Gold medal for Canada! How could it not be well? Also, someone finally tipped me off on the Simpsons Reddit hack. (Google it). So things are good.

Comments

  1. I'm kind of looking forward to Shield-Wyatts, the tag title match and the IC title match, so I'll say it's worth a watch on the Network once it debuts.

Now I'm wondering, though, will ALL the PPVs be on a 30-day on demand delay?

    ReplyDelete
  2. He was supposed to be though. No fault on the actor if thats the role he has

    ReplyDelete
  3. It is very interesting how wide of a spectrum wrestling fans cross. From toothless hillbillies and mentally challenged folks to highly educated and productive people.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I can see ADR winning actually, with help from a Lesnar attack or something of that sort

    ReplyDelete
  5. Yea, but I didn't find it funny or entertaining or anything. I just didn't like him in the movie.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Doing a rip off of 10 at 30 isn't the worst idea in the world. HHH/Bryan opens, Batista squashes Orton in the middle of the show, then Batista/Bryan main events.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I clicked on the 50 coolest moves link, saw that I have to click another 49 times to get to #1, then immediately closed the tab.

Websites that whore page views should never be supported.

    ReplyDelete
  8. You could just watch it online after it airs, like a million other people

    ReplyDelete
  9. it was the teeth, wasent it

    ReplyDelete
  10. I could. But honestly the virus protection on my laptop ain't that great, and I don't want to turn it into a $300 paper weight.

    ReplyDelete
  11. No show is worth $50 to me, not even WrestleMania. It's questionable pricing decisions like this that will make the WWE Network vital to their success, because in this day and age, it makes no sense to pay $50 to watch a 3-hour show that you can't even replay again later when you can pay a fraction of that for a month of subscription to Netflix that gives you to FULL SEASONS of awesome shows like House of Cards.

    ReplyDelete
  12. But it says on the front page: REPLAYS OF RAW AND SMACKDOWN.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Tanahashi vs. Kyle O'Riley would be so damn awesome

    ReplyDelete
  14. If I really thought that someone outside of Orton had a chance of winning or Del Rio had a shot against Batista, I might have ordered it. But, instead we'll end up getting Shield vs. Wyatts in a rematch probably on RAW tomorrow, Orton retaining in the chamber, Batista squashing Del Rio in under 5 minutes, Big E retaining. Bleh. It'll be nice to see how they build up some of the Mania matches though

    ReplyDelete
  15. Not seeing the downvote count is stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Always. Plus Flair.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm excited for the Wyatts/Shield, but not enough to spend 45 bucks or whatever when I can watch it in a month anyway. The EC match should be great, but I'm just expecting yet another Orton win, so I don't really care; again, I'll watch it in a month. The rest of the card does nothing for me.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh man, when I saw the headline I thought this was going to be about the spark that once lived in Bob Holly.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Keller mentioned it too.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't know, I get your point about it still not being of interest in 30 days, but I think for me, the show IS of interest in that I'm definitely interested in Wyatts/Shield and I think the EC match could be a very good match (with an ending I don't want to see, but still...). My interest level though is at about "I'd pay $10 to $15 for it maybe", not $45, so I probably will watch it in a month unless it turns out those two matches were terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  21. My assumption is no...what would be the point? EC makes sense because they don't want people who might have ordered the PPV not doing it because they can watch the next day, but once the PPVs are actually on the Network, it'd actually be against their best interests. Forcing people to watch it live who might not be able to for whatever reason, and not allowing those people to watch it for 30 days, would hurt their view of the Network, for no possible gain.

    ReplyDelete
  22. We will finally get an answer to the question: How much does dat guy weigh?

    ReplyDelete
  23. The key is using a private server with trusted uploaders

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well shit, how is Caliban going to cope, now?!

    ReplyDelete
  25. That would require me to know what I'm doing. Which, admittedly, I don't. Although I've taken some hints from people on the BoD, so maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I find it REALLY depends on the person involved. For example, one of my personal favourite shoots was from Al Snow several years ago. The guy had some fantastic and hilarious insights into the business. So much so that I can't understand why he's not more involved in a management position.

    ReplyDelete
  27. They could remove Bryan from the match entirely, replace him with Kane and have Orton single-handedly beat everyone in the match and I would still get the Network. I could care less about the current product if I can watch older stuff that I actually enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's good background noise if you're doing something else... like a good chat on here.

