Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O' Doomers,

Holy shit it's getting hot in Florida. For most of the "winter" it's been nice with the occasional cold front busting in for a couple of days to break up the monotony but late last week the hot season official began. So there's hope for you guys stuck in the never ending stretch of cold and snow.

Anyway, this talk of finishers got me thinking what else is out there that could be recycled and used again. So many good finishers, like the DDT, have become transitional moves and it makes reprogramming the crowd to look at them as finishing moves again quite difficult. Anyway my small list.

Jackhammer -- Someone mentioned this one and it's an easy one for any of the power guys to do. It would probably need a good secondary move to set it up but if Reigns tires of using the spear, and given the potential of a neck issue that could happen, I could see him using this move effectively because it looks good and is pretty simple.

Running Powerslam -- I've seen Davey Boy's old finisher used a couple of times to finish matches but more as a transition move. Again it's a nice move for a power wrestler. It would look better for Big E to use this than the Big Ending in my opinion.

Hot Shot/Stun Gun -- I like this as a finisher for a mid-sized heel. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfDUMrMw_Gs) and imagine would some of the promotion's better workers could do to sell that move.

Gordbuster -- This is a little dangerous because a mistake can go really bad. But Arn Anderson is an agent and could teach the right guy how to do it safely since it was his move at one point in his career. And I like the way Arn does it, he goes to his knees so the head is protected but the impact still looks good. (http://youtu.be/0sMhAT8ip00?t=1m59s)

Anyway I had one more but I can't think of it so that's all I got. Thread starts a little early tonight but that's ok. Enjoy the show and keep it clean.

Yeah Princess, tis getting hot and humid here now. Although I'll take hot over cold any day. I liked how it was a month ago, a little chilly but nothing cold.

  3. I apologize if this has been posted already. I especially apologize if it's been posted several times.

  5. Steiner Screwdriver.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Good greif...watching one of the new 94 raws up..Bret and Prichard are having an o match but they have Donnie Walberg on the phone relaying how he and Markie Mark are brothers and putting over the Bret Owen feud in comparison.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Bold prediction for tonight:

Since The Shield overcame 11-on-3 on Smackdown by working as a team, tonight, HHH books them in three separate 3-on-1 handicap matches.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yeah Reigns can use the Jackhammer instead of the spear.. maybe he can gesture a throat slit and scream "You're Next" too.

    ReplyDelete
  9. God I hated the British Bulldogs finisher. As a kid I thought that was lamest move possible.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Random: Just watched Ziggler cashing in. Man, can't believe how much they ended up fucking that up.

*sigh* The BOD now has a "poop" thread. Really?

    ReplyDelete
  12. MILD TJ: .. I'm gonna use this opportunity to again post one of the ugliest finishing moves of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aPlfPbEh9w

I cringe every time I see it..

    ReplyDelete
  13. Getting hot in Florida??? Shit, it's only been 70 twice in Pennsylvania this year and the past winter was one of the more brutal ones we've had the past 10-15 years.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 4:35 PM

Then move down to Florida. It's warm and a bit humid.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The Power Slam? It was good when he used it to set up the flying headbutt in tag teams, but they really should have come up with SOMETHING after the team broke up. It's be like Bret Hart winning with just a clothesline after he went solo.

    ReplyDelete
  16. RIP Marty Garner...

  17. Most underrated tag finish: Doomsday DDT. So fucking brutal.

  18. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 4:37 PM

So, I hate to say it but...is Punk just Nash with a better moveset?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 4:37 PM

I wish the DDT would make a comeback as a finisher and something devastating.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I was thinking more of the Carolinas, but Florida is also on my list.

Thing is I have a decent job and I can't exactly get up and leave it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. OH!!! That might be my new "holy shit" video.. right on his head!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah I guess running a bit before he slammed the guy was supposed to build up more momentum but I could just never go for it. As a secondary type signature move, totally cool. But for a finisher it felt lame.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Someone started drinking early I see.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I guess the jobber thought it was a double-arm suplex from what i've read about it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. California >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Flordia

    ReplyDelete
  26. I can see it. Both made wrestling cool again.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I dunno...the state is bankrupt and taxes the dogshit out of you. Plus, the big one is coming.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm watching that now. So random and weird.

