  1. That's cool they signed KENTA. I'm glad my research to get the 3 different guys straight will actually pay off. It will be interesting to see how long he gets stuck in nxt for.

  2. Also what's the deal with stings 7-14-14 thing? Is that supposed to mean that he's gonna be on raw Monday?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Battleground: Wyatt, time to shine again. Remind people why they started cheering you in the first place, and get that "Cena Stink" off of you.
    KENTA: We shall see.
YouShoot: Dixie, Russo, and Evan Bourne? One of these things is not like the others... (in a good way).

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yeah just have Jericho watch that Wyatt vs Bryan match from the rumble and he should be good to go. They should try and steal the show at battleground

  5. Probably just the video game.

  11. Cavs/Nets/Celts make a 3-team trade so the Cavs can clear a ton of cap space.

Celts get Marcus Thornton, Tyler Zeller, and a 2016 1st rd pick from Cleveland that is protected

Nets get Jarrett Jack and Sergey Karasev

Cleveland will get two of the second rounders that the Nets drafted and will have $21.7 in cap space available.

  12. Hootie and the Blowfish. They are semi local to the area so they played here a lot... I saw them on 12/30/1994... they played the Dick Clark New Years Eve Special... they went on to have a HUGE year in 1995 and have on of the highest grossing albums of all time so I can say that I (barely) saw them before they were famous.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I fucking hate that expression. I know the 70's get a lot of praise but their music doesn't hold up well at all and is so boring and devoid of feeling. As for the 1980's I like them quite a bit (though it depends on what you are talking about) but they are not nearly as good as the 1990's.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Uncrusimatic_Buck_NastyJuly 9, 2014 at 10:21 AM

see, i'd say that 90's music was devoid of feeling and aimed at mass appeal (granted, a lot of 80's stuff was, too)

that scene in ted where's he's doing karaoke is spot on

    ReplyDelete
  22. A Goo Goo Dolls in the mid nineties when I was 13. First time seeing a shit faced band too. Band started playing Iris, singer started singing slide. After an uncomfortable minute and a half the band deliberated and restarted Slide. Weird to watch happen.

    ReplyDelete
  23. But how long will they wait? The concern is that his heat disappears before that happens. It seems that the plan would be that upon Brock's return, Heyman totally forgets about Cesaro which leads to the face turn at last. Cesaro swinging Heyman would get a massive reaction.

Breaking Benjamin and Staind opening for 3 Doors Down in Cincinnati.

It was about 95 degrees and the concert was outside. After five songs, all of Cincinnati went into a brown out. The girl I was there with insisted we wait, so after about an hour, 3 Doors Down's singer came out with a microphone and a guy with a snare drum and did roughly ninety minutes of acoustic.

So for the Japanese wrestling fans (I personally have no idea who KENTA is), what's the best case scenario with him? I know Yoshi Tatsu & Jimmy Wang Yang and "I cutta you peepee" and all that as far as WWF history with Japanese guys... but does this one have a chance? What's the best case scenario that he comps to?

  27. This frees up $33 million for the Celtics after this season. I like this deal.

    ReplyDelete
  28. To me the 1970's was all about how you could play this awesome incredibly long guitar riff that I admit takes a ton of talent, but has absolutely no heart. I would take Nirvana over Boston any day.

When you talk about 1980's are you talking about the crappy synth pop stuff, or are you talking about hair metal?

Really psyched about the Jericho/Wyatt feud. Even just so far, I love that jericho has taken him uber seriously on the mic, has talked about the Wyatt Family as being a real threat, and also established that he himself was prepared to "get nuts" in order to combat them. Nice change of pace from the silliness of the Cena feud.

  52. Jesus Christ, no. The Stones hit their peak in the early 70's, you had in-their-prime Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, the best few Elvis Costello albums, Stevie Wonder's peak, Rush's peak (IMO), Neil Young's peak, CSN, the Allman Brothers, Little Feat, etc. Plus, the 70's top-40 stuff completely buries the 90's.

I love a lot of 90's stuff (Nirvana, Foos, PJ, AIC, Radiohead, Soundgarden), but this isn't even close. To each his own and all that, but you're making a nearly impossible argument to defend.

    ReplyDelete

  107. I've only been to two concerts by the same performer: Bryan Adams. Although the first time is actually a pretty good little story.

My girlfriend at the time (High School time, that is) got us tickets for the concert for our one-year anniversary. We even got great "seats": on the floor standing nearly front row, like maybe four rows away from the stage. And it was a grand 'ol time. Adams really knows how to put on a show, including about four or five encores, three of which were just him alone on the stage strumming on the guitar.

The highlight, though, was about halfway through the show, Adams wanted to give himself and the band a break. Instead of going right to intermission, he started calling up people from the audience. He asked for a singer, a drummer, a guitar player, etc. For one song, this throw-together band would get to perform on stage.

Adams asked if anyone in the audience played bass guitar. My girlfriend did, in fact, so she raised her hand. Bryan got a good look at her - all five foot nothing of her - and said, "Oh come on now, you don't play bass guitar." She nodded excitedly and said she did. "All right, come on up."