    ReplyDelete
  29. If I wanted to watch a prison riot, I would join the riot squad. I just want to watch some wrestling at a wrestling show

    ReplyDelete
  30. Odds on Sin Cara missing a month after his first match with a stubbed toe?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Shakespeare Caliban, or X-Men Caliban?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is that a terrorist group?

    ReplyDelete
  33. The "three hour tour" on Gilligan's Island feels shorter than some of these Raws.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's pretty fair, although I agree with the logic that says WWE should have made the first PPV available on the Network be the Elimination Chamber, to test the waters a little bit.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's getting harder and harder...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Mini Thredjack:

Where has Farva been? Did he get banned or is he just on a bender

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't think it's a matter of legality, it's more a matter of logistics. If the WWE Network is going live tomorrow at 9AM, and Elimination Chamber is immediately available, why would anybody buy it?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Gah, I meant Calibre. Whatever his name is that everyone seems to hate.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yet another reason why Bayless doing shoot recaps is AWESOME. Much better than sitting and listening to the whole thing.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The latter, because he's not a very good character.

    (But I mean Calibre.)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I doubt they're going to book their angles based only on letting people to the Network.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Who ARE the favorites on the betting lines, anyway? Orton, I assume, Batista is an easy one. The Wyatts, I would guess. Do people actually bet on the other matches?

    ReplyDelete
  43. http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/WWE_News_3/article_76554.shtml#.Uwo11vldXIs

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm like Art Donovan but with heights instead of weights. lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. Once you start you never look back

    ReplyDelete
  46. Netflix is at sort of a crossroads though... harder and harder to get those cheap rights fees from the producers/content owners, the potential of Amazon/Hulu/etc... to just outright price them out of anything new, and the potential of Comcast (IF the proposed merger goes through) to make any sort of streaming much more expensive.

If Netflix is still under $15/month by the end of 2015/16, I'll be impressed.

(Of course, they could sell out to one of the bigger network chains, that would solve part of their problem while possibly creating a new one.)

    ReplyDelete
  47. The only thing there I disagree with, honestly, is the Big E-Swagger match. I think they may put the title on Swagger to help the Cesaro face turn, leading to Cesaro-Swagger for the IC Title at Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It's good to get a break.

    ReplyDelete
  49. He might just be on rotation at the hospital. I don't imagine there's a lot of down time when you're on call for surgery. At least, there wasn't when my father did it 25 years ago. I barely ever saw him during the week.

    ReplyDelete
  50. You know, given how great both are these days, I would be excited to watch that match. Assuming they were given at least 10 minutes to work a good match.

    ReplyDelete
  51. without a doubt PWG is better than both ROH and TNA, the problem is them running like one show every 5-6 weeks

    ReplyDelete
  52. They absolutely should. This is the biggest business decision WWE has made since purchasing WCW. In my opinion, what happens on Monday is more important for WWE than what happens on Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think Swagger is better than we give him credit for, because he's been taking a back seat to Cesaro for the last year or so. He may not be able to be repaired from the damage done to him, but a series of good-to-great matches with Cesaro could be the first step.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It's WM and midcarders rarely get a lot of time to work on that show, but they'll most likely do a rematch at Extreme Rules where they'll be given time to work.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Don't let him lie to you, he's just a glorified candy striper (just go with it when he gets back)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Every time Farva posts, someone should call out, "Oh nurse!"

    ReplyDelete
  57. Your point is exactly what I mean by Apple is too restrictive... iTunes, which has somewhat questionable sound quality, can only be streamed through an Apple device...this, unless you abide by Apple's rules, they won't help you...

    ReplyDelete
  58. That works too. Parallax and I figure we'll troll him for the fun of it whenever he comes back. Nurse/Candy striper, ask him why he lies about his age, and, of course, CM Punk questions

    ReplyDelete
  59. Normally I go by the rule of never messing with someone who knows how to use a surgical scalpel with precision, but since he lives nowhere near me...

    ReplyDelete
  60. THe nonstop Punk posting really really turned me off and I wasn't a fan in the first place. There was one time when an Impact thread was going on when he was "drunk" and started the Punk shit up again.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I was holding up signs.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think this is just a one-time thing to make sure the buyrate of Elimination Chamber isn't somewhere between "jack" and "shit." Everything else is going to be on the network anyway, so would they care if they don't want it live or six hour later or the next day?

