  1. We really need to make sure we cover every possible way it affects Daniel Bryan

    ReplyDelete
  2. Any doomers in SF going to Kezar to watch the Rumble?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Literally every scenario other then him going over Bray cleanly and then entering and winning the rumble is gonna get shit on

    ReplyDelete
  4. Made an amateur mistake and made dinner plans at 630. I don't think my friend will be thrilled when I tell her I need to rush home to make sure I can make it to the bar to match my lesnar/batista opening match

    ReplyDelete
  5. Rumble music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ6VWYutfHU

    ReplyDelete
  6. This is the first time I've really seen most of the Internet community rally behind 1 guy so much in the Rumble. Don't really recall this before.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hey, if they do emulate Bret in '94, I don't think people will complain. As long as it's not a tie again, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Leaving in 3.5 hours to head to the show. I'm supporting mid-card heel acts and wearing a Wyatt Family shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Bryan not going over in the first match and him tieing the rumble would still get shit on. Didn't Bret lose the tag match iirc in 94?

    ReplyDelete

i might be in the shot when the winner gains magical powers and causes the WM sign to assplode. i'm dead center 2 rows up from the floor

    ReplyDelete
  11. I wonder how many times they hype their app and twitter trends?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Thanks to a fight with some throw away troll I'm now the 4x BoD champion of the woooooooorrrrrrllllld!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm going to watch a classic Royal Rumble PPV instead of ordering the show tonight. The nominees are:

    1990
    1994
    1997

    2005

    ReplyDelete
  16. No 92? I love fucking 97. That's officerfarvas vote

    why aernt you watching tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I follow this PPV and WrestleMania every year. If Bryan doesn't win it will be one of the biggest letdowns in Rumble history. If nothing else I hope the crowd craps on whoever does win.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Did anyone hear about this Velveeta cheese shortage due to Superbowl parties? I've got to run out and get some snacks for my "rumble" party tonight and was just thinking about that. I can't believe people eat that gross shit!

    ReplyDelete
  19. 1 more time and you can do the Booker T 5 time 5 time catchphrase until the wheels fall off it. What thread is the troll battle in?

    ReplyDelete
  20. 2000 and 2001 would like a word with you sir.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This needs a poll.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bray needs to win badly so Im thinking this could work...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yea. I was exaggerating a little but I hope that would be enough to satisfy everyone.. That's all that would really matter as opposed to a throw away midcard match

    ReplyDelete
  24. The "because I'm sure you're not sick of d bry emails yet" thread. Some ass was trying to say hbk was never a top guy or something.

    ReplyDelete
  25. "Hardcore Blog Otter" sign?

"My other car is Scott's Blog of Doom" sign?

    "Caliber Winfield for President" sign?

Make me proud....I don't know your first name...so..Jim.

    Make me proud Jim!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Im hoping Sheamus wins....

    ReplyDelete
  27. Go with 89....spoiler alert ......Big John Studd!

    ReplyDelete
  28. As long as we wins the Rumble people will be happy (well I doubt it I am sure they will find some way to bitch about the booking or something)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Like I said, as long as it's not a tie again. Yeah, Owen kicked Bret's leg out of his leg.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Just saw John Laurinitis step out of the elevator. I kind of feel bad for these dudes. Lobby was packed. Hotel personel thought I was a fan trying to sneak into the elevator.

Pennsylvania is a dry state, so my friends are scouring downtown Pittsburgh for a six pack.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If you're talking about 2001, you've got to start with Drew Carey trying to bribe Kane.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I would like to keep my 55 bucks.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Heading to the show later but right now I'm watching the 2011 edition to warm up.

Cole complaining about internet fans and Daniel Bryan/CM Punk is quite humorous considering the social media lovefest that started later that year.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:27 PM

i dont do signs at shows, sorry

    ReplyDelete
  35. Just watched that Rumble.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I've watched those too much. I want to dip into the lesser-viewed ones from my collection.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wasnt a bad Rumble, I think the Rumble might be better without the WM stip as it allows more people to win it....

    ReplyDelete
  38. Just fucking steal it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well I mean how do you define top guy? I never really heard of him until he popped up on Raw one time as a security officer, and obviously as I grew up I learned he was an amazing performer, but in terms of TOP guys with the MOST name recognition / drawing power to the casual fan, I dunno where he'd fall.

