. Never change, WCW.

    ReplyDelete
  68. If Bryan does close WM with the entire Superdome chanting "YES!", the following Raw might start with a 20 minute "YES" chant to start the show.

    ReplyDelete
  69. That wasn't a bad decision. He deserved to be World Champion. He could carry anything on legs at that point to ****.

    ReplyDelete
  70. 50/50 booking time. Taker drops 3 in a row to HHH, retires jobbing to Nash.

    ReplyDelete
  71. So close to having the WCW champion appear on WWE tv with the belt. Again. lulzwcw.

    ReplyDelete
  72. They didn't *KNOW* he was leaving, they thought giving the belt would keep him there.

    ReplyDelete
  73. He could sell popcorn?

    ReplyDelete
  74. It was on par with the WM 21 Taxi commercial.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I was also a big fan of the Superbowl adds they did.

    ReplyDelete
  76. 99% positive Benoit told them he was leaving, they tried keeping him with the belt and he was like "ok but I'm still leaving".

    ReplyDelete
  77. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryJanuary 19, 2014 at 11:34 AM

He quit the next day. It was a bad decision.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryJanuary 19, 2014 at 11:35 AM

I seem to recall another promotion doing that recently.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I did also. Its such a tougn spot for both the wwe and bryan. Id bet they are considering giving bryan the win or at least making him look lkme a star by going 60 minutes or whatever. Bryan probably really wants to go out there but its not worth his long term health. Its either gonna be bryan or batista and I could see them going with daniel. Just terrible timing

    ReplyDelete
  80. TNA is basically WCW2.

    ReplyDelete
  81. So you think it's a work?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Putting Kevin Sullivan in charge was the bad decision. Trying to tell him they were going to push him to the top and at the same time marginalize his friends was the bad decision. Letting him quit (I mean, he had a contract.... he got an unconditional release and walked into the WWF a month later) was a bad decision.

If they had put a competent booker in charge and promised to treat the Radicalz better, he probably would have stayed.

    ReplyDelete
  83. "If the creative team works this correctly."
    Big if.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Randy KILLS in that segment!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Every ppv ever wil keep me busy for a few months.... but if they want to keep getting $9.99 a month they're going to have to add some other stuff, like JCP, WCCW and Mid-South. IF those things don't hit the air until my time to re-up in August (or preferably June when I'm bored in the summer :), I will be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Personally I'd like to see King Kong Bundy get another shot at the Streak, I think he can do it....

    ReplyDelete
  87. Just hearing him say, "I'm afraid I've got some bad news..." gets a genuine smile from me every time. I thought the gimmick was DOA but it's grown on me huge.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Where has this been reported about the big WM moment? Does Vince want YES! Chants or does he want them close the show. Big difference I'm searching for ways for Bryan to close the show and I just don't see any. Maybe if this Vince vs HHH thing comes to fruition and Bryan ends up being Vinces avatar and makes HHH tap. MAYBE if they go Bryan vs Brock for the title also and Brick taps but I don't see that either.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Thought they gave him the title cause Sullivan took over booking and they figured it would be a show of good faith that Sullivan wouldnt fuck with his career...

    ReplyDelete
  90. Jesus cares about Sting. Sting cares about Jesus. They have a real bromance thing going on there.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Jesus always struck me as more of a Buff Bagwell guy.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Concussion is pretty much the worst thing that couldve happened to Bryan, Id keep him home until close to Mania if I'm WWE...

...They could actually sell the drama of will he or wont he be at Mania....

    ReplyDelete
  93. Yeah, MAYBE Bryan gets a shot at Taker but no, he isn't going to beat the streak. I still think they are waiting for Taker to say he's pretty much done and then Cena will pop that cherry (hopefully turning heel in the process).

    ReplyDelete
  94. Oh geez. Bryan ain't ending the streak. Let's be serious now.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I heard a rumor from back in the day that Jesus isn't a big fan of Goldberg. When asked for comment Goldberg asked "who?"

