Speaking of Sting

Now THIS is what I'm looking for in a DVD set these days.  A whole bunch of rare TV matches and dream matches like Luger & Sting v. Hogan & Savage and Sting & Warrior v. Bret & Hogan that may not be any good but have the "Wow, when did THAT happen?" factor.  Not to mention Sting/Muta matches I haven't seen and even a Sting/Vader I haven't seen!

Well deserved slow clap for this one.

Comments

  1. If there was a 2 hour doc included, I could live with the match selection. As it is, this is a DVD you watch once and never again.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I never knew that Luger/Sting vs Hogan/Savage match ever happened. It was probably two and a half years later than it should have happened.

I'll be over this even as someone who never was super high on Sting. Even with the network, I'll still be nabbing good wrestler sets for the times Im in the mood to watch a bunch of one dude's matches. Docs I can take or leave; some are great (Punk) but I mostly just want a disc of matches I can hit auto-play and chill to non stop wrasslin

    ReplyDelete
  4. Looks like a great DVD. Still a dream that all these matches end up on the Network soon.

    ReplyDelete
  5. There's a whole bunch of stuff on this DVD that I think would be a lot of fun. Hopefully it gets uploaded to Netflix. I doubt I would actually pay for it...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Enjoy.

the SMS of his sister also. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  9. It featured the Reviving Legdrop.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I hope there's more than just matches, I'd love to see a good documentary on Sting. A good DVD is the only thing enticing to me about Sting finally joining WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I like that with this set you can pretend his career ended in 2001.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I don't need a DVD set to do that!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I know there's no documentary but are there interviews with Sting on this? Maybe between matches like on Warrior's DVD?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Good call. Cena was terrific in that segment too.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Nattie critiquing matches is insane. And why am I watching Total Divas. BLARG.

It's the episode where the Funkadactyls fight and break up and make up. So I mean I guess a teaser for whatever really happened in Season 3.

Namoi is such the better worker.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think it just like the Savage DVD, a host talks about Sting between matches.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That will definitely come later. There will be a 2 hour doc with all his famous matches.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Fuck all that shit, Anderson Silva vs Nate Diaz on Super Bowl weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  19. "Not a bad chunk of black tar heroin."

And with that, it's time for Impact!

    ReplyDelete
  20. On the greatest channel ever, Spike!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Let's get ready to cross the line.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Man, I wish the Dudleyz would come back to WWE. They were a fun tag team.

    ReplyDelete
  23. "COPS" reruns result in some excellent jarring comments when your viewing experience begins, it truly does.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Considering how both guys want the fight, I'll be shocked if it doesn't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Continuing my metal marathon, this time is Megadeth's Killing is my business.

  26. Was, was Dixie wearing a beard there?

I would still fuck Dixie Carter but her expiration date is fast approaching.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't know, dude. That was not just a regular old broken leg. That was disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Indeed Cult indeed.

    Yeah....well....you're a stupid comment!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Disgusting. I think you would only do that for her money.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah at Sacrifice.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Man...TNA's solution to the lack of energy is to be early 90s Raw. Can't say it's illogical.

Why is Dixie still a top heel?

    ReplyDelete
  35. She's a GILF for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  36. They should go back to the no-lyrics version of Roode's theme.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Don't try to defend that match, because it was DUD.

    ReplyDelete
  38. If that was a sneak attack, that looked kind of awesome for Dixie standards.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ref bump gave it 1/2*

    ReplyDelete
  40. At least with MVP they were smart enough to knock off the WWE theme

    ReplyDelete
  41. Because the bookers never got out of the Attitude era in their heads.

    ReplyDelete
  42. No kid, she's hot.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, that was one of the things that got him over, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anyone have any details on that 8-man tag (Sting & Co. v. The Dangerous Alliance)? Also that Sting/Vader matches is a 6 minute bout so I'm not sure how much excitement they can back into that short a time. OTOH, for every feud there is a beginning, and this match seems to be it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontJuly 24, 2014 at 7:04 PM

So, why is Samoa Joe still with this company? They do so little with him. I'm sure he could make more money doing the indys and Japan.

    ReplyDelete
  46. There's another wrestling show on Thursday night.