    ReplyDelete
  29. California isn't for everybody, but for the lucky few of us in the chosen land life couldn't be any better.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Potential of earthquake >>>>>>>>>>>>> actuality of hurricanes

    ReplyDelete
  31. I said this in another thread not long ago but this phone calls were happening from the first Raw on and they always sound like crap and rarely go well and yet over a year later Vince is still doing them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's a pretty shitty situation

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would have thought someone who have already started using the Jackhammer again by now. It's such an awesome looking move. I wonder if one reason it hasn't been used, is the company is legitimately worried about a wrestler not being able to hold a guy up, and dropping him.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 4:44 PM

What I'm trying to say about the Punk/Nash comparison is they both seem to have an uneven temperament, play some political games, have contempt for their fans, think they are cooler than everybody else.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 4:45 PM

    *puts on sunglasses* YEAAAAAOWWWWW

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah Bulldog probably should have done the Running Powerslam and then maybe something off the top rope like a falling leg drop. Call it the London Bridge Fall or something cheesy like that..

    (Maybe I'm smoking dope too)

    ReplyDelete
  37. It's better than where I'm at that's for sure...but that says little.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The other night at work, I asked someone if they had ever seen the Steiner Screwdriver. He said he didn't think so. When I showed it to him, he just said "Oh, shit."

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'd think you would find all wrestlers have contempt for their fans. Its from the carny history of wrestling. A carny is supposed to look at a mark like he's shit. That attitude is definitely ingrained in the history of wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Is everybody ready for RAW IS Lee Marshall?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'd love to see someone return the Slingshot Suplex to finisher status... add a twist on it if needed.

Also on the short list: Big guy with a powerbomb, and the Figure Four, done RIGHT.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'd like to see the Brain Buster make a comeback.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Billy Gunn used it as a transition move.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 4:47 PM

The thing is from the things we've heard and stuff from his Twitter. But he wasn't always like that, he was very awesome to me as was Colt but it seems since he hit it big in the WWE his attitude has changed when it comes to fans.

    ReplyDelete
  45. That would describe a bunch of other guys as well,. Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton included.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Something else entirely unrelated...I'm shocked the let Mongo McMichael use the tombstone and I'm equally as shocked he never crippled anyone using it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I know the DDT has been mentioned a lot on here. I would love to see someone do the jumping DDT Barry Windham used when he turned heel in early-90's WCW.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That dude should be dead! Fuck that was brutal.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think they are worried about people yelling GOLDBERG.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Punk doesn't have contempt for his fans. Neither does Nash.

    ReplyDelete
  51. He probably hated meeting you in person and was relieved when you left. Maybe he was getting paid to meet and greet or maybe you caught him at a good moment but I'm sure they just see us as marks walking down the midway.

    ReplyDelete
  52. True. I forgot about him. But, if you can't trust Billy Gunn, who can you trust?

    ReplyDelete
  53. The big power bomb is always a devastating finisher.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I can't recall where i heard this but is it true Mark Jindrak was supposed to be in Evolution? Supposedly he was replaced by Batista at the last minute.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I can't believe how much time this match is getting.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Pennsyltucky is what the guys I knew from that area called it.

    ReplyDelete
  57. There is a fantastic Nitro tag match with Hall / Syxx vs. The Steiners. Scott just kills 6pac dead with this move.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Superfly Splash would be a good finish for someone bring back.

    ReplyDelete
  59. This Macho Yoko match from the last new RAW up on the network was pretty good...for a Yoko match.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Apt description...it's definitely like that in parts, but if you want the real middle of nowhere basically all of the north-central, central and south-central of the state.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 4:54 PM

Nope I don't think that was the case.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yeah, I liked it quite a bit. It was interesting, because on this Raw and the previous week's show, Vince made sure to specifically call Macho Man a future- Hall of Famer. Not that that means anything for today's Hall, I just find it interesting that McMahon seemed to be already positioning Savage as a semi-retired legend.

    ReplyDelete
  63. It's a shame Superfly never had a kid that could steal that finish.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Edge used to use an implant DDT as his finish.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Really, I think anything can be sold as a finisher if it's just built up properly through the psychology of a match or just a series of matches. I mean, Big E's finisher (and really, the F5, too) don't look like they would be very painful, but they're still effective.

