  2. Hogan cuts a heel promo and is a babyface again by the end of the month. Post modern culture at its finest.

    Much appreciated.

  4. Gotta be tough Watching WCW 99.

  5. This felt like such a step down for Benoit.

2002 and 2003 were populated with IC title reigns by people who should have been above that level: Benoit, Jericho, Booker T, RVD (arguably)...

  6. The WWE/Scooby Doo movie is on Cartoon Network right now and it's... pretty bad,

  8. It became pretty boring about midway through.

So sent my matches for the week to Bayless. Hopefully we'll have....

Archie Stackhouse vs Prince of Nigeria (BoD Management GUARANTEES that the Nigerian prince WILL NOT BE BAIT AND SWITCHED DUE TO LEGAL REASONS for Danimal Crossing. HONEST.)
    Nebb/Nick the Brick/Cooltrainer Bret v Bill Ray/Rock Star Gary/Garth Holmberg

DBSM v Night in Match 2 of a Best of 5 (DBSM leads 1-0)

Plus possible appearances from Cultstatus, Fuj, Mar "I buried Baker" Solo, and B+ titleholder Hartkiller. Also possibly the Vinson/Petuka weigh-in for the boxing match in Vegas.

This will overload blog servers worldwide, folks.

  10. Anyone care to watch something on the network as a group at 8p Eastern? The next thing on my watch list is 1994 Fall Brawl, but I'm open to suggestions. Also considering indulging in vodka smoothies.

  11. Um...I recognize your words as English, I think, but I do not understand most of them.

    Which is fine.

    :-)

  12. And, just like in real life, too much Kane.

  13. You know when something small is bothering you, I having that feeling now.

  14. Watching Fatal Four Way 2010. It's not just weird that Orton wrestled the main event with no wristbands/wrist tape, it's weird that it's so noticeable. The little things like that about a character are glaring when they're not there.

  15. Might watch some classic ROH stuff.

I'm going to be out of town for the next few weeks. Therefore, I did every Nitro and Thunder for the next three weeks plus Uncensored in the span of four days. I'll be off to a sanitarium for a few weeks instead of having some time off.

  17. I hate when former world champions who aren't on the way down go for/win secondary titles. Why is Sheamus US champ? He doesn't need it to be over and it could possibly help some wrestler further down the ladder. I know the US title doesn't mean jack shit these days but it still bugs me.

  18. That's a big problem with the roster these days. Too many failed (to varying extents and in different ways) projects have had former world title reigns, and now barely matter: Swagger, ADR, Sheamus, Miz, Ziggler.

  19. In 2002, the IC title was still a true secondary title with some meaning since there was only 1 world title. When they brought it back later in 2003, it was less than tat. And by 2008, a worthless JTTS belt.

  20. That entire Hogan face turn is WCW's official turning point IMO.

The idea that we were supposed to buy Flair as a worse human being than Hogan just because he's supposedly cold after his son turned on him (never mind that a week ago he left multiple msgs for david in serious tones and david ignores him) fucking blows my mind. Flair was supposedly worse than the same Hogan who turned his son against him, beat that human being with his thugs and left him in the middle of nowhere, also worse than the guy who treated the world heavyweight belt like a joke with the "fingerpoke of doom".

Besides its not like there was some semblence of a possibility that Hogan turning face had potential money written all over it, unlike his 2002 return. Who in the world felt Hogan turning face was best for business?

Hogan's real catchphrase in WCW should be, "FUCK LOGIC BROTHER, who cares if it makes sense as long as I'm on top".

It gets worse with the reasoning they'll kind of give for it.

  22. I dunno, when did Albert hold it?

    ReplyDelete
  23. From now on, the term "jack shit" shall be known as "Swagger shit."

    ReplyDelete
  24. Never happened. Likely a pot induced hallucination by RVD.

    ReplyDelete
  25. whatever happened to that Benoit guy?

    ReplyDelete
  26. One of the rare times the Raw match was better than the PPV match but the PPV match was still really good. No idea why they didn't have Benoit or RVD defend their world titles against each other later.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think the rule should be that if you've held a world title you're ineligible for contention for the IC or US title.