    ReplyDelete
  96. When I read it I initially thought Vince just wanted the entire arena at Mania chanting Yes. I don't think it said anything about it being in the main event. And they can easily get that reaction wherever they put Bryan on the card.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I think the better question is whether the average fan even know who Sting is period.

I think it's been said, but the only way the guy gets a pop is if he comes swinging down the rafters, and there's no way they're doing that.

    ReplyDelete
  98. When Taker finally decides to retire he should have to defend his streak one last time video game style. He has to take on every one of his WM opponents in a row to get to the final boss of John Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  99. That movie is a bit weird, especially that ending dream sequence.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Is baseball stadium a new term for 'woman' and hits a new term for 'hits with his dong'?

    ReplyDelete
  101. They should do Undertaker and Daniel Bryan vs. Wyatt Family with a "But whose side is Sting on?!?!?!" angle.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I think Batista is a huge mistake. He doesn't need the Rumble win and he doesn't need to win the title at Mania, either. Those things need to go to someone who's going to be with the company for more than one year.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Yea. Any clean win by Bryan will get that reaction regardless of where it is on the card. Reading some of the comments people seemed to be interpreting it as him closing the show. Didn't know if i had missed anything

    ReplyDelete
  104. You realize, as Vince now does, that if Bryan doesn't close the show the main event will have zero heat to it.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Except if it's Cena/Taker.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Amazing how in a week he goes from "WWE is burying Bryan" to "Bryan should/could end the streak" .....

    ReplyDelete
  107. Only if they send in Tamina to represent her dad....

    ReplyDelete
  108. Might as well just give the people Bryan vs Vince....

    ReplyDelete
  109. Sting from the Police would probably get a better reaction in 2014....

    ReplyDelete
  110. What does Jim Neidhart have to do with it?

    ReplyDelete
  111. Its not going to be Cena/Taker.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Bryan could be with the company for another 10 years at a very high level. The guy who lost his world title in 28 seconds becomes the guy who ENDS THE STREAK two years later would make him a HUGE star. There's only one reason to build up a winning streak, and that's to end it. Who better to do it than Bryan.

Of course, I'm still firmly in the Cena/Undertaker or GTFO camp, but Bryan ending the streak wouldn't be as stupid as you're making it sound.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I think you need to spell check sometimes. At least you had the common sense to edit it after I said holy shit.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Hold on, you're questioning who he would need to face for the crowd to chant yes with him? He could be in a singles match with a guy from 3MB and the entire place would still do the chant with him...

    ReplyDelete
  115. probably not. You hear stories all the time of people like RVD, Foley or Nash who would have people come up to them saying they wish they were on tv wrestling still, and them be like "Um, I'm on tv in TNA"

    ReplyDelete
  116. Maybe if he cant wrestle, they have him do a dance off with Fandango so we get the crowd doing YES chants and the Fandango theme...

...yes, the top 16 guy gives ya permission to downvote this....

    ReplyDelete
  117. Good analysis.. Ladies and Buckdiddys only contribution for the day.

    ReplyDelete
  118. They had better bring in Schiavone and Heenan for that segment or GTFO....

    ReplyDelete
  119. I didn't think so but i think they might be moving the pieces around to it. Have Batista win the Rumble to challenge Brock at WM. Punk/HHH. Orton/Bryan and then Cena/Taker.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Cena vs. Taker is the match for the past 3 years which has been the obvious WM 30 main event. Still can't believe WWE isn't going in the direction.

The storyline is so damn simple too. Cena has done everything, won every important title 100 times, but people will still say "yea, but you never beat Taker at WM". Bam. That easy. Money printed, big buyrate

    ReplyDelete
  121. And Cena vs. Undertaker is an idea that Vince wants no part of.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Just keep Hillbilly Jim away from it, he'd ruin it.

    ReplyDelete
  123. That doesn't make sense for Cena's character.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Only two matches I could see Sting having is an Undertaker Mania match and a WWE title match sometime in the summer and then he calls it a career.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Orton could afford to drop a fall to Sting as well, and not be too hurt by it.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Strangely, I could see WWE just acting like Sting was "training", or some other bullshit excuse, after WCW folded. A rare case where them NOT acknowledging the "competition" would probably be for the best.

