Batista Update
According to a backstage producer, Batista had a "good weekend" this weekend at house shows. This producer also believed that Batista needed time to adjust to the lack of interest in his return. He also reports now that Batista is a heel, they can play into the "Boo-Tista" chants and that originally, no one wanted to disagree with HHH about Batista, who pushed hard for his return, because going against HHH is "bad for job security."

New Age Outlaws Update
The reason for them not competing the past few weeks is due to Road Dogg suffering a back injury. Once he is ready to return, they will resume their feud with The Usos.

Oh thank goodness. I was afraid the outlaws would slip back into retirement.
ReplyDeleteGet off that ledge my friend. The Outlaws will be wrestling again
ReplyDelete1. Welcome to reality
ReplyDelete2. Flair was terrible on after-Raw. He looks terrible, his voice is not what it once was. Assuming this is a legends deal, so at least he'll get some steady income.
3. Oh you didn't know? Your ass better call somebody!!!! (like a doctor. You're old)
4. Don't care
5. Don't care
Go away Outlaws
ReplyDeleteI really don't like WWE incorporating Boo-tista into the angle. The reason why I don't like this is because now we have to listen to Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, etc. use "Boo-tista" on commentary. That makes me hate things.
ReplyDeleteI'm pulling for Ryder since he basically got the WWE involved with social media via his first YouTube show and twitter account and has nothing to show for it. I know he will probably never be the main guy, I always thought he would be a hell of a solid midcarder like Christian or Tito Santana.

It doesn't matter what I write or what points I make, but damn it all, people will believe the repetitious anti-Triple H-pro-smark-insider elitist horseshite even if some gindaloon with a keyboard typed it up. Christ on a pony.
By the way, the broad idea of getting Batista back on board was never a negative issue in and of itself. Nobody thought having a big star make his return was a bad thing except for the possibility of it hindering Daniel Bryan's chance to headline WrestleMania, and seemingly it hasn't.
Too long and didn't read? Well, Batista had a good showing at house shows this weekend, and Paul Levesque is to blame.
I am guessing he meant that Triple H wanted to keep Batista face despite the reception at the Rumble. It was HHH who thought having Batista hug him would make him a big face.
ReplyDeleteI still believe if Batista had not done that - like he had just come back to kick Orton's ass, skinny jeans or not, he would have been a decent face. The HUG OF DOOM ruined everything.
He is exactly what the WWE is lacking now - good, over midcard acts. Especially in the 3-hour era, they would be so much better off if they could have someone like Zach out there to entertain & kill some time.
ReplyDeleteHe'll always have this though vs. Dolph: http://www.downvids.net/wwe-tlc-039-11-part-1-zack-ryder-vs-dolph-ziggler-323096.html
That was everyone's prevailing opinion like 12 years ago. I cannot believe they've become regulars. But, HHH, and stuff.
ReplyDeleteWow, a good weekend! Give him the title now!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you never want to watch them win again, I would under-staaaaa-aaaaa-aand.
ReplyDeleteNo, he didn't mean that. Triple H and Batista hugged and all the while Trips has been a heel or an asshole tweener at best, which meant that they were sewing the seeds for Batista being a heel from that moment onward.
ReplyDeleteWWE at this point are doing the absolute right thing: Daniel Bryan is the focal point of not only his feud with Triple H, but also in regards to who will walk out of WrestleMania with the belt (and everybody knows it won't be Batista or Orton). Not only that, even Cena - John fucking Cena, the Hogan of this generation - has been relegated to a backseat match with Bray Wyatt.
No, once WWE fully comprehended that Daniel's the man and Batista wasn't the hero they were hoping for, they've put all of their eggs in his basket.
Even though they're probably far from being buddies, seeing as the Outlaws did a shoot video and bashed the fuck out of him. But yeah, HHH and stuff.
ReplyDeleteSo if WWE ignores chants, they're stubborn idiots who are in denial. If they DO acknowledge the chants, then... it's still wrong for some reason. Tough crowd.
ReplyDeleteWhat does "Good weekend" mean anyway? The quotes make it sound shady. Did he pick up a few rats?
ReplyDeleteAnd Road Dogg threw his back out while constantly dodging top of the cage moonsaults and over the top rope planchas.
There's no way, today, that they'll put the past away.
ReplyDeleteStranger's a good guy and Vince is a good guy... I really don't want to see the two of them duke it out. I'll block my ears while mommy and daddy argue.
