Reason For Dolph Ziggler Beating Randy Orton at a House Show This Past Weekend

This past Saturday night in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Ziggler defeated Orton when he escaped from a RKO attempt and hit the Zig Zag for the win. The reason this occured was that the originally advertised match was for Orton to face Roman Reigns but since Reigns was overseas on the Australia tour, Ziggler replaced him and the WWE rule of thumb is that the face goes over in the main event and when there is a substitution for the top face on the show, the rule is even stronger. This was not a sign that Orton is being punished.

  1. Man, looking back on Summerslam 2011, having Del Rio cash in on Punk was such a dumb fucking move, with or without Nash interfering. And not just b/c he got fired. With enough perspective you realize that Ryder ain't the only one who got punished for getting over on his own. Matt Hardy losing to Edge in 4 minutes at SS '05 is another example.

  2. Or I could continue to hope for change much as with any product I'm not wholly satisfied with. Eg Bring back Mtn Dew Distortion! In the mean time you're crazy to suggest I don't get what I can out of the product until then.

  3. Why? A fresh new look could attract lapsed fans interested to see what else is new. And they have proven themselves willing to spend money on very similar ideas such as new logos and new belts.

  4. The sets are a massive part of their product, we see more of the sets than the wrestlers. They have been changing up their logo, their belts - they themselves are freshening up other aspects of their visual style.

It's you IWC smart mark types who think you know better, telling them they don't need to be making the changes that they are, who are what is wrong with this business. Who are you to tell them not to make brave gambles like the Network? They are also allegedly moving Smackdown to Thursday nights.

You might not like these changes, but who are you to criticise them? I'm talking about changes, they are making changes, you're they're all "Wahhh, for the last 10 years it's been a 10/10, don't go changing I now!!"

Well they are changing things, and they are obviously self-critical and I'm on their side on being critical and welcoming change

I see you brought up the topic of ROH in your post. Goddamn internet smart marks like you always do.

  6. SARCASM defeats TROLL! TROLL LOSES!

  7. There's a huge difference between "highlighting" someone and "pretending they don't exist". It's been seven years now, the heat has pretty much cooled off on WWE now.

  8. This. And it's not like there isn't a place (for just $9.99!) where you can see the PPVs intact (for just $9.99!), including his matches (for just $9.99!)

  9. And that wasn't the beginning of that for Hardy...see also: how his V1 character got its legs cut off by the time 2003 was just beginning. Gotta get A-Train over, AGAIN, after all...

  10. Of all of Bret's classics and big matches at Summerslam the one that gets the most time in this video is against a dentist.

  11. I honestly didn't even notice Benoit being missing until I read this post.

  12. Yea how was it not Edge beaten half to death and losing due to blood-loss? Sure Hardy won that cage match the next month, but just makes zero sense

  13. It is highlighting someone. He's a child murderer and it's not something they want to remind people about, it could make people uncomfortable or open up a whole a can of worms.

    Smart move by WWE.

  14. At least it was when Kane was talented.

  15. Cage match meant nothing in the long run. Hardly jobbed to Edge to be thrown on Smackdown shortly after.

  16. Good point! I really need to think this over.
