BoD Daily Update

Batista Update

The decision to turn Batista heel was made after the Elimination Chamber PPV due to the reaction he received from the crowd. Orignally for last night, Batista was scheduled to turn heel and rip apart the fans after losing to Alberto Del Rio and being called out by Randy Orton about the fans not liking him, which would lead to him going nuts and acting like an animal. At the last second, the decision was made to have him appear on Smackdown for a few segments. For those wondering, even before the crowds turned on Batista, he was scheduled to turn heel at some point this year.

WWE Putting a Hold on Your Credit Card Account if you Ordered the Network

For those who ordered the network and saw a charge appear on your statement, they are just putting on a hold, similar to what a hotel does to make sure you are able to pay for your room. The reason for this was to make sure that you could pay for the network going forward.

  1. This Hogan fella could have future in this business.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Read the spoilers, should be an interesting Smackdown.

    ReplyDelete
  3. About Batista: Better late than never. Looking forward to "Kanye Batista" being back.

Shield/Wyatts: Hell yeah!! (And with the Network now up, there's no more need for the "Why not save it for PPV" argument.). Can't wait for Monday!

    ReplyDelete
  4. What exactly do they expect to do for Orton/Batista? Have a heel v heel wrestlemania main event? Surely they don't think they can turn Orton face. It should be fun to see Batista slowly lose his patience with the fans and eventually turn into his 2010 self, now that is a character i could get involved and engaged in seeing, but that usually works against someone like Cena, Bryan or Punk in which his money/style attitude conflicts with. He's basically cut from the same cloth as Orton, other than them being ex-stable members/friends there would be no real conflict outside of the WWE world title.

Does this mean WWE has Punk in the bag to insert into the main event? Or they might have someone else? Maybe Reigns will step up, or maybe they'll (unlikely) insert Jericho or RVD.

I just can't see Heel Batista vs Orton in any form.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Wasted heat, wasted angle. It should be a Wrestlemania Opener, Bourbon Street Fight.

Falls Count Anywhere, No DQ, the works.

It'll be hard for a crowd to get too antsy when the opening match BLOWS THE FUCKING ROOF OFF of the Dome.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Well they have several weeks left before WM, and they are already planting the seeds for a change. So to make a never-before-said comment: "Let's play it out and see where it goes!"

    ReplyDelete
  7. -Batista: They should have gone with that Raw plan... Del Rio should have left the arena on a stretcher, and not be seen until after WM. IF we're stuck with "World Champ Batista", then Del Rio challenging him on the RAW after WM might have gotten a good reaction.
-Wyatts-Shield: Look below, I already gave my opinion in a response to VJ.
-Network: As long as they disclose it in the terms when you sign up, it's kosher. But the pages long terms to basic shit could get a mini-rant out of me anyway.
-RAW: At least they're not still bleeding off from week-to-week. Just hour-to-hour. Wait... this was supposed to be a SPECIAL! Raw, with ALL the "boosters"... BWAHAHAHAHA!

    ReplyDelete
  8. (Separate response)

Why save it for PPV? Maybe it's because you want the PPV to be GOOD? It's WRESTLEMANIA, not "C-List PPV With A Misused Gimmick".

    ReplyDelete
  9. Punk makes a surprise appearance on Raw, drops a pipe bomb style promo on both guys, crowd goes totally apeshit.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well, just saying that there are no more technical "PPV's" anymore. It's now just shows that are part of the Network package. Either you bought it or you didn't.

And if you were to personally ask Bray Wyatt, I'm sure he's 100x more excited about a 1 on 1 match with the top guy of the past 10 years instead of another 6 man tag. Regardless of if he wins or loses.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'll toss in that I think Cena-Wyatt is going to be good stuff, it's a logical program for Bray that finally started to give him some more character depth, and I like the "I'm gonna make all the new stars look awesome" kick Cena is going on.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1. Better earlier late then later late I guess. Heel Batista will be enjoyable and the right thing. Curious to see how WM plays out. They won't have heel Orton vs. heel Batista for WWE Championship match. So we'll see how they get there.
    2. Should be a PPV match. Yes Vince, I saw your reply below. Make a special EC match at WM with these 6.
    3. well duh
    4. Same as every week.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why not just turn him on raw? Weird

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yep, I was begging for him to snap and just tell the fans to shut up. I have a feeling that while they knew it had to happen, they just wanted to make really really REALLY *REALLY* sure that they had no choice. So the "Freedom of speech" thing was a last ditch desperate effort... and it was an Epic fail, so they are going with it now.