ReplyDeleteI never got this. They went on a huge anti HHH tear for awhile. Bashed him numerous times, but since they were kayfabed in a stable together, they're buddies?
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's starting to move merch? I can't imagine them giving a shit about much when it comes to house shows beyond gate and merch.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is in-ring shape.
ReplyDeleteExactly, it's Smark Rhetoric 101: if there's an opportunity to bash Triple H, however ridiculous, take it by the horns and run with it.
ReplyDeleteIf you look back at their shoot and put yourself in Triple H's shoes, you'd probably want to rip Vince's head off for letting these ne'er-do-wells back into the company. I mean for fuck's sake, it's the Road Dogg and Billy Gunn!
For those who are unaware of what they said, here is a link to my review of their first shoot. It should also be noted that they made a follow up shoot and were apologetic and very careful about what they said.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.rspwfaq.net/2013/06/rf-video-shoot-interview-with-outlaws.html
Never need to see the Outlawz in a match again. I've been saying that since 2000 though, so I'm probably a little biased.
ReplyDeleteShould they call Chuck up for a B&C reunion?
ReplyDeleteHe's getting the title anyway. This is the WWE's way of making it seem like an organic way of doing it.
ReplyDelete"He's being such a great heel, we just have to give it to him!"
I'm bored with this conversation.
ReplyDeleteSkim milk vs 2%. It's time Skim got the big push. 2% has been on top for way too long, and Skim has a great big following. Yet, some how, I keep finding 2% in my fridge. My wife and kids are really into 2% but I think it's just because Big Milk is holding Skim down, not acknowledging that there's a real Skim Movement going on.
I like that Ryder video. Dude's got something and I still can't believe all that Cena/Kane/Eve shit from early 2012 actually happened.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a personal preference based on my dislike of the current commentary team. Also, I would be fine with them ignoring the chants and just turning him heel anyway.
ReplyDeleteMommy has decided to live life as a man, son.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch it. Is he still stuck in the "Jersey Shore" era? Nobody needs a character/gimmick change more than he does.
ReplyDeleteTopic unrelated to the current thread: TCWs next (and only) scheduled event is 4/4 (the Mid South legends show). When asked on Twitter, Michale Barry said TCW was on a break and "stay tuned." Jeff Jarrett is making a big announcement about his new promotion on Monday, 4/7. I'm not saying that Jarrett is taking over TCW and taking them national, but this is all quite the coincidence.....
ReplyDeleteIt's just him cutting a well-structured, intense 3 minute promo. Listen to it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good promo, actually.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit. Just watched raw on dvr. The yes movement segment was...wow. HHH and Steph KILLED it
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeballing their website for a while now, and all I've seen is dates around that Mid-South Legends show. There is some sort of supercard for that weekend, which is Wrestlemania weekend, I believe.
ReplyDeletenah, I'm a Heavy Cream Guy.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff - only thing I hate is the term 'Yes Movement'. Cringe.
ReplyDeleteUnrefined animal!
ReplyDeleteSugar fiend!
ReplyDeleteYes. Welcome to the internet.
ReplyDeleteDEAL WITH IT!
ReplyDeleteCareful. Next week it will be "TEAM Yes Movement."
ReplyDeleteFlair needs to be involved with Daniel Bryan somehow. Daniel Bryan is already fighting every other member of Evolution at WMXXX, so Flair needs to be there as well. I don't know what would be the best way, but they might as well give up on "The Authority" stable (Does anyone care about any other member except HHH?) and just make it Evolution again.
ReplyDeleteI have second row tickets for the May 17th ROH show! I get to see Okada live!! I can't wait! This will be amazing!
ReplyDeleteHe definitely needs a change, but after busting his ass to get himself over and being buried, my guess is he is going to just sit back and let them give him something.
ReplyDeleteWait, wait, I got it...in the Ryder Evolution, Khali can be Batista, Slaughter can be Flair and Bo Dallas can be Orton...
ReplyDeleteI just did. I liked him 10000x more there than I have the past 3 years combined. I did get a major Miz vibe though. (But not current Miz, 2010 Miz looking to prove himself).
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, folks, I think the best thing for Ryder would be a heel turn with the Wyatts.
ReplyDeleteThe Bryan heel turn may not have been the right way to do it - although I had an idea I liked for Bryan as a Wyatt attempting to break the Streak - but I do like the idea of Bray "converting" a former "flavor of the month" midcard face who isn't getting on TV regularly. Maybe even two (although not Kofi). If they stretch the Cena feud out past Mania, I could see some former friends of his falling under Bray's spell when he talks about how Cena never looked out for them, and he's a fraud like Bray was saying last night.