Remember, it's not like TNA was ever "mainstream", even at it's hottest.

    ReplyDelete
  127. The only way I'd buy into Sting in WWE is if he drops the Joker ripoff act.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I support this simply because it would make TNA come off as such a bush league organization. "We sent sting to the minors to train".

    ReplyDelete
  129. Yeah, I figured someone had said it below. Just catching up here.

    ReplyDelete
  130. He's so over, he's on the brink of Superstardom, just like Magnum. An injury cut Magnum short, so I think he's saying it might happen to Bryan as well.

    ReplyDelete
  131. If you want a 70K-strong YES! chant, just put the title on Bryan clean as a sheet no bullshit to close that months-long saga. It's not rocket surgery.

    ReplyDelete
  132. If Bryan can't win the Rumble, then it should definitely be Punk winning and taking the title belt. Bryan can be Vince's avatar in the Vince/HHH feud and beat HHH at WrestleMania XXX to get the big moment, and set up a huge Punk/Bryan match down the line at Summerslam.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I've really come around on Brock/Bryan at WM for the title. Have Brock F5 Orton then assume his position as corporate champ. Have Bryan win the Rumble (health permitting or win the title shot at EC if need be)? The build and match would be spot on.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I didn't mind the Joker rip off' it was something new for him to do and it was fairly entertaining. But yeah, if he comes into the WWE he should drop that and maybe stick to brooding Crow Sting.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Surfer Sting or GTFO.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Naw, they need to have Undertaker/Bryan/CM Punk vs Flair/HHH/Sting and then everybody can act shocked Sting got turned on by his partners.

    ReplyDelete
  137. It is going to go Orton>Cena>Brock>Bryan I think.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Engaged to a dark-haired valet...

    ReplyDelete
  139. I said that a week or so ago, Brock vs Bryan for the title would be amazing. They could work a tremendous big man/little man match with Bryan having a never say die attitude. Just have them both watch the Sting/Vader fued.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Just starting with the Big Three PPVs and the Monday Night Wars, plus the current PPV schedule, should still do well for that first cycle.

BUT, if we get to late May/June/July, and there's no sign of the older stuff appearing, I'd bet a fair chunk of the subscribers (yes, including myself) would seriously consider NOT renewing past the end of the first six months.

Hopefully they do SOME sort of research/survey after the network is up and running, and see if there's enough demand to justify the various products. Otherwise it could be a painful latter half of 2014 for the network, because after Summerslam the PPVs usually aren't strong enough to hold up the whole deal.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Undertaker would beat Bryan, but they'd start the show with Undertaker retiring and thanking Bryan for one last great bout, during which, yes, the crowd would chant YES the entire segment.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Yeah, and add to that that Brock doesn't need some stupid angle to be over as a killer. Have him win EC and toss a few couches at Miz again, and the heat will be off the charts.

    ReplyDelete
  143. That would be damn near perfect from their end. And I doubt many are asking for the older stuff to be front and center, just for it to be available.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I'm in the middle. I've had Classics on Demand for several years so I've already re-watched a lot of the Raws and Nitros from that era. I agree that the era has aged poorly but obviously loved it as it happened.

That said, since very few people ever subscribed to CoD, I think there's still a ton of people who want to relive them days.

    ReplyDelete
  145. There are a LOT of people who walked away between the slow death of WCW and the final end of Attitude, if the Network can get even just a small percentage (10-15%) of that audience at the beginning it'll find a way to grow.

    ReplyDelete
  146. The match and basic underdog story would be off the charts. Imagine Bryan making Brock tap at WM to close the show. It would be tremoundous. I'm still in the Taker/Cena camp but I'd be more then ok with bryan/brock

    ReplyDelete
  147. I have a feeling they'll have Orton retain and then do a three way, Orton vs Cena vs Brock at EC. Or add three more guys to that in an EC match with Brock winning.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Bryan/Brock, Cena/Taker would be one hell of a WM top two matches.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Mania usually only has 8 matches. 4 of them will be taken up by Cena/Taker/Punk/Bryan/Lesnar/Orton/Batista/HHH in some combo. WWE wants to push guys like Reigns and Big E so you'd figure that takes up 2 more spots. Then you'd think they would do a tag title match this year.

