Evening Thread - Tuesday Edition

Tonight, on the WWE Network, at 8:00 ET it's Main Event live with Dean Ambrose taking on Alberto Del Rio; at 9:00 ET it's Wrestlemania Rewind which spotlights the Triangle Ladder Match from Wrestlemania XVI (otherwise known as WM2000); and at 10:00 ET it's WWE Countdown, which is a repeat of the top ten finishing moves episode.

Full schedule in MLB, or just post some random stuff. We don't judge here at the BoD.

    Evening everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  2. I like Del Rio getting these showcase matches against Reigns and Ambrose. If he impresses whoever he needs to impress in the back, it could lead to him getting an actual storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Another night here. I don't if that's bad.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Please just fire del rio already. He has lost everything that made him interesting

    ReplyDelete
  5. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:06 PM

Watching a Raw from 1995. Road to Mania 11.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I was going through all the Raw and SmackDown shows from 1997 onward and got through 2001 but I hit a wall in the build to WM X8. I've been thinking of pushing through just to get to the brand split so I can enjoy the SmackDown Six era of 2002.

    ReplyDelete
  7. From a great debut to that.

    ReplyDelete
  8. For you or me?
    Definitely leaning towards me.

    ReplyDelete
  9. "We don't judge here at the BoD."

    WE DON'T???

    ReplyDelete
  10. He isn't given anything to work with. Every other mid-card to main event heel on the roster has a story, an angle, a motivation, SOMETHING. Del Rio just goes out and has (good) matches. The writers/bookers don't put him in position to be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  11. From being a killer to a punching bag.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Paul Heyman was booking the Smackdown six, wasn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  13. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:08 PM

    Go hit in some broads.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Didn't seem that way when Scherer's dog was around.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yeah he was. SmackDown was really great that entire year. Looking forward to watching it. Just gotta trudge through another month of Raw.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Paul Heyman might have his fare share of bad booking, but he does something good, It's just awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  17. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:09 PM

So basically Summerslam 02 til....when did he get removed as ahead Writer?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Then become interesting in the ring. Push yourself to vince with angles. Last year he had only 1 good storyline and that was with ziggler.
He needs to change himself because he's the same guy as he was 4 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It's like light and Darkness that year. Smackdown having great matches while Raw in the Reign of terror.

    ReplyDelete
  20. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:10 PM

Raw was really shitty IMO for almost all of 2003. Got good again in 2004.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Poor Snuggles.....

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm already doing that.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Even before SummerSlam 2002 SmackDown had some hugely fun stuff like Edge/Jericho and Edge/Angle.

But not really sure when he was removed. 2003 was solid too but the roster wasn't used as well and the McMahon/Hogan/Sable/Gowen stuff weighs it down.

    ReplyDelete
  24. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:11 PM

    On a wrestling blog?

    ReplyDelete
  25. How do you know he isn't pushing ideas and angles to the decision-makers? And I think he is interesting in the ring. That match with Reigns on SD last week was really good and it was Del Rio carrying it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:11 PM

Then by the JBL era it became unwatchable.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Excluding cena, who is in the most need of a heel/face turn?

    ReplyDelete
  28. You know, in the sadness that is the possible ending of TNA, I've changed my avatar back to Power Ranger Magnus.

    ReplyDelete
  29. No. In college.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Usos have their pyro on Main Event. That's a waste of bills.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Paul's problem -- and Scott pointed this out once -- is his booking is all build and no payoff. Like all of the matches around crowning Smackdown's first tag team champions built up to an underwhleming tripe threat match at Survivor Series.

    ReplyDelete
  32. What is the size of the neck on Big E's shirt? Like a 22?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Or Taz vs Sabu at Barely Legal.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't know if I'd lay the blame for that SS match on Heyman. It just didn't get enough time. That match needed 30 minutes but the chamber match wound up getting all that time.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think he's on the shit list since he's spoke about retiring when this run was up.

    ReplyDelete
  36. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:14 PM

It wasn't a BAD match. Still pretty decent. Just weird the Guerreros went over.

    ReplyDelete
  37. They need to get rid of all pyro, not just have some for others.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Friends of Cena always get their pyro.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Interesting how Cena never uses it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Also, they pretty much did nothing with Tag Champion Guerreros, did they?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Raw in 2004 was really underrated. Evolution had some great foils and it had some quality stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  42. He's calling out for help.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Musical Chairs forever!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I would have loved to have seen an extended feud over the tag titles between Guerreros and Edge/Rey. Imagine a possible ladder match between them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. "We don't judge here at the BoD."

I didn't sign off on that

    ReplyDelete
  46. Because they want everyone to act like they can't live without WWE, or because retirement talk gives him an expiration date and there's no need to push him when they're no future in it?

    ReplyDelete
  47. "Wrestlemania Rewind which spotlights the Triangle Ladder Match from Wrestlemania XVI (otherwise known as WM2000)"

Now did this count as a TLC match?

