Comments

  1. I'm interested to see where they go with Daniel Bryan. MAYBE they were clueless during the Rumble, and *MAYBE* you can give them the benefit of the doubt, and they decided to give Batista one more try yesterday... But now they clearly know. If they still go with Batista/Orton, they are just being stubborn, and I won't feel any sympathy for them.

    ReplyDelete
  2. There was a pretty loud Batista chant going on during that match. Terrible annunciation by the crowd though, you'd think they would know how to pronounce his name by now.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I realised while watching the Chamber match last night that, personally, the Bryan boat has sailed, in terms of me actually caring. I do think he's going to be in the 'Mania Main Event as that seemed to be the direction at the end of the PPV but when he was getting near-falls on Orton last night, I didn't get excited once - mostly because I assumed he couldn't possibly win. Whilst it will be a great moment if Bryan is actually given the title at 'Mania, I can't even begin to get excited about a match with him vs. Batista or Orton or both.

It will be interesting to see what they do on Raw but I have little faith that whatever they go with will actually make me care about Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  4. That crowd was straight up weird! At one point they were chanting "Y-2-J"! How they managed to mangle the letters "R-K-O" so brutally I'll never know.

    ReplyDelete
  5. *downvotes*. DAMN IT!!!

Anyway, I just hope he doesn't face Kane. Either he beats HHH or wins the title at Mania, and I'll be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  6. It's Minnesota. That's closer than I would have thought. *Rimshot*

    ReplyDelete
  7. Because just being in the same ring as Triple H at Wrestlemania is a victory for the #YesMovement!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Being in the same ring : No.
Beating him clean : YES!! YES!! YES!! YES!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I Just signed up for the network!

    ReplyDelete
  10. At one point they all chanted their grades on their junior high school final exams.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hey, I was surprised and saddened by the realisation that I no longer cared about Bryan's quest as well! At this point though I'm so down on the product (and I'm not a regular Raw viewer at the best of times, let alone currently) that nothing that looks likely for 'Mania is going to garner any interest from me - not even a Bryan title win. The moment will be sweet, sure, but I'm just so burned out from the 7 months of bullshit it's taken to potentially get there.

    ReplyDelete
  12. How did you figure out how to do it?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I agree. I dont see how they can go with Orton vs. Batista at this point. Bryan has to be added to that match and win in order to prevent disaster.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Who needs Bo Dallas on the main roster when Batista could do the same gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  15. And at only ten times the cost!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Make a YouTube video and share with us how you did that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. You know, it seems that everyone in the WWE hates Daniel Bryan. Don't you think that there's gotta be a good reason for that?

    ReplyDelete
  18. http://www.wwe.com/wwenetwork

I went there this morning and noticed that i now has a trail button. I clicked on it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Cole is far more entertaining than me.

    ReplyDelete
  20. So you just followed the trail? Got it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Not to mention they seemed to take pride in shared sexual diseases. "OUR V.D! OUR V.D!" Disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  22. There is an option to pay now, but why not get a week free. It'll charge the same either way.

    ReplyDelete
  23. He sold poison milk to school children.

    ReplyDelete
  24. So they were chanting "see 'em bunk!" in the hopes of spreading their veneral diseases further?

    ReplyDelete
  25. No,I want to see it. The train wreck factor would be off the charts. Maybe Bryan can special referee like Austin at Wrestlemania 20

    ReplyDelete
  26. So are people still sticking to their guns and ignoring the blatant foreshadowing at the end?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I just did too. All by myself.

    ReplyDelete
  28. RAW: Jesus, this crowd needs to KILL this show.
Network: Not getting, end of story.
TNA: Don't change, TNA. Just don't.
KC: Well, looks like I'll be getting a few DVDs from them soon (83-84 WWF and Balls/ICP YouShoots, at least.)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just to get it out of the way now... What is the "Downvote" situation? Is it a Disqus thing, or a "Scott got tired of people whining about it" thing? I know I'm guilty of that too, but I never would have wanted it to be disabled either.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It's Disqus. When I downvoted something they had displayed a link to their FAQ revealing that it's disabled.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Considering the link describing it is a Disqus page, I'm pretty sure it's a Disqus thing.

Also, I'm up to Don West shilling the WWE Network... Genius idea Scisco. Better than anything Cole and Frenemies could pull off

    ReplyDelete
  32. Unless you are a fan, save your money on the Balls YouShoot. His first RF Video shoot is much, much better

    ReplyDelete
  33. "TNA Tag Team Championship Change at House Show This Weekend"

    Slow news day, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  34. That they're pushing Bryan for the world title picture despite appearances?

I get that. Unfortunately, I honestly don't have faith in WWE anymore. I honestly think they think the best thing to do right now is Batista/Orton.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So the fan in attendance got his money's worth. That's good.

