Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O'Doomers!

Well another Network special is in the books and...well if that didn't make you miss MitB 2013 I don't know what will. I kind of felt bad for the participants in the main event match last night because they were thrown out there in a match that had no heat. Just the simple action of Ambrose rushing Rollins in the first MitB match gave it that edge that it needed for people to care.

Instead with the second one, the announcers were trying to work in some sort of Reigns-Orton thing but there was nothing to it really. The other guys were just there to be there and even Cena couldn't bring himself to care about another run with a title he probably doesn't want anything to do with right now. Normally seeing Orton bleed like a stuck pig is enough to salvage a match but not last night.

Oh well, we just have to accept that right now the promotion is going through a bit of a cold spell. It was bound to go downhill a little after Wrestlemania and we were lucky to have a pretty hot Shield-Evolution program to carry us through. But you know...Vince had to be Vince...Now hopefully Rollins-Ambrose and the build to Brock-Cena II can carry us through this one.

We got Raw

Yankees-Rays on ESPN

World Cup Wrap ups

Wimbledon wrap ups.

Other random stuff.

Enjoy whatever it is you like, keep the comments flowing and keep them clean. #CENAWINSLOL

Comments

  1. I never used to post in these threads because I always thought you were serious about the "keep it clean" bit. I like to be able to say fuck with impunity.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Fuck is perfectly acceptable. I love cursing.

I mean clean like no links to pictures of bestiality or things that might cause Scott to lose ad revenue.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Sorry, but I'll never take scrawny 178 pound Seth Rollins as a legitimate threat to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, no matter how many colors he dyes his hair.

    ReplyDelete
  4. It won't surprise me in the slightest if he loses his shot.

    ReplyDelete
  5. .......talk like that leads to #Cenawinslol

    ReplyDelete
  6. I have an idea for WWE that they can use for free:

    Adam Rose needs some cred for the fans;
    Zack Ryder has nothing better to do;
    Ryder is still over for some reason;
    It's an inside joke that Ryder plays the man in the rabbit suit in the Exotic Express;
    JBL hates that rabbit.

It's simple: you have JBL finally confront Rose about how stupid he is and his party is. Rose just shrugs and says, whatever, your opinion, I'm too busy having fun, etc. So JBL attacks the revelers. Rose attacks JBL and has him slumped in the corner, and the bunny does the Broski Boot, confirming Ryder as the first named member of Rose's entourage.

From now on, you can team Rose and Ryder as the Exotic Express, and JBL now has a reason to hate them.

    Thoughts?

  7. I said this in another thread but..eh..If Jericho is actually back tonight. Have him heel and feud with Cena. Reasons for this. It is a much fresher matchup than Orton or Kane and it saves the up and comers like Bray, Cesaro and Seth from jobbing to Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  8. You've put more thought into getting both Rose and Ryder over than the WWE has.

    ReplyDelete
  9. No talking about Kurt Angle and Sharmell?

    ReplyDelete
  10. You know...I think I'm at a point where I'd appreciate them just throwing stuff like that against the wall and seeing what sticks.

Like you said, it can't get any worse.

I said team up Big E and Titus for the simple reason that two big MFs teaming together and throwing people around like rag dolls might get over.

    ReplyDelete
  11. That's a bad idea as that would mean Vince would have to give Ryder screen time.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Cena is vanilla ice cream. Not the most thrilling flavor, but perfectly acceptable in any situation.

    ReplyDelete
  13. ...at this point there is some serious freezer burn on that ice cream.

    ReplyDelete
  14. You never caught the irony?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'd rather Jericho just not come back at all.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ummm...*shrugs* I got nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  17. really? with them so depleted right now? He is still a solid worker and an entertaining guy. I'd rather watch him than RVD at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The good thing about Jericho is usually he'll get some new faces more air time and in some decent matches if he's back working.

    ReplyDelete
  19. TJ: haven't watched NXT in awhile, but I looked up Sami Zayn's theme Worlds Apart on YT last night and I have to say, what was everyone's problem with it again? I thought it was a good theme.

    ReplyDelete
  20. You know what? As bad as JBL can be on commentary (odds are he has Vince in his ear), I got a legit laugh when he referenced Monty Python as reasons to hate the rabbit.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Would you have preferred Randy Orton? Batista? Triple H?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hopefully the put the only things I'm interested in(Shield guys, HHH, Rusev) in the first hour so I can watch 24 at 9 and not miss anything on Raw I want to see.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Raw starts in 15 minutes right? cause...there is no one in the arena

    ReplyDelete
  24. Can't wait to see how they oversell Cena tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  25. And Edge won the title HOW MANY times with his miniscule frame?

Just admit it. You dont feel comfortable with a homo-erotic world champion

    ReplyDelete
  26. What will Be the next move by Mr. Money in the Bank? What a night!

