Hi Scott - wanted to pass along the excellent first episode of The Kevin Kelly Show!
In the first episode of The Kevin Kelly Show, the Voice of Ring of Honor talks the upcoming Pittsburgh ROH show. Daniel Bryan and the Royal Rumble, the Yankees signing Masahiro Tanaka, Hulk Hogan returning to the WWE and more. Kevin then speaks with ROH World Champion Adam Cole and takes your #AsKKevin Twitter questions plus much more!
Cesaro enjoys working NXT so much, it's great to see. If you look closely, you can see him shed a single tear as he enters on Raw and Smackdown.
ReplyDeleteI loved the subdued thing Enzo and Colin were doing this week. Also, SAWFT T-shirts!
ReplyDeleteBo's "chickenshit heel who thinks he's an inspirational babyface" routine is truly glorious.
ReplyDeleteSweet. I loves me some Kevin Kelly.
ReplyDeleteHopefully its plays well to the Raw/Smackdown crowds.
ReplyDeleteThough...I'm not sure about some of this kayfabe stuff. Might want to rethink this.
ReplyDeleteHow far in are you? He did early but felt he got away from it.
ReplyDeleteI'll get at the rest this afternoon. I had it on the background while getting ready for work this morning.
ReplyDeleteBTW, did my ears play a trick on me? or did we get a little Kayfabe about the introduction of Chris Hero.
His goal is to be a bit hybrid, almost like Byte This or Raw Magazine used to be. He wants to not be insulting but also not outright go behind the curtain, which I get due to his role in the company.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to guess, the ROH stuff will be a blend and everything else discussed will be wide open.
Keep bringing feedback though, I will share and he is always open to improving as we go along.
Well, take this for what it's worth. My girlfriend is very tolerant of my wrestling fandom and watches Raw with me and goes to the PPVs at the bar with me, etc.
ReplyDeleteI believe her quote was somewhere along the lines of "What the hell are they talking about? Why are they pretending it's real?"
Which part? The Cole interview?
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the feedback here as well, trying to crowd source as much as possible to help the show grow early on here.
ReplyDeleteWell, I love the WWF year recaps he does with PTB, so I'll give this a shot for sure.
ReplyDeleteThank you and please let us know any feedback as we work to make this show a success.
ReplyDeleteYessir.
ReplyDeleteDid you find the rest to better for what you are looking for? basically, outside of the interview, was the kayfabe aspect lesser? Because I worked to steer it that way.
ReplyDeleteSo HHH interrupts via video wall and agrees to give Neville the title shot if he can last 4:45 with Bo.
ReplyDeleteCan any show go without an authority figure? How much effort would it take Neville to make some kind of challenge and for Bo to accept?
The meta of Parker's trauma over the crowd booing him and interrupting the Miz to vent is just delicious.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they're going with something I (and almost anyone) was pitching: have Parker just become the annoying hippie everyone hates.
The authority figure thing is fine and all (if done properly), but is it really asking too much to request that NXT has an authority figure that ISN'T HHH? Just take one of the secondary authority figures that are constantly made into a joke on the main shows (as any authority figure that isn't Triple Steph is) and let them have some sense of power on the developmental show. Everyone wins! Probably.
ReplyDeleteJBL is supposed to be the commissioner or GM or whatever of NXT, but I've been watching the show for a couple months and haven't seen him yet.
