Today on the totally cool and random live stream: the Smackdown pre-show, Old School goes back to Maple Leaf Gardens on 4/20/85 for Hogan vs. Orndorff, and then Smackdown Backstage Pass after the show ends on SyFy. ECW Hardcore TV hits late night, which I think is a very good timeslot for it. It kind of gives it that feel that it had back when it originally aired, where it's not suitable for all viewers so let's play it late at night. Put your thoughts on the Network......right here.
They should couple that with Shotgun for a double dose of raunchy late night programming.
ReplyDeleteI've been having some probems with the WCW archive. I was watching Slamboree 93 and Halloween Havoc 93 and both streams crapped out before I could finish the shows.
ReplyDeleteI really wish the network would remember where a show stopped, like Netflix and Hulu do.
Anyway, I'm trying Hlloween Havoc 96 today (I have a day off and lots better to do... but F it I'm watching this all day).
And start re-running Saturday Night's Main Events at 11:30pm on Saturdays
ReplyDeleteBut just once a month just for the build lol
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool idea. I remember the episode held inside some bar in San Antonio before Rumble '97, where Terry Funk went nuts. What a different atmosphere for the beginning of that show's run.
ReplyDeleteon the ps4, i wish they could hold the option of seperating all the ppvs by year... as opposed to watching backlash 1999, 2000, 2001
ReplyDeleteI want it to be like select ppv option as well as a select year, so i can watch
RR99
NWO99
WM15
Or basically go into a settings screen and customize the way you want your shows set up.
I love the idea of ecw in a late night slot, but how are they not running superstars on Saturday morning and wcw Saturday night at 6:05? C'mon, guys, it's right there.
ReplyDeleteI've got the day off because I'm going to wizard world in sacramento, so I'm planning on watching the network all morning and then going to dig through comics all day. Best day ever!
Did you read the rumor that Marvel is ceasing all print and going digital?
ReplyDeleteI agree completely with the need for a 6:05 airing of Saturday Night. Hopefully someone realizes how they're missing out on a fun callback to the 90s.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. On my laptop you can view each promotion's ppvs by year but not on ps3 for whatever reason.
ReplyDeleteEventually, id love for them to adopt the netflix way of showing the next episode in 20 seconds or so.
ReplyDeleteWatch WM 28... in 20 seconds the RAW after WM...
Nice and lazy.
I'd never leave the house!
ReplyDeletemaybe on saturday nights...after 8:05pm
ReplyDeleteApple TV has it set up by year; I don't know why they set it up in alphabetical order of show name makes no sense on my PS3.
ReplyDeleteMan, that may just completely kill the comic shop business. Marvel generally dominates market and dollar share, usually edging out DC for top marks.
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't read that. I find that hard to believe. Even though print is probably dying, there are still a few hundred thousand people that buy print every month. I don't see why they'd want to throw out the millions that they make on print ever month.
ReplyDeleteThat would be simultaneously the best and worst thing that ever happened to me. I could see hours of my life flying by.
ReplyDeleteEspecially the one off European shows... they are basically out of continuity for the most part and are just by themselves.
ReplyDeleteIm dont have an ocd but arghhh thats killing me.
Randomly put on last year's Survivor Series just to watch Roman Reign's performance in the Survivor Series tag match. Been on a bit of a shield kick lately after that awesome match they had at the Rumble.
ReplyDeleteTheres a lengthy debate on my fb about it. Itll kill comic shops but if im marvel... backed by disney and the kids arent reading books collectively
ReplyDeleteFuck em.
Go digital and get the long money via subscriptions.
Good for marvel. Bad for the mom n pop.
I'm curious as to how many people buy digitally every month in comparison to print. For whatever reason they don't release the digital numbers like they do the print numbers. Personally, I mainly buy digitally when there is a sale going on as I don't like paying full price for a digital copy when I could get the print issue for the same.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it is, but I can't stand the Usos. They have decent matches, but something about them just urks the shit out of me.
ReplyDeleteI stopped buying physical copies of books when I got my iPad, mainly for the convenience of not going to the comic shop.