I'd still like to see a really well executed slingshot suplex come back, but I guess I'm just old school like that.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Barry's is different.

    ReplyDelete
  67. More proof that all this piledriver banning stuff is straight up horseshit.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Oh damn, I just scrolled down and didn't see this. Awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Minor threadjack. A preview to Wally West returning to DC comics as a bi-racial black kid.

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/04/25/exclusive-the-flash-annual-3-preview

Wow! Just WOW. I thought HHH the racist going over the black challenger at Wrestlemania XIX was offensive. This makes that look tame by comparison. Where's Jesse Baker when you need him?

    ReplyDelete
  70. I think there's a variant there for the slingshot sipped where instead of falling back, you twist the opponent so his neck/shoulders lands on the knee/thigh of the man delivering the move, turning it into a neckbreaker.

    ReplyDelete
  71. No more Nitro party reports. Rip

    ReplyDelete
  72. She could do the "Superfly Sploosh".

    ReplyDelete
  73. That'd be super clever. So don't expect it.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Random Network thoughts:

Lawrence Taylor vs Bam Bam Bigelow: MUCH better than I remembered. Lawrence Taylor didn't know how to sell, so it was refreshing to see him try and punch and kick at the same time that Bigelow was trying to go on offense. They had a crazy good chemistry together as well. ****

Great American Bash 1991: Really overrated as far as protest shows go. Some weak "We Want Flair!" chants during the WCW title match, but the crowd was for the most part into the match and popped pretty good for the finish. Not a great show, but nowhere near being a contender for worst show of all time.

Starrcade 1993: Flair vs Vader was a disappointment. Their Clash of the Champions match was a lot better. But Jesse Ventura and Tony S. remain one of my favorite broadcast teams of all time.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yeah, I was wondering what the fuck that was about too.

    ReplyDelete
  76. So if a guy is really a racist in his private life but was given a life time achievement award by the ncaacp (twice!) what does that make him? I'm conflicted about this Donald Sterling thing but as an NBA fan I really really really hope he's forced to sell somehow...and he sells it to the Seattle ownership group. Bring back the sonics with Paul and griffin!

    ReplyDelete
  77. As long as you have a firm grip on your opponent, it's safer than a bodyslam.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm actually currently watching the gab91 and I'm not that impressed by the crowd either. However that flag pole scaffold match was fucking stupid and a waste of two great wrestlers in Eaton and Austin.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'm still shocked they let Mongo be a wrestler at all. Could *any* member of the '85 Bears been a wrestler if they had wanted to? And if so, why couldn't it have been Jim MacMahon?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Clearly Sterling is not the only old white guy making racist remarks privately. Where he was stupid was running around with a woman that could be his grand daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  81. There is no such thing as objective reality in the human constructed society we live in. A person is as he does unto you. No more, no less.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Rick Steiner's version was especially mean.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think it's hilarious that he doesn't mind if she bangs Magic Johnson (who is HIV positive), and then presumably bangs him. Just don't take him to a basketball game. The whole thing is just weird.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm the one of the biggest Flair marks here and I was never in love with the Starrcade 93' match.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Like can you hate a guy for his private feelings when he's actually done real life good shit for that same cause he hates? I just don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I heard Magic is interested in buying if Sterling is forced to sell.

    ReplyDelete
  87. He's a racist slumlord.

    ReplyDelete
  88. It's a complex issue, obviously this is the type of thing the media loves to jump all over.

    ReplyDelete
  89. So Donald Sterling has donated tons of money to black charities (enough to get trophies from the ncaacp) so does that negate his racist remarks?

And before someone brings up the housing discrimination suits, they were settled out of court with no ruling of discrimination.

    ReplyDelete
  90. If sterling is forced to sell they can't dictate to whom he sells. I say he sells that team to Seattle for a billion dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Flair doesn't fare well in those matches where his opponent legitimately beats the shit out of him.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Yeah, I could see Sterling just giving the finger to someone if he's forced to sell since that goes with his character. I can definitely see him selling to the group that wanted to buy the Kings. I'd be fine with that because there's no reason for LA to have two teams.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Why would the housing discrimination suits be disqualified from the conversation? For the litigious man that Sterling is, the settling out of court would seem to indicate that there was plenty of fire to that smoke.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Ditka could have been an IC champion!