    ReplyDelete
  15. With Batista going full heel, now I'm REALLY interested what they're doing with the title match. Worst decision in the world is to make Randy a face and stick with it, so that'll probably be the case, but man, it's just screaming for a surprise Punk return on Monday or, failing that, Bryan getting into the match.

It just infuriates me that this awesome, damn near amazing Shield/Wyatts feud is nothing more than a placeholder & set up for Bray/Cena at Mania. It's nice that Cena wants to "pay it forward" this year with a new star (by yknow, beating him), but in all honesty if Punk is still gone, I honestly wouldn't have a problem if they shuffled Cena, Bryan, Batista and Orton into some configuration JUST so we could get The Shield/Wyatts Bourbon St. Brawl at Mania. I just REALLY want to see that match!

    ReplyDelete
  16. How the hell is the WWE comparing themselves to a hotel? The hotel puts a hold on my account because I HAVE to pay for the room. You don't get a one-night free trial at a hotel.

I'm really, really leery of the WWE charging me even though I've cancelled. There's no reason why there needs to a pending charge for something that costs $0.

"The reason for this was to make sure that you could pay for the network going forward."

This is also bullshit. You can say something is free and then make sure people can pay later. Poor business practice here.

  18. I don't think we can know what direction Wrestlemania is going until the Chicago Raw. If that show goes by and Punk doesn't come back, then we'll know they're locked in with Bryan/HHH and Orton/Batista. If Punk does return, we could still see him vs HHH (unlikely now), or in a triple threat title match. My card:

    Orton/Batista/Punk (WWE WHC)
    Taker/Lesnar (No DQ)
    Ambrose/Reigns (Guest Ref Rollins)(US Title)
    Bryan/HHH
    AJ/Lita (Divas Title)
    NAO/Rey & Show/Rhodes Bros/Usos (Tag Titles)
    Cena/Wyatt
    Big E/Henry (IC Title)
    Sheamus/Kane
    Christian/Swagger/Cesaro/Ziggler/Miz/Del Rio/RVD/Kingston
(Ladder match for a future title shot)
Kickoff Battle Royal featuring the rest of the roster

    ReplyDelete
  19. Why haven't you said anything about this before???

    ReplyDelete
  20. At this point in time, if they can't get Punk back for Raw in Chicago to be inserted in the wrestlemania main event, I doubt they'll be able to entice him with anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Pretty much. I'm not discounting the possibility that Punk really just wants the time off, but then again, he's always wanted to main event Mania too. If I'm WWE (and yes, I know this won't happen), I'm pitching that he gets to make the hero's return in Chicago, take down Orton/Batista/The Authority on the mic, and headline Mania. Fuck, if I'm going ubersmark I have him WIN the match at Mania, Bryan comes out (after beating Triple H) to interrupt his celebration, they shake hands and "take back" the Benoit/Eddie WMXX moment.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Doesn't work that way now, "PPV's" are just "special" wwe network shows at the end of the month now, I'd expect far more PPV quality matches to pop up on Raw and even Smackdown, especially with the tv deal talks going on.

Heck, with Raw going on 3 hours, Once the network goes global..I'd expect that line between PPVs and Raw to blur significantly, especially considering Raw would be the WWE's prime marketing tool to entice the casuals and non fans to get into the WWE and it's network.

Funny thing is, that's kind of what TNA is doing, putting all their stock into TV, only thing is they do that because they are forced to, while for WWE it's more of a transcendence from a dying format.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Remember, they're all so full of their own horseshit over there that sometimes they think they're doing something "masterfully" when they're not. Planting the seeds of dissent on one show before turning on another, even though WAY later than it needed to be.