ReplyDelete5-10 years ago? My favorite part of the week was going to my local comic shop and shooting the shit with people for an hour or so before going home to read. I just don't have that kind of time now.
Instead, I pay for the comics on the app on my laptop and transfer the purchases to my iPad (avoiding the iTunes taxes - screw you, Apple!).
to me, theres no reason to care.
ReplyDeleteWWE on several occasions have given me no reason to care about new characters they trot out, instead they just want me to cheer and boo just cuz....
You cant have a guy say "Im wrestler X" have a 3 minute match and expect me to care about them overnight.
Unless its Emma... Im digging it. The bubbles... the little dance she does with her hands. As soon as I saw walk out and try to skin the cat... I knew she was special. She is either very good,or someone good is in her ear.
WCW on COMPUSERVE can listen to Halloween Havoc!!!
ReplyDeletewhat's a compuserve? Is that like an iPod?
Even better!
ReplyDeleteFuj, I emailed you a link to acquire some of the Portland shows you were asking about
ReplyDeleteI do read a few series digitally now that we have an ipad, but I think the main reason why I still buy print is that I really like my local shop owner. Like you said, I like going into the shop on Wednesday and hanging out, talking to people about comics and whatnot.
ReplyDeleteMost of the digital books I read are marvel digital codes I buy from people on ebay. People buy print books and sell the digital code for usually 50% of cover price. I've read all the recent marvel events that way.
Im about to watch Mickie vs Trish to see if its still snipped on the network and i was thinking to myself
ReplyDeleteMickie James was given one shot to get over... but it was probably the best single women's push of all time.
I mean a lesbian angle with Trish Stratus and Mickie is no slouch in the looks dept...
If she didnt get over with that...she might as well had just quit on the spot.
good looking, I was planning on doing that today, but last night I was fucked up.
ReplyDeleteI wrote some shit in the Impact thread that probably made no sense at all about WarGames.
Back when they had women feuds that people cared about. Might as well scrap the division now. No one cares.
ReplyDeleteI advocate that after Trish, Mickie James is the best woman's wrestler of the Diva's era.
ReplyDeleteWCW Saturday Night at 6:05 or GTFO
ReplyDeleteSo for those with the xbox360 is there a reason all of the In Your House choices are from 97?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if they are still working on adding shows and the WCW and ECW PPVS?
Jeff Jarrett is like the worst babyface ever. They've got Flair out here with him and still no one cares.
ReplyDeleteI care about AJ.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I'll care about Emma and Paige.
i definitely agree on that.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I remember a guy like Razor Ramon coming in and he had weeks of vignettes building him up. You knew exactly who this guy was and that he was a huge dickhead before you ever saw him walk out to the ring. I guess they still do that from time to time these days but it's almost always with useless characters like Los Matadores or Tensai.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I'm totally on the Emma bandwagon. I watched her in NXT and as soon as I saw her struggle to skin the cat the first time, I was into it. Plus, you know, schwing.
My enjoyment of going to comic shops ended when I moved to Queens three years ago. The small-town feel of shops in Ithaca, NY, Greenfield, Mass., and Mount Pleasant, Ill., really kept me coming back week after week.
ReplyDeleteMidtown Comics, while an awesome place to go to pick up trades and merchandise, doesn't have the same vibe and can be off-putting sometimes. And some of the smaller places I've visited have been cramped and claustrophobia-inducing.
If I ever end up moving back upstate, and my favorite comic shop is still around, I'm going back to print, but that seems unlikely right now.
Like whole package?
ReplyDeleteCuz Lita can be argued. She had immense popularity... looked great (im not a fan of her jawline) and had crossover appeal/potential
I'm getting frustrated by this myself, but don't worry: I'm sure some asshat is going to come along any second to solve all our problems by telling us to get a Sony instead.
ReplyDeleteI have maintained for years that if world leaders were able to relate in the way that comics/gaming store patrons were we would have world peace in no time.
ReplyDeleteI think Emma and Page are good but they seem set on making Emma a comedy character and are more focused on "Total Diva's" than the division itself.
ReplyDeleteSummer Rae, Paige, and Emma all have potential but will they let them use it or just go in the direction they are going in right now.
