These Two Friggin' Guys~!

From the PPV earlier today. A rematch of Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito, the IWGP World Title match at Wrestle Kingdom earlier this year (the world's biggest wrestling show not named Wrestlemania). The rematch here is even better, as they skip right past the feeling out process and Okada's already drop kicking bitches off the top rope 3 minutes in. The post match is an incredible moment as well, with the crowd losing their fucking minds as if Elvis was in his prime or something. When broads start crying because you've touched them, you're over. This was one for the ages, July 28th 2014~!
"The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada vs. "Stardust Genius" Tetsuya Naito (7/28/14)

  1. Anyone want to sign up next week to spin the Gimmick Wheel?

    About fucking time.

    ReplyDelete
  3. This show had plenty of hidden gems for lines. I'm expecting A+ stuff for Vegas. But it looks like we've lost some steam in the comments section over the last couple of weeks. Maybe we hold off on Vegas or take a couple weeks off afterward? I don't know.

Mar Solo's Journey to the Cup (of coffee) will never be forgotten. Standing O for that, most definitely.

    ReplyDelete
  4. The table not breaking seems to happen quite a bit with Orton. It also happened at MITB 11 when he tried the same with Christian. Then the crowd chanted "ONE MORE TIME" and he indulged them. Awesome moment, awesome match, awesome show.

  5. We can watch Stephanie McMahon get carted out by the cops over and over and over again on the Network.....in another three weeks when that Raw will be posted.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Details, my friend. It's all in the details.

    ReplyDelete
  7. His problem is he speaks five languages, and English isn't one of the first three or so. I can see why they wanted to give him Paul Heyman as his mouthpiece. They just need to have him keep working at it. Sometimes, shit takes some time... and we live in very impatient times

    ReplyDelete
  8. "Or just get that Petuka guy out of the main event."

    Shut up.

It's just a gimmick now to draw interest. The couple who write here are going to post a co-written domestic at some point just to draw eyeballs.

  19. If I am being honest I lost interest in general after BoD Mania... Farva was the only one I liked to fuck around with on it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. (Filmed some time after Petuka's promo, from somewhere unknown.)

"I haven't said much the last couple weeks, since that little fireball/mist exchange between Vinson and myself. Mostly because Petuka's gotten the deserved promo time as he gets ready to make the Express' name and reputation grow even more next week in Vegas. Partly because I've been healing up this damn burn from the fireball. And partly because I wasn't sure what comes next.

But now I know. Next week, the Express make a FULL impact, not only on you, Vinson, but on anyone associating with you, anyone backing you up, hell, anyone you care about. Next week, someone on your side leaves the arena on a stretcher. And the worst part? I don't care who I take out. See you in Vegas.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Also, its been two years and he hasnt found his voice. Not saying that it will never happen but like you said, it is an impatient time we live in.

Vince strikes me as a guy that would chuckle at a huge fart.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Apparently he hates when people sneeze.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It's like when they hired Del Rio. He hardly spoke ANY English at all. Today he's fluent, and can cut a decent promo. But it's too late. Basically, they expect people to learn English over night, and it doesn't work that way.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I thought you'd like Cesaro-Cena more. The work before the commercial was rather elementary. But they turned it up a notch after that. I liked how they played off spots from their past match and used twist spots where a match usually ends in a different direction that extended the action.

    Good review, though, as usual.

    ReplyDelete
  31. "Marvelous" Matt Perri and Miss Danielle coming soon to BoD RAW!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think they are doing that now with the Performance Center.

    Those two went through FCW

  33. Its been reported by many people.

He gets pissed when people sneeze in front of him.

  34. Spring for some Hulu.

You really can't expect them to put Raw and Smackdown on the Network, that would KILL their TV deals.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks.

The commercial break was at a horrible time and I thought the beginning was really rocky but everything else was good and the finish was great.

    ReplyDelete
  40. That was a legendary show. There have been a few that have come within the same ballpark as that show though.

    ReplyDelete
  41. BUT WAIT, I thought it was a concrete and absolute fact that Cesaro was not allowed to do the Giant Swing anymore!! THE INTERNETZ LIED TO ME!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I know. I don't even know why they put them up in the first place, really. It's both too late and soon to want to watch a Raw from a month ago.

    ReplyDelete
  43. After Vegas, nothing until BoD SummerSlam.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Vince sees it as a lack of control, which he DESPISES.

"Sign of weakness" was the company line I heard, same shit.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Websites have been turning Meltzer's speculations as facts. He said in a podcast that the reason Cesaro might not being doing the Giant Swing is because it's a face-popping maneuver. He never reported that, and websites have been just twisting his words to garner hits.

  50. It's fucking killing me. Last night was easier than Night 4, which was a war of attrition between me and consciousness. Last night I was up until 8am in the morning, woke up at 6pm today. This tournament is almost as hard on American fans as it is on the roster.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ah, I must have missed that show of his or just brushed it off as speculation. He makes it clear when he is speculating or stating a confirmed rumor.

I just said that it was a rumor, and nothing else. Looks like I was right. :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. In order to be depushed, you have to get pushed first. Other than the fluke MITB win, he has basically been a jobber his entire WWE stint, including most of his run with Cody.

    ReplyDelete
  57. In fairness, Cesaro hadn't done the Swing in a LONG time before he pulled it out again tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  58. He is being BO-Ried!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hey gang, missed the show. What segments do I need to see?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yeah it's one of the greatest PPV's ever. But I think a few have come within the same hemisphere of that show.

    Extreme Rules 2012(Punk/Jericho, Sheamus/Bryan, Brock/Cena all ****+)

TLC 2012 with Ziggler/Cena being ****+ and The Shield's debut being a MOTY.