    ReplyDelete
  47. His own fault. He keeps re-signing lol

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well there's a payoff coming if that helps.

    ReplyDelete
  49. He's should take a shot in the dark and tryout for WWE, I don't care if he's in NXT limbo.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Have any of you guys ever been to a TNA event? I can't decide whether it seems fun or sad.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Better be there, he's no longer the Joe I became a fan.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I went to Bound for Glory IV in 2008. It was honestly a really fun time.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I want to go to one one day.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontJuly 24, 2014 at 7:06 PM

Nah, she still got some looks to her and I get the feeling she would be a wildcat in the sack. Having said that, I do think she only has a few good years left.

    Welcome to the BOD!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Wasn't their the beginning of the MEM?

    ReplyDelete
  58. When did Roode get the Vitor Belfort mohawk?

    ReplyDelete
  59. No, never. I'd want to go to one of those baseball stadium ones, just for the surreality of the visuals.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I get the feeling it would be kinda both.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Why does NXT even have tag team champions? The Ascension is so far and away ready for the main roster but what happens when they get there? They get split up in six months?

    ReplyDelete
  62. The one they had a year later looked like the better one.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Month ago.

    ReplyDelete
  64. No. That was in Vegas on an live Impact. Sting beat Joe in the main event at BFG.

    ReplyDelete

I'm going to guess any women over 30 is icky to his 18 year old mind.

    ReplyDelete
  66. There was time when I considered driving to Florida to one of their ppvs.

    That time was 2006.

    ReplyDelete
  67. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 24, 2014 at 7:07 PM

    Where was it at ?

    ReplyDelete
  68. USOS WIN LOL

    ReplyDelete
  69. I kinda wish the NXT guys just stay there.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I went to Slammiversary 09 which is the typical empty huge arena TNA ppv and that came off bad but I went to Bound for Glory 06 and that was a great show. Depends on the size of the arena.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Nah, '08 was much better than '09's. 2008 had Jarrett/Angle, Joe/Sting, AJ/Booker/Christian, 4 way Monster's Ball for the tag titles..

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hoffman Estates, IL. "Chicago"

  73. Magoonie NOT Teddy BelmontJuly 24, 2014 at 7:08 PM

Never been even though I'm only a couple of hours away from Orlando, that should tell you what I think of TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  74. He should just be a trainer/measuring stick in NXT. Who cares if he ever makes it to the main roster. I would love to watchi him having 20 minute matches with the next big things as they develop on NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I wanna go to PWG show.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The Vegas one also introduced the Legend/Global/Television championship.

    ReplyDelete
  77. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 24, 2014 at 7:08 PM

Oh nice, so you've been a TNA guy for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  78. One I quote all the time, LOL

    ReplyDelete
  79. I have no idea why they never gave Angle a theme where the fans can sing "You Suck"

    ReplyDelete
  80. Well he *is* Brazilian, I would imagine the standards are pretty high down there.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Yep! That belt was gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Austin Aries makes his decision on whether or not to exercise "Option C."

    They're bringing in Brock Lesnar?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yeah since it's 5th weekly PPV. My buddy bought my ticket to BFG though. I was in like the 4th row behind Tenay and West.

    ReplyDelete
  84. More stuff from the guy not watching iMPACT: has anyone seen the commercials for Summerslam? They're taking an interesting promotional tactic: they're promoting Cena v. Brock as a "FIGHT" and like its a legitimate athletic contest both guys are training for.

Why was the last time they did that? Rock/Brock?

    ReplyDelete
  85. I think he stays there because it is not that much travel and it is steady income for him and his family. Can't blame him.

    ReplyDelete
  86. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 24, 2014 at 7:10 PM

That's awesome. Never have thought of going to an event, missed them when they came last year.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I've been to a Lancaster Championship Wrestling show that was probably drawing a better crowd than TNA did for their ppv.

    ReplyDelete
  88. She goes through a table? That's not a payoff....that's just more exposure to this non wrestling business woman that could be used to get wrestlers over with TV time. It'd be one thing if she performed like the McMahons but the only one she matches up to is Linda.

    ReplyDelete
  89. The Cena/Brock match with the really dumb finish.