I will still say that after his wife died of cancer, had he returned full time and kept the Karen Angle shit under wraps, he could have ridden that babyface train forever.
ReplyDeleteAs far as wrestling, Lita was really sloppy.
ReplyDeleteI liked Jazz as a wrestler, she was really underrated in that department.
But I don't want to pay $300 to buy a system to watch a network that is $10 a month.
ReplyDeleteSettle their differences over games of Magic, Warhammer and D&D?
ReplyDeleteHer music is annoyingly catchy... I don't want to like it, but whenever I hear it I can get it out of my head for a while.
ReplyDeleteShe's not horrible to look at either.
Even some Superstars/Challenge on Saturday mornings would be awesome
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I have against the XBox is the fact you have to pay for internet service for your home.
ReplyDeleteThen you pay for XBox live (after paying for the console)
Then you pay for the network which is a necessary evil.
Just Microsoft is just raping. I heard the XBox live service is light years ahead of PSN though. Im just cheap as shit.
Indeed... but it is more of a general statement... being in those places I have never seen so many diverse people getting along without a problem because of their common interests... I have actually considered writing a piece on it in the past.
ReplyDeleteJazz is good, just never put on a platform to get over.
ReplyDeleteLike is it cool to say holy trinity of Atittude divas
Trish
Lita, Mickie?
Watching Raw, they advertised the Doink-Perfect KotR qualifying match for Superstars and I really wish I could see it. I know they ended up having a couple of rematches, but did they show the whole thing on Raw? I can't remember...
ReplyDeleteThe X360 is still not fixed yet.
ReplyDeleteDamn, my iPhone was up and running the minute the network went live
You definitely have to find the right shop. I've never experienced a very big shop like Midtown, but I've had a shop or two that annoyed me. When I was in college, I had a pull at a shop for a few years where the owner would randomly be a total dick. Other times he was a normal guy, but once in a while he would totally piss me off. The shop I go to now I've been using for three or four years and the owner really gets customer service. He's been in business since the 90's comic boom and doesn't even read comics anymore, but he's super friendly and helpful. A while back I needed an issue that was out of print. He had a regular customer he knew was going out on business, so he had the guy check some of the shops out of state and pick up the book I needed. He only charged me cover price, so I know he didn't make anything on the book. He just did it to be a nice guy. That type of thing will keep you coming back to a shop.
ReplyDeleteSHe is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteShe reminds me of Shantelle Taylor
I like Mickie ok, but I don't put her in the same league as those 2... to me they are like the Rock/Austin of women's wrestling... except you can fap to them... allegedly
ReplyDeleteLita had a great, unique look. That made her stand out.
ReplyDeleteEven Jazz was unique but she didnt have the sex appeal which meant she did not get the push
I have Superstars/Challenge from 86-93 anyway.
ReplyDeleteI have way too much wrestling on portable hard drives and my computer
The live stream can be used so much better and Im sure I am jumping the gun, but holy fuck WM25 everyday?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteIt wasnt that good the first time I saw it.
Late night programming like infomercial time should be chalk full of MSG house shows and CHV releases
Same shit with the PS4, you have to pay extra to go online.
ReplyDeleteEspecially the 1020/84 Toronto Show.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fucking terrible card
You guys can spend all your time playing Halo 3 while all of us playstation owners will be reliving David Flair's greatest hits. The view is nice from our Sony Ivory Tower.
ReplyDeleteThats fair.
ReplyDeleteThat really bummed me out when I read it. One of the main reasons I chose PS3 over XBOX was to not have to pay for the monthly online fee. I think it's bullshit to pay to play online. But, I rarely play online anyways so I can go without.
ReplyDeleteNo you dont.
ReplyDeleteYou have to pay for Playstation Plus. or to get xtra packs of CoD and NBA2k14 and games like such but for basic, naw its free
Just got home after working an overnight? What you guys watching? Nothing in my queue is appealing right now.
ReplyDeleteStarting No Way Out 2000 right now. Want to watch that Cactus/HHH Hell in a Cell again.
