  1. Heh. So they are doing the "Where is Cactus Jack??" WCW angle with Ambrose?

  2. It also looks like the network doesn't work on Chrome any more. It keeps redirecting back to the same idiotic page over and over.

If it ends the same way, the company should be CTRL+ALT+DEL from existence.

Ambrose is already jacked up crazy, so if they turn this into an recurrent angle where he's unpredictable in his showing up and assaulting Rollins, Kane, et. al. then it could really get him over more. The second they do an amnesia angle, I'm checking out.

  8. Heh, Brian Fritz. I think i used to call into his radio show when i was like 15, iif its the same dude.

I would be all for Ambrose doing random run ins while he's out doing the movie and creating anarchy like loose cannon era Brian Pillman. Although it robs the world of awesome Ambroseness every week.

    ReplyDelete
  9. If anyone could fix a girl's bike and cut a decent promo about it... it would be Ambrose.

  10. My subscription ended 2 weeks ago because I was using a debit card that got compromised that I had to cancel. I've been in no hurry to get another subscription and one of the reasons is exactly what you guys said.

The network worked great initially on Chrome and then about 2 months back started crashing all the time. So frustrating. So I see that nothing has changed and now it's affecting IE too? How could the WWE have such shitty customer service for something that should be a huge game changer? I don't even really miss having it right now and I was watching pretty much every night.

Are you guys noticing any additional lags after the initial rollout last week?

    ReplyDelete
  11. ThatAmbroseFanboyGuyAugust 19, 2014 at 9:39 AM

He's obviously out to film whatever shitty movie the company HAS to make, hence the angle. But aside from that, I can't help but have a bit of nerves that they're going to fuck up his return. This time last year, Kane was abducted by the Wyatts, and he came back nonsensically as a member of the Authority with a sudden, inexplicable hatred for his former tag team partner. It's not outside of the realm of possibility that they'd do something equally retarded with Ambrose if they fear him eclipsing their golden goose, Roman Reigns in order to cool him off.

    ReplyDelete
  12. "They can’t add the search function or a proper timeline with chapter breaks or a decent schedule for adding shows, but you damn well know that they make sure to update the Network app with the new logo plastered everywhere on it the day after it debuts"

Dude, you took Comp Sci. I'd think you'd know that the latter is *WAY* easier than the former.

  16. Summerslam was a mess to watch. The stream would freeze every 5 minutes or so or the quality would go bad then good then bad then good then freeze again. I think that is the first show that it has been really bad for me, but then again I've only watched like two of the PPVs live. Shockwave crashes literally every ten minutes and now I can't even access the library at all.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Watched on PS3 and it kept lagging and then moving really fast to catch up.

  18. Different Cuban Assassin.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Lex was supposed to main-event "WM10", Orton was supposed to main-event "WM21", Batista was supposed to main-event "WM30"... I wouldn't be surprised if we see the same thing happen next year.

Reigns is obviously the guy they are (or were) banking on, but he's clearly not ready for it yet, while Ambrose is outclassing him every week.

The more I think about it, the more I want to see Brock/Ambrose at "WM31". Not only does it fit perfectly with the existing Ambrose/"Authority" angle (as Brock is basically Trips' hired gun), but there's a hell of an in-ring story to be told: as I said yesterday, you can't beat Brock with power, you can't beat Brock with technique, but you might be able to beat Brock with crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Let's get this straight. Company desperately needs subscriptions so they proceed to put their World title on a guy that may only show up once a week or less on RAW, their hottest face star (Ambrose) leaves to go make a money that won't earn any profit, Reigns is getting no reaction from crowds, and now Vince is trying to bring The Rock back for Mania again.

    ReplyDelete
  21. No but I was doing my best Baker impression! Although I did forget to mention rape dammit!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Also missing: Network subscribers.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Bringing Rock back is good.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I've seen enough of Rock.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Imagine the Ambrose/Heyman promos leading up to a Brock match at WM.

    ReplyDelete
  26. But you're suspending belief that Bryan could beat Evolution. No suspension is needed.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Bringing Rock for a special WM appearance is fine... But him beating Brock would be idiotic.