How many weeks until they make Goldust make out with Stardust? Will it be the jumping off point of their eventual feud? What a night!

Will the Uso's do a Samoan chant thing and have a perfectly acceptable match that I don't care about at all? What a night!

THE DEMON KANE! THE DEMON KANE! THE DEMON KANE! What a night!

Will Cena have his tiny towel handy? What a night!

    ReplyDelete
  27. They don't want to see a Cena celebration.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's just gonna be the same old shit with him. He comes back for 6 months and goes 0-82.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I really hope that Cena comes out tonight and says THE CHAMP IS HERE!

    ReplyDelete
  30. ..right now HHH sure..but I know I say that because he part time probably. The others, no you are correct, Cena is not a disastrous choice just a boring safe choice they have already made 14 times before as opposed to take a chance on someone.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The only thing I look forward to are the eventual matches vs Rollins, Cesaro, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Didn't 24 go off the air years ago?

    ReplyDelete
  33. They're all in line to buy the new "THE 15 TIME CHAMP IS HERE!" t-shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Enjoy the inevitable Adam Rose/Fandango showdown.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It came back this year.

    I still don't care.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Lol they do a RAW preshow? Im way behind

    ReplyDelete
  37. And that's more than enough reason to welcome him back. Whatever he has to contribute generally leaves the place in a better spot since he doesn't care about laying down for the younger guys to help them build credibility.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I hope Sandow does some sort of humiliating thing with a costume.

    ReplyDelete
  39. In other news, Barbora Zahlavova Strycova is on the roll of her life.

Welcome to the Last 8 Club! Enjoy the strawberries and cream.

    ReplyDelete
  40. no the lol is they do a smackdown pre and post show! The funniest part to me is they keep all that stuff up on the network as if anyone is going to seek out an april smackdown post show

    ReplyDelete
  41. Would the main event of Battleground be easier to absorb if Reigns was throw in?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Idea: Lesnar comes back tonight and beats the piss out of Cena. Rollins runs down to cash, but Ambrose comes out of nowhere and they brawl.

But instead you'll get jokes and Kane.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Don't be a lemon. Be a Rosebud!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Dear god. I havent even watched SD since the Punk/Hardy program

    ReplyDelete
  45. That's some Abeyance level of commentary there.

    ReplyDelete
  46. An HHH run probably wouldn't be the worst thing right now.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh, for fuck's sake. Don't explain it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That would be pretty solid. The first part.

    ReplyDelete
  49. CHEER ME OR BOO ME I RESPECT YOU AND YOUR RIGHT TO YOUR OPINION

    ReplyDelete
  50. This noose feels comfy

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm kind of surprised by that.

    ReplyDelete
  52. My 1st semester is finally coming to a end.

    ReplyDelete
  53. They are in this dreadful position right now BECAUSE they took a chance on someone.

    ReplyDelete
  54. we get a new 1/2 season this year. I'm enjoying it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. They came back with a 12 ep season, pretty good actually.

    ReplyDelete
  56. If they do go with the Cena/Brock program, they need to really give Brock some promo time. Really he's not THAT BAD.

    ReplyDelete
  57. In that stupid raised voice he does

    ReplyDelete
  58. No, but he doesn't sound like he looks. We don't need him to do the Howard Dean scream again.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Your voice will be heard WWE UNIVERSE!!! And that is why EVERY SINGLE guy in the back works SO HARD! For you, the WWE UNIVERSE!

    ReplyDelete
  60. He's actually has a good comic timing. When Heyman did his promo after Mania with him he was great, really subtle in his gestures.

    ReplyDelete
  61. "Acting like a Bo-ner"? Really? Bo-nehead was right there!

    ReplyDelete
  62. He's not though. He was fine in the limited time he got pre-Mania vs. Taker

    ReplyDelete
  63. Does disqus not update automatically on iPads?

    ReplyDelete
  64. It is just disqus, it has been doing that on a lot of devices as of late

    ReplyDelete
  65. You have lower promo standards than I do.

Brock does not need to speak. He can just hurt people and/or things. Paul can talk for him and be infinitely more effective.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Keep it clean!

    ReplyDelete
  67. WWE Champs of the past 12 months:

    John Cena
    Daniel Bryan
    Randy Orton
    Daniel Bryan
    Abeyance
    Randy Orton
    Daniel Bryan
    Abeyance
    John Cena

Kind of says something about the futility and meaningless of life. Or at least about sports entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Just DVR one or both?

    ReplyDelete
  69. RX is less than a year old.

Maybe you need to step up your game a bit.

    Need a stepladder?

    heh.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Well I don't see commercials and stuff since I don't have cable so unless I seek it out I don't always know what is on new.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I feel like I've seen enough

    ReplyDelete
  72. I agree,Brock's not that bad but he's more effective as silent bad ass.

