Mookie predicts 750K

Reasoning sounds good to me.  Although if they do announce 750,000 tomorrow, there's gonna be way more than 10% of the office staff fired, I'd bet.  If they were anywhere near 1,000,000 they would have already been shouting it from the rooftops instead of practically going on TV and begging people to subscribe.

On the other hand, at least they're not TNA.

  1. If Titan Tower gets hit by a giant meteor tomorrow, and every McMahon and major company official perishes in the fiery explosion, does TNA have a chance as the new #1 wrestling company?

  2. What's taking them so long in launching it outside of the US? Wouldn't that bring in a bunch more cash?

  3. They don't want to launch in England since they know how huge TNA is there.

    Mookie? Mookie Wilson?

Is he going to hit a groundball between Vince's legs?

  5. What are the odds WWE begins advertising discounted Network subscriptions with Live Event tickets? For instance, when you buy a ticket to a house show, you have the option to purchase 6 months of the Network for an extra 30 bucks? They figure when you have your wallet out, you're more inclined to spend some more money.

New Japan is the #1 wrestling company. They're the only one that will make money in 2013 and 2014.

  7. I think it has something to do with existing TV contracts in those countries. But I'm not entirely sure.

  8. ROH would be #1 in America. They at least have TV.

  9. I still like an aggressive partnership with a device maker is key. Make it easy to subscribe to the Network by selling a Roku with your network subscrption program in for you.

  11. I'm talking about America, the only country that matters.

  12. That's not a bad idea. I'd certainly be inclined to subscribe for six more months and pay all six up front for a free Roku.

  13. NJPW absolutely makes more money in America than TNA if just by virtue of not losing any.

  14. I could absolutely see that number being correct. However, that poll had roughly a third of those responding picking less than 700,000. While possible, if that's the amount now, they're absolutely beyond fucked, because they were already almost at 700,000 months ago, and people are currently not able to cancel. If this were September 1st and you told me less than 700,000, okay, I could buy that as a possibility with some people not renewing, but if they haven't managed to even get to 700,000 (barely 30,000 more than what they had right after Wrestlemania) after months, then the potential US growth over that number must be virtually zero without some kind of massive changes.

That's not to say I'm expecting huge numbers, I'm not. I think 750,000 to 850,000 sounds about right, but under 700,000 seems way too low based on the inability to cancel and WWE already having almost 700,000 months ago.

  15. Nah, man, it's Mookie Blaylock. He's going to bounce pass to Vince and then go jam with Pearl Jam.
