The Rock in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015?

As of right now, the Rock is the leading candidate to head the 2015 Hall of Fame class. The only holdbacks are if he can fit it into his schedule and if he wants to be inducted.

  1. 1. I honestly thought Rock was already in.
    2. Not really. WWE stock gets a slight "buy" rating from most analysts.
    3. Brock is going to ask about his #1 contender.....to face the Undertaker.
    4. Can't be bothered to click through 8 pages to read it.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I thought the same too about the Rock but he just inducted his dad and grandfather

    ReplyDelete
  3. Uh, when you have your yearly earnings and your stock goes up, that's a positive.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Rocky Johnson in the WWE HOF is just funny to me. He wasn't really that big a deal. Marrying a Maivia was the best thing he did for wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  5. But, but... Daniel Bryan is not the world champ.... How is the stock not at $0.00?

    ReplyDelete
  6. There's a historical point for Johnson, though, because he and Tony Atlas were the first black WWF tag team champions IIRC.

    ReplyDelete
  7. True, and hilarious. Man did they hate each other.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Never said it wasn't. Stock can changes prices depending on which way the CEO farts during the day. Also I looked at various investment sites yesterday after reading the earnings report, and most had WWE has a slight "buy", which is different than being "high" on a stock. Of course go ahead and do your Dougie

    ReplyDelete
  9. The Great Cesaro's best match was that time he kept smacking Miz into the guardrail.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Same as Cowboy Bob Orton being in it I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  11. It showed in the ring too

    ReplyDelete
  12. He was one of the best technical wrestlers in the world in his prime

    ReplyDelete
  13. Bob Orton had a much bigger career than Rocky Johnson.

    ReplyDelete
  14. No doubt, that was a great moment.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh that's possible, I just remember him being Piper's lackey. Thought he was in solely because of who his son is, just like Johnson.

    ReplyDelete
  16. He had a pretty good career

    ReplyDelete
  17. I apologize for disrupting you with facts. Carry on with claiming rock is already in the hof.

    ReplyDelete
  18. He also showed lots of guts and determination to wrestle with a broken arm for so long. Kudos to him!

    ReplyDelete
  19. You didn't have facts, you pulled a Dougie. Nor did I claim Rock was in HOF. I said I *thought* he was in. You know what thinking is right? Its that thing you should do before you post.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey Bob Orton wrestled with a broken arm for like 25 years. That man is tough and a true HOF'er.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Calm down JPMorgan. I'm sure they'll declare bankruptcy later today.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 2. It doesn't matter if your company posts a loss or a gain, so long as it beats anslysts projections. You could turn a $400 million profit, but fall short of projections and watch the stock price drop like Steph McMahon's voice.

    3. Awesome. More part timers to falsely inflate the ratings. If they don't spend time getting new guys over, pretty soon there won't be any legends left to return part time to pop a bullshit rating.

    4. I'm just a simple WWE guy. Barely enough time for THAT.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It amazes me how universally hated Miz is right now. And I'm on that wagon too. I couldn't stand him early on, then gained respect for him during his US/Tag title push, then his short main event run...

But his face turn/Ric Flair alliance might simply be the WORST THING IN WRESTLING HISTORY. PERIOD.

    ReplyDelete
  24. But but but....Randy Orton is world champ... How is the stack not at $100.00?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I liked him most when he was teaming with Morrison. They were a good team

    ReplyDelete
  26. But the doctor on TNT said he was healed in February 1985

    ReplyDelete
  27. Was just a little harmless jab at the "WWE will go out of business if they don't push Daniel Bryan ASAP" camp. And hey, I'm a Daniel fan too, and I hope he gets his moment, just saying that WWE will be fine, no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Rock: They haven't even announced where WM31 will be, right?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey, that's "ACE COWBOY" to you!

    ReplyDelete
  30. On Colt Cabana's podcast, New Jack said that Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson hated each other but stayed together because they drew money. Any truth to that?

    ReplyDelete
  31. So maybe Brock goes to destroy Hogan, lights go out, Undertaker returns?

    ReplyDelete
  32. In Santa Clara, CA at the new 49ers stadium.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Strange place to be inducting Rock... you'd think they'd hold off until they go back to Miami, or somewhere closer to WWE's "home base".

