  1. DAMN THAT SCHERER!! *SHAKE HARDER, BOY!!*

  2. You can't really blame them for going back to Cena ... Summerslam is a big show and they need a reliable draw going into it. I guess now is not a time for bold choices.

  4. To your last question: No? Maybe? Who Cares, outside of the 100 people involved in the promotion?

(100 = wrestlers, staff, owner, fans, and you.)

  5. There should be a storyline where Kofi refuses to wrestle unless a plane full of cash arrives to the arena ASAP.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Someone posted a link to an interview from Meltzer in 1999 and he is asked about Scherer, who was trying to sue Meltzer back then. Here is an excerpt from this WrestleLine interview

"MIKE: Now what about Dave Scherer? Now we know there's something there.

MELTZER: I don't deal with Dave Scherer so there really is nothing there. I mean there might be something there from his side. He used to write me letters threatening to sue me and things like that, but to me it's just like ... there's people -- my life is too short, and my time is too short that if I was the kind of person that wanted to get into --- I don't have the time to get in silly feuds with people. And you know like Mike Lano or Dave Scherer or some people like that who try to goad me and stuff, it's just like ... I don't have time for it. I've got to be doing the newsletter every ... I've got to do 18 pages every week; I don't have time for this stuff. So, you know, I don't really think about it at all ... ever, to be honest with you."

    ReplyDelete
  7. Have you considered taking the information from jumbling it through a translator or two on google, then posting it here as 'sources close to Vince McMahon's brain'?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Makes you like Meltzer a lot more

    ReplyDelete
  9. One of the PWInsiderElite members would bitch about it and then I would probably have to deal with it all over again.
Its not like they intimidate me, they do not at all, but it is so not worth it and Twitter feuds are pathetic

    ReplyDelete
  10. maybe do a reverse psychology thing? according to NOT PW insider, Daniel Bryan NOT be out 4-6 months...etc etc.

    ReplyDelete
  11. See but if you use it as source of parody you're covered.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Pretty sure it was GDunn that was reporting you.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why not just use Wrestlezone, 411, or LOP as your source?

    ReplyDelete
  14. If HHH really is the genius who lives and breathes this business he makes himself out to be, he better figure out how to elevate three or four guys to main event status, quick.

    ReplyDelete
  15. ....you probably don't want to go down this road anymore, but a mind fuck where you post a blank "elite news" post every day and make it out to be a members only thing where we pretend we can read it

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yeah go read it in Paul's video game thread from yesterday. He changed his name to something else though "Owner of BoD" or some shit.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I can ask Scott about that.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ha, what a loser

    ReplyDelete
  19. Still working on that paywall?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Let's hope they continue the Rollins-Ambrose feud. By continue I don't mean they trade Raw wins and face off against each other in tag matches on Smackdown.

    ReplyDelete
  21. MikeyMike, King of ClevelandJune 30, 2014 at 8:20 AM

Nice work Scott. I'm digging the Sporting News pieces.
I'll say it again though, they dug their own grave with this crap and not having anyone to fill in if Cena got hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Nice article Scott.

I thought one of the most entertaining parts of last night was the heel turn by Wrestlezone whereby they are now RUTHLESSLY defending John Cena and if you don't like it they will call you ignorant and tell you to "deal with it".

    ReplyDelete
  23. Contract MitB match was awesome, championship one was blah. Cena/Lesnar at SummerSlam should be good at least.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Problem with the Seth thing: if he cashes in on Brock, then you have top heel Seth cashing in on mega heel Brock and you're wasting Brock's first "post ending the streak" loss on a MitB cash in. The alternative is John Cena, the most protected man in the company, is the one who gets to beat "The Man Who Broke the Streak". Ugh. UGH.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm about a few more dumb usages of Bray Wyatt's Exorcist walk from calling it one of the worst spots ever. They are trying too hard to propel that spot into matches, regardless of it being at most unreasoned times.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Damn it really sucks that Brock doesn't have enough dates to be champion for very long. The best story would be Brock killing Cena at SS (basically the 1st match but Brock wins), then holding the belt until WM, where he drops it to Rumble winner Reigns.