    1. Stone Cold Steve Austin
    2. The Rock
    3. Hulk Hogan
    4. Undertaker
    5. Ric Flair
    6. John...Cena?
    7. Shawn Michaels?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well Scott doesn't rate battle royals, I don't do windows, etc.

    Every man needs a code.

  41. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:31 PM

if i did, would you accept "i'd rather be gleekin' with meekin"?

or "this is in all lowercase just to piss off wnyxmcneal"

    or "forever alone"

    ReplyDelete
  42. Downtown is pretty dead on Sundays. May want to just try the bars or the Fridays by the arena.

    ReplyDelete
  43. There's some cool streaming options on the internet.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Spoiler: there's also porn

    ReplyDelete
  45. A dry state? There's a million places downtown to get a six pack.

    ReplyDelete
  46. "Play it Out and see how it goes?"
    "NPP Can S*ck It!"

    "CAPS_LOCK_MAN IS MY SPIRIT ANIMAL"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Legit lol at the wnyxmcneal one.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'll be watching it with a group of friends for the first time in a long time, so I won't be part of the live thread this time around.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's not dry but there's stringent and stupid liquor control like six packs can only be sold at restaurants.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Correction: Scott doesn't rate Battle ROYALES.

Perhaps a Royale with Cheese, however...

    ReplyDelete
  51. When I moved to western PA, I was elated that there was a 7-11 within walking distance of my sister's place where I was staying... then my spirits were crushed when I found out that they can't sell beer at convenience stores. And there were tables & chairs inside! Who the fuck sits down to eat 7-11 food?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Acting like a child sure does up that precious post count.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Even though she's not my wife, maybe parallax can take her off my hands for a few hours

    ReplyDelete
  54. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:37 PM

threadjack, but on cnn.com, this was a the title of a side news story:

    "A stunner at Australian Open"

admit it, you'd mark if only

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hopefully with how explicitly they've been saying Bryan won't be in the Rumble, they're just trying to fuck with us & they do something like have him attack one of the Wyatt's backstage to take them out and steal their spot.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Worked for Bret at WM10

    ReplyDelete
  57. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:39 PM

they have these gas stations called sheetz here that have a pretty expansive food prep station inside, and the ads on tv try to pimp them as legit places to go and sit down to enjoy a meal

    ReplyDelete
  58. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:39 PM

that fridays is gonna be packed

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'd argue Savage would be on there too due to how inescapable those Slim Jim commercials were.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think he would be on there regardless of the Slim Jim Ads...

    ReplyDelete
  61. A lot of Giant Eagle's sell 6 packs now. Got a 6 of Sam Adams and Angry Orchard in west view last Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:41 PM

there are some pizza places up and down 5th ave right there, so you might have some luck there if they have a liquor license.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Forgot about Savage. I guess because he hasn't been around in awhile?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:41 PM

he's not really downtown, though. he's basically by the strip. but yeah, there are some bars there, too, obviously

    ReplyDelete
  65. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:42 PM

good call, the giant eagle market district 10 min from the arena on center ave sells beer

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sorry but Hogan will always be #1 on that list and it isnt close, even Hogan haters will agree....

And HBK is a top guy in terms of wrestling fans(I think he is the GOAT) but in terms of worldwide recognition, few non wrestling fans would know who he was. Same cant be said for those other 6 and Randy Savage....

    ReplyDelete
  67. Ugh. Take it back. Take it back!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:43 PM

he didnt sell out, he bought in

/antichrist jeff hardy, who ruled, btw

    ReplyDelete
  69. That would mean Bryan is in the WWE Title match at Mania!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I will be apart of the live thread, but will not watch, should be an interesting thread to say the least.

    ReplyDelete
  71. ARRRRGH THE BARBARIANJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:43 PM

Bah Gawd, as god is my witness, Nadal is broken in half!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Right, which I guess is the thesis of my question. Is Shawn a "Top Guy", and what is the accepted definition of such. If it's greatest performer, Shawn is legit number one, but if it's everything else, well, I think he's down a few pegs thanks to poor timing mostly.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I think Jeff Jarrett was the one to say that.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Disqus booted me for not having a verified email earlier this week, missed commenting on a bunch of threads cause Disqus sucks....