    ReplyDelete
  36. We need a new system then. 1 upvote = Upvote, 2 upvotes = downvote!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think they were hoping those fans they were showing to close the show would be booing and not looking like their dog just died.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Is "Boo-tis-ta" the greatest WWE fan chant ever?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I really think it is. I hope it catches on, now.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think you're fudging the numbers a little bit there. That fan thought it was an Ace Of Base concert, and paid to get out.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't know, I found their reactions to be perfect. Like legit gutted. Even better than booing. And Cole's rant was very good also.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ok, so i'm using a proxy (from the UK) to hopefully get the weeks trial of WWE Network. 2 questions:

    1) Can you subscribe now? For the life of me, I can't find a link to actually subscribe, which, to me, seems quite odd.
    2) Will I have to pay for the rest of the month's subscription after the week's trial?

    ReplyDelete
  43. i turned the sound off at the pin to watch True Detective, whatd he say?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I prefer no down voting because I think if you disagree with something you should actually post a comment challenging it. Doesn't really add anything to the debate if you don't.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Paraphrasing, but he asked when Bryan is going to stop getting screwed and how it has to end.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Basically that Bryan's been screwed over and over and over and over again, and that all of this nonsense is unfair and pissing off the crowd, and then wondered how much longer this was going on. I was disappointed in the finish until those last couple of minutes because it became clear to me what was happening.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I do too. Downvoting is lame. Just tell the person why you don't like their post.

    ReplyDelete
  48. You know, if Bryan is getting int the main event at WM (I'll wait and see) having Hogan come out tonight and have his back would be pretty awesome......brother!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Don West should shill everything.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Some comments are not worthy of a response... due to intentional trolling, sheer retardation, or just blandness.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I bet if TNA kept him in the booth, they wouldn't be running away from PPV now...

    ReplyDelete
  52. WWE NEtwork Site. When you sign up for the trial, it has a button already selected for the 6 month commitment. Just cancel before that if you do not want to pay for it after that

    ReplyDelete
  53. That's true, but you should just ignore them then. Especially trolls

    ReplyDelete
  54. You would have to pay for the next 6 months if you don't cancel the trial by next monday.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I paid and subscribed 10 minutes ago from Colorado. Site is AWESOME. First thing I watched was the first ever episode of Smackdown in full.

    This....is worth every penny.

    ReplyDelete
  56. How many episodes of Raw & Smackdown are available?

    ReplyDelete
  57. And it has launched

    ReplyDelete
  58. A few "select" episodes, and a ton of clips. this area is more like the "on Demand" stuff that they have been running.

    ReplyDelete
  59. The crowd likely won't be all that filled with rage. Taker and Hogan will be enough to get them popping and in a good mood

    ReplyDelete
  60. Watching a PPV on my iphone and the stream is perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Aaaand the sign up site isn't working for me already. Great start, WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  62. One week trial page has crashed. Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yeah , id think hed be getting a shot tonight. Half the roster tries to interfere but Bryan prevails.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Signed in, watching on Roku. Quality is great and the vault has more than just the PPVs here at the launch.

    ReplyDelete
  65. but but...big nasty said no one was going to sign up for it!

    ReplyDelete
  66. They really should have allowed early sign ups, a first day crash was inevitable.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Not Found. The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I signed up about 10 minutes early, and was having a blast going through everything. It's like the doors to Black Friday opened, and now I am buried in shopping carts.

    ReplyDelete
  69. What finger did you use? I'm scared to do it wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I thought only government ran websites crashed due to overload!? DAMN YOU OBAMA!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yup. Then it worked for a second, but the credit card information wouldn't pop up.

    But really, is anyone surprised?

    ReplyDelete
  72. It still displays how many downvotes you got if you look at the Disqus dashboard though (or is / was for me anyway).

To me it makes no sense to say that if you don't like something, comment on it instead of downvoting - but that upvoting is still okay. Upvoting is lame, if you like someone's commenting, take the time to say something in reply - you can spin this around any old way.

Who really gives a fuck? It's just a rough measure of what a bunch of strangers on the internet within specific niche group happened to think of something you've said in passing. Do people really care either way?

I got like, 10 down-votes for saying I really wasn't all that impressed by the six-man match. So now I'm thinking "Huh, I should maybe go back and rewatch it". 10 people saying "Rewatch it, it was good" would be boring as fuck for anyone else to scroll through and read.

Plus, down-voting is useful for when you guys start talking about basketball! *cheery wave*

    ReplyDelete
  73. Kind of happy about this news, as I feel vindicated because Robbie E acted like a total asshole at an indy show my friend and I went to last year (highlighted by other "main event superstars" like the ECW Zombie, ooooooh...) Yeah, over a worked result of a wrestling match, am I bitter much?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Had his way with the boss' daughter a long time ago?

    ReplyDelete
  75. I sort of agree, though I'm sure I'll be elated when he finally does win. The Rumble this year was perfectly timed for him to win it and have that tried-and-true WWE booking ormula of a babyface winning the Rumble and going on to win the title at Mania. They really Boo-tista'ed that one. Bryan will recover, but when we look back at his career in 10 years, it won't be as great as it could have been.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Yes. This is one thing that bugs me about many you folks here. You don't ignore the trolls and then the comment threads are cluttered up with a bunch of nonsense that I don't want to read.