    ReplyDelete
  73. His feelings are feeling really good right now and those feelings he's feeling make him ANGRY!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Congratulations Abey!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I love how Booker always relates it to making money

    ReplyDelete
  76. 2 time 2 time!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Malcolm in Penny Dreadful... Wow!
Also what did you think of leftovers?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Meh.

I prefer the married women smack, but that has apparently run its course.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Isn't that some kind of wink to the fact they wanted to give Danielson the name "Lloyd Boñer" when he first reported to FCW?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Booker toeing riiiiiight up to the line of "Cena obviously makes them tons of money, they shouldn't be mad."

    ReplyDelete
  81. Just something to make me feel better.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=931jyU4kynU

    ReplyDelete
  82. Buddy Peacock.

    ReplyDelete
  83. It does, but yeah, Disqus has been having problems as if late.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Should we just start calling it the WW championship though? Everyone else on TV does

    ReplyDelete
  85. I think if they put Booker T on the announce team with Lawler and Cole, the level of suck would create a brand new black hole.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontJune 30, 2014 at 5:58 PM

I REALLY hope they go with a decent main event for Battleground and not Cena vs Orton.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Abeyance held it twice?!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Well at least Ambrose/Rollins should be really good regardless of the rest of the card.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Orton owes him some falls right?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Booker would at least be more humorous.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Cena/Orton MCLXXXVIII will FINALLY get that Hogan/Warrior feel they want, I'm sure of it.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Took me forever to set up a league-style WWE Universe this afternoon for WWE 2k14 (since I have lots of time to kill till August). Big John Studd squashed Paul Roma like a bug.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontJune 30, 2014 at 5:59 PM

It does a little but for the most part no. Disqus sucks on iPads.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'm smelling a triple threat of Kane & Orton vs. Cena. Cena has to overcome some odds!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Moar like a "step mother* because she's probably married cooze
    #amIriteBoys?

    ReplyDelete
  96. Come on, show us the good ladder match.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I HATE that... it is really not that hard

    ReplyDelete
  98. Booker T + "black hole." Must be some type of racist comment........

    ReplyDelete
  99. 2 of Daniel Bryan's 3 WWE Title reigns have ended with him being stripped of the title.

His first reign he lost in 90 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I just had to hear Cole say greatest champion in WWE history again

    ReplyDelete
  101. I remember guaranteeing Jeter would get 3500 hits after he got 3,000...

    ReplyDelete
  102. Here's the deal: If they insist on doing these pre-game segments they need to at least reflect REAL wins/losses. Having no one say Cena would win last night was freakin' dumb. That'd be like an NBA fan analyst not picking the Heat to go to the ECF this year.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Stranger in the AlpsJune 30, 2014 at 6:02 PM

Gigantic crater in my front yard as I get my plumbing repaired. No RAW for me right now.

And in case anyone gets smart, YES, the plumbing problem was due to my daily routine of frozen burritos!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I gotta give Cole credit...how does he not want to punch himself in the face after listening to his voice all day long?

    ReplyDelete
  105. I was going to go with your tremendous level of douchiness.

    ReplyDelete
  106. We more of these moments.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Your voice sounds different in your own head.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Because it wasn't a slap in the face the first time they said it.

    ReplyDelete
  109. 1101... that means we have had the shitty 3 hour RAW'S for nearly 2 years. Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Leftovers was the best pilot I've seen since Lost. Thought the penny ep was the weakest of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  111. They're smiling because they remembered it makes no sense to be upset Cena's champ, King.

    ReplyDelete
  112. "I know some of you love me, and some of you hate me, but you're all the loudest fans there is, so let's all enjoy another thrilling episode of Monday Night RAW! The Champ is Here!"

There, just saved you the eventual Cena promo.

    ReplyDelete
  113. They really put me in a bind between deciding whether to have the Authority or Cena open the show. It's sad when I default to Triple H.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I honestly think he hates having to say a lot of the stupid shit he says

    ReplyDelete
  115. Love the fact I can now reply in the notifications

    ReplyDelete
  116. I wish I had a dollar for every time JBL referred to the Authority as a "power couple".

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'm pretty sure Cole hears himself as James Earl Jones.

    ReplyDelete
  118. That was the first thing I heard when I flicked it on, so we're of to a great start.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Hotshot the title onto Starbust tonight. That would be different!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Punk isn't coming back idiots!

    ReplyDelete
  121. I'd mark out for that.

    ReplyDelete
  122. 4 minutes in and there's already a CM Punk chant.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Oprah NoodlemantraJune 30, 2014 at 6:04 PM

That CM Punk chant died fast...

    ReplyDelete
  124. I'd like that.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Stranger in the AlpsJune 30, 2014 at 6:04 PM

    WRONG!