ReplyDeleteLita was not a well-rounded wrestler, and hurt herself A LOT. She damn near broke her neck on the title change she did with Trish at the end of '04, then blew out her knee a month later. She was just too dman sloppy.
ReplyDeleteMickie was much more well-rounded, was a lot better on the microphone, and with her success in TNA, she had a much longer run, too.
Like that one. Been crushing 99-01 wwe stuff
ReplyDeleteI had an XBox360 for about two years that I used solely as a game console. Never connected it to the internet, never set up an XBox Live account, just played single player games and used my Wii for Netflix.
ReplyDeleteI am actually watching the 2002 RoH Round Robin Show, the second show ever produced by the company.
ReplyDeleteLooking back, Christopher Daniels should have ditched that shitty "Fallen Angel" gimmick years ago. He would have been a bigger star as a result.
Funny to see Bryan Danielson, who looks like a 16 year old high school wrestler
Lita and Edge together was great stuff. That was when I thought she was her best.
ReplyDeleteI went to a PWG show in 2005 where some dumbass fan would not stop chanting "FAL-LEN AN-GEL" during an entire 20 minute Daniels match and I've fucking hated Daniels ever since.
ReplyDeleteHer cleavage was A level stuff during the Rated R Superstar era.
ReplyDeleteThat was a loser indy-gimmick
ReplyDeleteHe is a great wrestler who has personality and that was what he went with for the majority of his career.
Yeah you do, you can't play multiplayer games unless you pay the online sub.
ReplyDeleteI just don't get this. Right before the network launch, I was hoping and praying that there would be a WWE Network app on my Apple TV, and some Microsoft fanboy was telling me how stupid I was for paying for Apple TV, since "Apple is too restrictive."I paid $100 for the Apple TV box IN 2010 and haven't spent a dime on it, since, and it has everything I want.
ReplyDeleteHow does Microsoft justify charging an extra fee just go to online to watch WWE, Nextlfix, Hulu et al? "If you want to pay them $10/month, you have to pay US $10/month first?" How is THAT not being restrictive?
Halloween Havoc 96. Still trying to watch the stuff I've never seen before.
ReplyDeleteIt seemed outdated even then. Like a dude who is still talking about how the Matrix is the greatest movie of all time and listening to Disturbed.
ReplyDeletePop in WCW Souled Out 1998 to see some good wrestling to wake you up.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Lucha Car-Crash match ever is on that show
yeah...im talking to my brother in law right now and you are right.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is I play DC Universe Online and you dont need Plus to play it so I thought the shit was just like PS3.
Cuz I never got any games for the PS4. No Duty no NBA, nothing. The only thing I play on the ps4 is DC and watch WWE/netflix. I never knew.
I first saw Danielson on a public access wrestling show in the early 90s. I thought he was okay but that this guy named Kevin Quinn would be the breakout star. Oops. The Fallen Angel thing was way too Gen-X stupid.
ReplyDeleteWhich show won the poll to watch on Saturday night?
ReplyDeleteWhen did over-the-top rope stop being a dq in WCW?
ReplyDeleteI'm mad enough to admit I teared up when Cactus lost that one.
ReplyDeleteVoting ends at noon but Superbrawl II is winning by a landslide
ReplyDeleteWCW Uncensored 98 I believe. I remember them talking about it in the Giant-Nash match.
ReplyDeleteThis of course begs the question, why the fuck do I remember shit like this?
When Watts left, I think
ReplyDeleteAnd hottest... like seriously she was historically hot during that era.
ReplyDeleteThat's not a bad call. Haven't ever seen it in its entirety, just the AWESOME opener. There a pretty god raven match and some other good stuff iirc
ReplyDeleteLita was terrible as a in ring worker. Sloppy as shit, that goes without saying.
ReplyDeleteWhat I am saying is the thong gimmick she had, her look and the package with the Hardyz. Her suff when it hit was awe inspiring and she obviously had an effect on girls cuz of AJ now.
But as a worker. Naw... Mickie and Trish had her beat. Even though...... Mickie was a bother as well
This is being said as more of a mickie fan, I just dont wanna discount what Lita brought to the Divas.