I still think the Wyatt gimmick is awesome, but they need to get something going for them soon or it'll peter out before its time.
I don't think the company should be blamed outright for Batista's failure to reconnect as a face, inasmuch as being unable to predict how vehemently the fans were going to reject anyone new as a top face in place of Bryan. They certainly did him no favors with the awkward booking, though, positioning him as buddies with the Authority and showing up long enough for a cup of coffee before winning the Rumble outright. Character wise, face Batista doesn't really stand out in the PG Era, but Hollywood Dave would fit like a glove. Maybe he could tap into some of that 2010 magic for a post-Mania run with Bryan?
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I fear is his conditioning; so far he's looked terrible in the ring, sucking wind after five minutes. As a heel, more often than not he'll need to control the lion's share of the action to build heat on the face (if they're still in the business of doing wrestling).
"...if they're still in the business of doing wrestling."
ReplyDeleteWhats wrestling? Im only familiar with "sports entertainment. "
He didn't beat up any fans maybe.
ReplyDeleteActually, if WWE is so insistent on bringing back former stars, they could get some mileage out of the fact that Triple H has a history with so many stables. As you noted, he's already feuding with the other Evolution members (Batista and Orton). Why not incorporate the Outlaws and X-Pac, as part of Triple H's DX? And bring back HBK as part of the original DX. If Hall or Nash are able, why not bring them in too, alluding to Triple H's Kliq history? As long as it's handled correctly, it could be a fun, logical use of some former talent.
ReplyDeleteHey, hey, hey; shouldn't you be pissing yourself in fear, beanie? Work on your sign pointing for BoD Mania.
ReplyDeleteHe was in good spirits? Possibly due to all the tanning he's done in his 45 years but his skin is pretty thin - maybe he's not as pissy about crowd reactions as he had been?
ReplyDeleteI think that's part of Ryder's problem....the lack of significant change. In fairness, it's not as if he gets any TV time to create a new character, but it feels like all of his changes are superficial. I could just imagine him saying., "I don't understand....I (grew my hair out/started wearing long tights/stopped wearing a headband and sunglasses), why isn't anything different?"
ReplyDelete::Busts out sledgehammer::
ReplyDelete::Busts out trainer bra::
ReplyDeleteCole did acknowledge a few times on Raw that it's "convenient" that HHH's former stablemates the Outlaws would just "happen" to get a tag title match out of the blue.
ReplyDeleteHe needs a complete character overhaul, he needs to never say 'broski' or 'woo woo woo' ever again, and he needs to work on not sounding like a giant goof whenever he's on the mic. As he is now he's one of the reasons people are embarrassed to watch pro wrestling.
ReplyDeleteIn the words of Darth Vader... "Nooooooooooo!"
ReplyDeleteWrestleMania will end with Orton, Batista, Triple H, and Flair reuniting as Evolution and standing over a prone Bryan. It's probably inevitable now that Bootista is a heel.
ReplyDeleteOr, if WWE wants Bryan to have a gigantic "YES!" chant moment at WrestleMania, they'll save it until the following Raw.
no mention of billy gunn's encephalitis?!
ReplyDeleteread the live thread... some people were adamant in shitting all over it, believe it or not
ReplyDeleteRandy Orton had a good weekend as well. He only shitted in one diva's gym bag instead of two.
ReplyDeleteDe-Evolution X?
ReplyDeleteYes Movement is great, and I honestly can't think of anything better for it.
ReplyDeleteI believe the proper grammatical reference is "shat".
ReplyDeleteAlmond milk.
ReplyDeleteTrust me.
Yep, it's almost as if they go out of their way to find things to complain about. Complaining is cool, ya know! All the cool kids do it!
ReplyDeleteBetter 2% be on top than homogenized. At least 2% gives us ****+ ppv matches every month, whereas all Homogenized ever did was "punch, punch, get beat up, homogenize up, leg drop".
ReplyDeleteso, placement of the hhh/bryan match: the obvious solution is right before the main, right? so that dbry doesnt have a chance to rest and gets thrown to batista and orton right away
ReplyDeleteproblem is, you have to have the intro's for batista and orton, and bringing them down before the hhh/dbry match sort of telegraphs if they immediately storm the ring after him
wouldn't he consider that a bad weekend?
ReplyDelete