    ReplyDelete
  75. Not gonna lie, I kinda dug Heel Jeff with the title in TNA, although very briefly

    ReplyDelete
  76. Yep- pizza Milano and souper bowl being the hot spots.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:44 PM

mix it with salsa and melt that shit up, yo

    ReplyDelete
  78. I've been to Sheetz, I dig 'em. Their food is far better than 7-11, if only because of the greater selection. With the customization offered by the touch screen ordering system you know you're getting it fresh (well, relatively fresh). They still don't sell beer though.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Probably won't be a part of the live thread. Got True Detective to watch tonight :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. So many Rumble endings on YT. So convenient.

    ReplyDelete
  81. The Slim Jim ads give him more name recognition to the casual/non-fan, that's all I was getting at.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Sheamus/Bryan is booked in stone according to all the yahoos on the net, so if Sheamus wins Rumble, he gets title shot. Bryan goes in to Mania as Champ!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I am not a fan of Velveeta...

    ReplyDelete
  84. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:46 PM

Anyone watching the hockey game from Yankee Stadium? That band that layed during the intermission was terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:47 PM

not in pa, i guess. but when i go to concerts in cleveland, there's a sheetz somewhere off the turnpike that has a small cooler that would sell till 1 or 2 am that i and some friends i use to have would stop at

    ReplyDelete
  86. Oh. I can't see any of that happening but I'd definitely take it

    ReplyDelete
  87. Shawn is as much a top guy as Bret Hart was, great wrestlers but not folks that non fans will recognize as much as the top draws...

    ReplyDelete
  88. Take back the lyme he just bought?

    ReplyDelete
  89. Southside Johnny? Yeah, local dinosaurs sent to represent NJ and all wearing Rangers gear, that was fugly.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Your_Favourite_LoserJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:48 PM

it was definitely hardy, b/c i can hear it clearly in my head in his voice

    /no orton

    ReplyDelete
  91. Bret never gave up or got pinned IIRC, the ref stopped it.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Oh of course but he was also on Arsenio back in the day and in a very popular Spiderman film....

    ReplyDelete
  93. I miss the old school promos they would do with that music playing in the background.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:49 PM

The game itself is pretty decent, even though I hate both teams.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I miss Vince doing the coke fueled voice overs

    ReplyDelete
  96. I think Bret's an interesting case because he did have an icon look, popped up in an episode of the Simpsons, beat up Will Sasso, etc, but his career was cut short and he was kind of weird in terms of charisma.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Hamburger, Rol-Tel tomatoes and chilies, a can of stewed tomatoes, velveeta melted, and you have yourself the mother of all dips.

Plus there really isn't a shortage, but the media had nothing better to report on that day I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Devils fan, so I WAS having fun until they pissed a 3-1 lead down the drain.

    ReplyDelete
  99. This is me every pay-per-view. Something happens and I have to cull through real time reaction.

    ReplyDelete
  100. As long as that cheese isnt Velveeta....

    ReplyDelete
  101. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUrkC_VAxz8

    ReplyDelete
  102. I dont think a non fan will know who Bret Hart was. I could ask my Dad who Hulk Hogan or Andre the Giant(another missing from that list btw) is and he would know, Bret or HBK, no way...

    ReplyDelete
  103. Well let's have one shall we?
    http://poll.pollcode.com/6674879

    ReplyDelete
  104. But you were wrong

    ReplyDelete
  105. Haha it was just a quick list off the top of my head, I wasn't trying to be studious, but it works because my mistake is also proving my point.

I could get used to this.

    ReplyDelete
  106. And then Vince trolls the Smarks and jobs Bryan in 18 seconds again.....

    ReplyDelete
  107. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryJanuary 26, 2014 at 12:52 PM

"What's kayfabe?" is always a good one.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I see you creeping up on Mr. Top 16....

    ReplyDelete
  109. Gretchen, Blog Otter is not happening!

    ReplyDelete
  110. While watching the 2011 Rumble I realize how sad it is that WWE continues to employee Mason Ryan, Ezekiel Jackson, Great Khali, and David Otunga but won't cough up some cash to get AJ Styles.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I love Springsteen and they are his buddies but I think they are kinda meh...

    ReplyDelete
  112. He cant work the WWE Styles....

