AJ Lee Not Returning to the WWE Until After Wedding to CM Punk?

According to Dave Scherer of PWInsider.com, AJ Lee is not expected to return to the WWE  until after her wedding to CM Punk.

EDIT: I misread the news item. AJ will not be returning to the WWE before her wedding next month. She is expected to be back afterwards. I apologize for misquoting the source and spreading false information.

  1. Slow news week.

WWE overseas and it is Memorial Day Weekend.

  2. Is the AJ retirement bit new? On the website yesterday I thought it read she wasn't expected to return until after her wedding.

I read the same thing. Maybe Punk is a scientologist and he's forbid AJ from consorting with her old friends and her old life so she can better devote her time to Xenu and dinner parties with Tom Cruise?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Welcome to the BoD!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Eh, I found the news informative.

    ReplyDelete
  6. 4. Why? Sure the matches would suck and no one would care about the feud, but at least you would have a storyline for midcarders!

    ReplyDelete
  7. "As of now", many things are potentially possible. Vintage F4W vagueness.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Meltzer said it was presumed she would return after the wedding and Scherer said he hears that she is not expected to return.

I think it is a case of two guys with different sources who just arent getting a clear picture of what is happening with AJ.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Well, seeing as who Rusev has been beating recently, maybe they didn't want to send the wrong message.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Taking my twenty-year-old sister to her first pro wrestling show after somehow evading the fandom, despite living under the same roof as me for a number of years. We'll be in the third row, Monday night.

Buried my grandfather last Tuesday. Spent a whole week in Maryland, with the surviving children. They waxed poetic about my dad, passed 11 years ago, and how he took them to see Frampton and Springsteen and the like. Got sentimental, drove back to Knoxville, dropped a bunch on two ringside tickets, and decided that if my dad could give his sisters Springsteen and Frampton, I'll one-up him and give my sister..

Uh, Dolph Ziggler and Bray Wyatt.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I agree with Alvarez on the fact that it was a complete waste of Duggan in that segment.

They must really be down on Big E

    ReplyDelete
  12. Now that would be funny.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hope you enjoy everything Monday night and sorry for your loses.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Thank you my good man

    ReplyDelete
  15. Have fun and sorry for the lose.

    ReplyDelete
  16. not really.

He said the Summer/Layla match is happening, maybe at Payback and that Orton vs. Ambrose is the plan for RAW, which seems to be changed constantly.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hmmm, the 2 wrestlers that the fans love leave them. That should generate some heel heat if they ever come back.

    ReplyDelete
  18. You also from Ohio?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Big E Vs Rusev in a winner gets their full name restored.

Talk about a license to print $$$.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well...

    Fuck you, Punk.

    ReplyDelete
  21. YankeesHoganTripleHFanMay 24, 2014 at 12:52 PM

Orton vs Dean...battle of the psychos? I'm there. Pray they let it go longer then some of the recent Shield/Evolution matches.

    ReplyDelete
  22. "As of now, the teased feud between Big E and Rusev is off the table."

As of now the teased feud between me and being interested in this match is also off the table.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Not totally sure what that means, but it made me laugh when my brain said it, so I thought it was comment worthy.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just throw Cesaro in there as well, make it a triple threat.

    ReplyDelete
  25. What made me laugh is when Bayless wrote that Orton vs Ambrose was on tap for Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  26. You guys don't get it. Vince wants the WWE to be like a real sport now. Do you ever hear anyone in real sports being referred to by their full name?

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's too bad we don't have one of the old school announcers who could say during the Layla vs. Summer Rae match, "THIS COULD ME A MAIN EVENT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!"

    ReplyDelete
  28. One of those crazy kids needs to pick up a full time job soon or they're going to want to kill each other after 6 months.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "With the first pick in the NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers select: Parker from Duke University."

    ReplyDelete
  30. Vince would make LeBron James go by "James" because his first name sounds too soft.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Dave Scherer -- was he that ECW mutant that wrote one of the newsletters that was eventually absorbed into 1wrestling.com in 1998? If

    ReplyDelete
  32. They can be Jeff Jarretts top stars!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I believe so.

He runs the site and brought along Mike Johnson as the reporter. Johnson is very good, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  34. After fucking literally the entire Divas locker room, I wonder why he finally settled on AJ?

