  1. "The reason that Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins have been teaming up in tag action as opposed to Rollins & Roman Reigns is that they are setting up the other two to turn on Reigns in the future."

We were JUST talking about this...face turns should be initiated by the face turning on the heels after they do something heelish. NOT, the heels just deciding to kick out or turn in the face.

    Small nitpick

  2. If this recreates the magic of Owen Hart's Slammy(ies) (especially with a speech), I'm all in.

    ReplyDelete
  3. So, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, is, in essence, a giant rib on whoever wins.

    ReplyDelete
  4. So if RVD is a surprise entrant and doesn't win, it hurts his momentum right off the bat.

If he does win, they just spent all that time building up Miz, Ziggler, Show or Sheamus as logical winners.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Does the news that the winner of the battle royal will be carrying around a trophy after the win limit who we expect to be winning? That sounds like a heel thing, so you can likely eliminate all the faces from contention.

Of course, all the people we've been talking about as a favorite - Big Show, Sheamus mainly - are faces. If they're turning Cesaro face, that takes him out, too.

    I'm probably overthinking this.

  6. RVD could have a good showing in the Battle Royal and not win and come out of it okay.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I see no need to break up the Shield until they've had a long run as faces.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Unfortunately, Hogan will receive a trophy for hosting Wrestlemania that is larger than the Andre Battle Royal trophy.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'd mark out for a Shane cameo at mania. Half the crowd probably wouldn't recognize him now that he looks like he's 60, but it'd still be cool

    ReplyDelete
  10. This 30 man battle royal is a really lazy way to get everyone on the card. It'll probably only last like 10 minutes, too. I miss the old days of WrestleMania where they'd have 15 matches on the card and most would have a little angle going into it, and Gorilla Monsoon would call them all "a main event anywhere in the country!"

    ReplyDelete
  11. When HHH inserts himself into the title match after losing to Bryan, they can redo "a McMahon in every corner!"

    ReplyDelete
  12. They should give the winner a title shot at Extreme Rules or something.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That is not how you handle a battle royal trophy.

Dammit, that is not how you handle a battle royal trophy!

THAT IS NOT HOW YOU HANDLE A BATTLE ROYAL TROPHY!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Let the "Shane McMahon is an anonymous investor with Comcast" rumors begin.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Disagree. There can be good motivation for the heels to turn on the face; jealousy always works.

    ReplyDelete
  16. What is this company's obsession with breaking up popular/successful teams?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Vince hates tag team wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Singles stars generate more revenue than teams.

    ReplyDelete
  19. RVD: Hey Vince dude, I totally forgot already, who am I wrestling at 'Mania?
Vince: Um, you stopped working for us again. Six months ago.
    RVD: Cool.
    Vince: ...
RVD: Oh, super sorry, my bad, Cheez-It? (extends box to Vince)
Vince: (picking from handful of Cheez-Its) *sighs* I guess we could throw you in the Andre battle royale.
RVD: Nice. Well, I gotta split (drops into split leg position on floor), ha ha, no man, just messing with you, but seriously I gotta go talk to my guy. (hugs Vince, leaves)
    Vince: (smells jacket)

  20. They missed their window for Reigns now...the couple singles matches he had showed he's not ready to break away yet and the crowd's have cooled down on his aura. They were distinctly louder for Ambrose & Rollins the last couple weeks from what I could tell. So of course NOW they'll break him away where he'll be dead in the water.

  21. "It is expected that the winner of the battle royal will be carrying
around a miniaturized Andre the Giant trophy for a "while" after the
    victory."

If by a while, they mean more than 30 seconds, by trophy standards that would be, in Andre's immortal words, "a mighty long time..."

    ReplyDelete
  22. He is. He told me.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ambrose is the least over of the three.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Disagree, he's just better at heelery. They pop big for Rollins' moves and for the team in general, but Reigns' reactions have been getting more and more anemic in comparison. They need to stay together, more than anything.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Agreed. It used to be the opposite, but Rollins has been tearing it up in the ring with a lot of cool looking moves and really connecting with the fans, he's probably the most over at this point. I'd rather them just stay together for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I always liked thr ppv with tons of medium length matches than the ones with a half dozen really long matches. I guess its the ADD in me.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Not in 1970's NWA territories!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah they should definitely job Reigns out or just cut him altogether. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ambrose has also shown the least.

I will add that Ambrose seems like he will shine more as a singles than in a faction but for right now, he is the least over.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yeah not what I said at all. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ouch, I hope you have gimmick infringement insurance! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Window is closed!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I see your point. Regardless, I think we can both agree the time for the split is not anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Agree on that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. How did you come up with another brilliant original joke?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Where did they go? Portland? Let's go to Portland!

    ReplyDelete
  37. In this case, though, the two Shield members will be turning heel on the face Reigns. The face turn already happened last week.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ambrose is not good as a babyface and a much better heel. However, he hasnt done anything to stand out besides making odd facial expressions. When he breaks away as a singles, then he can start using promos but right now, he is the least over. Plus, his ring work does not stand out at all. Rollins is great and Reigns has impressive signature spots. Ambrose does a Piper impersonation in the ring.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Or an automatic spot in the Elimination Chamber? Might make for a nice wild card entrant to that match if you don't want to build a championship feud.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Just ask Hawk and Animal.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Does that mean the big trophy will be broken?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'd have the shield break up at survivor series in a major elimination match, when last man reigns is about to win the match on his own, but ambrose and Rollins turn on him to make him lose. Then, have him feud with them till the rumble, and set up a major wrestlemania match for him after then.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oy vey. You really genuinely believe Reigns isn't the dude?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm assuming that the trophy is going to be inevitably stolen and/or broken, right?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I do what so many comedians have done before me: steal a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  46. They have no intention of pushing RVD. Not sure why they are even bringing him back.

    ReplyDelete
  47. They'd have to wait 10 months to get their reward? No thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Robin Williams?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Just looking at the list though, a title shot seems a bit out of their range. Unless RVD came in to put DBry over a few times. But who wants RVD as a heel?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Maybe the miz will win the battle royal. He can have something else to talk about then other than that time he beat cena at wrestlemania 27...

    ReplyDelete
  51. That Reigns vs Bray Wyatt match from a couple of weeks ago was pretty boring. With that said I think it's best to go the Bret Hart route and keep them together until they have solid, definitive plans for them after the breakup.

I'm kind of worried that they haven't set up any after WM plans. Backlash is going to be a bunch of rematches, isn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'd like to see the battle royal end in a four-way to tie. So to settle it they break the trophy up in four pieces. I swear it sounded like a good idea before I started typing.