    ReplyDelete
  24. fuck that....Bryan comes out and challenges Punk on the spot to close out WM and beats him. Boom!

In all seriousness, I don't think there is anybody in the back that seriously denies that having Punk (and all the buzz he created post-departure as evidenced by the endless internet articles and loud chants) would be exactly the shot in the arm the main event so desperately needs. I'm pretty sure it's all down to Punk, I'm hoping it's more of a financial and creative issue rather than a physical one, those two are far easier to rectify than the other obviously.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'd buy the hell out of that.

Or...rather. I guess I already bought Wrestlemania regardless of the card, but still.

I don't know how Lita comes in. Why not give the title shot to Emma?

Could probably trim Sheamus and Kane.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I thought you left Vince! So much negativity, right?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes... for the day... Today is another day.... Don't try so hard. Save your energy to bitch about the inevitable doom that the Network will suffer!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'd explicitly play it up as Punk/Bryan as avatars for the WWE Universe overcoming The Authority as the symbol of Evil Corporate America on both fronts (Bryan beating Triple H, Punk taking the title). Then I'd book them to keep coming out on top of The Authority (individually and as tag teams) at the "PPVs" through the summer before having a one on one showdown with Bryan taking the belt at Summerslam.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Amazon does the exact same thing when you sign up for Amazon Prime. They take out a fee just to make sure your account isn't bullshit and then quickly give it back.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That's what I thought too...see if acknowledging the crowd could get Batista over as an anti-hero sorts. It didn't, but no harm done either.

    ReplyDelete
  31. And if Punk won't do it, they're gonna have to put Bryan into the match and make it a threeway.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Welp, I made a deal with the devil. I signed up for the WWE Network.

    ReplyDelete
  33. If Punk returns within the next two weeks or so, they'll put Bryan in the triple threat and have Punk vs. HHH

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's how I'd want to see it go down too.

Punk returns during a Bryan/HHH related segment and is on Bryan's side. They both win their matches at Mania, and they continue to be aligned for a while until eventually Punk turns on Bryan. Whichever one of the two doesn't have the title by 2015 wins the Rumble and Punk/Bryan is the WM31 main event.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So have they had the meeting yet that involves "So we turned Batista Hell...now what.?" "What do you mean?" "Well we have two heels for the mania main event" "........" "Shouldn't the fans have someone to root for?" "....... your fired."

    ReplyDelete
  36. This doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's the way a lot of businesses operate.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm sure you'll jump right to Wrestlemania 3 and the inaugural Survivor Series!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maybe they thought he'd be gassed after every line and wanted to freedom to edit if necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh you naive fool... Can't you understand that WWE is EEVVIILLL, and they will max out your credit card, then change their phone number and relocate to the Cayman Islands??

    ReplyDelete
  40. I know this leaves HHH without a match but if you really want the crowd ape shit reaction wrestlemania moment you put Punk and Bryan in the main event in a 4 way elimination.

You have all 3 turn on Orton from the get go beat the crap out of him all 3 hit their finishers and then boom he's out. This works for his character because he will have "things being unfair" and StepHHHanie can drop him as their guy in order to move Bootista into that roll, who is more suited to play their muscle/face of the company, movie star, and so on.

From their you have punk and Bryan do what they do while protecting Grandpa Dave for awhile until they team up to eliminate him, leading to the "this is awesome" "holy shit" chants to end all chants and let this two tear the house down.

    ReplyDelete
  41. If Bryan had won the rumble with Kane giving him a number and Lesnar became the corporate champion(something they were teasing),they could have ended The Authority with a War Games.Vince comes back,Sides with Punk and Kane, later Orton forges a alliance with them, seing that's his chance for payback.

My WM main event would be like this:

Bryan VS Lesnar for WWE title

War Games Vince/Punk/Kane/Orton vs Batista/HHH and other two

    ReplyDelete
  42. Actually, I might start watching the ECW PPV's in order. Or WCW from 1983 on. Not sure yet. I will admit that the quality is insanely good.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Another fine scenario. I have no desire to see HHH wrestle or anything, and if he does indeed step aside then this is a great way to do it.