    ReplyDelete
  90. This brawl was just an excuse for MVP to keep his shirt on.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Brawl for all.

    ReplyDelete
  92. His now part of the T-shit club.

    ReplyDelete
  93. They need to air a recap vid from their Extreme Rules match each week on RAW.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Sting beating Joe in 2008? And you wonder why people wonder why Joe sticks around?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Wow, so you've been a fan since the beginning. Fall 2007 for me.

    ReplyDelete
  96. "Shirt" is not the preferred nomenclature. "Throwback Sting costume," please.

    ReplyDelete
  97. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 24, 2014 at 7:11 PM

Bobby Roode is a guy that definitely has the WWE "look"

    ReplyDelete
  98. I could see them having good matches with the Wyatts and Usos but after that I'd be sick of them fast.

I'd rather WWE got Beer Money

    ReplyDelete
  99. I was trying not to spoil it, haha. But hey I'm the guy watching NXT not TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I saw Roode wrestle a dark match before a RAW back in like 2004 I think. I thought the guy was awesome. No idea why WWE passed on him.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I've been twice, once in Virginia for a PPV when Christian had been there for a short period of time and it was fun. A second time, to Impact in Tampa and it was boring. Neither time was it sad, though.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Again, another one I wouldn't mind seeing in NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  103. ...fugly, but still a better Sharpshooter than Rock's.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Ugh, it looks like Rocky taught Roode that Sharpshooter

    ReplyDelete
  105. Fuck Jeff Hardy I never have bought this guy as a top guy and Lashley is a total style mismatch for him. Jeff Hardy is a midcard performer shoved down our throats for a decade for his fay girl pop.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I'm actually watching the future start now.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Fat girls buy X-Large T-shirts, dawg.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Jeff Hardy is an insane man.

    ReplyDelete
  109. TNA always filled that void that WWE leaves. NJPW does the same for me now as well.

Nice. 2007 was a fun year for TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Not the CM Punk thread but my fave Punk moment was every time he kayfabe clowned this drug addict joke.

    ReplyDelete
  111. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 24, 2014 at 7:13 PM

Court Bauer was talking on his podcast how he was so against Lashley being brought up in 05 while he was on creative and felt he needed another year minimum in OVW. He was right.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Hollywood Dave agrees.

    ReplyDelete
  113. That's the only early Megadeth album I don't have in my CD collection. I actually saw them in concert this past Friday, and it was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  114. 2 extra bucks.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Yeah they had the double taping at Wolstein. I missed it as well. I don't think we missed much. There was a Gauntlet match but meh.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Nick Swisher is a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'd say he was on target there, yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  118. 2007 to 10 were my favorite years.

    ReplyDelete
  119. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 24, 2014 at 7:14 PM

Meh, I loved Jeff. Dude was over as fuck in 08 and 09.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Sting winning the title at BFG was like their Undertaker Mania Streak thing. Nash hit Joe with a bat, they were aligned at the time, which was supposed to be a huge "shock".

    ReplyDelete
  121. I watched the last uploaded SNME today, and it was the end of 89. At the end of the show Jesse promised, "A new decade of Saturday Night's Main Event, the 90s!" and I was thinking WHOA NOT SO FAST THERE BUB.

    ReplyDelete
  122. HEY BRO I PROVIDE CLUBHOUSE ENERGY BRO

    ReplyDelete
  123. Matt was the only one with any talent or charisma and he went off the rails.

It's hilarious that people accuse Foley of being a non wrestling stunt man after 15 years of this ass clown.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Summer Rae v. Charlotte HAPPENING NOW ON THE NETORK. The picture on the live stream is getting fuzzy so I'm not the only one watching.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Well, he plays for the Indians, so take that for what's it worth.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Roode should only do impact moves. No pun intended. He's not Miz level bad subs but it doesn't suit him.

    ReplyDelete
  127. 2005 was awesome as well. Any pairing of Joe/AJ/Daniels was the tits.

Hogan wrecked the company though in 2010 until I'd say now they are just finally finding their balance and heading back upwards.

    ReplyDelete
  128. NXT Divas belt on the line?