You have a ton of highish profile guys like Big Show, Sheamus, Del Rio, Mysterio, Henry, Christian maybe, Ryback, Ziggler, Miz potentially not having a spot. And I'm probably even forgetting a few more.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Card sounds good but I dont need Orton/Bryan again, Id rather see HHH get his comeuppance and put Bryan over....

    ReplyDelete
  151. Def tops 1.2 million. Throw in some Hogan nostalgia and Punk going over HHH and I'm sold.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Yes it would be, add Punk/HHH and even a returning Batista vs Orton, not a bad card. Even if I wasn't getting the network I would easily pay full price for that card.

    ReplyDelete
  153. The Brock title match is headlining EC, like the Rock last year.

    ReplyDelete
  154. I would also. It just seems like punk/HHH is set in stone at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  155. It's been asked before but how will they be able to calculate an accurate butyrate with the network? I'm guessing they'll be able to tell how many people are watching it on the network. And imagine the shitstorm if they put together that amazing card and on WrestleMania the network starts fucking up.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Was thinking about this. Wonder if they would do like a WM XX super long show. Throwing all those guys into a throw away battle royal or 10 man tag seems like a waste

    ReplyDelete
  157. Yeah, the point I tried to make yesterday, only I managed to mangle it enough to be off-target.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I wish the Money in the Bank match was still at Mania as that would give a bunch of these guys something to do without it feeling forced. And if they cut back on the stupid rap/rock concert and idiotic backstage segments they could fit ten matches easy.

    ReplyDelete
  159. So what's the endgame?

This being a work means the WWE is doing something they have never done before: setting up an angle exclusively via dirt sheets. In doing so, they're costing themselves money by offering refunds at house shows.

What is the perceived benefit and eventual outcome of doing a "Bryan is injured" angle this way as opposed to just posting it on the website, mentioning it on TV and pulling him out of the ring for a while?

    ReplyDelete
  160. My question got in:-)

I agree Bryan doesn't need to be in the main event: it could be like Shawn/Flair, the Streak matches, Macho Man/Ultimate Warrior e.t.c, and be important. It does need the right opponent though and story. I don't think Bray Wyatt or Orton would do.

For Sting, i thought the WCW dvds sold well? I'm sure his TNA run won't be a concern as well. They should definitely do Crow Sting as well.

    ReplyDelete
  161. That's a good point. Even if they calculate iit the way you mentioned, it's not a good format because you don't know how many of those people would have bought it on a stand alone basis like when the calculated previous buyrates. It's gonna be almost impossible to tell how successful WM XXX will be with it being incorporated into the network

    ReplyDelete
  162. But then what do they do with the actual Elimination Chamber match? There's only one big title, the #1 contendor will already be set for Mania. So why not have the title match be in the EC with Brock destroying everybody?

    ReplyDelete
  163. Roman is tops, then Randy, Cody, and Goldie. Everyone else is acceptable or better. Yeah, even Axel.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Back to the Crow ripoff act instead? 50-something surfer Sting ain't coming back either.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Strangely, not this time.

    ReplyDelete
  166. "It's been awhile since we had a crazy pillman type."

If they want one of those, Dean Ambrose is right there.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I only hope he doesn't lose his push, because of it. That might sound absurd, but just look at what happened after Ziggler's concussion.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Yeah I know, unless they are going to count every subscriber who made the six month commitment as a Mania "buy". I think the WWE is going to start caring less about PPV buy rates and more about WWE Network subscribers. That's gonna be the numbers they brag about. I think in the next five years or so you won't even be able to watch a WWE PPV without the network.

iirc, that was when he was faced malenko is a 'catch as catch can' match, where both wrestlers had to stay in the ring. very early in, malenko out of instinct rolled out of the ring and fucked everything up and they had to book on the fly, b/c i believe he was supposed to beat kidman