The only way I'd be truly invested in a HHH match at this point would be for Bryan to win the title, and for HHH to be so pissed off that he feels like he has to take matters into his own hands and challenge Bryan for it at least a month or more down the line. Of course, then he'd probably win and we'd have a whole new slew of shit to complain about. But it at least has the potential to be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm not sure how Bray will look awesome when he gets beat by Cena at WM.

Wait a minute, HHH, is that you?

    ReplyDelete
  45. When the title-unification was announced last December, I was SURE that the "TLC" match would have a wonky ending, leading to a four-way (Cena/Orton/Punk/Bryan) match at "WM".

Having Batista in there for Cena might actually make it a better story, since Batista represents what the fans DON'T want even more than Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Bootista vs Booorton.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's true, an upper heel midcard act has NEVER been elevated in a match they lost to a tippytop face. Ever.

    ReplyDelete
  48. People want to pay money to see The Shield vs The Wyatts? Put it on free TV.

People don't want to see Orton vs Batista? Let's make it the main event of our biggest show of the year.

This is EXACTLY why Vince is a millionaire who should be a billionaire.

    ReplyDelete
  49. There are no more PPVs.

    ReplyDelete
  50. So you think that every single person who watches WWE is getting the network, and there will be exactly zero buys for PPVs going forward?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Heel Batista is the only way to salvage his return at this point and really, that's only gonna work if a few things happen:

    1. Batista gets his cardio back
    2. Batista finds that fire he had before he left. If he's cutting the same no-effort promos in leather vests and Kanye glasses as he is now, it's gonna bomb.
    3. If he starts CARING again. Performance energy is a real and weird thing. It's the reason why a concert by a band you don't know playing music that isn't really your thing can be enjoyable as shit if the band is thrilled to the tits to be on stage playing while a concert by a band you do know can be disappointing if they're just going through the motions in their sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Have you ever gone to a bar? If you want to run a tab most bars also do this to ensure you can pay for future drinks. Doesn't matter how many, or even if it's just one.

    ReplyDelete
  53. uhm. yes there are?

even you exclude those people that live in the US that decided not to subscribe to the Network and just get the regular ppv (I am sure that some cable companies will still carry WrestleMania) there are also still a lot of international buys.

the latter even make for up about 40% of all the WrestleMania buys. so why would the WWE want this number to be smaller than it could have been with a different card?

    ReplyDelete
  54. "For those wondering, even before the crowds turned on Batista, he was scheduled to turn heel at some point this year."

is someone really buying this? because I sure don't.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm one person not getting the network.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Well, fair enough,but:

1.The WWE is pretty learly moving to a business model built around television rights fees and network subs.

    2. They probably want the WM ard to be great as a part of selling the network anyway.

    3. Shield-Wyatts aren't fighting at Mania regardless.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Happened to you too?!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Good thing I gave them your credit card number. Oops, I've said too much

    ReplyDelete
  59. SPOILER ALERTS (but not really since it's detailed above):

Now that Batista has turned heel and said that he's going to destroy all our favorites, now does it not set up for Punk to return on Monday in Chicago? Even this company in 2014 isn't stupid enough to go with heel Orton vs. heel Batista for the unified title at the biggest show of the year. He already destroys Dolph on Smackdown, who is someone that the people chant for. There's also the built in storyline that Punk left because Batista got the spot he was supposed to get (Punk said in the Ariel Helwani interview that's not the case, but it doesn't mean that they can't run with that on TV).

    ReplyDelete
  60. Why not? He played heel before.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Punk's not coming back lol

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thats IF Punk wants to come back at all right now. Punk may be at a point where he is just too burnt out and banged up to want come back no matter what they offer him.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I buy it as Batista is good at playing a heel and the WWE knows it. But it wasn't going to be for a while, maybe around SummerSlam.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Why is that hard to believe?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Sorry, can't chat. I'm currently working 3 full time jobs to dig myself out of the hole that WWE put me in!! Those damn scammers!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. because why should they? of course under the premise that Batista had been coming in to those great babyface reactions that they seemed to have expected.

