  1. These Bryan Alvarez reports are getting worse by the day. It's not even news, he's just using the most basic power of deduction - if he's getting pushed, then obviously he will be in a major match at SummerSlam.

And why are there so many "reports" about SummerSlam? Maybe the WWE should focus on WrestleMania or the FOUR other PPVs before then??

    ReplyDelete
  2. It could mean they are planning out things in the long term. Remember, the reports they got in December about the Mania matches were all accurate, with the exception being Punk vs. HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Wrestlemania's probably already penned in by now... all that's left is to reveal the remaining matches over the upcoming RAWs, and run them come hell, high water, or fan riots. The second would be the most likely deterrent.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Meltzer is never accurate! There Farva, I saved you a post.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Melodramatic Randy MarshMarch 10, 2014 at 7:53 AM

MITB does seem perfect for Cesaro, he's right on the cusp of something big and the summer seems the best time for his push. Question is, will he be a face or heel?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Cesaro must be working out with Triple H more these days.

    ReplyDelete
  7. You're 50/50 on that being Farva's focus... he might have been unable to resist another shot at one Punk, CM.

    ReplyDelete
  8. No no no no. Not MITB. Have someone with their first world title with actual build up! Bryan is already a multi-time world champion, imagine if he was chasing and trying to get his first. Cesaro should win some big feuds, get involved in the main event scene, THEN win the world title. Not cash in a MITB to win.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I was JUST to make a bad Meltzer joke

    ReplyDelete
  10. CM PUNK AND MELTZER....Best in the world, more like worst in the world! Am I right---Farva.

    ReplyDelete
  11. If I could downvote you, I would.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Is Cesaro married? If so, those 2 couples could "Giant swing".

*thank you, thank you. I'll be here all day. *

    ReplyDelete
  13. I did, don't let the lack of showing numbers deter you.

    ReplyDelete
  14. He could win MITB as a face and announce his cash-in ahead of time like Cena and RVD did.

    ReplyDelete
  15. You get me! Close, but I like getting "petulant child" in as many CM punk posts as I can. Thanks a Farva staple

    ReplyDelete
  16. I miss that feature too. I barely bother upvoting anymore because of it. So what if you see 5 upvotes below your post? there might be 25 downvotes with it if there was the option. Opinions of strangers on the internet DOES matter, damn it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Looking at the roster and given the push reports, I think this is spot on. Is MITB still the July PPV? That gives him 3 months to get some big wins and then win the MITB. I would have to say at this point given the roster he would likely be the early favorite to win the case.

Isn't Cesaro with Sara Del Ray?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Melodramatic Randy MarshMarch 10, 2014 at 8:02 AM

Good job Stennick was banned before downvotes were disabled...

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wow, it's been 3 weeks and his name STILL gets brought up. He sure got into people heads, didn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I do also. Up votes mean nothing really. Nothing was more satisfying than seeing a 20+ downvotes comment. I have like 5 under my belt!

    ReplyDelete
  22. While I have just posted that I do feel Cesaro will win the MITB, I do agree with this idea. Off the top of my head, I can't really think of the last time there was an organic build leading to someone winning their first title without MITB. When was the last one? Cena? Batista? Those were all years ago. I can't really think of anyone else who had the big babyface organic build without the case.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I want Stennick unbanned.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Melodramatic Randy MarshMarch 10, 2014 at 8:05 AM

I think this is how Reigns will win his first world title, Royal Rumble win, Wrestlemania win. The old-fashioned way.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I actually think Meltzers good, it's just the nature of wrestling reporting is so speculative MOST if the time. It's a guy reporting on speculation or rumors most often.

Meltzer did a great job on the steroid trial stuff and monetreal. I'll give him that

    ReplyDelete
  26. He didnt get into most people's heads, really. He just did such a poor job at trolling that he stuck out like a sore thumb. I mean, his anti-smark trolling was done in the most laughable manner possible.

    ReplyDelete
  27. But he dared disagree with the general opinion. He deserved the chair.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "Major match" . Could Alvarez be more generic with his "reporting"?