    ReplyDelete
  129. Matt was such the better worker.

Jeff just threw himself off high things.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I bet the Indians, take that for what it's worth.

    ReplyDelete
  131. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 24, 2014 at 7:16 PM

Lol. Did he even make it through all of 90?

    ReplyDelete
  132. I must say I love HD for the women's matches.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Eh, I don't watch enough TNA to have a huge opinion, but I like him.

    ReplyDelete
  134. "I bet the Indians," the words that preceded countless benders.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Stream is VERY fuzzy. MY EYES!

    ReplyDelete
  136. I only have 4G at the hotel so TNA for me

Charlotte is way more ready than any WWE girl but AJ or Natalya. Why is she still down in Orlando?

    ReplyDelete
  137. Why the fuck aren't they calling her Charlotte Flair? That's dumb.

    ReplyDelete
  138. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 24, 2014 at 7:17 PM

He's probably one of the five worst regulars in the majors right now.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Watching his debut episode is so ironic.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Don't let me down, "Manhattan." God knows WGN's previous series "Salem" sure did, what a pile of dogshit.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Are they going to upload the SNME's and ME's from 1990-1992?

    ReplyDelete
  142. TJ: In case anyone cares - the Destiny Beta is available for everyone now. I'll be going as soon as it finishes downloading.

    ReplyDelete
  143. "I am an Indian" the words that preceded countless benders.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I don't get AL logic sometimes. Swisher comes up, man of first and second, no outs. He's a .200 hitter, why isn't he trying to bunt to move the runners over?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Why isn't EVERY Brock match promoted that way? He is getting UFC main event pay scale to do wrestling. Make that Anderson Silva money pay off.

Shale got a 2 year break from the NSAC today so expect him on Raw in Mania season.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Tapings at the Ballroom on the 5th-7th starring "New York's own Bully Ray!"

    ReplyDelete
  147. Charlotte clotheslines Summer and gets a two. Not only does she cover Summer again, but shouts at the ref and says, "GET BACK DOWN HERE." Fucking beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I went to their Thibodeaux house show last August, third row from ringside and right on the entranceway.

Pretty solid crowd (I'd say 500+, in a sub-1000 capacity auditorium), and a perfectly acceptable house show card:

Hardy over Anderson, Storm/Gunner over Bad Influence in the most entertaining match of the night, Gail Kim over ODB, Styles over D-Von in the botchiest match of the night (and Styles was the more responsible, sadly), and World Champion Chris Sabin over Bobby Roode.

-Would I go again? Maybe, depending on the card.

    ReplyDelete
  149. What's that supposed to mean? lol

    ReplyDelete
  150. Not nearly as bad as WGN's other big series, "Chicago Cubs Baseball"

    ReplyDelete
  151. Jesse didn't even make it through 1990!

    ReplyDelete
  152. Is the war games style match this week or next?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Dixie just promised Bully would be murdered by the end of the show. That's good.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Why is this show so rushed? Its 9:19 and we've had like six segments.

    ReplyDelete
  155. We're bad in everyone's eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Probably eventually. It took them three weeks between the first the first 13 and the second 13.

    ReplyDelete
  157. You must've missed Russo Misunderstands How E-Mails Work.

  167. Made the playoffs last year. 2 games out of the wildcard this year. Not exactly "bad". National media isn't beating up the Indians as much as they used to. The Browns are another story. ESPN had them ranked like 28th this year and some other media said they were 30th lol.

    ReplyDelete
  182. They should just use her real name with the Flair spelling when she is called up.

    ReplyDelete
  183. It wasn't even that. He typed "Mike" and sent it to Jenkinson instead of Tenay. So bascially he saw his autocomplete autocomplete and said, YIP, GOOD ENOUGH DON'T NEED TO MAKE SURE I'M NOT SPILLING COMPLANY SECRETS THAT MIGHT GET ME KICKED OFF A NETWORK.

And let's not forget how terrible it is for a guy like Mike Tenay TO BE TAKING ORDERS FROM THAT FUNCTIONAL RETARD VINCE RUSSO.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Matt should give Chris Hero some pointers.

    ReplyDelete
  185. I think they taped either five or six and this is only the second.