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think he meant go do it now, kid.

    ReplyDelete
  49. No, the official on cake later in the year.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Not technically. The first was SummerSlam. I think Wm2000 kinda gets grandfathered in.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm just trolling Jobber in case he shows up

    ReplyDelete
  52. "Dean Ambrose looks to send a message to Seth Rollins"

    He should use Tout!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ah. Is that one of his causes? That he considers it TLC 0 or something?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jesus. He's been face way too fucking long.

    ReplyDelete
  55. No one else seems to get it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm kind of glad they don't plug that anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  57. There was one thread where he went ballistic that that this counted as a TLC match... argued it for hours.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Got the first Game of Thrones book, so far it's great book.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Isn't he and his father already heels?

    ReplyDelete
  60. No, this was TLC1, add one to all the others.

    ReplyDelete
  61. To those who don't believe.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ah okay. I'm bummed I missed that. I always enjoy watching him when he gets jazzed up about something.

    ReplyDelete
  63. So which wrestlers will be future endeavored this week (no tna people)?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jesus was a pretty chill dude in the New Testament. He was like the Beta version of Rob Van Dam.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It's been a while since Big Show turned, no? At least a few weeks. He may be bordering on a record.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well, he did kill a bunch of people on a flood.

    ReplyDelete
  67. But he's dating an oscar winner

    ReplyDelete
  68. He's still employed? They probably should move him to the legal department...

    ReplyDelete
  69. I enjoy that the Steph Brie segment got over... granted it was Jamie Noble that it got over but still that's SOMETHING

    ReplyDelete
  70. I read it is just going to be mostly behind the scenes folk.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Not Jesus. That was his dad. Old Testament God? Totally a heel. Jesus? Tough argument to make if you've read the Bible.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Titus has a weird abdomen... it is like he has a guy and a 6 pack at the same time

    ReplyDelete
  73. Let's see how he handles the PR.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I feel like there would've been less complaining about last night's RAW closing out with an interview segment between two non-main-eventers if those non-main-eventers were, say, Jericho and Bray Wyatt instead of Stephanie and Brie Bella.
From the reactions I read referring to it as "two chicks arguing" and a "catfight" and "two hens squawking," I'm thinking some people's problem was less with the segment itself and more with it being two women.

    ReplyDelete
  75. He just stares at people and sips coffee until they give up and walk away.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Jesus is supposed to turn heel in Revelations, but why is it taking so long?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Nakanishi gut.

    ReplyDelete
  78. God=Vince
    Jesus= Steph
    No Mercy 03.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Yup. Google search it. Many pro bodybuilders get it.

    ReplyDelete
  80. He's still a draw.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I am mostly concerned about why they weren't at home servicing a man as they are supposed to be

    ReplyDelete
  82. Brian Cage has that issue.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I watched the show this morning and skipped the end of the live thread. I thought the Steph-Brie segment was fantastic. They did a great job building the match and gave it a ton of heat.

Like I said this morning, it's probably the biggest crowd reaction Brie Bella ever got.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I have a feeling his special supplements are the reason WWE or TNA won't sign him.

    ReplyDelete
  85. God total heel.
He destroyed sodom and gamorra. He flooded the earth.
He messed with lot for a shitty reason

    ReplyDelete
  86. In the Jesus stays as a face.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Mister_E_KindaBuzzedAllBecauseJuly 29, 2014 at 6:30 PM

So I actually have more work sponsored hours of eating and drinking this week than I have hours in the office. It's kinda neat.

    ReplyDelete
  88. And approved ton of crazy laws.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Well, Steph just got done with Triple H before the segment started. And if Daniel Bryan made Brie become a vegetarian, there's a very good reason why she's not eating any meat, if you know what I mean...

    ReplyDelete
  90. Too bad, because he's f'n machine.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Tyson kidd on the main roster?

    ReplyDelete
  92. I kind of want Steph to win now, just to see if she will pull a Vince and have Brie bark.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Mister_E_KindaBuzzedAllBecauseJuly 29, 2014 at 6:31 PM

Totally. No one wants to watch women do non-sexual things.

Also, Steph was great, but the Bella was horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  94. He's been heeling it up on NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Welcome to the BoD!

    ReplyDelete
  96. I feel like it would be less of a problem if Stephanie McMahon wasn't one of the women.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Uncrusimatic_Buck_NastyJuly 29, 2014 at 6:32 PM

    everyone: "ABEYYYYYYYYYYYY"

bucky: how's it goin' mr. ance1?

    ReplyDelete
  98. Has Kidd always done the TJ Perkins "stuck in the ropes" spot?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Eh, Brie's nowhere near as hot as Trish. Won't be the same.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Might be 6 pack implants

    ReplyDelete
  101. Hey, that's my line!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Is Tout still a thing? I just took it off my iPad this week.

    ReplyDelete
  103. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! Make it stop! Make it go away!