    ReplyDelete
  29. That's what happens when you refuse to white knight CM Punk!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Cesaro using the ladder for a Big Swing and clearing the ring of dudes before climbing to win.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That was not the reason he was banned.
He was insane in his attacking of people. The anti-smark Gideon Stargrave if you will, just a lot more insulting to people.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Daniel Bryan at Summerslam, (if you don't count the WHC, which was definitely the official #2 title when Bryan won it)

    ReplyDelete
  33. You just see that you have a good chance at catching me and want to capitalize.

    ReplyDelete
  34. First Rybaxel, now Foxsana... WWE seems to love their stupid hybrid names.

That said, I hope they name the authority "Triple Staph."

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wish that people would grow some thicker skin here and just roll with the punches. It's sad that people have to get banned for such harmless stuff. They should just ignore, or have fun with it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Next Alvarez report: Dave Meltzer may or may not pay male hookers to dress up like Bret Hart and stroke him off while he watches NJPW.

    ReplyDelete
  37. He was a troll that brought zero meaningful contributions. Personally, I wouldn't have banned him but lets not pretend he was trying to express an opinion, either. It was clear of his intentions. I enjoyed making fun of him though.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah. It was number 2 but still considered a world belt. I was thinking Sheamus but he won the WWE title as a heel before his Rumble win as face.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Photoshop at it's finest:

    http://tctechcrunch2011.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/davehart.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  40. If they don't do it that way, they are insipid. Like most people, when the Shield debuted I personally liked Ambrose and Rollins with Reigns being far behind. He's improved a ton and I am digging him. Everyone sees him as a huge face and Ambrose as a huge heel with Rollins in the midcard. I really think if Rollins keeps getting better on the mic he can be a top 3 face also. Sort of HBK like. When all is said and done we will look back fondly on the Shield. Imagine when they reunite for some hot angle years down the line.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Foxsana segments should be sponsored by MedExpress and HealthCare.gov for the amount of injuries that occur in them.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ah yes, the new hit trend of being LAZY and mixing 2 names. FML.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Stranger in the AlpsMarch 10, 2014 at 8:24 AM

Tag team names are becoming less and less creative. JeriShow, ShowMiz, Rybaxel (really?). Or we get TEAM Rhodes Scholars, or TEAM Hell No. When Andre the Giant and Haku formed a team, they were called The Colossal Connection. Not terribly original, but not totally bland either. So, here's to the day when Christian and Sheamus form a team, and call themselves Christmus.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Melodramatic Randy MarshMarch 10, 2014 at 8:25 AM

I'm shocked they never called the Big Show/Rey team MysteriShow.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think people who always bash Meltzer think that the newsletter is just full of rumors and other stuff that he gets from his sources.
In reality, that stuff is all at the end of the newsletter and he has a few feature articles at the front that are all well-researched and written and he always does an awesome job with his obituaries
So many people also misintrepret the rumors, like the CM Punk one from last Monday, as they get them from second-hand sources. Even the stuff he reports that doesnt come to fruition does not mean it was made up. I have watched hundreds of shoot interviews and when the subject is asked about a rumor that did not happen, more often than not they confirm that it was true and elaborate as to why it did not happen.
If you want to get on Meltzer, get on him for his biases. The rumors stuff is the same as a beat reporter for a sports team.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Some of these Brain Alvarez updates are mind-numbing. Cesaro to be involved at in a major match at Summerslam? What does that even mean? Summerslam is like 5 months away. Five months ago I would have swore Bryan would be winning the title at Wrestlemania in a totally obvious victory (think Shawn at WM12 or Austin at WM14) but now he's not going to. Come Summerslam, I wouldn't be surprised if Cesaro was in the main-event or if he jobbed in the opening bout. Either one could happen.

    ReplyDelete
  47. They're all like celebrity couple names.... quite annoying

    ReplyDelete
  48. Cesaro, who is in line for a major push after WrestleMania, is also reported to be involved in a major match at SummerSlam.

    ReplyDelete
  49. They should have been called The Injury Reporters.

    ReplyDelete
  50. OK, I liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I see that the Shield has had some sort of reverse Hart Foundation effects.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I bet they would try to get Christmus over as a heel too.

    ReplyDelete
  53. He is trying to say that he will be pushed and it will lead into a big match at SummerSlam.

    ReplyDelete
  54. This cm punk thing has died down so I might need another soapbox soon.