    ReplyDelete
  34. He's a natural heel and a guy who works best in tags. Being bestowed an outdated finisher doesn't change that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. WWE has a P/E of 160, and suddenly trading waaay above every short and long term moving average it has. There's a correction coming. 21-22 by the end of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah, I didn't mind him then. I think the best thing for him would be a Honky Tonk run with the IC title. Maybe he wins ala Jeff Jarrett at Royal Rumble '95, always retains his title through DQ or countout, then gets squashed in 10 seconds from the injured guy he won the belt from.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've never heard that, but New Jack would know better than do. Tony and Rocky have been pretty open about how they feel about one another.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I might actually have to give RAW another go next week. Always touching the hot stove...

    ReplyDelete
  39. lol. I was actually agreeing with your (presumed) larger point that, short of another Rock or SCSA, the champ is not going to push the company over either edge.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The Rock was born near San Fran and Rocky Johnson was based in San Fran for the first few years of Rocky's life.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The dude held titles in just about every single territory in the 1970s and was the first black tag team champion w/ Atlas in the WWE.

Just because he came around before wrestling went national doesn't mean he wasn't a big deal.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Johnson#Championships_and_accomplishments

    ReplyDelete
  42. Rock will go in the Hall eventually but I'm thinking they try to wrangle one more match out of him to help fill Cowboys Stadium in 2016. 100,000 seats aren't going to sell based purely on the Mania brand.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sounds like The Rock is a lock for the HOF next year, assuming of course he wants to and can do it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Stone Cold Steve Austin.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I want the Undertaker to come out to start Raw and before he says a word, Brock runs out and beats the hell out of him. No talking. No mic work. Just Brock doing what he does best.

So of course, I'm assuming there will be lots of mic work, lots of talking and no Brock beating the crap out of people.

    ReplyDelete
  46. If Austin has one more match in him, that's where it happens.

    ReplyDelete
  47. The worst part about being aligned with Flair is he'll hit you up for money and you'll feel guilty not giving it to him.

    ReplyDelete
  48. You don't see what I did there. #sadface

    ReplyDelete
  49. "The little scratch on the roof of your mouth that would heal if only you could stop tonguing it, but you can't."

    ReplyDelete
  50. You sound pretty knowledgeable... finance is like voodoo to me.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yup, if they're going to sell 100,000 seats in Texas, Austin's the guy to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. That seems pretty apt... I have actually known people like that in my life that just know how to work people and get them to do things they know they shouldn't do... If I had my brains, and that kind of charisma I would rule the fucking universe.

    ReplyDelete
  53. So I guess you are saying it all depends on what... The Rock Says

    ReplyDelete
  54. "work people and get them to do things they know they shouldn't do"

Doesn't that perfectly describe those.... "extra-curricular activities" that you are so famous for?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Not really, he doesn't seem like the type to pursue someone who's just not interested.

    (I could be wrong.)

    ReplyDelete
  56. was in investment banking for a bit. Quit in 2008 when it all came crashing down.

    ReplyDelete
  57. big difference between "know they shouldn't do" and "don't wanna do". I think it works pretty well!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I guess you could look at it that way... I have always seen it as me just facilitating something that was already there... but that may be me just justifying my socially unacceptable behavior.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Just by the structure of your post, you make it sound like "If WWE doesn't do EXACTLY as I say, then they are stupid". Just reeks of arrogance.

And the WWE network will be a success. Sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  60. "Quit in 2008 when it all came crashing down."

Did it hurt inside? Because if it did you gotta take a stand it don't help to hide.

Seriously though I tried being a day trader for a while... my goal was to make 1% profit a day selling WTFE but it turns out I needed to devote far more time to it then I was willing to and wasn't nearly as easy as I thought it would be. I have also tried fucking around with binary options with limited success.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I could go for some of that, BUT the problem is that the WWE booking team would have him lose clean in all his non-title matches, so it wouldn't really mean anything.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm still kicking myself for not buying boatloads of Bank of America stock when it was very, very cheap after the 2008 collapse.

    ReplyDelete
  63. You would be right (assuming you are talking about me still) WTF is the point? You can't force someone to like you.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Maybe they'll have to move it to another venue because of a "bomb threat."

    ReplyDelete
  65. I see what you did.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hey, you just gave WWE the idea for how they can punish Hogan on his first night back.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well, it took them long enough to get the Rock in. The bigger question is, when will Savage get into the HOF?

