  1. Guys I'm starting to think everything may not be fine.

I haven't been this excited for breaking news since the days of RNN

  3. WWE will release it's numbers Thursday morning. As for TNA, Impact does draw a genuinely decent number, i wouldn't be surprised to see them on Fox Sports 1 or 2 by the end of the year or very early next year.

I would be; FS is trying to be a legit competitor to ESPN, and pro wrestling would not aid that in the least.

  5. Dave already shot down the FS1 idea. Not happening.

  7. Up here in the hinterland WWE airs on Sportsnet 360 which is basically a Fox Sports 2 type channel compared to our TSN.

But i guess it depends on the opinions of the guys in charge whether they would want wrassling on their station. Out of curiousity what airs on Fox Sports 2 on thursday nights?

Usually UFC reruns of events or TUF fills the nightly programming, but as they're trying to establish credibility as a legit national sports network while their licensing deals come into place, I think the stigma of wrestling is not something they're going to willingly add while trying to gain a foothold in the market.

  9. Simple question: why?

You're excited that people are out of work? You're excited that a show that you've zero obligation to watch isn't on any more? You're excited that a company that has caused you literally zero personal harm is going out of business.

Wow, dude. I've never understood the IWC hatred of TNA -- I'm not saying their shows or storylines or whatever -- those frustrate the hell out of me. But they frustrate me because I want an alternative to the shit WWE puts out, and they haven't met that potential, despite having all the tools to do so.

But the IWC hatred is ridiculous, from SK's first idiotic comments back when they first came out, predicting every week they'd be out of business, to crap like this moron's post. People don't seem to WANT them to succeed, which is stupid.

Don't worry though, man, John Cena will still be alright whether TNA exists or not. So you'll still have your jerk-off material.

  10. Umm...He's probably excited because this is a big news story and no one knows how it's going to work out.

  11. At this point why would anyone want them to succeed? The past 12 years have taught us a few things--mainly that they have a history of making the same crippling mistakes repeatedly while refusing to actually strive to be an alternative. They WANT to be the #1 wrestling company rather than wanting to be a profitable wrestling company.

Why root for them when you can root for any number of other wrestling promotions?

  12. I'll give them some credit -- despite all the dumb moves (especially in the last few years), they did contribute some classics to wrestling history too. Particularly those AMW / Triple X matches, which were fantastic -- plus all of the great work from AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Joe and even Angle (who unlike Hogan actually put himself behind the brand when he wasn't being crazy). How awesome was the whole concept of LAX too? The hot button immigration issue, the cool militant entrance video and a separate entrance too. They made the best of what they had with Sting and Scott Steiner as well. Going head to head with the WWE was on Monday's was probably a terrible idea -- but hey, at least they gave it a shot.

I'm sad to see it go -- not because it was a great promotion (not that promotions really need to be great to be successful) but because it had a lot of potential and the wrestling world is going to get a little bit smaller .

  13. Jeff Hardy could still be huge in WWE, especially with Punk gone and Bryan out indefinitely. Matt Hardy, I doubt it. Bubba Ray could do some great stuff in WWE with his current heel character, but I don't think HHH likes him so he probably won't be back. I could see Angle coming in for a HOF induction/retirement tour. I still think there's money to be made from Beer Money, together or separately, in WWE, even though their age probably precludes them. Everyone else though, unless I'm missing someone, would seem to have already been rejected by WWE or have beef with people there, or be too green to be worth anything to them. I see this as a dark time for the business, because, unlike in 1996, there is really no where else for all of these wrestlers to go, and, unlike in 2001 when there was no where else to go, the business isn't exactly hot right now, and I don't see any viable second promotion rising in the near future.

  14. I want them to succeed, because I want an alternative to WWE. I want that wrestler can leave WWE and still be on TV so that we can watch them develop instead of going to the indies or japan where nobody can see them (besides youtube or some DVDs). I want wrestler to come to the WWE which I know and which weren't in WWE development before. The best thing of the monday night war was the trading of wrestlers between the WCW and WWF. The roster of both companies was shuffled every month and it was always fresh and you had always new feuds.

I want another wrestling company to make the attempt to compete with WWE, because monopoly is always bad for everyone. And it will not be cheap - but it never was. If you want to be No1 you have to invest.

  15. I think Angle could still have some good matches with Swagger, Bryan, Lesnar, Rollins and Cesaro.

Or Vince could buy TNA and let them run as kind of NXT with separate PPVs and everything.

I feel bad for any talent that might see a decline in income or anyone backstage that had a comfortable job. But Scotts article reminds me how they have done dumb shit time and time...and time again.

  17. Monopoly money? Oh, wait... that's just Canadian.

  18. We need to let this play out and see where it goes?

  19. Psh. Whaaaaat? That's crazy. You're crazy. That's crazy talk. Stop talking crazy.

  20. So, if I'm understanding all of this, Dixie had to do one thing: not hire Vince Russo. And she went out of her way to give him the book? Why would you do that? If your company relies on someone to survive, and they say to blacklist someone, you blacklist them! You don't give them a secret job! Jesus, what kind of pictures did VinnieRu have of Dixie? You know what, no one answer that question. I don't wanna know that bad.

This sucks, because there are a bunch of guys on TNA I like that I doubt WWE will pick up. They SHOULD, but VKM seems to be having his own share of issues. This week should be interesting.

  21. Wait, "his wife Judy"? I thought Judy Bagwell was his MOTHER? Did he marry a chick with the same name as his mother? Talk about Oedipal...