    ReplyDelete
  104. No one reads the bible they just pretend it says things that justify what they already think

    ReplyDelete
  105. You actually downloaded it?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Rocky Romero does it sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Uncrusimatic_Buck_NastyJuly 29, 2014 at 6:34 PM

lol, i've said that ever since he debuted

he's somehow both jacked and fat at the same time

    ReplyDelete
  108. I spent nine years in Catholic school. You better believe I read it.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I won't give you proof that I did. You just have to believe.

    ReplyDelete
  110. They're waiting until the NXT smoke machine gets called up.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I can't be the only person that found that segment hot

    ReplyDelete
  112. Uncrusimatic_Buck_NastyJuly 29, 2014 at 6:35 PM

    TRICK QUESTION

    wwe only has sportz entertainterz

    ReplyDelete
  113. He's been a face since last September, right?

    ReplyDelete
  114. HHH and Stephanie are like the white Jay-Z and Beyoncé. Only difference is I'm supposed to hate HHH and Steph.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Slater wins a match?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Trish on all fours barking like a dog or last night?

    ReplyDelete
  117. I always liked it when Punk would make a point to say WRESTLING whenever he could, you could tell he was doing it just to be a prick.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I, much like the WWE creative team, have no idea.

    ReplyDelete
  119. He cursed all the descendants of Noah's son Ham because he walked in on Noah when he was naked and passed out drunk.

Coincidentally, according to bible anthropology, the descendants of Ham just happen to be African gentlemen.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Uncrusimatic_Buck_NastyJuly 29, 2014 at 6:36 PM

    of course

he was a great wrestler AND a good guy

it's easy to see why kelly would fancy him

    ReplyDelete
  121. Yes! Yes! Yes!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Something like that. If Vince doesn't think you're committed for life there is no need pushing you.

    ReplyDelete
  123. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:36 PM

I've grown quite sick of Jay Z and Beyoncé

    ReplyDelete
  124. I can get with Titus and Slater doing the Mismatched Tag Team That Doesn't Get Along thing.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Trish was what I was referring to... but last night wasn't bad

    ReplyDelete
  126. Wonder what the drug was for him?

    ReplyDelete
  127. But why would Titus tag with him. It's not like he's being forced to

    ReplyDelete
  128. Why break up the team Titus was already in? This company makes me angry sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  129. There are people who didn't find Trish barking on all fours hot? They're weird.

    ReplyDelete
  130. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:38 PM

Where do you work? It can't be in the United States.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Uncrusimatic_Buck_NastyJuly 29, 2014 at 6:38 PM

come on, preppie, don't be hatin' on slater just b/c he's competition

what would your old teacher miss bliss think? maybe you need to head to the max for some neat magic tricks

    ReplyDelete
  132. I found it sexist and demeaning. Matter of fact, I find this whole conversation to be beneath any....hahahahah can't get through it.

    ReplyDelete
  133. A lot of people around here bitch about how offensive and not at all hot it was.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Mister_E_KindaBuzzedAllBecauseJuly 29, 2014 at 6:39 PM

    Canada. American company though.

Actually, we're based elsewhere for tax reasons. Used to be Bermuda, now maybe Ireland, I'm not sure. The leadership is American though.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Are you my boss....? He's been having a lot of lunch/breakfast meetings this week, too.

Shit... maybe I should stop talking shit about work.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Hey, we don't judge in the BoD.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Because I'm a nerd, I've plugged in my old PS2 to play Smackdown: HCTP. Such an awesome game that got so many things right, even if season mode seems a bit repetitive (plus God help you if you want to be a heel; every storyline you're in has you overcoming odds). I know THQ going under meant a new direction for their games, but it's a wonder how they've fallen off so much.

    ReplyDelete
  138. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:40 PM

That surprises me then. In the States it's work work work work work...work

    ReplyDelete
  139. "The leadership is American though."

Just like everything else in the world!

  142. Our workforce shrinks and our productivity goes up because they want us to die

    ReplyDelete
  143. One more day to go... but yes I can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  144. To some extent you would be forced to tag with someone if that's how the bookers book you (in kayfabe world). You don't have to name your team and get matching outfits, though. That's when you're owning it.

    ReplyDelete
  145. That's the joke.

    ReplyDelete
  146. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 6:41 PM

    I envy you.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I feel like they wanted to push Darren as a solo face, but changed their minds after the breakup.

  148. Is del rio the most forgettable 4+ world champ?

    ReplyDelete
  149. Uncrusimatic_Buck_NastyJuly 29, 2014 at 6:42 PM

i like that game b/c you could actually tyurn face or heel when the opportunity presented itself. it would even be reflected in your stats

    ReplyDelete
  150. The only thing I hate about this game is the balancing of characters. If you pick Eddie and try to beat Brock It will take 20 minutes since he's overpowered.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Meh I put my time but thanks.

Thursday is my birthday and I literally have no one to hang out with, not even my family... so I think I will see if I can get some sympathy sex out of the new girl or someone else.