Brock has SO much credibility in the eyes of the fans right now, since he, you know, BROKE THE FUCKING STREAK, that whoever is the first one to beat him will get some of that tasty Taker rub for themselves. Seems like a waste for him to just drop it in September.

How about Brock beats Cena, loses at NoC in a multi-man where he doesn't get pinned, then wins the belt at the Rumble and does a Rock-like reign into Mania?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yeah, I was laughing my ass off when he busted it out last night. It was at a VERY inappropriate time, with 2 guys on top fighting for the belts and ignoring him. He came off like a child looking for attention.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Batista is writing for them?

    DEAL WITH IT!

    ReplyDelete
  29. A petulant child, would you say?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Where's that guy around here when you need him?

  31. Porn Peddlin' Jef VinsonJune 30, 2014 at 8:37 AM

Why list your source at all. I would be like a black gossip website like Mediatakeout and just say, "Well I heard that [X} is winning tonight."

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's really a shame Barrett was too injured to compete, because he made much more sense as a MitB winner. I don't see Rollins as a WWE World Heavyweight Champion. If the belt split was around, sure. But he's still about six months away from being anywhere near ready for a run at the top.

Can't see the logic, either, in him cashing in on the winner of SummerSlam, either. Letting Brock have a run might not be bad. Have Heyman talk about how Brock is too good for Raw, and he'll only appear at the PPVs. You can only see BROCK LESNAR on the Network.

Not using Brock at the B-Shows might also be good as a way to elevate some new talent without hot-shotting titles. Build up some new challengers, so that when Reigns is ready, he can believably take the monster on.

  34. Porn Peddlin' Jef VinsonJune 30, 2014 at 8:39 AM

I don't think the dog likes to be shaken that hard.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hadn't heard about Daniel Bryan needing a second neck surgery. That's not good at all.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Speaking of Barrett, did the announcers even mention him? I didn't hear anything brought up in regards to his status, nor did I even hear them mention why he was not participating. I'm wonder because I was busy in the midst of doing other activities while the PPV was on. It would be quite asinine if they ignored his disappearance, unless they all of a sudden assume everyone that watches the product reads the dirtsheets.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I know Renee mentioned it while they were talking about the match. Maybe it was during the pre-show. I can't recall them saying anything during the actual show, but my feed was cutting in and out and I missed the beginning of the briefcase match.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That's a lot of big picture conclusions to be drawn from this show.

Here was my takeaway: business is down, so they're setting up the biggest match they can currently do for the main event of their second-biggest show. Makes sense to me.

As far as not creating new stars.....Punk quit, Bryan's hurt, Barrett (obviously not nearly the star as the other two) now is hurt too. That's a blow to any depth chart. They've created a lot of new main event-level stars, and accepting the backlash of another Cena title run is probably worth protecting Reigns, Wyatt, Rollins, Ambrose, Barrett if he was healthy or Cesaro from being overextended too early. (Especially considering Cena/Brock will do good business, as will two months of Cena-as-champ house shows.)

    ReplyDelete
  39. He said in his promo last night that it was being considered.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, there really was no other option. You HAVE to do Cena/Brock at SS.

    ReplyDelete
  41. What does it say at the beginning of John Cena's theme? I'm pretty sure someone has asked before but I'm still not sure ... BRRRRRRRRRAAAAABDOOOOOOR~!

When I hear that music tonight and Cena arrives to celebrate his new belts and new t-shirt to commemorate his new belts, I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry ...

    ReplyDelete
  42. This is what happens when you do nothing with Cesaro after he was red-hot coming out of Wrestlemania.

This is what happens when you let Cena take out the damn Wyatt family 1-on-3 time and time again and never let Bray get a pinfall on him.

This is what happens when you give up on pushing Dolph Ziggler for injury reasons when Randy Orton has been just as injury prone.