    ReplyDelete
  35. It drives me crazy that Sheamus is just Sheamus. Give him a last name for Christ's sake.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Downvote incoming in 3...2...1May 24, 2014 at 1:14 PM

I wouldn't call AJ settling. She's as hot as anyone else in the divas division. Although I think the real money is in Renee Young. That's the peak of the mountain right there.

    ReplyDelete
  37. You walk into the bar, bartenderess asks what you'll have, you ask what on tap, she replies, "We've got Spotted Cow, Miller Light, Riverwest Stein, Orton vs. Ambrose, and Coors."
"Hmmm, do you have Coors Light?"
    "In bottles."
"Oh OK, no, then I guess I'll have Orton vs. Ambrose."

    ReplyDelete
  38. I was not a fan of anyone from that 1wresting crew. Scherer's print news letter felt 3rd rate compared to the Observer and the Torch.

    ReplyDelete
  39. If I were marrying AJ I'd fuck her like it was my job.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Downvote incoming in 3...2...1May 24, 2014 at 1:15 PM

They should call him Sheamus Sheamus. From Sheamusville Sheamusland.

    ReplyDelete
  41. OK
Good for Punk, more time with his wife
    Don't care
    Don't care

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yeah, who's he think he is with his one word name? More like Chermus.

    ReplyDelete
  43. No I'm not saying he's "settling." I'm saying after everyone from Maria to Lita to Beth, why is AJ the one he's marrying?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Downvote incoming in 3...2...1May 24, 2014 at 1:17 PM

    Would you marry Beth?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Wasn't he original name Sheamus O'Sheamus?

    ReplyDelete
  46. O'sheanessy.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Not after Punk AND Edge had their way with her. Those two will fuck anybody.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Downvote incoming in 3...2...1May 24, 2014 at 1:19 PM

    Lita agrees.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bob Ryder seems like a scumbag

    ReplyDelete
  50. I think I still get pop ups from his site...

    ReplyDelete
  51. If I'm Meltzer, I don't know if I'm happy how dysfunctional WWE is or incredibly frustrated. Dude comes off as a lunatic or liar trying to "report" on the whims of Vinny Mac and the whispers and rumors and half truths that leak out. "AJ's due back soon, AJ's due back after the tour, AJ's never coming back, AJ came back 3 weeks ago as part of the Rose party but no one noticed her so she went back home".

On the other hand, if there's a dry news week, make some shit up and "ohhhhh it changed".

    ReplyDelete
  52. 1wrestling was damn unreadable with all the pop up adds.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Scherer is reporting this AJ item, not Meltzer

    ReplyDelete
  54. For some reason I can't see Punk getting along with Jarrett, but Jeff would be stupid not to at least try.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Doubt they could afford Punk

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yeah fuck that guy. I think his travel agency made a ton flying WCW guys around so he could get off Bischoff's
dick and he would defend shitty things like WCW's booking of Flair/Bischoff.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Me too, and the last time I visited it was four computers ago!

    ReplyDelete
  58. The reason being Punk can't get along with ANYBODY?

    ReplyDelete
  59. This would be awesome if nba teams did this.

"From now on you'll be Jordan Michaels so now we get a cut of all your merchandising!"

    ReplyDelete
  60. No wonder he covers MMA more. At least UFC gives him a mostly straightforward answer.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ah, gotcha. ...Meltzer can't be pleased with readers that skim things and don't properly credit the write reporters either :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. AJ and Punk must be signing with ROH or GFW.

    ReplyDelete
  63. because she might be amazing and he is in love?

    ReplyDelete
  64. you can do anything if you're the best in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Doubt Punk would charge them that much. He can't possibly expect any non WWE company to pay him WWE money.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Kinda crazy about AJ.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Please, unless they are in need for money, they're not coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  68. He needs that full name one day on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Based on his radio shows, he seems to get asked about Punk and AJ all the time. I can only imagine the amount of emails he gets sent a day about those two. That is why I do not have any problem with what he puts out that are rumors. He is basically answering the questions of his subscribers to the best of his ability

    ReplyDelete
  70. RAW: Saturday afternoon? Yeah, that RAW match will change two-three more times by airtime.
AJ: She's pretty done as much as Vince would let her... but if the two of them come back as an answer to Hunter/Steph, that's PPV buys from me, at least.
    Payback: CATFIGHT!
Feud: And there was a great silence. not as if millions had been cut off abruptly, but as if no one had ever cared in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  71. True.