    ReplyDelete
  95. I remember you on here talking shit about Kane's wife. This is exactly why people like Kane would rather stay with the wife that has been loyal to them all these years instead of chasing some gold digging stripper slut. Sterling got burned real bad.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Yeah, Edge lifted his opponent IIRC, while Barry jumped to add to his version.

    ReplyDelete
  97. He hasn't done shit for anyone but himself. Fuck him.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Donating tons of money to black charities negates his racist remarks to the same extent that an apple negates an orange.

It doesn't. Because they are two separate things that you shouldn't try to compare.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hes certainly a slum lord, but that discrimination suit was settled with NO finding of discrimination and he's almost definitely a racist but he's a decorated philanthropist toward racial charities. I find this to be one of the most complex issues to come up in sports in awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  100. He sucks as a babyface. Best heel ever, but he barely tops the top 100 of best babyfaces ever.

    ReplyDelete
  101. "decorated philanthropist toward racial charities."

    No he isn't.

    ReplyDelete
  102. ... jesus it's not that complicated. Bad people can be charitable too. Doesn't make them good people, it's just PR.

    ReplyDelete
  103. And why Shawn Michaels is a better wrestler than Flair. Top ten on the list of best babyfaces AND best heels.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Did anyone hear about the kid that killed a girl because she rejected him for prom?

    ReplyDelete
  105. This times a thousand. It's all politics and PR.

    ReplyDelete
  106. The thing I don't get about this whole sterling thing is it's been long-known that the guy is a racist shitheel. In the court case against him by the feds, he said he didn't like renting to black tenants because they smelled and when Elgin Baylor sued him, it came out Sterling said he didn't want to give a poor black kid like Danny Manning a lot of money.

However, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and Doc Rivers all willingly signed up to take his money. If I could find that out with a simple google search, how in the hell didn't they know?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 5:14 PM

Seriously? What the fuck happened to taking the rejection like a man and sitting in the corner of your room masterbating to old country music on prom night?

    ReplyDelete
  108. I don't know what it makes him, but I think eventually, he's going to be forced to sell, and somehow, someway, Magic Johnson is getting involved in ownership.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Someone needs to bring back the crossface chicken wing.

    ReplyDelete
  110. There is zero reason and they will never take Lakers fans away from the Lakers. They will always be the 2nd rate team. And there is no reason the sonics shouldn't come back to Seattle. I'd say thats the perfect move here. Sterling gets absolute top dollar, the league gets rid of him, LA honestly suffers no real loss and the city of Seattle not only gets it team back but it gets an instant title contender.

Think the ratings in a playoff series between the new sonics and okc might be good?

    ReplyDelete
  111. This prom stuff is getting out of control. These proposals that I've seen floating around remind me of marriage proposals. Now you have young kids asking celebrities to prom on Twitter and it's just getting ridiculous. This story saddened me, but it's sort of indicative of today's culture where people cannot accept being rejected for whatever reason. It's okay to fail sometimes kids!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Or in my case, take my best female friend who threatened to beat the shit out of the girl that originally was supposed to go with me but then decided to go with someone else a WEEK before the prom.

    ReplyDelete
  113. This is just one person's opinion, but he strikes me as one of those old timey racist guys who would be quick to categorize folks as "good blacks" and "bad blacks." The type of people from his generation who are just set in their closeted bigoted ways.

There's way too many people close to him speaking out AGAINST him for me to believe otherwise. Sure he may help some minorities, but he looks down on them while he's doing it. And his amount of help isn't really comparable to the help others have provided in his income bracket.

    ReplyDelete
  114. EVERYONE GETS A TROPHY! YOU'RE ALL WINNERS!

    ReplyDelete
  115. 2x ncaacp lifetime achievement award winner. That's for all the money he gave out. Like him or not he got lots of cash off to lots of programs. Of course its fake shit, but money is money. Don't actions speak louder than words.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Flair Pre-Horsemen was damn good as a face... but afterwards only had any true face potential during the NWO days.

    ReplyDelete
  117. That's a response based on emotions and not logic.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm still butt hurt we didn't get a heel HBK run outside of the Hogan match during his comeback.