"Have a part timer destroy your entire roster, including ending the WM streak, and dominating Cena.... And them have him get conquered by ANOTHER part timer, who will leave immediately after". Hope they don't do that.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If the Rock comes back, it'll drive subscriptions and revenues way up. (I don't see the Rock wrestling again, but that would be the result).

"Reigns is getting no crowd reaction" is the hot, new smarky thing to keep saying in the hopes that it becomes true.

Ambrose gets great reactions, but he is not their hottest face and his ability to draw has never been tested.

    Lesnar... We'll see.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Exactly what I am afraid of. I like the title on Brock, but he needs to lose it to a guy that will be made a huge star in the end. Reigns? Fine. Bryan? Fine. Rock or Cena? Ugh. That would do literally nothing to help anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Reigns was booed last night during RAW for a bit and at Summerslam.

It's not a smarky thing to keep saying. I've said it from the get go that Reigns is the third best of the Shield. The guy SCREAMS Diesel.

    ReplyDelete
  31. To play devils advocate, there have been plenty of guys who were in shape and had a lineage who never did anything in the business.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Diesel wouldn't be a terrible career arc for Reigns to take. Its not like Ambrose was driving people to subscribe while he was around.

    ReplyDelete
  33. He's one of their top faces. With him off TV they have Cena and Reigns left. Who else? Sheamus?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Besides Summerslam has anything new been added this week?

    ReplyDelete
  35. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighAugust 19, 2014 at 9:49 AM

Crowd would go ballistic when Cesaro squeezes out of the kimura and gets him ready for the SWING!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh, no, he was booed a bit. That ruined the careers of John Cena, Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton, all of whom now enter arenas to deafening silence.

Is the the third "best" of the Shield? Maybe. That means nothing in terms of his ability to be "the guy." John Cena was the third best of his recurring Smackdown team of him, Rey and Edge during his first solo run.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, let's not go nuts. They will be great, but Ambrose is not in Heyman's league. Yet.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ziggler is gaining some steam again. Swagger is as well.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The Road to Summerslam doc with the Shield, right?

    ReplyDelete
  40. He's filming a movie

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yea I was saying this yesterday you can't really define his character. He is big and cool looking...so Like Him! They need to figure something more out about his character and build off it instead of him just being Kahl Diesel.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Very interested in watching that Shield doc they promoted for Wednesday. I think those types of original programming, that you can't get anywhere else is the type of stuff that can help sell the Network.

    ReplyDelete
  43. No, but no one is. He's a big step up from Bryan in that department.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Batista was a very bad example to throw in there with those guys, given what just happened this past year. That pretty much undercuts your entire point.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The behind the scenes stuff I imagine will draw in people because it is rarely seen

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'd have him job constantly to roll-ups after different pay-per-view opponents' have ringside distractions. Then, I'd job him out 4 months from now to Kofi Kingston.

Oh...I'm sorry. I thought he won the Intercontinental Title.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Call me crazy, but as popular as Bryan is, I'm not convinced that he's the guy to carry the company into a glorious new age. To me, his big moment earlier this year was more of a "token" win out of appreciation for his hard work and talent, along the lines of Benoit at "WM20".

I mean, please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying that he didn't deserve the win or shouldn't have been given that spot, he absolutely should have, but I don't think it was meant to be long-term. I just mean that compared to Hogan, Austin, or Cena, who were obviously the guys that Vince was going to build the company around, I think expecting a multi-year run for Bryan as THE guy was unrealistic.

As for the original question posed, beating Brock at WM for the title is now a much bigger win and rub than just having the main guy win/retain at the big yearly event. It's not Cena, Orton, Batista, and Trips trading the belt a billion times to diminishing returns, this is a once-in-a-lifetime situation they find themselves in. It's almost as big as the Streak itself.

Vince is going to have to think long and hard about who gets the honor, and the goofy little guy that has recently been plagued by injuries and surgeries may not be the best bet.