WWE still handles internal affairs like carnies would

    ReplyDelete
  72. Because he's tired of being the real-life version of the BoD's Parallax? Just like Parallax seems to be tired of being the BoD's version of Punk?

    ReplyDelete
  73. I am not sure because of http://bit.ly/1jP7iTj

    ReplyDelete
  74. Before Punk/Edge/Santino (come on...), maybe. After two of them, much less all three, no thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  75. TJ: I just watched some of the leaked Smackdown footage, and wow, that stuff in between breaks was hilarious, Cole has gotten more of my respect and Tony needs to retire.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Punk, I think, is done with wrestling.

His last performance at the Rumble makes me believe that. One of the shittiest Rumble performances in recent memory all due to a complete lack of effort.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Chimel is one of the worst ring announcers ever

    ReplyDelete
  78. Just stick him to NXT, Superstars, or something. I hated when he use to add the emphasis on Superstar for Edge.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Oh, well welcome to the Ohio team. Seems like you're further away than the rest of us.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Punk wont wrestle again in 2014, maybe ever, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Bayless, should I flag John Kenny?

    ReplyDelete
  82. good job.

Looks like the post his gone

    ReplyDelete
  83. I can easily see his future schedule being 1. Return for WM season. 2. Japan and a few ROH shots. 3. Rest. 4. Repeat.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Yeah, I don't blame him, the way Vince and co change gears, something true at noon could have had dozens of changes by night time. Has to be frustrating regardless

    ReplyDelete
  85. In 2015 I can see this happening.

I am willing to bet that he will not return to the ring in 2014

    ReplyDelete
  86. I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up at an ROH PPV after July.

    ReplyDelete
  87. For a segment maybe but definitely not as an active wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I wouldn't go that far. Hell be back.

    ReplyDelete
  89. That is why I dont get the big fuss when one of his rumors doesnt come to fruition.

I dont care if you hate the guy, and I disagree with his opinions from time to time but about the rumor stuff, which is just a tiny part of the Observer, I you are up in arms over that, then you just love to overreact IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I think he is done for good but if he does come back, it will not e this year.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Why is it out of the realm of possibility that it wasn't until this week that AJ informed WWE she wasn't coming back?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Your_Favourite_Buck_NastyMay 24, 2014 at 2:26 PM

    i missed it! wot happened?

    ReplyDelete
  93. Your_Favourite_Buck_NastyMay 24, 2014 at 2:26 PM

    fried?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  96. Your_Favourite_Buck_NastyMay 24, 2014 at 2:29 PM

"As of now, the teased feud between Big E and Rusev is off the table.""

    so is the money

b/c like, it was never there to be left

    ReplyDelete
  97. Your_Favourite_Buck_NastyMay 24, 2014 at 2:30 PM

you go through the store and open all the tins b/c you get a kick out of that key, don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  98. I said it earlier this week, but I feel like going full on McMahon when he was yelling at Austin after he interrupted Tyson.

"Punk, you ruined her. You ruined her, dammit." My favorite female wrestler ever...gone for good. All thanks to a moody, womanizing nihilist. I hope they're happy, but I can't believe she's going to derail her own career after being on the career projection pathway to being the most over and successful females of the Wrestlemania era.

    ReplyDelete
  99. That's definitely in play too. Was just using this particular item to comment on wrestling reporting as a whole. Plus, come on, I didn't even note the right reporter, I'm not exactly working with my best fastball today.

    ReplyDelete
  100. http://wrestlingworkers.blogspot.com/

Anybody remember this? Wonder why he just stopped, I, for one, was interested in seeing the completed list.

    ReplyDelete
  101. She played things really well. Got to get one last Mania win, dropped the belt to someone with potential, didn't get the usual "WWE sendoff". Either they're really hoping Punk eventually comes back or Vince is softening in his old age. AJ got more shit last year (The tattoo and the classless Vickie fainting crap) when Punk was active than she did as possible collateral damage post walk out.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Punk and Styles are getting married?

    How nice

    ReplyDelete
  103. That's what happens when you catch your dreams. The chase is over, and you find new ones. Apparently, hers now involves swallowing Phil.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Punk or not, her run was coming to a close based on past history. They use them up and throw them away it seems

    ReplyDelete
  105. Hey, anyone want to volunteer to keep Vinson from showing up at Raw to keep him from popping a cap in Fandango?

Friends don't let friends go to jail over now diseased skanks!

    Heh.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I feel like Punk loves wrestling too much to be done already.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Anybody else unabashedly love Big E besides me?