(it's pretty much the same deal as guys like Rock or Lesnar: if they "work" in the role they have for those guys, they don't change anything about them)

    ReplyDelete
  67. I absolutey agree about them transitioning to a new business model. I was just talking about the situation regarding this WrestleMania.

and if you look at the numbers for WrestleMania 28:

"These updated numbers include late recorded buys and have WrestleMania
    28 doing 1,253,000 buys - 733,000 domestic and 520,000 internationally."

half a million buys is still a hunge chunk. and the Network won't officially be available outside the US for at almost all of 2014 - and even then, the majority of countries is still left out. so this "transition" period will not be a thing of months, but more of years.

    ReplyDelete
  68. If they really want to troll the audience, they should have Batista/Orton be a gigantic swerve by the Authority. Just as they are about to lock up, have HHH come down to the ring. The three have a staredown, then all hug, then Orton gives Batista one of the belts (he's still carrying around two for some reason) and they form a united heel stable with the TWO faces of the WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I won't lie, I would LOVE that.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It's only February. By the time the fall rolls around, the press junket for GotG would be over and they'd be in the clear to turn him.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Now THAT would be something different.

    ReplyDelete
  72. OK, so if Batista is a full blown heel, then there's no way they can run Batista vs Orton at Mania. Which means they need to insert a babyface into the match. Someone that the fans have been clamoring to see as the #1 guy for a year now. Someone that can lead the company to new heights.

    Sheamus.

Sheamus vs Orton vs Batista at Mania. Book it.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Possibly they received word Monday that Punk is willing to come back. Maybe on RAW in Chicago Triple H and Orton are beating down Bryan when Punk comes out of the crowd to a huge pop and cleans house. Punk says he wants to fight Triple H at Mania. Bryan somehow gets put in the WWE title match.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Why don't they just throw Cena in the WWE title match to make it a triple threat since they need a face in it then book Wyatts vs. Shield in a streetfight.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Actually, I do believe he's back to legitimate billionaire status with the current stock price.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Problem: Who's the second face?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Unless... they turn Orton face? Oh shit.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm saying this in all seriousness, but don't overthink it too much, or you'll fantasy book yourself into a guaranteed disappointment come Monday.

I'm just glad that there's a chance the title match might be changed, and that's good enough for now.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Batista will just have to form Authority Hollywood.

    ReplyDelete
  80. You bitches just hate Batista because you hate yourselves. Batista's real, too real for you so you try to bring him down to make yourselves feel better. Deal with it. Suck his balls. One love.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I wonder if he said that promo with tears in his eyes...

    ReplyDelete
  82. Batista's too much of a man to cry.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Do the WWE bookers have the guts to do that at Mania? I'd be very impressed, and holy shit that would rule.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I do, if only because he doesn't have that many heel contenders to play off of. Orton is the only one. Bryan's a face, Cena's a face, maybe Wyatt or a Shield member but it's debatable anyone's paying to see that.

    ReplyDelete
  85. So assuming Punk isn't coming back--- what could they possibly change the title match to be? You can't just insert Bryan into the match, cause that leaves HHH without an opponent. And they went full bore with Bryan vs HHH as the match on Monday.

I doubt Punk is coming back too, but without him the pieces just don't fit right now.

    ReplyDelete
  86. If anything, he'd get teardrop tattoos.

    ReplyDelete
  87. 2 words. Zach Ryder.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I miss the spotlight, cocky, screw the fans Batista. He was great right before he left.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Transitioning Bryan into a triple threat- with the Authority's champion defending, no less- from a HHH feud wouldn't really take a lot of mental gymnastics.

I don't think it'll happen, but they could make it happen in one segment if they wanted to.