    ReplyDelete
  113. So I might be watching the PPV tonight with my girlfriend and her mom. Her mom likes watching it because it reminds her of watching boxing with her parents who recently died a year ago. The awesome thing about watching it with her is that she believes it's 100% real. She questions it all the time though and I'm always acting oblivious about it. She's a doctor so she's always in fear of the wrestlers whenever they take a hard bump. When HHH suffered a concussion, back in May, she was extremely worried about his health. She started mentioning his chest, which was red at the time, and started screaming at the TV that he was about to have a heart attack. The following day, she called me on my phone. My fucking phone! That she never calls(!), to ask me if I have heard anything about HHH's condition. She's exactly the type of fan that the WWE aspires to look for. Her favorite wrestler? John Cena, of course. Why? Because he never gives up nor sells out his integrity. It's as simple as that.

I look forward to watching the PPV tonight with her. It's her first Rumble so hopefully she enjoys the concept.

    ReplyDelete
  114. A doctor thinks wrestling is real? A doctor doctor?

    ReplyDelete
  115. The WWE is long overdue for a house cleaning. Linda's Senate campaign is over. Hand out some pink slips.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Khali will come out and destroy her thinking its real....

    ReplyDelete
  117. True story. Phd at a refugee clinic

    ReplyDelete
  118. Watching the 2010 Rumble as a warm up... I am legit going to make myself into a Straight Edge savior and open an sXe version of the accountability crib.

    ReplyDelete
  119. 2010 is one of my favorites

    ReplyDelete
  120. You should....absolutely get a video interviewing that doctor about their thoughts on pro wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Nah, too many limes....

    ReplyDelete
  122. It's like a voiceless radio.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Yup good point wnyxmcneal. Shawn Michaels isn't a big star. You're a very smart and person and must know a lot about wrestling.

Seriously if we're gonna clean house with the trolls why am I still seeing shit like this?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Ha, I agree with your thinking. I even forgot about Andre, people will bitch but I think he probably is more recognizable than Austin to a non fan...

    ReplyDelete
  125. She's Cuban and if you know Cubans, they're loud AS FUCK. She goes crazy whenever Brock Lesnar is loose.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Barely even getting into the I-can-save-you routine and just clubbing Zack Ryder in the head with the mic was hilarious, I do remember that Rumble.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Tell her to download the app.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Be sure to thank Chan for that... oh wait you can't because he is gone!

    ReplyDelete
  129. I can act anyway I want towards an illegitimate poster. And you can fuck off bro

    ReplyDelete
  130. Well, the threads help.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Bryan just went from +600 underdog and hes now at -140 to win the rumble. Batista is also +money now too. My body is ready for tonight...

    ReplyDelete
  132. Is he the biggest draw in history? No. Was he a big star (which is exactly what the troll said he wasn't)? If you say no you and your opinions on pro wrestling are invalid.

    ReplyDelete
  133. One of the best Rumble performances, they should have let Punk stay in so much longer

    ReplyDelete
  134. "My body is ready for tonight..."

    That's what she said!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Official cultstatus predictions: Rhodes Brothers over Outlaws, AJ, Brock, Bray, Cena,

Royal Rumble final 4: Reigns, Bryan, Sting, Batista. Bryan eliminates Reigns(who breaks Kane's record) to win.

Suprises/Returns: Papa Shango, Jericho, Sheamus, Sting, Nash.

    ReplyDelete
  136. The funny thing is when I told her Daniel Bryan joined the Wyatts, she legitimately got angry about that. Especially at Bryan because he didn't have the guts to stand up for himself. She didn't see the turn coming and went ballistic. She's on his team again

    ReplyDelete
  137. The guy said he was never a "big star" and that is just silky

    ReplyDelete
  138. If you Touted that shit you'd get on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  139. No shit, definitely should've.

    ReplyDelete
  140. What a wonderful name for a band.

    ReplyDelete
  141. He wrestled the last match on 5 wrestlemanias. He has 3 DVD sets. He was in the biggest stable ever. He's not Hogan, he's not Austin but how can he not be a top guy?

    ReplyDelete
  142. I think he was in the perfect amount of time. 1st half of the Rumble was the Punk angle and the second half was the HBK angle.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Am I forgetting something, or was Jacques Rougeau never in an actual RR match? He always had a mid card match somewhere but I don't think he was ever in the Rumble...

    ReplyDelete
  144. Continuing our conversation from last night my lady friend messaged me and told me to make sure I get caught up on "Girls" for the next time she comes over... I of course said "Sure will do that!" how the fuck did I get to the lying about doing shit I am not going to do phase so quickly?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryJanuary 26, 2014 at 1:03 PM

    Rick Nash?

    ReplyDelete
  146. It was good for comments, no?