Looking back, how the hell did WCW not see that they could get La Parka over as a midcarder? That guy was over with the crowds
ReplyDeleteI'm not disagreeing with that, but I'm not sure that her stint as Edge's second should help her bonafindes as top Diva.
ReplyDeleteIt would be like saying Flair's the greatest wrestler ever because of how well he managed Evolution, wouldn't it?
HHH never needed anyone to put him over. Cough cough
ReplyDeleteYou aint never lied about that.
ReplyDeleteShe was absolutely fine.
As long as you have seen the cage match between the Hollywood Blonds and Dos Hombres you're good with Slamboree '93.
ReplyDeleteWell, you are a doctor of facts.
ReplyDeleteI agree about that but she was her most entertaining then and hot as fuck
ReplyDeleteLita is #3 on my list. Outside of her matches with Trish, did she ever have a good match?. And was there any difference in Lita the wrestler in 2000 and 2006 when she retired? I don't really think so.
ReplyDelete*nods*
ReplyDeleteWhy did he even create rules like that.
ReplyDeleteBecause WcW...
ReplyDeleteProbably not.
ReplyDeleteIm not hung up on the work as opposed to the whole package. the 5 tool athlete
Last weekend I SURVIVED Royal Rumble '94. My present for that survival--WrestleMania X! Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't really seen how they plan to use Emma or Paige long-term on the main roster. I hope it's for feuds with AJ (who is a serious wrestler). In the summer when the focus was on Total Divas, they had the AJ/Kaitlyn feud going, which had nothing to do with the stupid reality show and produced some pretty good matches.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the worst WWE PPV that is good watching for the comedy value?
ReplyDeleteI miss non insane Kurt Angle.
ReplyDeleteThere's enough good wrestling and stuff to mock there that it should be fun.
ReplyDeleteOver-the-top being a dq was WAY before Watts.
ReplyDeleteQuick thought: WWE Network is a security blanket.
ReplyDeleteTotal Divas gets canceled? Ship to the network...
Smackdown has to move another network... WWE Network.
And guess what? Now we have to pay for it...
Fucking genius
Pillman vs. Liger is one of the best opening matches ever
ReplyDeleteKing of the Ring 95 is pretty bad.
ReplyDeleteNo Mercy 04?
ReplyDeleteSo like, when the fuck are we gonna get Legends House?
ReplyDeleteOh, really? I just thought it was part of Watts rules like no standing on the turnbuckle, or taking away the mats.
ReplyDeleteIt's an old NWA rule, so like all good NWA rules they invented it to give another way for the heel to cheat.
ReplyDeleteI sent in a submission when they were doing he contest.
ReplyDelete"The Old Boy's Home"
Ah.
ReplyDeleteWhat do to think the cost breaking point is for the network? If they go 11.99, that won't deterr anyone right?
ReplyDeleteGAB 04
ReplyDeleteI think that was kind of the point. Although they're seriously misjudging anyone PAYING for Total Divas.
ReplyDeleteBut as long as they keep Raw and Smackdown on cable, yeah, they can ship everything else to the network and we'll keep paying because we're getting all the ppvs for free.
I definitely wouldn't go $15. But I probably wouldn't bat an eye if they raised it to 11.99.
ReplyDeleteI wont cancel if they raise to 11.99
ReplyDeleteWhich is funny because I happily used to pay $40 a month for ppv.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather they get sponsers like Hulu before they raise the cost.
ReplyDeleteKayfabe Manor.
ReplyDeleteI can easily rationalize a much higher police point just by doing the math with the ppv. I think mones pretty high tho until I get bored with it
ReplyDelete"no big star laid down for me"
ReplyDeleteThe way that Hulu handles commercials really puts me off.
ReplyDeleteI met Jimmy Hart at a Clearwater bar a few weeks ago. He wouldn't fucking shut up about legends house.
ReplyDeleteAs a guy who was ordering EVERY ppv during that era, even I didn't buy that one.
ReplyDeleteWhy? They last like 1:30 TOPS and are usually not that bad.