    ReplyDelete
  170. Are they having a MiTB PPV this year? I don't know if they're going to retire some ideas and put some new ones forward. If that's the case you really COULD put a MiTB match. Failing that, some sort of Tag Team Turmoil match. That'd get eight people right there.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Funniest thing Orton ever done

    ReplyDelete
  172. My 30 card:

    Undertaker vs Cena
Bryan vs Lesnar for the title
    HHH vs Punk
    Orton vs Batista
    Ambrose vs Reigns
Big E vs Del Rio for the unified IC/US title
Wyatt vs someone, honestly not sure who would work in this spot. Jericho would be a great fit if he comes back.

And as for everyone else, I was thinking of a gimmick match. MITB would great but it doesn't make sense. I also thought that the first ever EC match at Mania would be a great idea but again, doesn't make sense because of the PPV in Feb. So here is my idea:

First ever tag team Elimination Chamber match for the titles. 6 teams, if one member of the team is pinned, the team is out.

Goldust/Cody vs Usos vs Real Americans vs Big Show/Rey vs Ryback/Axel vs Sheamus/Barrett(bad ass heel team I just thought of)

And then throw a random Miz or Kofi match in the pregame. I'd buy the shit out of this PPV.

wow, his bit unintentionally shows what a douche he is for all his stupid skull tattoos

    ReplyDelete
  174. It is an option, but I think a straight up 1on1 Brock match is what they are going for. Make the actual EC match a number contenders match for Extreme Rules.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Crow ripoff>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Joker ripoff

also the wwe office ad that ended with hh bringing khali to check vince's prostate

    ReplyDelete
  177. How in the hell does Del Rio end up with the US title? Otherwise, that works.

    ReplyDelete
  178. He doesn't. Big E unifies the titles at the EC ppv by beating Ambrose(which is the rumor).

reigns was awesome with "justice/just us"

and i loved titus's random omega psi phi bark and then leaned back smiling

they missed a golden opportunity by having derrick young sit down and look at her and be like, "nah" and then leave

why are they not airing it?

    get it?

    ReplyDelete
  182. I think it would be pretty nifty if Hillbilly Jim and the Godwins did a legends feud against the Wyatts. It would be a total mark out moment to see Jim reverse Sister Abigail into a bearhug while H.O.G and P.I.G prevent Harper and Rowan from making the save by hitting stereo Slopdrops. They could even have Hillbilly Jim shake the Wyatts' hands afterward and say he respects them for putting up a hard fought match. That would be a great way to have Jim pass the torch and give the Wyatts the proverbial rub by turning them face.

    ReplyDelete
  183. I don't think Hillbilly Jim can fit it into his schedule of killing transients and kidnapping kids.

    ReplyDelete
  184. I'd buy it just based off the top 2 matches. The whole key is Batista and Bryan. You could easily see a scenario where Batista wins the Rumble and gets the match with Brock while Bryan does the Orton thing again or a scenario where Bryan wins the Rumble and they go Bryan/Brock. It'll be a pretty interesting glimpse into Vinces psyche how he proceeds with those 2. Will he ride the wave of what the fans are clamoring for or will he go back to someone who was a former top level guy?

    ReplyDelete
  185. And if he winds up not facing 'Taker at WM, it will be "They're burying him by not having him end the Streak".

    ReplyDelete
  186. I forgot about that one, didn't Punk get stuck in the dessert

    ReplyDelete
  187. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 19, 2014 at 1:12 PM

still here? going to the rumble?

    ReplyDelete
  188. The endgame is a match against Brian Pillman, since his death was a work too. Andy Kauffman will be the special ref.

    ReplyDelete
  189. But they never had a special Sting DVD. Some DVDs have him here and there, but there has been no specific Sting DVD released.

'didn't Punk get stuck in the dessert'

he got stuck in the jello mold!

    ReplyDelete
  191. They better have one.

    ReplyDelete
  192. It does very much actually. He never shuts up about pride and all that shit. Plus he's far into the point that he acknowledges that fans give him shit, so it DOES in fact work with his character