    ReplyDelete
  90. That's true. We have over 40 days until Mania for something to change. I just can't see Batista vs. Orton as the main event UNLESS perhaps Triple H and Batista kick the crap out of Orton on RAW Monday and HHH announces that Batista is the new Face of the WWE. Double turn.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Honestly, I'd be fine with that scenario at this point. Especially if it means that match is third or fourth down the card behind Taker/Brock and Bryan/Hunter.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Not what I meant... Bryan chases one of them... and who's chasing the other? Cena? Yawn.

    ReplyDelete
  93. So Kane really was a double agent this whole time! Except for Ryder.

Who says this stuff doesn't make sense?

    ReplyDelete
  94. I am usually pretty good at having self-restraint with fantasy booking scenarios, so I'm going to indulge myself, akin to eating half a donut after a month of being good about going to the gym.

I'd have Orton finally run too far afoul of the Authority, who declare that he doesn't even deserve to main event WrestleMania, so they push the match up to Raw, and screw Orton out of the title in favor of their new FotWWE Batista. Meanwhile, Vince or somebody forces HHH to similarly move up his own match with Bryan to Raw, with the stip that if Bryan wins, he gets the Mania match, and if not, I dunno, HHH can pick a guy. Orton comes out and distracts HHH, who eats a knee to the face, boom, Bryan vs Batista at Mania, and Orton vs HHH because, hey, it gets them out of other people's matches at least.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I don't believe it. I feel they were totally hoping for the babyface reaction that most wrestlers get when they return. He didn't get that reaction and he's absolutely not over. They can turn him heel or do whatever but nobody's gonna care either way.

    ReplyDelete
  96. "Oh, I was a double agent, but fuck that guy. That hair? Purple and orange? Nah, fuck him. I'm glad I tried to murder him. Is he here? I'll do it again, shit."

    ReplyDelete
  97. Roman Reigns would fit. Put them in a tag match so Bryan can do most of the work.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Glad spring training starts today for MLB.TV...You know, a service that ACTUALLY works!

    ReplyDelete
  99. So, I finally listened to Stone Cold's podcast with Cena. Good stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Batista the movie star? As your main champion?...hell no they wouldn't have made him heel, especially if he came out to a huge 2005 pop like they thought he would.

    ReplyDelete
  101. WWE Network has been working perfectly for me since I ordered it this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  102. No if they recieved word or got any hope that Punk would return, wouldn't they attempt to turn Batista heel afterwards? I mean the Bryan/HHH build was pretty solid on monday, they'll likely have Punk in the main event.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Based on what I've been reading, you may have hit the lottery with that one. A friend of mine is having a terrible time.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Man I missed alot. Haven't watched in 2 weeks? Batista is now heel? Kudos wwe

    ReplyDelete
  105. So our WWE title match is between two heels? I just don't see the crowd really getting behind Orton.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Everyone has a price.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Yeah. Wasn't the rumor that he quit because they were building a Punk/HHH WM feud and Punk wasn't main eventing. Why would he come back to do the same thing?

    ReplyDelete
  108. I signed up on day one, and it has worked flawlessly for me. The only thing I can't do is watch on my 360, but there are ways around that.

    ReplyDelete
  109. How was the extended candy striping?

    ReplyDelete
  110. I'm not that enthused about Sheamus/Kane, it's just something I can see them throwing together to give them something to do.

As for Lita? I just think there's a good story to be told there,as AJ used to be a huge Lita fan. AJ would go over, and could drop the title to Emma (or Paige) at Payback on the one-year anniversary of winning the belt.

  111. I think if you offer him the return pop in Chicago and the main event of Mania, why wouldn't he do it? He's only gotta stick around until July, and this frees him up to get his merch and royalty checks forever. Austin said when he left in 2002 he didn't get a dime until he returned, and he said that walking out was the biggest mistake of his career. I'm sure he's talked to Punk and now a month has gone by for all parties to cool off and do business.

I'm not saying he is coming back on Monday, but how can he not? At least if he doesn't return this week, I will drop all hope that he will return in the near future.