Although I'm wondering how it works now for someone who hears how awesome WrestleMania XXX is, decides to subscribe the next day, if they'll have immediate access to that show right away or if they have to wait 30 days?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think he has been excellent as a tag team specialist. I think Jack Swagger WWE Main Eventer is a big fail however. Real Americans has no business getting over and they are one of the best things on the show right now.

    ReplyDelete
  64. He could easily sell Cesaro or the Wyatt's.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thread Jack; Jake Roberts just revealed he has a cancerous tumor behind his knee. Hope it hasn't spread and he fully recovers. And no amputation is involved.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Mick Foley has taken to Facebook to ask WWE to have a great show tonight. McMahon in protest orders all finishes to be hated by every fan, writers realize they don't have to change anything...

    https://www.facebook.com/RealMickFoley/posts/783186058378201

    ReplyDelete
  67. Elimination Chamber is the definition of a two match show. If I booked this PPV, I'd realize that and make Shield vs Wyatts 30 minutes, the elimination chamber 50 minutes, and all the other matches noone cares about 5-10 minutes. If they do that, this will be a great PPV. If they treat the other matches as equals, then this PPV will suck.

    ReplyDelete
  68. That's not going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  69. That Kaitlyn shoot looks brutally boring.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It is amazing how hard Vince McMahon turned on Foley over the years.

    ReplyDelete
  71. How much could she really have to say after what, 2 or 3 years working for exactly one company in a lowest of the low card role?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Threadjack: Jake Roberts has cancer. Life is funny.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Given some of the things Foley wrote about Vince in his books, blasting Vince about being in his ear as an announcer, going to TNA and everything else, I don't really blame Vince...

    ReplyDelete
  74. The drinking and drugs don't get him, but cancer does? Fucking sucks, man. Hopefully he can beat it.

    ReplyDelete
  75. All valid points, and thinking more about WWE gave Foley a great platform to shill all his stupid shit.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The quote that got me was him saying that instead of praying for him, pray for any children stricken with cancer instead

    ReplyDelete
  77. So it will mirror her run in WWE....

    ReplyDelete
  78. I used to like Foley a lot (he and I graduated from the same college, about 17 years apart), but the last few years I've really soured on him as he's developed a holier than thou attitude that I'm not sure he deserved.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think he is a dick...

    ReplyDelete
  80. As long as it is just behind his knee and he doesn't have mets this should be easy to beat.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I feel the same way. I was a fan during his active run but almost every single thing I've seen out of him since his retirement has really put me off of him.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Better chance of a Hogan WM 9 repeat....

    ReplyDelete
  83. The last thing he did I enjoyed was the 2nd ECW reunion when he tagged with Edge as a heel.

    ReplyDelete
  84. An amazing sentiment from a guy who probably knows he was living in bonus time, given all of his other activities.

    ReplyDelete
  85. ??? How did Vince turn on Foley?

    ReplyDelete
  86. That I agree with entirely. I was actually surprised they didn't, because as confident as I'm sure they must be in their infrastructure, they won't know for sure until Wrestlemania, when everyone with the Network is streaming the PPV at once, and if that crashes, the entire Network is in deep shit. I'm not even sure yet whether I'm going to watch WM on the Network or order it with my friends (I always have a bunch of people over and we all split the PPV cost...I'm reluctant to risk the feed crashing). Starting with Elimination Chamber would have made more sense to me, although I see the argument against it I suppose.

    ReplyDelete
  87. The Mets are easy to beat...

    ReplyDelete
  88. Survivor Series 98, do you even watch the product....

    ReplyDelete
  89. They really haven't used him at all during his last run. They sort of erased how important he was to the company IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  90. They don't use any legends except for one offs here and there. They just released a 3 disc blu ray of him. Doesn't seem like he was "erased" or "turned on".

    ReplyDelete
  91. That's what NXT Arrival is for, although it won't test it at the same level

    ReplyDelete
  92. One of my friends went to his comedy show and said it was fucking awful.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I had the chance to go to one of his shows in the City, I passed, because I thought it would be...

    ReplyDelete
  94. They must have promoted the shit out of that blu ray, this is the first I'm hearing of it. Foley would have made a great GM on the show or manager. Knowing how obsessed he is with money I'm sure he would have licked Triple H and Vinces toes to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I can totally believe that. He has some funny wrestling related stuff in his books and Im sure he can be funny if ya hang out with him but stand up comedy is a whole different animal....

    ReplyDelete
  96. It came out last year, the doc was pretty great.