Summerslam 2013 with the two amazing main events.

WrestleMania 30 with it's mix of great matches and moments.

However, Money in the Bank just had all that and so much more. The atmosphere, the excitement, and quality all over the card not just in the main events.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I agree with all of those picks, except TLC 2012, because I never saw all of it. Same hemisphere, but just a stitch below.

*Post RAW - The lights are dim in the Top 5 dressing room as i am getting a rub down by my valet after the weigh in. Wu-Tang Clan's - Can It Be All So Simple" plays through my custom Beats headphones*

When I was a youth I was told by a wise man about how light on the back porch works. I don't mean the simple mechanics of the light, I mean it's purpose..if the light truly serves its purpose it illuminates the porch for all to see. That is its singular focus: bringing light to overcome the darkness. The side effect of this that it attracts pests that want to bathe themselves in its light. It didn't mean to attract the vermin...they are just attracted to him.

    *Takes headphones off*

My singular focus is to be great...the best. I let nothing distract me from this. I watched the Legends get distracted and lose their places at the table of the greats: Flair, Michaels, Harts. Oh, they were good, even outstanding in their day, but they could have been so much more. They could have been great.

    They could have be ME.

    *Leaning forward*

Petuka, like that itch you get 3 days after sleeping with Lita, you just keep coming back. You are the pest that is attracted to the greatness that you saw before you. I'm not talking about the shine from my jewelry I'm talking about the aura that is a Top 5'er.

    *Stands up*

You know that you wish you were me. You and that cretinous cohort of yours kbjone think that the two of you can eclipse the shine of the light that is the greatness that stands before you, You spout lines from Rocky but just remember, at the end of it all he was broke, half-retarded and shared a shack with that loser Paulie. No matter how much they tried to reclaim their past glory all they had was each other, the memories of their brushes with greatness and the regret of how it all slipped away.

When this is done, you two losers will be back being nobodies in a rehab center reminiscing about how I pulled your spine out of your mouths and beat you with them. And as the nurse wipes the drool from your mouths she will say what i have always told you, "You shouldn't have *BEEP* with that man."

Remember: I am a defining chapter in the history BoD...and you two Jerry's Kids are not even footnotes.

*Sits down, puts headphones on and gets a happy ending from my valet*

    ReplyDelete
  82. Right at this very moment, I am going to beat Meltzer and pwinsider with my inside scoop. John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar will, at Summerslam have some of grudge-type match, most likely. It looks as though the Chris Jericho/Wyatts feud isn't over, could go past Summer straight into Night Of Champions, from what I hear. Expect the Usos to possibly be involved in this feud in a 6-man match.

I hate the * system, but I couldn't give Brock/Punk a perfect score when the selling was out of whack. Punk was way overpowered in that match. Really good match though, if you can get past that Punk should have been murdered and not lost because of outside interference.

  139. (White Coat is in the trainer's room, with Bill Ray getting bandaged)
Bill Ray:"Well, well. I attempted to get revenge this week, yes I did. I may not have been as successful as I wanted, but I did remember something: I REMEMBERED PAIN! I REMEMBERED THE WAY IT FEELS TO BLEED! And next week, I want Bret to remember this! Next week, I want me! And Bret! No disqualifications, no count outs, weapons are legal! I will show you pain, Bret! I will help you remember what it is to feel fear! And when it's all said and done, Rockstar Gary will...be...avenged! FEEL THE POWER!
(Bill punches himself in the forehead, busting himself open, as the camera cuts out)

  140. Yeah; pretty awesome to be in the main event on my first BOD RAW match.

    CUPPA COFFEE, YEAH!

  141. I have a feud! Yes! Great promo, as per the norm.

  142. The Vanilla Ice promo was my favorite, but all of these are good.

  143. And the Sleeper is still a match ending move.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Well it did close out Starrcade 96.

  145. But nothing is more deadly than a Laaaariaaaatooooo!

    ReplyDelete
  146. I hate how people use the Sleeper as a rest hold, you choking the guy out.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I heartily endorse this version of the sleeper: https://twitter.com/SenorLARIATO/status/493712392690597889

  148. Finally back into Disqus! What a pain. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you Dock for continuing to point out the best matches (with links) from the G1. I love this stuff but just don't have the time to watch it all... appreciate you making it easy to see the best stuff.

  149. And he also liked his own first comment ever, too.

  150. I tried to tell your mom about that but it's her favorite song. What can I say?

  151. And TNA put him in a mask to be the sidekick to Joe's Green Hornet.

    I mean, holy shit.

  152. That's not a far cry away from the "sleeper" Homer Simpson frequently applies to Bart.

    ReplyDelete
  153. And while we're at it, let's give it up for The Oringinal Bonski! That guy is on top of things.

  154. I kind of understand the Lariat being a go-to match ender. It's over in Japan the way the Stunner or DDT would be in America -- always worth a near fall no matter who does it.

Kicking out of the Tombstone, though? When that move is more or less grounds for murder charges in Mexico? Me no likey.

  155. I've always been a big fan of Andy's as well. The thoroughness of his recaps reminds me of CRZ's recaps, which I was also a big fan of.

  157. Uhm, if you have internet access, you should easily be able to find Raw before Saturday...

We'll see about next week for that match. Bayless handles the booking though, I'm more like the road agent that has some degree of clout.

And yay, this episode broke 1.0 commentrate!

  159. I got no problem putting you over, brother; I'm just having fun with the character that cuts Mick Foley-esque promos.

  160. Backslides! My only weakness! How did you know?