ReplyDeleteVince would have made him a star... a jobber to the stars, but a star
ReplyDeleteI have both because I stack my $$$ to the ceiling (also the PS3 was free)
ReplyDeleteHe also said Daniel Bryan was going to win the Rumble.
ReplyDeleteYou can view the schedule ahead for the next week and a half. Bunch of new old school shows coming out along with more RAW shows, etc. Hopefully they are good about adding this stuff on demand immediately after premiere.
ReplyDeleteHe would have fought the undercard shows during the Attitude Era, but would have made money with his masks and gotten the chair gimmick over.
ReplyDeleteSteiners vs. Arn/Bobby is really good too, shitty finish aside.
ReplyDeleteYea. That bastard. The more I think about it the more I think he was just happy to talk. He was by himself in a corner
ReplyDeleteHonestly, when watching Hulu, my feed almost ALWAYS ends up needing to buffed during commercials, and then my stream screws up.
ReplyDeletePlus, watching the same commercials OVER and OVER again during an hour-long program is obnoxious.
Theres a bunch of shit MSG house shows on the network that Bayless will review and I will never watch in a million years...
ReplyDeletebut im paying for it.
Seems the more money we come across, the more problems we see...
ReplyDeleteBest of Raw at 11? Freaking SOLD
ReplyDeleteEven the Austin/Zbyszko vs. Windham/Rhodes match was really good too
ReplyDeleteLike Virgil: wrestling superstar?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds better than the 6 minutes Spike has.
ReplyDeleteMy daily "random PPV that I don't remember much about" - Vengeance 2007, which took place on my 26th birthday. I vaguely remember watching this in a bar, and being angry that Benoit wasn't there. Scott has never reviewed this one to my knowledge. I think this was the end of the line for my "watch shows live on Mondays and PPV" wrestling fandom (thanks to the Benoit stuff that came out later that week).
ReplyDeleteWhat was the gift that kept on giving? Edge/Batista XXXVIII? 6 pack challenge for the WWE title that included Mick Foley and Lashley? I'm going to go with the open challenge laid out by Deuce and Domino for the tag belts, which I can't believe they actually held.
Their finisher was actually called "Crack 'em in da mouth?" Cherry was quite a dime, at least.
No misspelled sign tho
ReplyDeleteNot bad...Too insidey I would say.
ReplyDeleteI gave up on the October 84 MSG show when I tried sitting through it a year ago.
ReplyDeleteSome of those house shows are insufferable
:: Pours out a 40.oz of Old E ::
ReplyDeleteYears before that became a meme, I saw Virgil sitting alone at comic con in San Diego. In the next booth over, Foley was signing. I went to meet Foley but didn't want to pay for an autograph. He said, "Okay, but I better not find out you spent all your money on Virgil." Huge pop from me.
ReplyDeleteRandom thought. Wouldn't it be awesome if they did like a hard knocks type of wwe documentary. Like show creative, the wrestlers going over a match, the backstage, tv productiin, etc.
ReplyDeleteTo business exposing?
Hulu's commercials don't bother me either. If WWE Network added them and it meant more original content, I'd be down.
ReplyDeletemy breaking point would probably be 14.99
ReplyDeleteLegit lol. Awesome
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see a discount for people who pay by the year.
ReplyDeleteYes, but I would actully
ReplyDeletebusiness has been exposed enough.
ReplyDeleteit wouldnt hurt
Considering I fucking loved Confidential which definitely was a lightweight expose show, I'd eat something like this up.
ReplyDeleteBacklash '00 for Big Show's Hulk Hogan impression. It's legit LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat's mine also. It's so easy to rationalize with getting wm and other ppvs
ReplyDelete^^ Thats about how I feel.
ReplyDeleteIm totally into getting backstage/behind the scenes stuff, but believe in keeping more or less full Kayfabe when it comes to the on-air product
Security blanket and a laboratory for new programming, hopefully.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeletePut that shit on Live stream only at 3-4am, that way the truly hardcore can watch it.
No way! Flair was an excellent instigator who exploited that rule. He'd divert the referee's attention and toss his opponent over the top rope to the dismay of the audience.