"Knowing how obsessed he is with money I'm sure he would have licked Triple H and Vinces toes to do it."

Foley actually saved his money, so he doesn't have to pull a Flair.

    Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Yet he still came back and wrestled after retiring, meh...

    ReplyDelete
  98. From what I heard it is more like Kevin Smith's QnAs than straight up comedy.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Those are actually pretty good...

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'm not talking about actually wrestling. I'm talking about having to be bailed time after time by Vince and Trips.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Flair is still living the gimmick, its sad.....

    ReplyDelete
  102. Scary to think about what would have happened to Flair if HHH didn't have a Flair fetish.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Flair would probably be Randy the Ram if he isnt already...

    ReplyDelete
  104. I honestly have no idea who she is

    ReplyDelete
  105. Did he rant about how Hogan/Andre was a better match than Savage/Steamboat for the sole reason that Hogan/Andre was the draw?

    ReplyDelete
  106. The Kayfabe Commentary ones are really good. Sean's a very good interviewer and they've developed a style that breaks up the monotony that plagues most shoots.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Although if they give the EC match 60 minutes it will be way worth watching next month on the network.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I know it won't happen, but could you imagine if somehow, Batista lost his title shot and the main event was Orton defending against Bryan...

Bryan loses on a BS finish but then Big Dave comes in to save the day and winds up winning the title in 15 seconds. The crowd reaction would be tremendous!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Be careful, he likes to read old posts.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Such a great movie!

    ReplyDelete
  111. I'd buy it if she did the interview completely naked.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I could see shit getting thrown in the ring worse than when Hogan turned and former the nWo.....

    ReplyDelete
  113. I hope they do 5 minute intervals instead of 3.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Even then you would want a refund two minutes in...

    ReplyDelete
  115. What are some unique spots that can happen in the chamber? Cesaro spinning a guy over the top rope onto the outside cage floor? Bryan headbutt off the top of the pod?

    ReplyDelete
  116. "Toes"?

    No, no, friend.

    ReplyDelete
  117. There are literally more naked women available for free on the internet than you could enjoy in your lifetime.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I don't want to picture Foley turned on...

    ReplyDelete
  119. There's possibly a "Meet the Mets" riff in there somewhere, but I certainly can't find it.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Fuck. Gets his track righted, so to speak, just to encounter this? Given the tumor location and his recent progress mentally and physically, I'm more optimistic than I thought I'd be. Hope all turns well for him--a few more RAW/Legends appearances from him would be well-deserved.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Too late.

(His wife is pleasing, though. Logical next step, and all...)

    ReplyDelete
  122. True, To be fair, there's only been a few times they've left something out that I really wanted to see, and I can't really even recall specifically off the top of my head (I'm old).

    ReplyDelete
  123. Could be good Network content, provided the company stays with NBCUniversal.

    ReplyDelete
  124. ARRRRGH THE BARBARIANFebruary 23, 2014 at 12:31 PM

It's unprofessional to walk out without giving notice

    ReplyDelete
  125. Not that I recall. Is that something he's talked about before?

    ReplyDelete
  126. I agree to a point. I think Swagger's quite good but just never caught on with the audience. He never found that "thing" that put him over with them, you know?
I also don't think he's even remotely on the same level as Cesaro, who I personally think is a future main eventer and legend. If they push him right, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  127. ARRRRGH THE BARBARIANFebruary 23, 2014 at 12:38 PM

Right idea, wrong line of thought. You see, Batista is STARRING in the biggest movie in the history of the universe. So when he destroys Randy Orton at WM and holds the belt all summer, the movie fans who stab each other to get into Guardians of the Galaxy faster will see him and realize how INCREDIBLE the WWE Universe is, they'll tune into Raw while orgasming and the ratings will be AT LEAST a 12.0. Then they'll realize how incredible the WWE Network is and we'll be able to jack up the price to $35.99 a month, and some people will order THREE accounts!
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have to think like they think. Never mind that the Rock becoming a b-level star didn't push the needle and even him becoming a B+/A- level star later really only moved the needle a little.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Anyone here seen the Cesaro 100 spin video? It's pretty impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Jobber, I wanted to publicly congratulate you on your climb to the top of the BoD. Even though there are those that think you started dating Scott just to help yourself get to the top, I think you got there via hardwork, and that your love is real.