    ReplyDelete
  112. If they have him "tell the truth" about Batista like he kind of did on Raw Monday, the crowd will get behind Orton.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Just thinking about the Outlaws and them being champs going into Mania, is it just that they've never worked a stadium show and want 70,000 people singing along to Road Dogg's intro?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Man, went to Vegas with a few buddies and I lost my phone literally within the first 12 hours of the trip. Just got home so cam tablet it up until I get a new.phone later. Alcohol =/= being a responsible adult or taking care of things for me

    ReplyDelete
  115. Seems that I missed a ton the last 2 weeks though, wrestling wise.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Yup. The CM Punk chants have been off the carts. Basically replaced Daniel Bryan as the go to chant. You'd enjoy it.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Damn. Sorry, haven't read the reviews yet. Did they set up Brock/Taker last night? Are they trying a double turn with Batista / Orton ?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Taker stabbed Brock in the hand with a pen after an open challenge contract signing. So yup.

No, "Boo-tis-ta" is now a chant thanks to the fine folks in Minneapolis. But until this week WWE was going to try and keep him face.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Even the announcers were kind of down on Batista:

King: "Del Rio says that while he was wrestling every night, Batista was sitting on his couch."

    Cole: "Well, is he wrong?"

I might have mixed up who said what, but I found it interesting that it came from those two.

But still having Orton suddenly go face is a terrible move.

    ReplyDelete
  120. "YOU CAN'T WRESTLE! BOO-TISTA!" might have been the best dueling chant ever.

    ReplyDelete
  121. i'm surprised no one has commented on how incredibly hot lana is, especially with the accent she uses.

she makes the female business suit sexy as hell. and those eyes, those lips...

and like i said, DAT ACCENT

    ReplyDelete
  122. True, having him go face right away would be strange, BUT Orton (at least IMO) has a very likable, psychotic face character, so it's not inconceivable that the crowd would warm up to him, if he were the one to "tell the truth" about Batista.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I'm not entirely sure about that. The Authority has treated Orton like absolute shit since Summerslam and most people, myself included, think that Hollywood Dave would make a far better choice for Triple H's personal champion. Plus there's a built in storyline of "HHH built Randy up just to tear him down twice" there ready to go, threading all the way back to Evolution.

Now, it's not perfect. They likely won't be able to pull off a double turn inside of a month, Batista is currently a shitty and completely uninspired wrestler, etc.

Turning Orton face is not the solution to a trainwreck title match at WM, but overall, it may not be the worst idea in the world, regardless of what happens with the belt, to turn him. His current heel character is dead in the water.

  124. easily the hottest diva they have going

    ReplyDelete
  125. I'll need to see more before slotting her ahead of AJ and Naomi. But she's off to a good start.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Wonderfully douchetastic, well done!

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hah, I didn't even need to go to Vegas to lose my phone in a casino. It was after the Illinois/Missouri Braggin' Rights game in St. Louis nine years ago.

Then got thrown out of the casino TWICE. The first time was for constantly swearing at some dick Mizzou fan at a poker table. I wasn't even playing, my friend was. The second time was after I snuck back in to try to find my phone.

I didn't even lose it in the casino. I lost it in the cab on the way there. Then the cab driver called my girlfriend because it was the last number in the phone, and he mailed it back to me after she got him in touch with me.

  128. Ways around it as in to play it on the 360?

    If so, please explain.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I just hook my laptop up to my TV via HDMI. Works great while I wait for XBOX to work. Also, even though it doesn't work on XBOX, I have heard others that are having problems on their PS3 or Apple TV is that they can go through the Internet Explorer or other web app via their media center, and they can login that way and watch it on their TV.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Perhaps, but the real money is on the fact that HHH's buddies get the spots at the top.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I don't care what they do with Orton, the 70,000 people in New Orleans are not cheering him or that match. It would get the same treatment the Rumble title match got because it's a match people don't want to see in that spot.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Lol. I've definitely been thrown out of casinos before. It usually after someone pulls like a 2 outer on me and I just create them but statistically telling them how badly they played the hand (pot odds, implied odds, etc.)