    ReplyDelete
  68. I feel the same way. Both of Rocks relatives, Orton, and Volkoff are all in due to other influences. Then theres Koko of course as well. Rocks relatives are in so that Rock would come back for the ceremony, Orton is Randy's dad and real good friends with Piper and Flair, also was part of WM1 main event. Volkoff was around forever and was a tag team with Iron Shiek.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I didn't realize that I was breaking new ground by saying that Brock's strength is kicking people's asses.

Thread jack: After the women pulled a gag job that Dawn Marie in the ECW locker room would be proud of, it's time for our boys to knock off those mountie bastards (except for Crosby and other Pens players on the squad, they're cool) from the north. In the words of Bubba Ray during some tag match (can't remember if it was against the Unamericans or Jericho and Christian): DIE CANADIAN SCUM!!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Saw this on reddit, source was pwmania.com:

"Kane made an appearance on the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis this morning to promote Elimination Chamber. The host asked Kane about Brock Lesnar factoring into the pay-per-view and Kane said Lesnar will be at the event on Sunday."

My dream scenario is Lesnar attacking Batista, Bryan winning the Chamber match, Lesnar challenging and winning the Mania shot from Batista on Raw, and Raw ending with a staredown between the Lesnar and Bryan to close the show.
So... that's what I'll be daydreaming about until Sunday night.

    ReplyDelete
  72. USA! USA! USA! HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I always loved how we were supposed to believe that they'd sold out the Coliseum, then had a bomb threat, and were able to squeeze all of those people into the 15,000 seat Sports Arena.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Remember when Brock Lesnar declared he was the #1 contender for the world title and then the writers proceeded to do nothing with that? That was...yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Fuck you Canada. Today is the first time I've carried who won a hockey game since halak got hot for mtl

    ReplyDelete
  76. I have been on the anti-Miz train for a long time. Never saw it. His promos were disposable and he was useless in the ring.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Like I said, when the people writing the Benoit disclaimer finish another saying, "WWE does not condone having your way with the boss' daughter, unless it's 1999 and it makes you head of the company."

    ReplyDelete
  78. Hogan's creative control won't allow it, though.

    ReplyDelete
  79. They at least need to have Austin hosting. Undertaker's last match would help too. Thats a lot of stadium to fill

    ReplyDelete
  80. Try BOXING BOB instead...

    ReplyDelete
  81. ... You do realize that Wrestlemania hasn't happened yet, right? Maybe give them a few more weeks before being snarky about it?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Again, it's the way you worded it. Came off as very smug and douchey. Nothing wrong with the actual content.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Actually, to be fully accurate, impregnating a Maivia was the best thing he did for wrestling...

    ReplyDelete
  84. Why isn't The Rock in already? It's not like it's a real sports Hall of Fame where the guy has to be legit retired for 5 years. There isn't a ballot. Why not induct him while he's at peak mainstream popularity?

    ReplyDelete
  85. One could argue that he's not yet at his peak. It seems like he's becoming more successful every year.

    ReplyDelete
  86. That just bombed, bigtime. The thing was, when Flair was making Miz his protege and bestowing him the Figure Four, Dolph Ziggler was RIGHT THERE IN THE RING who'd be a much better fit than Miz.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yep, I mentioned this a few weeks ago, there was a Miz vs Dolph match on Raw that was just BEGGING for a Flair turn... But it didn't happen, Miz won clean with the figure four. BOOOOOOOO!!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'll bet that Hogan comes out, then Orton interrupts to threaten him, Batista makes the save. The easiest cheap face pop (the only kind Dave can get right now).

    ReplyDelete
  89. Really. Crosby is the Canadian you let off the hook.

Is it his shitty play in Sochi or just his overhyped wonderfulness

    ReplyDelete
  90. Hogan milking his ovation in the ring: 10 minutes
    Undertaker's entrance: 5 minutes
    Batista's total screentime: 2 minutes

    ReplyDelete
  91. Total screen time for Ryder, JTG, Titus, Darren Young, Sin Cara and Christian" 0 minutes

    ReplyDelete
  92. Man this game sucks if you're American. Reminds me of why I don't watch hockey.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Settle down Canada, we'd still crush you economically or invade your country and blow up all your maple trees.

    ReplyDelete
  94. And Canada with the sweep of the US. Damn good game, just one of those (un)lucky shots decides it.