    ReplyDelete
  119. That's exactly the damn problem. Everyone gets Gay Focker participation ribbons and no one fails.

Now how in the blue hell does that prepare anyone for the real world?

    ReplyDelete
  120. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontApril 28, 2014 at 5:18 PM

Damn, that's cold. What a bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Sadly, yes. This is the VERY extreme logical extension of that syndrome.

    ReplyDelete
  122. So that charity shouldn't count against something he said in private?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Anybody see the GoT episode last night?

    ReplyDelete
  124. The Funk feud was good, but Terry Funk is just one of the best ever.

    ReplyDelete
  125. When you fail, you're literally helping others succeed! Way to go team!

    ReplyDelete
  126. It always bugged me that Roma got so much grief as a horseman but mongo doesn't get Neely as much hate.

    ReplyDelete
  127. It's probably the most boring show I've ever seen, but I wouldn't call it the worst, if that makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  128. fuck prom I was too busy with our backyard wrestling promotion. true story

    ReplyDelete
  129. I was saddened the Sonics left Seattle. Hated them for beating the 1996 Jazz in 7 games in the WCF, but that team should never have been sent to OKC. One of the many reasons I dislike David Stern. As you say, it's perfectly logical to ship the Clippers up north. They've never been that successful of a franchise and Sterling should've been forced to sell back in the 1990s when he put a D-League team on a court.

    ReplyDelete
  130. They're not ruled out of any conversation. But he was never found guilty and the disgruntled parties signed off the settlement.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I don't think you can force a guy to sell his team based on his opinion, no matter how wrong it is.

    ReplyDelete
  132. You shouldn't talk about logic when your's is 12 years old santa claus is real logic.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Problem: The other owners could block such a sale. See what happened with Sacramento for an example...

    ReplyDelete
  134. Marge Schott was good in the beginning, then she went too far and MLB forced her to sell the Reds.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Wonder what Ric Flair will do at RAW tonight? Go through a table? Blade?

    ReplyDelete
  136. Legitimate question: Did that spawn in part from the Owen-Austin Summerslam match, or was more all the guys who needed neck surgery in general (Austin, Angle, Benoit, Edge)?

    ReplyDelete
  137. It's called "Paying for PR."

    ReplyDelete
  138. actually he was dropping some facts

    ReplyDelete
  139. Eh, her reaction to my friend was priceless. The bitch was TERRIFIED of my friend.

She eventually apologized a week after prom, probably because my friend may have threatened to kill her in the bathroom, but years later I discover this girl is certifiably nuts anyways, so I avoided a huge bullet.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I just can't get into Raw. No emphasis on or presence of Daniel Bryan after his epic journey to the title. Nothing the guy could do about his dad dying but the company should. have helped pay for him to push back the wedding when it was clear he wasn't going to be just another guy wrestling Sheamus at Mania.

His first title defense needs to be someone better than the God awful Kane and the build to Extreme Rules made Shield vs Evolution and Wyatt vs Cena the real main events.

I thought it would take them longer to screw this up.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Would love to see him get the triple powerbomb but no way they will clear him.

    ReplyDelete
  142. It would be a great submission backup finish for Bray Wyatt.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I'd call it another example of how the modern legal system can be gamed... drag it out until the other side cries poverty, then settle as cheaply as possible

    ReplyDelete
  144. That would really be a great thing for the hot new face team to do.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I don't know if Seattle should get the Clippers, but I freaking can't stand David Stern. What a horrible bully.

    ReplyDelete
  146. While being completely ignorant of why people like Sterling do stuff like that.

    ReplyDelete
  147. IMO he sounds like a scumbag (although I actually side with Sterling in the baron Davis feud) creep. I just think its interesting how much worth is placed on someone's throw away comments as opposed to where someone put their money. Like I said, I hope he's forced to sell the team and they move to Seattle.

    ReplyDelete
  148. What's so offensive about it, the fact that he's spraying graffiti?

    ReplyDelete
  149. There are no heels and faves. It'd just be three guys beating up an old guy. Shades of grey.

    ReplyDelete
  150. A live thread for a show that Flair will be on and White Thunder is here. This is like a gift from the gods. Woooooooooooo!