    ReplyDelete
  108. yes. he's my favorite since I started watching the current stuff a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryMay 24, 2014 at 2:52 PM

I don't watch too much WWE, but I've always enjoyed his work.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Dude has the look of a jobber to me.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Sounds like AJ and Punk have come around, and that's a fact.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Thanks, he had 16 posts, but never posted any...

    ReplyDelete
  113. A part of me just wants to see him get some sort of punishment if he comes back.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I give this marriage 6 months.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryMay 24, 2014 at 2:56 PM

I'm bored as shit, let's get some sort of controversial conversation going.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Hmmm, got 30 minutes to kill, what do you want?
Politics? Religion? Spammers? Post padders? Meekin not being a completely terrible person? Crazy Stevie? Take your pick, start it out.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Job E. Langston.

    ReplyDelete
  118. It sounds superficial, but I've never seen any main eventer with that kind of a singlet.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Amsterdam_Adam_CurryMay 24, 2014 at 3:06 PM

How about the death penalty? I don't support it, for one I don't feel that the government should be able to literally kill people, and to me the people on death row are getting off easy.

Or how about Donald Sterling? Guy is about to lose his team because of thought crimes, which sets a bad precedent. Though he should have had his team taken away years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I'd prefer Punk to come back as a guest commentator more than a wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  121. No AJ...no AJ gifs......

NO NO NO NO NO NO

    ReplyDelete
  122. I like him.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Does Punk love anything?

Isn't it just degrees of sarcastic disdain with him on everything?

    ReplyDelete
  124. But thinking like that doesn't allow for snarky comments.

    ReplyDelete
  125. They DID give him a last name, Lipschitz!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Because we're crazy ex's?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Psh, it has to be something else, wrestlers aren't real people with real emotions.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Because she's kicking up a fuss about it and he's happy dinking her for now I guess.

If he wants to bang some new rat 3 days after the wedding, I would expect the ring to make precisely zero difference.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I couldn't believe they didn't even have him make a successful save - that just made him look really bad.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Jef has a warehouse full of them, don't worry.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Artists put in shitty work all the time, that doesn't mean they can't create good things afterwards.

Nas went from Nastradamus to Stillmatic. Eminem dropped MMLP2 after Relapse and Encore.

    Passion and dedication cycle.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I just wonder why now would someone do it? Plus they also should know that he's from a past generation, he can't help it.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontMay 24, 2014 at 3:32 PM

After hearing about the possibility of spine degeneration I have to say I hope he doesn't come back. The pain is just way too much and the risks are big.

    ReplyDelete
  134. A year ago, they didn't need AJ more than AJ needed them, now the situation has reversed and they're going to treat her better.

AJ's one of their top merch sellers, isn't she?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Guest? Make him go full time.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Orton/Ambrose: Should be pretty good, but probably not enough for me to sit through 3 hours of garbage.
AJ: If she's gonna give up her career for that jack off, she's dumber than I thought
Payback: Boys, we've found our piss break match
Big E/Rusev: Duh, Rusev is now actually beating up white guys now.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Is 6 days an option?

    ReplyDelete
  138. Female wrestlers have a five year run in WWE. Then it's a slide downhill trading wins with whatever mess they have. AJ did hers in four, but she wanted to go out in style.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Heck, we can even go for 6 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I can go at least 8 if I'm trying to impress!

    ReplyDelete
  141. AJ's been in the system since 2010?!

    Holy shit.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Because we can't let them have a normal social life.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Ron Simmons during his NoD days? Bundy, Big Show, and Andre all wore the classic black singlet and Earthquake had a pretty varied set of colorful singlets during his main event runs with Hogan and Warrior.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Only one who was able to break the system was Layla.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Upvoted for acknowledging Renee as WWE's hottest lady.

    ReplyDelete
  146. "Fucking AJ nine to five, what a way to make a livin'....."

    ReplyDelete
  147. Your_Favourite_Buck_NastyMay 24, 2014 at 3:44 PM

sorry, bud... she's kinda crazy about punk

    ReplyDelete
  148. If he did interfere with the show, that would be hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Your_Favourite_Buck_NastyMay 24, 2014 at 3:46 PM

"let's get some sort of controversial conversation going."

    so, that amsterdam_adam_curry...amirite?!

    ReplyDelete
  150. Just saying his last name is sure to spark a flame.

    ReplyDelete