    ReplyDelete
  48. They were in shape and had the lineage, but did they have the look of a mega star? Roman Reigns has all 3 of those things, but they mean nothing when he can't deliver on the mic and in the ring

    ReplyDelete
  49. Was Bret talking about the older guy and not Fidel/David Sierra?

    ReplyDelete
  50. We know Punk left - Punk doesn't want to come back -- but like Scott Hall in 2000 -- fans are so fickle. They really believe because AJbis married to Punk -- she has stroke and that if the WWE gave Punk 1985 Hulk Hogan money and total creative control that he would come back. Fans will keep chanting until WWE gives it too them and folks -- it ain't in their hands. As for CM Punk - stay retired and hang out with Nikita, Lex and Sting because the glory of Jesus Christ is more important than the WWE and wrestling. You are a straight shooter -- accept Christ and be saved and be a real straight shooter for the Kingdom.

  51. Perhaps......so I guess I did as well (though I wouldn't have the same love for John Wayne as JR did....seeing as though he was basically a racist)

    ReplyDelete
  52. The champ has to defend the title every 30 days but has 90 days to defend against the #1 contender. Defend against lesser names on the B shows and defend against big names on the A ppv's. When WM comes around then job him to whomever.

    ReplyDelete
  53. ...but whose side is he on?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jesse Ventura must have been in the wrong line of work then.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Again hire Luther Reigns to be his brother.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Lesnar is not a real part-timer -- he is a legit shooter than would probably be able to shoot on the entire roster because while Brock is finished as a legit shoot fighter - half of the roster never rolled on a BJJ mat in their lives.

    ReplyDelete
  57. To answer all the "who the hell is LT" comments popping up on here: he may the greatest football player who ever lived (not just the greatest defensive player). That doesn't mean he was the most famous or that he should have been in the main event of a Wrestlemania. Before rule changes neutered defensive players and made the quarterback (the most visible and important player to the casual fan) the most valuable player, LT was the best. Go look up his highlights on YouTube. He was in real life what pro wrestling pretends to be. You'd think every back he hit was Shawn Michaels or Curt Hennig selling for him.

So, in short, maybe LT the main event guy was a bad idea, but I can at least see the reasoning behind it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. If Bryan can go, they can do the David/Goliath thing. Cena is still most definitely an option. Reigns is definitely fading. Ambrose is rising. Never say never with a rising star. Not many people thought at WM29 that Daniel Bryan would go over Triple H and then Orton/Batista at WM30.

Overall, these are the problems that arise when a company drags its ass on creating new stars.

    ReplyDelete
  59. There's a huge difference. Gorilla and Vince would yell right back at Jesse and turn the whole thing into an argument. Cole is forced to just sit there and listen, and every time he tries to rebut, JBL just gets louder.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Bundy did job to HBK in May 1995 in a *** match.

    ReplyDelete
  61. If they didn't halt the Cesaro push like morons, he'd be the perfect foil for Super Brock.

After Brock beats The Streak, Heyman realizes Lesnar is destined for the title belt. He always realizes there's one man who may have the strength to match Lesnar - Cesaro. So Heyman takes Cesaro as his client while Brock has a clean path to the title. Then do the slow build where Cesaro realizes he's being duped ala Batista with Evolution.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Or the Sabu/Mysterio match from One Night Stand 2: Two Night Stand.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Brock destroys Cena at Night of Champions. He's breaking his arm in the arm lock after when 'Cult of personality' hits. CM punk hits the ring, save Cena, and he gets the title shot at Rumble after defeating HHH at Hell in the Cell for a chance. Then, at Rumble, CM punk fails, but D.Bryan wins the Rumble, getting the title shot at Wrestlemania. At Elimination Chamber, It's down to Brock, Punk and Cena last. Cena gets murdered again, and is being checked on by the ref, who misses Punk making Brock tap. Brock then beats Punk to leave with the title.

At Wrestlemania, you have Bryan vs Brock, and Punk Vs Cena ( Punk blaming Cena for Elimination Chamber), Bray Wyatt vs Sting, and HHH vs Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Austin won the title at Mania 14 and proceeded to put WWE business through the roof, and it was clear he was THE GUY who could make them the most money in main events.