  56. Their finisher, a power bomb by Sheamus followed by a frog splash by Christian that will be called naughty or nice.

  57. I don't care what anyone says - coming up with "Christmus" makes you a goddamn genius.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Unless it's against Cena, it's not going to be big in WWE's eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Did Jeff Hardy win his first with MITB? I really wasn't watching at that point. RVD? But those weren't big builds up if I recall.

  75. Caliber_Winfield_TCTMarch 10, 2014 at 9:11 AM

Hey guys. I'm here with a bit of a threadjack, but a serious one.

I want to come back to writing for the blog, but Scott isn't hip to it, and honestly, I don't blame him.

Two times now I've been pissed off and instead of just being cool about it, or talking about it with Scott, I took my ball and went home. It was a piss poor attitude, and an absolutely pathetic way for someone to act who claims to be a "professional" and wants to be taken seriously. I tend to be a bit immature at times, and need to realize that if I'm truly set on a career in entertainment, or hell, any career, things will not always go my way. When they don't, I shouldn't act like a child who's just going to storm off. You guys have my word that I will never act like that again. Scott doesn't owe me an apology whatsoever, and I was being an arrogant, ungrateful brat for saying he did.

I also had/have a bit of an ego problem. Honestly, I was more so playing up a character. I was taking ques from other guys about how to act, when honestly it wasn't who I truly was, and I regret it. I think I'm a decent writer, but far from great. I have a long way to go in that matter. That's one of the reasons I enjoy writing for the BoD so much, because of the large amount of feedback I get. You're not going to get this ridiculous, over the top "I'm a God!" sort of attitude from me anymore. You won't be getting the "character" of Caliber Winfield, but who I really am, which is basically a towned down version.

I'm sure there are some who are saying "Oh, you left the BoD, and no one followed you, and your website is failing and now you want attention". Honestly, that isn't true. The numbers for my website are better than ever. I just enjoy writing for you guys. I've made some good friends here, and I'd like to make more.

I have a lot of ideas for the BoD, and like before, I'll absolutely bust my ass for the website. One of those ideas will be the Podcast.

Basically, what I'm asking from all of you is some forgiveness, and perhaps voice your support for your old boy Caliber coming back. I won't be doing the QOTD, instead I plan on doing that fitness article I talked about a while ago. A place where I talk about everything from powerlifting, to bodybuilding, to DDPYoga & P90X. Creating a community for people here to need help getting in shape, but have no idea where to start. I'll also do some occasional wrestling reviews. So, that's what I'd like.

I'm truly sorry to those I've offened before, I'd like to wipe the slate clean 100% and completely start over. Actually, wait...

I'm not the boner you need, I'm the boner you deserve.

OK, now we can start over.

    ReplyDelete

Well, to be fair, Mick, a lot of people liked the idea when I talked about it a few months ago. Plus, you wouldn't have to read the article. And it'd be wrestling related, as I'd talk about various wrestlers work-out programs and show videos and such.

I know, but it would be a community sort of deal. Where people could come here and talk about their progression and things like that, with people they already know and like. A lot of guys here do DDP Yoga.

And sure, the information is out there, but honestly, it's so hard to know what's good & what's bad. I honestly can't think of a more confusing subject to try and get proper information on. Because there's so many sources, with so many people saying one thing, and someone saying another. I'm not saying I'd be a definitive source, but I've been at this seriously for 4 years, and could share my experience & knowledge.

Plus I'd talk about wrestling as well. Going over their work-out programs and such.

A lot of people liked the idea when I talked about it 8 months ago, which is why I brought it up. I wouldn't just say "hey, here's something no one asked for" kinda deal. There was support for it, so I want to bring it back.

I don't have a prototype written up yet. But I'd cover a wrestler's workout, answer emails, do supplement/workout reviews, a random match review I think deserves attention, and perhaps some other things if people have ideas.

It'd also be a place for guys who are into working out, or getting into it, to have a place to talk about it and get help/advice from people they trust. Plus a lot of guys are doing DDP Yoga, which I've tried and is one of the very few popular "workouts" that I endorse.

  137. So you'd cover how to use HGH/Steroids to work out? Again, if people want to find fitness, they'll go elsewhere. In a survey of BoD posters, 100% said they don't care.

