Sam Houston

  1. ROMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Paul Roma all the way. I never hated the guy like some people, but since he's been vilified in some circles, I'd like to hear his opinion.

  3. Whatever happened to the Chris Hero shoot review? I was kinda looking forward to that one.

  4. How are Paul Roma and Sam Houston not alongside Koko B. Ware in the Hall of Fame?

  5. Wow, this reminds me of a rigged "Taboo Tuesday" vote. like...
    -Regular match
    -No Countouts match
-Triple decker cage of death submission career ending 8 out of 15 falls super duper match". (that would be Roma).

  6. I went Koko... Roma's overrated and Sam's useless.

  7. The only reason its not happening this week, its over five hours long.

  8. All three shoots are good though

  9. They are short enough and I thought three lower-card workers from the late 80's WWF would offer a different perspective.

  10. I voted for Roma too. Houston is an interesting case. From what I remember of him, he was basically a JTTS his whole career.

  11. I think the entertainment value in the comments makes Roma worth it alone, regardless of the quality of the actual shoot.

  12. Never heard anyone really rate Roma, really. Just now starting to get some props.

  13. Oh, I didn't mean that as a bad thing. I'm just saying "Roma >>>>> most people on the planet". My bad!

  14. I am not mad at all.

  15. Houston was also the brother of Jake Roberts and married Baby Doll, which is what leads to some people claiming that Dusty was jealous of him for that reason.

  16. Tough choice, but voted for Roma. I actually found him to be a competent worker for a midcarder, and other than his baffling promotion in WCW to be labeled a Horseman (and then in 1995 dicking over Alex Wright), I never had a problem with him... would love to hear any delusional self-love he gives himself, though.

  17. FIVE HOURS?! My God, I can't even watch Godfather and Godfather 2 back to back, and that's five hours long, and I love those movies.

  18. I voted for Paul. Can't help it. I'm a ROMAntic at heart.

  19. Roma is going to wind up with three times the amount of votes than the other 2 combined.....

I've heard from a few people that the Roma shoot is really good, that's why I voted for it.

As of this post, Houston has 1 vote.

  22. Sam Houston's a former Mid-Atlantic heavyweight champion! Ask Barry Darsow who took the strap from him at Starrcade '85!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh yeah...I knew he was Jake's brother but had forgotten about him being married to Baby Doll. I always thought he should have teamed with Kendall Windham b/c they were both so creepily thin.

  24. What has Chris Hero done to merit a five-hour long shoot interview? And what is the interest in sitting to watch it?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I voted Roma, because I like reading about interviews with egomaniacs.

  26. Im guessing most of the blog doesnt really remember or care about Houston.....

...I recall him and Id lump him in with Outback Jack's of the wrestling world.......glorified jobbers...

  27. I saw Sam Houston wrestle on Prime Time Wrestling more times than I can count. Outside of his familial relations, I can't think of anything interesting about his wrestling career.

    To be honest, Koko either.

  28. That seems excessive for a guy from this era who has not been in WWE. Hell, even for a guy in WWE that is a long time.

I know the name, but I don't think I've ever seen one of his matches and doubt I could pick him out of a lineup. By the time I started wrestling I'm pretty sure he was retired.

  30. Frankie and the Piledriver video were probably more notable than what Koko did in the ring...

  31. It is all about the WWE Developmental System