And now, WWE is in panic mode, and it's all their own doing.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh, there's always another option. I agree with Scott that sometimes you just have to take the plunge with a new star even if they don't seen ready. But Rollins and Ambrose have a great thing going, as does Reigns with (assuming) Orton at Battleground and HHH at SS. I would've considered rolling the dice with Bray, but in the end Cena/Brock II was the way to go.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have no problems with John Cena facing Brock Lesnar. I was very critical of their decision of putting Cena over in the first place and deciding originally that there was no need to do a rematch. Of course, Lesnar getting his win back 2 years after isn't going to aid how much they marred his aura and momentum. But he will at least go over the figurehead of the company, propelling his monstrous reign.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Another advantage of a Cena/Brock program is that we'll inevitably get at least one Cena/Cesaro match as Cesaro serves as the Paul Heyman Guy substitute. That Raw match was fantastic.

Heck, WWE should run Cena/Cesaro at Battleground. The company desperately needs another top heel, and Cesaro has been oddly languishing since Mania and could use a solid program. It's better than yet another Cena/Kane or Cena/Orton match as a placeholder.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Really? You're coming into the all-important renewal phase for the Network and you're gonna run Bray/Brock?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ever since Brock came back, he has only faced people at his level (cena, show, punk, hhh, taker). With Undertaker, it is the same thing the last few wrestlemanias (punk, hhh, brock, michaels). Great way to build up the new guys, right?

Why can't Brock face Cesaro in a battle of the Heyman guys? Even if it is a loss for Cesaro, a 20-25 main event match would do wonders for him.

    ReplyDelete
  48. He was originally supposed to face Daniel Bryan for what it's worth. Plus, a Cesaro match is pretty much inevitable at this juncture.

    ReplyDelete
  49. That's an oddly specific gauge of new star creation.

    ReplyDelete
  50. they mentioned him right before they did the promos for all the contestants in the match

    ReplyDelete
  52. Why do Cesaro/Cena when Kane/Cena has been so consistent and dependable - WWE logic.

    ReplyDelete
  53. That's another good point, and another reason why I said even though I'd consider Bray, I'd still go with Cena/Lesnar.

    ReplyDelete

Comparing himself to Russo is awesome as well.

    ReplyDelete
  62. And THE DEMON KANE! Has been so LOYAL to the company for so many years. We should enjoy his push he's earned it. Give him another run with the belt.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Here's how I would do Cena/Lesnar at summerslam:
    1) HHH wants Cena to be the good little champ but Cena won't go along; Orton loses the match at Battleground
    2) HHH says he needs someone he can trust to take the title so he recruits Lesnar to win the title for him; remember it was originally supposed to be Bryan but put Cena in here instead
    3) Lesnar wins and as they are celebrating, HHH attacks Lesnar (like Bryan last year)
    4) Rollins cashes in and becomes the corporate champ

    ReplyDelete
  64. This is what happens when you do nothing with Cesaro after he was red-hot coming out of Wrestlemania.

This is what happens when you let Cena take out the damn Wyatt family 1-on-3 time and time again and never let Bray get a pinfall on him.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I bet Dean Ambrose's apartment there is nothing but a weight bench and pictures of Seth Rollins everywhere. What an awesome character and thanks to Dean because performers like him keep me watching a product that isn't BAD but is frustrating because it could be so much more. WCW was like that actually.

    ReplyDelete
  67. embrace the hate oops I mean consistancy

    ReplyDelete
  68. Well there's one thing in that paragraph that I would agree with.

    ReplyDelete
  69. To be honest, there really haven't been that many Kane/Cena matches considering their longevity in WWE. It's just that their early 2012 feud was so awful on so many levels that it already felt played out.

They haven't fought to the extent that Cena/Orton have. Actually, Money in the Bank 2014 marked the 20th time Cena and Orton have faced each other in a PPV match (counting stuff like MITB, Elimination Chamber, 3way and 4way matches) in seven years.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It was GDunn or what ever his name was. He admitted to getting your email about Facebook under false pretense and then turning it into Scherer. He know posts under BoD daddy. I vote we ban him.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yeah let him win the Rumble and then main event WM!