  138. There is nothing worse than workout message boards. I assume everyone who posts there is a "bro"

You are a perplexing human being, Caliber. But you've never called me an Otter, so that's one point in your favor.

  141. whacha lift bro? Can you spot me bro?

  142. Hm. Take a moment - just a moment - and consider the spawn of that union.

  143. Do you even lift bro?

(Steps back from the computer, and bashes my head against the cinder block wall behind me roughly 40-50 times for using that line in any manner.)

    ReplyDelete
  144. That's the point. As Dougie and others have mentioned several times, it's always "Meltzer is right, but in the case he's wrong, it's not his fault, it's because they changed their minds". So he's technically never wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  145. That's charisma and anti-charisma mixing... oh shit, we're fucked, aren't we?

  149. Its also not like Meltzer is predicting what is going to happen, he's just reporting what's been told to him. Not sure how doing that gets him scorn, but whatever I guess.

  150. Watching Chi Town Rumble on the network....christ, most of these matches were fucking garbage. Really poorly paced. I have fond memories of Flair/Steamboat though...that is on my TV now.

You know, in my mark days, I always thought it said a lot that a guy who wasn't even in contention for the WWE belt could stroll into the NWA and immediately challenge for their belt.

Well, I know a little about steroids, and not too much about HGH. So yes, if people wanted some advice about steroids, I could provide that. Simply advice though, nothing more.

As for what I lift, which exercise are you talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  152. He does make a good point that finding accurate information of fitness can be confusion especially when you go to those bro-forums and every asshole there gives you a different answer

  154. You're close.

"That night I received a call from Dave Meltzer, who, with tears in his eyes, confided in me that I was always his favourite wrestler, so much so that he used to pay male escorts to dress up like me and stroke him off while he watched some of my classic matches. Dave said he felt embarrassed of his new hobbie and needed to confide in someone he could trust. I comforted him by assuring him that there was nothing abnormal about what he was doing and that I myself masturbated to my classic matches on a regular basis. After hearing this, Dave seemed relieved, and even suggested we watch my match against Davey from Summerslam and masturbate over the phone together. For the next 40 minutes I carried Dave through an intense masturbation as we watched me carry Davey to a classic match and just as the referee finished making the 3 count to end the match I could hear Dave let out a passionate moan of pleasure. We finished the conversation by joking about how obviously gay Shawn Michaels was, before Dave confided in me that I deserved to be WWF Champion."

    ReplyDelete
  164. THEN START YOUR OWN SHIT IF YOU THINK PEOPLE WILL READ IT. No one cares what wrestler's workouts are. Except you for some reason.

  172. Bodybuilding dot com has a specific WWE section as well where people can do if they are really interested.

I lift weights 6x per week and do HIIT a couple times a week. The last thing I want is to come to this blog and read about fitness and bodybuilding.

Yeah, but real-life health issues and a general apathy towards the current wrestling product have kept me from contributing more frequently. But I go all the way back to the ITW Board days with Scott, and I started talking about wrestling online back in 1996. I'm an old coot compared to some around here.

  179. This is clearly WAY too important to you, and if only for that reason, you shouldn't be allowed back. Jesus, this is Scott's blog and it's only an interesting side thing he does in addition to family and work.

For your own good, go find something out there in the real world.

Adam Rose should have a lady valet named Thorn (or Thorne if you want to get funky with the spelling).

  183. Team 3DMJ is by far the best. Nunez and Helms are brilliant. CGFitness is good. Matt Ogus' channel is pretty good as well. Also guys like Eric Cressey and Kelly Starrett are good.

  184. Hodgetwins are idiots.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Have her be one of the groupies that come to the ring with him.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Has Emma had a kayfabe last name? If not, just mix the two and make her Emma Thorn.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Wwf 1987 hit on a few I like. I also recommend this guy "Brad Gaines". He doesn't have alot of videos buy has lots if different exercises to help change shit up

    ReplyDelete
  190. Clearly, Emma belongs to Santino.

    ReplyDelete
  191. I don't think she's had a last name. That'd be awesome.if they made it Thorne. Then have Kevin Thorne come back as her evil protective brother and....my head hurts.

    ReplyDelete
  192. And that's part of the problem, ain't it? She deserves better.