    Oh, and fuck you!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Well, that was a lot quicker than last night for the first Punk chant.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I can see Stephanie getting more plastic surgery in about 10 years. I bet she looks like Joan Rivers by then.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Really? We haven't quite let go of CM Punk chants?

    ReplyDelete
  129. Lol her script called for to mock yes chants that weren't there

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hey John we need you to wake up at 4 in the morning to do a radio interview with some dude from New Zealand.

    The champ is here indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Did he or is he close? Got I hate that fuck.

    ReplyDelete
  132. It's one of the most non-sensical chants in wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Meh. Just award the WHC to Steph.

    ReplyDelete
  134. If Daniel Bryan gets 20 seconds into a title defense, he's in the clear.

    ReplyDelete
  135. MikeyMike, King of ClevelandJune 30, 2014 at 6:05 PM

    Helllllllo everybody!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Wow, listen to this crowd chant for John Cena!

    ReplyDelete
  137. Good evening.

    ReplyDelete
  138. If they had Dusty join Goldust & Stardust, oh man, that'd be like the greatest team in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  139. This would be epic if it were a heel turn

    ReplyDelete
  140. Polarizing and controversial, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  141. Are we at the Hartford Civic Center? The epic site of WrestleMania XI?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  142. Wow. They really should just turn him, never mind the Make a Wish thing.

    ReplyDelete
  143. One day he will.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Oprah NoodlemantraJune 30, 2014 at 6:07 PM

I had to laugh at a guy who phoned in last night on the LAW who said he set his tattoo healing back one week taking his anger out on it due to Cena winning for a 15th time. It's still real to him dammit!

    ReplyDelete
  145. @cultstatus leftovers was an amazing first episode. Here's the problem with me and HBO, I've gotten emotionally invested in at least 5 HBO shows that were phenomenal and building long term stories that got canceled out of the blue after a season or two. I really hope they let this show run its course

    ReplyDelete
  146. Can't lie the belts around the neck looks cool

    ReplyDelete
  147. By the time Cena turns heel, I'm not even going to care.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Cena!!! yayy!!! I love that guy.. I'm wearing his wristbands on my dick right now!!!

    ReplyDelete
  149. They should reference the world cup and have Cena bite someone

    ReplyDelete
  150. Bret would not approve.

    ReplyDelete
  151. There's a problem when Cena comes up with the most inventive way to carry the belts.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Time for a mascot to start "rebelling" because he's just such a "rebel."

    ReplyDelete
  153. Will this be their version of Steve Austin refusing to go corporate the day after Mania XIV?

    ReplyDelete
  154. I'm still pissed off about Deadwood.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Like I said last night, I'm afraid they're going to have Cena face off directly against the authority. They are determined to have 52% of fans cheer for him instead of his usual 50%. They've tried so many stupid tricks over the last 2-3 years to do so

    ReplyDelete
  156. They need to get rid of the big gold belt. Why have two belts? As if this shit wasn't stupid enough already.

    ReplyDelete
  157. LEECH that heat, John. LEECH IT.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Leech the DB heat buddy

    ReplyDelete
  159. Once they cancelled Deadwood, I hesitate to get too involved in any HBO shows.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Two belts John...and you can't wear one?

    ReplyDelete
  161. Because Mattel hasn't approved of the change!

    ReplyDelete
  162. Oprah NoodlemantraJune 30, 2014 at 6:08 PM

    Happy panderin' Cena!

    ReplyDelete
  163. HBO have been pretty good about that lately

    ReplyDelete
  164. Please no talk of ripping off faces and flushing them down the toilet

    ReplyDelete
  165. Cena leeches somebody else's heat
    *drinks*

    ReplyDelete
  166. Ah yes. That's a good point.

    ReplyDelete
  167. intestinal fortitudeJune 30, 2014 at 6:09 PM

I hope Cena sends Bryan a "Don't Ever Give Up" hand towel

    ReplyDelete
  168. MikeyMike, King of ClevelandJune 30, 2014 at 6:09 PM

Hopefully were all lucky to see Randy Ortons ass again.

    ReplyDelete
  169. I'm sorry, but Cena wearing those belts around his neck looks ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  170. "That was....very special."

Ok, Steph actually made me LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Why wouldn't John Cena be happy about his 14th videogame cover?

    ReplyDelete
  172. The whole is beyond stale at this point. It's not even fun to mock it anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I hope you don't have plans tomorrow if you are going to keep doing that

    ReplyDelete
  174. Oprah NoodlemantraJune 30, 2014 at 6:09 PM

Prayers for an alternate cover like this years.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Already the new logo is in place.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I wish Johnny Ace had been on the cover of WWE 2k13. That cover was MONEY.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Beats last year's stupid cover with Rocky holding a microphone.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  179. It would be great if Brock just dropped from the rafters and landed on top of Cena, just starts beating the shit out of him

    ReplyDelete
  180. They were SO UPSET they had to put him on the video game.