    ReplyDelete
  72. It feels like they've had a lot of Raw matches in between 2012 and now.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I don't know, even though Cena technically won the feud, Wyatt had his moments. Plus:

Match 1: Wyatt pretty much had Cena beat, but he chose to do mind games instead of going for the kill, and Cena got a fluke win.

Match 2: Wyatt did look weak despite winning, I'll admit it.

Match 3: Wyatt lost, but was protected in the sense that he wasn't actually knocked out for a 10 count, Cena simply trapped him so he was unable to get up.

    ReplyDelete
  74. "I bet Dean Ambrose's apartment there is nothing but a weight bench and pictures of Seth Rollins everywhere."

    That is awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Dammit I can't even debate any of that.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Seriously. Ambrose is either a great actor or just a little unhinged in real life.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Only if he eliminates Reogns last after HHH distracts Reigns. Just think of that rub for Reigns! Being involved in a major angle with two future WWE HOF'ers. It's a WIN-WIN-WIN!!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Couldn't we just steal directly from Meltzer? It's not like he gives a crap.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  80. Shit, don't say it's a slow news day or there's no news. Pointing it out usually means something VERY newsworthy and big (usually a death) happens.

It's either when someone points it out or Scott goes on a vacation. Scott, you're not planning on going anywhere anytime soon, are you?

    ReplyDelete
  81. I saw that.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Yeah, you always want to tease superstardom as long as possible while keeping your same top stars dominant. It always works and you can always pull the trigger later - Magnum TA.

    ReplyDelete
  85. If the plan really was for Rollins to get mega-over, then they grossly underestimated the talents of Dean Ambrose. This cat is a breath of fresh air.

    ReplyDelete
  86. OMG they're totally gonna go out of business! If only they had listened to you, but now it's TOO LATE!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Some kind of Clubber Lang/Travis Bickle/Crazy Joe Davola/Loose Cannon Brian Pillman thing.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'm just tired of Kane. He had his last "great' run as Team Hell No. He's in Big Show territory with me...they've been around so long that I just have no desire to see them in any angle of any form. Just go away.

    ReplyDelete
  89. yea my friend pointed that out when it happened.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I love that Bray does little things like laughing when he sees the phones or when the crowd sings along with him.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Piggybacking off what WhiteGoodman said, Cesaro vs. Cena at Battleground would be great in a lot of ways. First off, it would be an awesome match. But more importantly, it all could intertwine with the Lesnar/Cena feud. They emphasize the part where Cesaro takes Cena to the limit, to keep him looking strong in spite of losing. Heyman cuts a promo addressing that Cena was impressive in his win. However, he's going to have to be more impressive facing his next opponent Brock Lesnar. Meanwhile, this all plays back to Cesaro, who becomes more aware that Heyman doesn't care close to as much as he cares for Lesnar. They could even do a bit where Cesaro has a match and Heyman doesn't come out because he's too focused on something later on that night involving Lesnar.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Yep. That's exactly what I said. Jesus.

    ReplyDelete
  93. yea. I just think with a ppv a few weeks away try something other than cena. If it is failing put the belt on cena at battle ground but try something like Bray. Cena Brock 1 was good but am I the only one that things Bray vs Brock.....Bray and Heyman mind gaming the fuck out of each other would be epic?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Cesaro isn't getting the battleground match vs cena. probably orton/kane/del rio

    ReplyDelete
  97. I'm figuratively addressing why it would be an ideal plan.

    ReplyDelete
  98. 3 way...Cena Orton Kane with HHH as Ref....Cena goes over.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Cena vs. Orton vs. Del Rio. Not even WWE Network subscribers will watch that.

    ReplyDelete
  100. You think he has an awesome life?

    ReplyDelete
  101. The question I'm kicking around in my head is this: If Cena jobs the title to Brock, why have Rollins win the briefcase? It doesn't make sense for a heel, backed by the authority, to have a briefcase for a heel champion. Unless, god forbid, they have planned out in advance for Rollins to hold the briefcase for nearly a year after Reigns wins at WM...naahhh, they don't plan that far ahead.