Pretty awesome you got your phone back. I wrote mine off for good

    ReplyDelete
  133. I literally thought you were joking about the pen stabbing thing. So it seems like that sour mania main event huh. I made a bartender put Raw on Monday and saw Cena get beat down by Bray...so that's really a THING I guess now?? Fuck

    ReplyDelete
  134. I"m not certain about that, Orton actually has been able to garner real heel heat from time to time, just not consistently (a lot of it is the fault of the bookers), I think Batista will be SO villified, it has the possibility of turning Orton face by default, especially if he brings out more of the "Viper, I'm gonna beat your ass just because I like hurting people" character. But it could also be silence, will be interesting to find out!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Let's call a spade a spade, meltzer gets a lot of shot wrong but this was one of his out laughable rumors and he nailed it.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Thanks. This was like my Bret Hart Sabbatical. 411 offered me a lot of money to post there

    ReplyDelete
  137. Yup. he really stabbed him. Haven't seen a good stabbing in a wrestling angle in a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Ugh. If it doesn't involve Sid Vicious, it's a second rate stabbing

    ReplyDelete
  139. Yeah, I'd see that happening a lot easier than suddenly accepting Orton as a face. No matter how The Authority's jerked him around at times, when the chips are down they save his title and Orton spent last fall gleefully attacking the people's choice for the position he's in. It'll just be a heel/heel mess and outright rejection at WM.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I way to exhaust to scroll through and try and catch up now...will watch on tiro later. WTF are the doing with Bryan? I saw him wrestle Kane in a single match so that's gotta be out, right? Brock Taker and Cena Wyatt seem set from the little I read. It's gotta be HHH or HBK (less 2%) I'd say.

triple threat with Batista and orton?

    ReplyDelete
  141. Bryan/HHH seems to be the current WM plan.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Where a that dude Stennick? He swore Batista/Orton would be decently received. Guess they were so afraid of Batista getting a good reception they turned Batista him??

    ReplyDelete
  143. I'm cool with that actually

    ReplyDelete
  144. He got banned by Scott after an attempted "power trip", claiming he was the "draw" here and telling SK he should get part of the ad revenue.

    He's now a punchline.

  146. Long rambling posts about how "Everything is so GREAT, and the complainers are idiots, and Vince/Steph/HHH can do no wrong"...

    ReplyDelete
  147. Question: " Did they set up Brock/Taker last night?"

    Answer: " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xc8JC-wEB_Y "

    ReplyDelete
  148. There were rumours (before the walkout) that WWE was going to do another Summer of Punk this year, and one of his opponents would be a heel Batista. I buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  149. If this isn't a dominoes pizza commercial, I've lost faith.

    ReplyDelete
  150. This WM could be a disaster from IWC viewpoint.

Orton vs. Batista for WWE belt
    No Punk
Who trusts Triple H with Bryan in a match?
Brock vs. UT doesn't seem to be interesting right now
    Hogan is the host
Cena vs. Bray can't be that good
    No Shield?
WWE Network stream will probably not be working for WM, since it's possible WWE Network hasn't had a stress test yet

So for the people who paid for WM, you're screwed
So for the people who paid for WWE Network but not getting WM (due to tech problems), you're screwed

By Monday, WWE's stock might drop 25%

    ReplyDelete
  151. The stock price and creative have NOTHING to do with each other

    ReplyDelete
  152. I'm still holding out hope, but this is why I'm attending the Raw after mania as well this year. Still regret not staying the extra day in Miami 2 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  153. That's not what I'm saying. Stock prices might drop if WWE Network doesn't stream WM properly.

    ReplyDelete
  154. I'm sure they'll have it figured out by then. MLB is awesome at this. Give them a few weeks. I got faith

    ReplyDelete
  155. Cena vs Wyatt and Brock vs Taker could be good. I'm fully expecting Bryan vs HHH to be garbage and HHH to go over, and of course orton vs Batista is going to be a bad bad bad match. Oh well, the era of wrestlemania being a big important show is obviously over with.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Bryan vs HHH, Cena vs Wyatt, Taker vs Brock, and of course the wwe title match everyone has been dying to see Orton vs Batista were all set up at raw