    ReplyDelete
  151. Is anyone else's disqus not refreshing?

    ReplyDelete
  152. All of the above, I'd say.

    ReplyDelete
  153. This must be what Flair feels like when he convinces some sap to pay for his bar tab.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Really enjoying the conversation, too bad these Monday night threads turn into a complete clusterfuck after 8

    ReplyDelete
  155. Shes a bully I guess. Some of the white knights from around here should have emailed her and told her to B A star!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Nice. Shots fired.

    ReplyDelete
  157. DING!

Something like Legends of Wrestling or any XPW card is they're so bad they become funny.

This card is just bad, and has nearly no humor to save it.

    ReplyDelete
  158. That's not fair to Flair.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Kinda like a Flair match after 95.

  160. Okay, I was just curious. In the case of Owen-Austin, wasn't there some mis-communication, there? Like, I was thinking Owen was going for one type of piledriver, while Austin was under the impression they were doing something else. You would think that would be something they would get straight.

  161. I love Flair and I think he's the GOAT...but if you want to better at managing money than him, withdraw all your savings, cash out your 401ks IRAs and then take all the cash, place into a garbage can and set it ablaze.

And you'll still be better with your finances than Flair.

  162. I sure hope we get a continuation of the El Torito and Hornswoggle feud.

  163. And we live in a society that has little restraint it seems. Going to the extreme has sadly almost become the standard.

  164. This better not be sarcasm. Holy shit I mark out for that feud.

  165. Didn't Mickie James do the jumping DDT?

    ReplyDelete
  166. Also...did Donald Sterling record this conversation and broadcast it to the world?

I don't understand why it's okay to crucify a guy for his private thoughts in a private conversation that broke no laws.

If a guy hates me and keeps those thoughts to himself, then guess what? That's no skin off my back, and I'll get along with him in public just fine.

  167. "Marge Schott was good in the beginning, then she went too far"

That's exactly what Marge Schott said about Hitler!

  168. I don't think Owen ever commented on it, and I don't remember if Austin has.

But, IIRC, Austin wanted NOTHING to do with Owen afterwards.

  169. The fact that they not ONLY changed Wally's ethnicity (he was a red haired caucasian since he first debuted), but they changed him to being a stereotypical black thug. Even on Wally West's worst day in ANY medium he never commited vandalism. THAT is not Wally West at all.

If your going to change his ethnicity because your promoting progress DON'T have him commiting to negative black stereotypes. It's not only offensive to Wally West fans that followed him for years, but people of color in general.

  170. It wouldn't have been that great, since HBK had no interest in doing it.

  171. There is a terrible call on CBJ. And that's coming from a Pens fan.

I hope Eric Young jumped ship and we can get the long awaited champion vs champion match.

  173. I agree with that for sure. Now if he was found guilty of some type of actual discrimination (in basketball or his other businesses) than its a different story. But yeah, its his team, you can't force him out for a private point of view and no matter what the other owners say publicly they don't want t him gone for that either.

I feel the same way. It just goes by too fast and I can't keep up.

  175. I agree. It was a completely private convo he was having with his "gf" Its like he Posted all this on the clippers twitter account.

  176. I bet they try to phase him out and make another family member take over.

  177. Um... He got married and his dad died.

Bryan is fine. People need to relax.

Agreed, not a fan of the Bryan bitching.

  181. That doesn't even make sense.

  182. I'm saying should a private conversation he had, which he never intended for anyone to hear, really outweigh cash out of the pocket to charities, which he did so much of the ncaacp gave him two lifetime achievement awards?

But keep the snarky one liners coming, its so much better than discussing a issue like real people.

  186. The leverage that Sterling would have it two fold though:
1)the owners would be stuck with the PR nightmare of Sterling still owning the team
2)the more money sterling gets for his team the more their teams will be worth

  189. Anyone want to bet we get at least three people comment how great Stephanie and HHH are as heels despite the fact that: 1. They really haven't gotten any better than they were a decade ago. 2. They're some of the few that get to write or do whatever they want in their own voice. 3. Their acting level is worthy of Syfy original movies.

Don't get me wrong--they're good. But I think some of us were so wrapped up in our HHHate that we overreact and swing way to the other side in evaluating their performances.