    ReplyDelete
  147. Friends found beer. Thanks to whoever suggested Fridays.

They're currently downing Miller Lites. We're watching The Godfather: Part2 in the room and bringing my buddy Bacon up to speed on all the recent happenings via YouTube.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I disagree... he got thrown out by HHH who was like #8

    ReplyDelete
  149. He is a top guy in the world of wrestling, I think he is the GOAT but go out and ask a non fan who he is and Im betting 9 of 10 have no clue....

    ReplyDelete
  150. Support mid card BoD heel acts and wear a Farva shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Well, come on, HHH wanted some spotlight for himself.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Wait is this from a legit book or are you just saying?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Wow those are some pretty bold predictions

    ReplyDelete
  154. So, any odds on the winners?

I'd say Batista 75%, Bryan 25%. I definitely don't think Punk is going coast-to-coast, it's too soon for another Sheamus win, Brock will probably enter but get eliminated by his WM opponent, same with Taker, Reigns MAYBE has about a 1% chance of winning (though he's my early fave for next year)... anyone else I'm forgetting?

Is there anyone else that, realistically, has a shot? Conversely, am I overestimating Bryan's chances? Anyone think that Batista is pretty much 100% certain to win? Will Bryan even be in the match?

    ReplyDelete
  155. He did the same deal at the Elimination Chamber match a month later right? That gimmick was spot on. Plus the shaved head chick with the big rack was pretty bad as well

    ReplyDelete
  156. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzQkkhm3uak

    ReplyDelete
  157. And then Shawn Michaels came in at 10 and it started that storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Shots fired, we have shots fired.

    ReplyDelete
  159. im looking at 5dimes, but this is also being reported at other places too

    ReplyDelete
  160. I'm still holding hope for Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I'll never have anything bad to say about Serena's huge boobs.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Me too, man. Me too.

    ReplyDelete
  163. He is a big star in wrestling, guys like Hogan, Andre, Rock and to a point Austin are well known stars by non fans though....

    ReplyDelete
  164. Thats really funny!

    ReplyDelete
  165. I am watching right now. HBK is not in yet and they are well past 10

    ReplyDelete
  166. Depends on how you define top guy!

    ReplyDelete
  167. SERENA that was her name....hello google search...

    ReplyDelete
  168. She was hot as hell with the long hair, and still pretty hot bald.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Countdown to number 30. 3,2,1 lights go out. Sting's Crow music plays, lightning sound effects, and the girls from Starrcade say THIS.IS.STING.

    Crowd would meltdown.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Definitely. Odds Punk fit her in at some point...3-1? Even money? lol

    ReplyDelete
  171. Agreed... but I don't see it happening

    ReplyDelete
  172. ::interrupts your promo and just points to wrestlemania sign::

    ReplyDelete
  173. You're right I forgot about guys like McIntyre and DiBiase came in first. Point still stands though.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I laughed actually, just for the image of someone wearing an officerfarva shirt

    ReplyDelete
  175. Yep. Keeping the faith here.

    ReplyDelete
  176. It's been awhile since we a great number 30 entrant. Probably Cena in 08.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I don't know why, but when Shawn gets nearly eliminated by Swagger, I just like that camera shot.

    ReplyDelete
  178. "It's been awhile since we had a great number 30 entrant"

    ReplyDelete
  179. Yeah, IIRC he never was. It was sort of funny that WWE released a video of the top 100 Rumble eliminations and included him backdropping Koko B. Ware over the top rope in their singles match in 1991. Dumb little error by whoever put that video together.

  180. Hurricane trying to chokeslam Austin and HHH is also in this discussion. And should probably close the discussion out.

  181. I feel like this Rumble is ripe for some really screwy shit to happen. I feel like if Bryan's in, the Wyatts will gang up on him for an elimination to continue to make him look inept. If Punk threatens to go the whole way, we'll see Authority-ference that gets him eliminated. Even with Batista, I feel like Orton could run a distraction and get him tossed.

Not since 1997 WCW (or 2013-14 TNA, I guess) has there been a time where I felt like dumb screwjobs at a major event are just bound to happen.

  183. Met her on a beach in Mexico weeks after she was let go, she looked pretty hot in a bikini, was really nice to the wife and I too...

  184. If Bryan doesn't win the match, I'll be disappointed. If Bryan isn't even in the match, period, I'll be baffled.