    ReplyDelete
  102. At this point I think Dean shows how average some wrestlers really are. I have nothing against Sheamus but put half as much effort into your character "fella" as Dean does and you would be much more over. I think part of it with dean, beyond great execution, is you know he is doing more than what is written on the page for him. He does what they tell him to do but doesn't just stop there.

    ReplyDelete

  104. Brock can't have a big long title reign can he? With the limited schedule he probably will be losing it by survivor series. They probably aren't going to have Seth cash in anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Assuming Brock wins (which I don't think is a given), who does he job the title back to?

    ReplyDelete
  106. I wondered about that..Are they going to have him feud with Kane..tonight or something and then move back to Seth? Using Kane to keep the Seth feud fresh till Summerslam? Or do something really stupid and Tito/Martel this and we never great a true payoff?

    ReplyDelete
  107. WWE Films should make a movie with Bill Murray playing the part of John Cena called Groundhog Day: Word Life.

    ReplyDelete
  108. That's very true. Ambrose is WAY comfortable with his character and the jeans and wife-beater is almost too perfect a look for him. Ambrose is either the best method actor in wrestling today or a part of him is actually out there in real life. Shades of Brian Pillman. He's even from Cincinnati.

    ReplyDelete
  109. "Once he returns from filming the WWE Studios project Vendetta, the Big Show's return feud is rumored to be with Rusev."

    Just fuck everything.

    ReplyDelete
  110. That is soooo WCW. Lets build a guy up as a giant monster...and have him feud with the guy that will make him look small.

    ReplyDelete
  111. at least BIg Show will job to him. But at this point, does that mean anything anymore? (Answer, no it does not)

    ReplyDelete
  112. Cena-Brock 2? And the Reigns superpush looming? I'll take that happily.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I didn't even think of it that way. I just thought of it as this fucking guy is gonna be getting more airtime.

    ReplyDelete
  114. If they Tito/Martel this, I'm finished. That would be the last clear proof that Vince has lost his mind and HHH is impotent as COO.

Ambrose/Kane at Battleground would be okay...I guess...in order to delay a 25-minute brawl with Rollins to Summerslam.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I kind of agree with you I'm all for the new guys and we need as much new as possible but I'm so bored by the gimmick the execution and everything with him. He's giant so lets use a camel clutch.....really?

    ReplyDelete
  116. MikeyMike, King of ClevelandJune 30, 2014 at 9:50 AM

He's particularly terrible even for WZ standards.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Cena at Night of Champions. The first round of subscribers will have their 6 month period end the week after Summerslam. So they'll book the rematch for Night of Champions and have Cena win it back there, watch. Unless they actually managed to get Brock to sign a bigger deal.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Plus, they're so devoted in always protecting him. So it will likely be one of those feuds where he dominates the entire thing, Rusev wins fluky, and somehow they want us to believe that Rusev came out the better man. I mean, look how they protected him against Lesnar, the guy that was gonna feud with Taker after that.

    ReplyDelete
  119. That'd be a nice idea, but in actuality, Cesaro will probably look like garbage like most of Cena's opponents do after he ends the match by no longer selling anything they did and posing like he beat a jobber, and they'll immediately transition to "That loser couldn't get it done so now we need Brock Lesnar to do it". Then Cesaro can spend the next month being Curtis Axel and running around being a goof so the real men can fight.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I think so too, but luckily it's just been confined to two years (and non-PPVs) and not seven like Orton/Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  121. The Cena placeholder feuds when he's the champ inevitably result in whoever his opponent is ending up in worse shape than when they went in.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Eh why not? Better than throwing Big Show at Reigns or Wyatt or god help us, Cena and the title. Big Show in the camel clutch should at least be an interesting visual.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Some here feel that the fans should have to sit through Kane's reward for loyalty by being put in another high profile feud, despite being about as boring as a "monster" can be.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Crikey Mate Down Under AussieJune 30, 2014 at 9:56 AM

I implore the WWE to think VERY carefully about how they book Ambrose in the coming months, he can become big if he harnesses Punk's pipebomb style promos combined with a fearlessness in the ring, throwing himself at anything.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Until he loses the title right back to Cena one month later because Cena needs his win back, Brock doesn't have enough dates to hold the title until Wrestlemania (or even the Rumble) unless he signed a bigger deal, and they'll want a big main event for NoC because the first round of subscribers expire the week after Summerslam.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Whoa whoa whoa. Didn't that end with Brock mercilessly beating Big Show with a chair and winning in a minute?