ReplyDelete....This guy gets it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think it would fly.
ReplyDeleteSidenote, Piper said his dog is named Kayfabe on Austin's podcast and that was so funny to me for some reason.
Or cure insomnia with it.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Philadelphia markets aired the spectrum shows, they cut out some of the card and it made for a lot better show to watch. They should air those.
ReplyDeleteNo one needs to see a 20 minute time-limit draw between Scott McGhee and Barry O.
Is the 3d the most over tag team finisher of all time?
ReplyDeleteDecapitation Elbow Drop and Doomsday Device are both great, but I feel like the 3d always got a huge pop.
They'll do what everyone eventually does, slow and gradual increases.
ReplyDeleteIt's like the price of gas now. Im joyous to see it at $3.20 at this point, but could you imagine seeing that price if you are used to seeing it in the $2 range.
Thats how the Network will be. Once they start adding even more and promising "exclusives" like Legends House and whatever else they have, like a new Tough Enough or something, they will put it at $15 for sure
The Midnight Express Rocket Launcher and Rock'n'Roll Express double dropkick were supremely over as well.
ReplyDeleteUnless it was Barry O doing that weird gimmick back in stampede.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1mCmwgzudc
Viscera vs. Mark Henry. I don't recall this match at all. I don't have high hopes for this one...
ReplyDeleteOne wrestler iv never met that really wanted to
ReplyDeletei like that
ReplyDelete"Mark Henry is the World's Strongest Man, I guess he's got the world's strongest sperm as well." Well said, JR. Well said...
ReplyDeleteStill on havoc 96, and this Harlem Heat promo brought two questions...
ReplyDelete1) What show did Booker T call Hogan the "n-word" and
2) Was that promo edited out of that show on the Network rerun?
Oh yeah the Faces of Fear v. McMichael/Benoit. One of the few teams (the faces) that was actually able to get over based on their work.
Im going to have to lean towards the doomsday device.
ReplyDelete3D is great, but The Road Warriors finish was epic.
He did it on a saturday night I believe.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't buy it wasn't a work to begin with. They try to play off all the "backstage" stuff we saw on Total Divas as a shoot and it was painfully obvious it wasn't.
ReplyDeleteAny time my friends and I went swimming as kids, someone was getting the Doomsday Device.
ReplyDeleteHell of a match man
ReplyDeleteCo sign. They've exposed so much and the DVD Documentaries are so good. Do it once a week outlining RAW or something and it would be gold. Run them like 3 months or so after the RAW episodes air.
ReplyDeleteDoomsday Device for me as well. 3D was fucking OVER though.
ReplyDeleteRandom sidenote watching a recent PWG show: Just saw a Doomsday Device/suicide dive combo. Think about that...fucking brutal as shit
Alright guys, who was the most underrated WCW Luchadore?
ReplyDeleteNo way. It had to ahve been on a live ppv. There's no way WCW would have left soemthing like that on a taped broadcast.
ReplyDeleteBlitzkrieg!
ReplyDeleteLa Parka? He was way over and they did nothing with him.
ReplyDeleteThat's true. If they had a segment showing Vince serving soup to the homeless I'd say something is fishy.
ReplyDeleteDoomsday Device.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I personally loved the Hart Attack.
Same here. $15 and I'm out. I'll watch today's PPVs, but I'm not totally into the product, so that isn't as much of a selling point for me as it is for others. I like the random stream and the old shows. I wish they'd add more TV, but it'll come.
ReplyDeleteGoddamn the Faces of Fear deserved a tag title run.
ReplyDeleteI always thought that Hector Garza was underrated.
ReplyDeleteHell yes. WCW's tag division was pretty deep in 96/97, but the Faces of Fear for sure deserved a run. Just a shame that between the Outsiders, Steiners and Harlem Heat they never got a real chance to shine.
ReplyDeleteI think La Parka. Was over and could GO
ReplyDeleteFrom now on when I'm on these threads I'm going to change my name to whatever archive show on the network I'm watching so you have the context to what I'm saying. Maybe you won't care, but maybe you will....
ReplyDeleteKevin Steen
ReplyDelete