And I don't read it, but, due to Discus' shitty threaded commenting system, rather than skipping past it, I often just close the tab and move along. Replying to trolls is NOT Best For Business.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I was so close to signing up. I put my credit card stuff in, then boom crash.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Sounds like a Kofi Kingston/Crash Holly (RIP) tag team.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Oooooh, what other materials do they have to go with the PPVs?
Now, for the big questions...has anyone tried any Benoit-including events, or OTE '99? If so, disclaimer(s) content/edits? There or otherwise? For instance, I doubt the music rights have been solved...though I am glad that the planning for the network led to the restoration of other things.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yep, hook, line and sinker every single time. And the best part is, they're not even fooled. they KNOW a troll when they see one, and they KNOW they should just ignore... But they just can't help themselves. So they give the troll exactly what they want every single time, thus resulting in more trolls coming in.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Its really cool that they went with the folks who set up mlb.tv. Ive watched a couple hundred baseball games and never once had an issue with a stream. And the quality is tits.

    ReplyDelete
  82. OTE is on there, has a slate in memory of Owen to start the show. I am told they just cut out the whole IC match stuff, including JJ's promo.

They have Raws from 98 and 93, some old ECW stuff, MSG house shows and the first SD plus recent eposes of Raw, SD and NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Raw sucks, network sucks, tna sucks, cheese sucks, blow jobs suck, Monterey ranch chicken sandwiches suck, everything sucks, WE GET IT!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Raw sucks, the Network does NOT suck (I'm just not giving WWE ANY money), way to restate the obvious, I don't like ranch (but I do like chicken sandwiches), and not everything sucks. Just you. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  85. mlb.tv is awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm sorry, I missed a couple apparently.

Cheese does not suck, and neither do blowjobs in the right situation. (Good looking girl giving me one: good. Any other combo: Not so good to retchtastic)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yeah its incredible. They really did right by the fans.

I would love to have a commentry option with WWE. The guys that were in the match , maybe a trainer talking you through the match explaining what went right and wrong, old timers comparing it to matches from their day. Maybe celebrities calling their favorite match. A mst3k type deal with snarky commentary on some classic bad matches. Im hoping they get creative.

    ReplyDelete
  88. They should put Bryan in Batista's corner, cheering him on to win. That would really fuck with people.

    ReplyDelete
  89. If they only pushed Daniel Bryan, this wouldn't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Do they have the announcement itself from JR when he passed on? How about the comments made by Rock, and I think Road Dogg?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Caliber_Winfield_TCTFebruary 24, 2014 at 8:43 AM

Wait a minute...without downvoting how will people be able to stick it to me?!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Caliber_Winfield_TCTFebruary 24, 2014 at 8:47 AM

I heard it's 'cause he testified against Vince McMahon in the trial of HIS LIFE!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Caliber_Winfield_TCTFebruary 24, 2014 at 8:50 AM

I feel like Vince and co are of the thought "look, we gave you the Summer of Punk! Remember, how big of a deal it was? remember? C'mon, Triple H has friends who need to get their gold-plated shark bars! Have a fucking heart!"

    ReplyDelete
  94. Caliber_Winfield_TCTFebruary 24, 2014 at 9:00 AM

I saw someone on 411 come up with the brilliant zinger of "WWRetard Network". I mean...man. He seriously thought of that and went "Fucking brilliant! I'm gonna let'em have it with this one!"

    ReplyDelete
  95. Technically, that was Malk.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I was saying "Boo-tis-ta"....

    ReplyDelete
  97. I think they just underestimated how much support Bryan could get from the non-nerd fanbase and overestimated how much Batista could get. Batista is simply not in the same league as The Rock or Austin as guys who could return as instantly over, dominant babyfaces. And even those two may not have been able to overcome the juggernaut of Daniel Bryan and YES if they had been put in that exact same spot.

    ReplyDelete
  98. That or make it a handicap match -- Bryan and Batista vs Orton. Then, every time the crowd cheers for Bryan, the WWEtards in charge of booking can convince themselves that they were cheering for Batista instead.

Actually, EVEN BETTER, just give Batista the "Yes!" chant, too!

    ReplyDelete
  99. What a shark bar may look like

    http://memoryglands.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Popsicles.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  100. Just another reason why it sucks Raw's in Green Bay tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  101. If the IWC was a body, 411's comment section is its asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Hope you're right for what you read into the commentary at the end, but we'll see.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I see what you're saying, but if the "COLE WAS FORESHADOWING!" crowd was correct and Bryan gets added to the WrestleMania main event, there is no way on God's green Earth he's not going to be winning and the biggest WM in the history of history won't fade to black on an 80K-strong YES chant. So I will still be excited, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Yeah. I'm thinking they've GOT to do the obvious thing here, but there's the niggling little tiny worm in my brain going, "Man, I really wonder what 80K superfans can do if Minnesota on an off PPV brought it that well," heh.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Renee: "So, Batista. Due to your new contract, you're main eventing Wrestlemania despite the fact that the fans vehemently want Daniel Bryan in that spot, and your own crowd reactions are tepid at best, and at worst you're being booed out of the building despite supposedly being the top face. How DO you sleep at night?"

Batista: "On a mattress made of money, with many beautiful divas."

    Renee: "Touche."

    ReplyDelete
  106. If that is true you should never talk to anyone again. Ever.