    ReplyDelete
  127. The renewal phase doesn't start until the week AFTER Summerslam.

    ReplyDelete
  128. You have a very different vantage point on that match than the majority, my friend.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Then Show walked out of the match looking like he drank some bad coffee.

    ReplyDelete
  130. That Tombstone on Ambrose was HORRIBLE.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Yea book him as punk not Rogue Matt Hardy please

    ReplyDelete
  132. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Honestly, I don't see any reason not to try it, but I doubt WWE has that kind of confidence in Cesaro. I hope I'm wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  133. It's kind of remarkable that 14 guys killed themselves with ladders last night and the only real injury of note was Orton getting busted open hardway.

    ReplyDelete
  134. There was one time...I think someone hit him with the ladder where he basically backed away to get his hands up to protect himself and then gingerly bumped off it. I mean if the guy can't go anymore...fine but don't have him taking bumps in a ladder match. I feel that whole match was booked to be ...."please be careful! we can't afford to lose any of you"

    ReplyDelete
  135. I probably do, but I saw a shitty buildup followed by a squash.

  136. did 14 guys kill themselves? 7 half way through the show did but in that main event?

    ReplyDelete
  137. I really hope Triple H actually has a reason for why the authority doesn't want Cena as champ tonight because I'm not sure why he wouldn't, Cena is more corporate than the stooges.

    ReplyDelete
  138. He wasn't HHH's pick, and his super ego won't let him accept that.

    ReplyDelete
  139. "RAW Preview: Champ vs. Authority"

Oh, please no. We really don't need to see "John Cena vs. Heel Authority Figure of the Month" for the hundredth time. It's been done to death so much already and it never makes any sense, given what we know about John Cena. Please, I'm begging this company for ONE FRESH MAIN EVENT ANGLE!

    ReplyDelete
  140. It appears as though the writers are letting Ambrose do his own thing a little. I think if you let Ambrose do the "Piper" (where he is off in his own little world outside of everything else that's going on), he will be bigger than anyone by the end of the year. Look at how far he's come since Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  141. ....that would make a good angle....If HHH was all for Cena being champ and Cena getting super defensive about not being their guy.

    ReplyDelete
  142. To the casual crowds, I'm sure it does. Same for beating Khali really. Always a cool visual to beat a giant.

some other site is saying that there any issues peeps had with the network were attributed by wwe to high network traffic

not sure if i believe that

"machael, big show is smiling at her. i think he likes anal!

    ReplyDelete
  145. First off, Big Show dominated the buildup, either beating Lesnar in a fight segment or having Lesnar chicken out of a fight. Secondly, Lesnar cheap shotted Show before the bell even rang. Thirdly, Jerry Lawler illustrated that Lesnar was using the chair because he knows he cannot beat Show in a fair fight. Fourthly, Big Show even got in a hope spot after the beatdown in the chair. He knocked Lesnar down with a punch. In any way, shape, or form did that enhance Lesnar. It was them trying to protect one guy while trying to get another guy more over - which rarely ever works.

  146. It was weird though. Since mania We had not had any problems at the place I watched but last night it would freeze a number of times...oddly enough it would unfreeze every time someone came out of the bathroom.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Yes they do, which is why people hated WM 29 so much apparently. They had 2 long term plans and stuck with them.

  153. ehh...after the first ladder match we weren't too concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  154. #1 I'm with you on.
    #2 I thought was awesome.
#3 I've long since muted commentary so probably.
#4 Every face should get a hope spot. Even Show.

It was a six minute matchup. Of which four were Brock mercilessly beating him with a chair. I'll take it.

    ReplyDelete
  155. That first ladder match was really treading in MOTY territory until that finish.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I was at work last night and randomly came upon the network while looking for stuff to watch while I stuffed newspapers, I just figured our internet was shit.