So she goes up on stage and stand in front of him in front of a crowd of thousands. He looks her up and down and says again, "Now honey, be honest. You don't play bass guitar." She said, "Yes I do!" He said, "All right, go over there."

So she - along with the rest of the thrown-together band played Summer of 69. She said afterwards that it was the nicest, most expensive guitar she'd ever held in her entire lifetime.

  130. Love also just said he would re-sign with the Cavs if he was traded there and LeBron was with him.

  131. Heh, the singer Bryan called up was asked to name their makeshift band. The dude was too excited - and maybe a little drunk - and just shouted, "BRYAN RULES!"

That sort of irrational emotional outburst is exactly what I would expect of a Nickleback fan.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Yup heard that too. I still personally think LeBron will stay in Miami AND Bosh as well, but the Cavs deal sounds possible

    ReplyDelete
  134. That wasn't the only thing he was afraid to burn

I'm sorry, but this is for your own good.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Because Miami is more desirable than Cleveland and they do not have Dan Gilbert in Cleveland, who thought a washed up Shaq and Antawn Jamison plus Mo Williams were good enough to give LBJ a shot at the championship.

  137. He could be a Paul Heyman guy, maybe he can use the Go To Sleep as his finisher now that no-one's using it. In fact, that could be a good Heyman promo:

"I don't know why you people boo my client's finishing move, he's been using it for years in Japan before it was stolen by someone who shall remain nameless."

  140. Here's a good spin-off question: what band or performer do you regret never being able to see?

Personally, I wish I could've seen a Michael Jackson concert just once in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  141. He needs to totally heel it up and do it from his hot tub this time while white women feed him grapes

    ReplyDelete
  142. Hornets aren't gonna be too bad

    ReplyDelete
  143. My first concert was a Blues Traveler show at the Orpheum theater in Boston. It was Halloween 1997, five days before my 18th birthday, and I was in my freshman year of college. It was there that I realized I never wanted to go see a jam band in concert again. A 20-minute performance of Hook and Runaround? No thank you.

Plus, EVERYONE was toking up. A security guard came over to the guy in front of me, clearing smoking pot in the relatively-small audience. I thought he was going to kick the guy out. Nope, he asked for a hit. I'm not sure I made it through the whole thing.

Johnny Lang opened for BT. That was a pretty good set.

  144. They are a 7-8 seed in the East

    ReplyDelete
  145. I don't know if LBJ's ego would let him return to Cleveland after what happened when he left but maybe he realized it was a mistake to leave the way he did.

All the rumors and social media stuff just seems like a ploy by the Cavs. I think at the end of the day, he stays with the Heat

    ReplyDelete
  146. It's because he smokes pot, right?

    ReplyDelete
  147. That rumor got shot down by Wojo

The Who and Rage Against the Machine. Also Tool, but I guess that's still possible. Last time they were in Buffalo was something like 1993 opening for Smashing Pumpkins, and at that point I had never heard of them. I did see A Perfect Circle with Nine Inch Nails, but APC was so bombed they could barely play.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I think he realizes now that the pieces that the Cavs have now will give him a much better chance of winning for the next five years and beyond.

  153. But does he want to spend his prime with a roster of young players?

    ReplyDelete
  154. If Heyman talked up Cesaro's abilities at all that might help. As it is this whole deal has felt like the slow build to Cesaro getting sick of Heyman talking about Brock all the time and turning face. And until that happens (if ever) it just feels like we are in a never-ending holding pattern.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Of course. He won't have to play through a million minutes a season. He'll have Love with him, Varejao, Miller, and Allen who are all proven veterans. Kyrie is up and coming and could be a real stud as well. If Love doesn't go to Cleveland, then they have Wiggins still.

I don't get the hate for Nickleback. Don't get me wrong, I'm not rushing out to see them (I did see them at a festival right when "The State" came out and they were pretty decent), but there's FAR worse bands out there.

    ReplyDelete
  158. That is what I was getting at yes

    ReplyDelete
  159. At this point it's a nut punch to the Cavs if he doesn't, which sucks because it wouldn't be his fault. He hasn't said a word.

    ReplyDelete
  160. It seems needlessly repetitive though. Didn't they JUST do that with Swagger and Zeb? The guy built up a great swell of support because people were dying to see him turn on somebody -- seems kinda silly for them to climax that, only to put him in a NEW partnership built on the premise of getting people to look forward to his turn.

I'd have to go with Sheryl Crow, can't stand her voice and even if she could sing her songs would still suck.

  165. Thing about Lebron and Cleveland, it's not only about Gilbert, it's not about multiple rings with a young roster. Whoever brings a championship in Cleveland (NFL/NBA/MLB) will be the mother of all rock stars. He will have done the absolute impossible. So just for the ego trip, Lebron might be tempted to give it a try.

Band you've seen the most times? For me it's Our Lady Peace by a mile, before they got really popular they were still pretty big around here thanks to our proximity to Canada, and I swear they were here about once every 6 weeks, for like $10. I always went because for some reason there was always a ton of pussy at OLP shows.

"NAW. Why the hell would I go back to that DUMP??? You couldnt pay me enough. See you in Miami." (mic drop)