    ReplyDelete
  130. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighFebruary 23, 2014 at 12:54 PM

Chamber is available in a month.... Not tomorrow. I am debating ordering it. I ordered TLC out of boredom.

    ReplyDelete
  131. davidbonzaisaldanamontgomeryFebruary 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM

The Mets, meet the Mets....step right up and beat the Mets

    ReplyDelete
  132. The thing is, I only like to buy/watch shows where I know that the guy I like is going to win. If a guy I don't like might win, I don't order the show. So I'm gonna pass on this one.

    ReplyDelete
  133. davidbonzaisaldanamontgomeryFebruary 23, 2014 at 1:02 PM

The tall chick with the blonde streaks, feuded with AJ, great rack...

    That's about it.

    ReplyDelete
  134. davidbonzaisaldanamontgomeryFebruary 23, 2014 at 1:03 PM

My first thought was Kurt Angle's "two big jugs of milk" line, which would be appropriate for Kaitlyn.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I don't know. I personally love it when they stack the deck against the underdog babyfaces for weeks and then they triumph against all odds in the end.

    Orton's the babyface, right?

    ReplyDelete
  136. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryFebruary 23, 2014 at 1:08 PM

Is that a challenge? I'm sure I could come up with a worse one.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryFebruary 23, 2014 at 1:08 PM

Thanks. And I meant reading it.

    ReplyDelete
  138. If Piper could beat it, I'm hopeful Jake can, too.

    ReplyDelete
  139. The real money's going to be in AJ Lee's shoot interview after she gets released later this year. You know it's going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I guess. But when you compare him to the other guys from his class of ROH... There's a reason he's not inn WWE or TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I don't have to do anything. I'll just let the Network do it to you.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I'm transferring for a philosophy BA.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I suspect I would be interested in reading it.

    ReplyDelete
  144. You realize that, at worst, I'm out $60, and if WrestleMania has some bugs, I push for a refund, which I'll probably get. It's really not a big deal either way.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Then go ahead. Enjoy! I'm certainly not going to stop you.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Is getting American Netflix on my Ps3 difficult? And is Community on the American version yet?

    ReplyDelete
  147. Do I need a WWE Network app,or just the same app I already have? I have the one Cole is always shilling with matches continuing through Raw commercial breaks and such.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I hope you get your wish regarding the network, and this can give us some reviews on some of the shows. :)

    ReplyDelete
  149. Have you or anyone else played simpsons tapped out? or is it available in canada?

    ReplyDelete
  150. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can't bare my soul any more than that.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Don't worry, it won't last. NBC is notorious for cancelling shows without even giving those shows a chance to find an audience (Go On and The New Normal immediately come to mind) so they will likely dump the show the very second a quarter hour rating goes down by 0.00001%.

    ReplyDelete
  152. It's a 13-episode special event miniseries.... I doubt NBC will cancel it.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Bunkhouse Stampede! Just kidding, more along the lines of the WCW 1992 PPVs and the WWF PPVs commentated by my all time favorite announce team Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan (WrestleMania 7, Summerslam '91, Survivor Series '91, This Tuesday In Texas, Royal Rumble '92, WrestleMania 8 and Royal Rumble '93) plus Halloween Havoc '91 so I can finally watch a crystal clear version of that negative 3 star match between Bill Kazmaier and Oz.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Be sure to check out Brad Armstrong vs. JW Storm and watch WCW drop the ball on yet another guy that could had been a future star for them.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I loved how Tony Schiavone called that "the first ever WCW Sin" when it also turned out to be the last ever WCW Sin.

    ReplyDelete
  156. http://deadspin.com/the-complete-why-your-team-sucks-2013-archive-1264117741

This should give you a general idea of what I'm going for. I'll do PWG, CZW, ROH, TNA, WWE, and maybe DGUSA/Evolve and NJPW too.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Why is this app not on the 360 yet? Somebody in either WWE or Microsoft is seriously screwing up.

    ReplyDelete
  158. On the plus side, TNA has their own Youtube subscription service and yet they never shut down any accounts that post their footage (even the channels that have the most recent PPVs even though it does make TNA look stupid to charge full price for a new PPV on Youtube when you can find it for free just by scrolling around YouTube for a few seconds).
Plus the Memphis stuff will never get yanked off of YouTube because that footage is owned by about 15 different parties and none of them have the letters "WWE" in their names, so there is that too.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Could work, but christ man...all I watch is WWE...the rest would be lost on me.