It would be a very bad sign if they are already cutting bandwidth.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I really wish that Brock would agree to a few months of active duty at a time instead of just flat out limited dates.

Like if they signed him to their contract, but from December to WM, he needs to work 3 Raws, 1 house show a week, 1 PPV, and 1 taped segment for the 1 Raw he doesn't work.

Then WWE can do actual short-term stories with Brock going nuts on people before taking the rest of the year off until Summerslam and Night of Champions, then off again until December to WM again.

    ReplyDelete
  158. There were plenty of guys napping during the matches while the others hit their spots.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I woudln't be surprised if they were playing with fire a little. Seeing what they could get away with and if things go south say they had amazingly high demand.

This is true. Lesnar was hurt right out of the gate and due to his limited schedule it took a long time to rebuild him.

  166. Whoa whoa whoa now, sir. Don't downplay the Authority Figure storyline. It's a time-honoured tradition that that storyline will NEVER die and absolutely MUST be the the top storyline. It's been the top storyline since 1997!

    ReplyDelete
  167. yea we were all stupid to like wrestling back in the days when the top heel was a you know...actual full time wrestler.

  168. MikeyMike, King of ClevelandJune 30, 2014 at 10:28 AM

He didn't come off as too optimistic in his promo either. I was expecting a big "I'm coming back and I'm taking the title, you can bet on that' type of speech.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Now that Cena has been crowned, will he last long enough as champion to
deliver on his longstanding promise to give Bryan a no-questions-asked
    opportunity at the title?

If Brock can show up after 4 months and ask for a title shot then why couldn't D-Bry? Hell, why couldn't you or I since there doesn't seem to be any criteria for getting one.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Agreed, That was how I almost ended that post. It felt that way to me. Like we don't want these guys in a ladder match but it's the name of the damn show..

    ReplyDelete
  171. MikeyMike, King of ClevelandJune 30, 2014 at 10:37 AM

It was definitely a spot but the pace was just so awesome. Ambrose and Rollins were amazing and Dolph did a great job trying to grab the briefcase with a bum ankle. Definitely better than Sheamus just staring at the belts. It reminded me of when I played Smackdown v. Raw and I couldn't grab the title in time because I was pressing the wrong button. My wrestler would look like an idiot up there trying to grab the belt and doing nothing instead.

Rusev is a killer... His size isn't the major factor

    ReplyDelete
  175. If Lesnar hasn't agreed to more dates, and they're going to book NoC as a big deal, they could put Reigns over Brock *then* instead of waiting for Mania.

After the Kane interference I was one of the men napping.

    ReplyDelete
  177. That's what was really galling about the Cena win. It's not that it wasn't expected, but that it happened after he literally disappeared for 20 minutes while everyone else did all the work.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Because Brock Lesnar (in both kayfabe and real-life) can crumple you up into a basketball and shoot you through a hoop if you don't cede to his demands. Can't say the same thing about Daniel Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  179. The sad part is it would be so easy to freshen up Cena. Just one simple Attitude Adjustment to a make a wish kid and boom you are printing money.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Seems Bryan can't crumple a sheet of paper at the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Froze twice during the PPV for me personally.

    ReplyDelete
  182. When it was Vince who inexplicably hated the Ronald McDonald who made him millions upon millions of dollars, they didn't have a reason either.

    ReplyDelete
  183. If this is used to get Rusev to a top spot, even for a short while... why the fuck not?

On the other hand, if this is just to set up LOL BIG SHOW IS BIG, then fuck everything.

  186. I watched No Way Out 2001 instead of MITB. Austin vs HHH was amazing. *****, smart finish, HHH took a RUTHLESS ass kicking. I don't think I've ever seen any match where a guy takes that much offense, just an amazing match.

    ReplyDelete
  187. We've gone over this one enough. The Cena "plan" was FLAWED, HORRIBLY. His so-called "worst year ever" was not that bad.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Yep. There was a definite lack of Cena killing himself.

    ReplyDelete
  189. He lost, he won after Cena won the match 12 times, he lost.

    ReplyDelete