Daniel Bryan won the title and immediately got hurt and hasn't been on TV since May. He never really proved his box office strength (not saying he doesn't have it, just saying he hasn't much to point to) and coming off of surgery (or, surgeries) his health is a major question mark.

There's almost no comparison between Austin post-Mania 14 and Bryan post Mania 30. You ride Austin at that point every year. With Bryan, I think it's very fair to look for someone else to build around.

    ReplyDelete
  65. HHH strips the title off Lesnar for not defending within 30 days, which is before NOC. A face turn, I guess, but Lesnar is already in the "shades of gray" tweener position which I'd keep him as, the beast who will kill whatever is in his path. Lesnar is infuriated and wants to kill. HHH puts him against one of his cronies, Kane, whatever. 5 minute squash at NOC. Then Lesnar can take off until Survivor Series where he kills HHH. Royal Rumble, whoever the top guy is at the time has the title and Lesnar finally gets his shot. Lesnar wins clean but in a more challenging battle than he's had in a year. Then whoever conquers Lesnar at Mania, and Brock probably doesn't want to work anymore by then.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Brock murders somebody at Night of Champions, doesn't wrestle at HITC, faces off with Big Dave at Survivor Series, doesn't wrestle at TLC, murders a fool at the Royal Rumble or enters himself in the Rumble and gets eliminated last by the guy he's going to face at Mania, again skips Elimination Chamber, drops the belt at Mania.

Every show he skips has a gimmick to draw viewers in regardless of whether or not he appears. You can put the emphasis on other feuds for those shows (Ambrose/Rollins, HHH/Reigns, etc.) so you don't waste dates needlessly on pointless title defenses. It will also make those times when Brock does wrestle seem more important because they're spread out. You get around the 30 day rule by using HHH's on-screen persona to say he's suspending/eliminating that rule from the WWE bylaws, thus Brock can defend when Brock wants to. Also puts more heel heat on Brock when he refuses to wrestle outside of big paydays.

As for the defenses outright, NOC should be someone other than Cena. I'd have a tournament on RAW to determine the guy, probably giving it to someone like Sheamus or a face-turned Randy Orton. Had Swagger beaten Rusev at Summerslam, I would've used that momentum to catapult him. Had Cesaro not been handled the way he has over the past few months, he would've been another option. Obviously, Big Dave take November. Cena should get the nod at the Rumble for the rubber match, Brock winning again to really put over the fact that this is a new era. Brock then drops the belt to a returning Bryan or an ascending Reigns at Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Why would Hunter do that, especially after RAW where he gave Brock a new belt? Hunter was also the guy who gave Brock the match in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I think having Daniel Bryan on that show would cause some serious problems for the main event. The crowd was already turning on Rock after his last match with Cena. If they hold off on bringing Bryan back until after Mania, they're cool; if they bring him back before and put him on that show, the crowd turns on the main event.

    ReplyDelete
  69. This story desperately needs another "Paul Heyman guy" to get around the various issues inherent in the story. We know that Lesnar is the best candidate to carry the belt into Wrestlemania, because a win over him will be more valuable to the next champ (Reigns?) than a win over anyone else. That may not have been the case given how Brock was booked earlier in his return, but thanks to his conquering the Streak and the way he just MurderDeathKilled Cena, it's true.

Unfortunately, we know Brock isn't working anything close to a full schedule between now and Mania, and it simply won't do to take the title out of the picture for the lengths of time that Brock will be gone. The best solution I can see is as follows:

Heyman comes out and declares that Brock doesn't play by the same rules as everyone else ("I love shoot comments that aren't supposed to yada yada..."). So, in order to get him in the ring, you need to EARN a shot, 30 days thing be damned (Trip and Steph sign off on this). And the manner in which one EARNS a title shot against the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar, who Conquered the Undertaker's Undefeated Streak at Wrestlemania, is you need to beat another "Paul Heyman Guy." And this, of course, is where Cesaro would have been perfect, because it would also feed into his face turn when he gets sick of being Brock's gatekeeper. Brock stays champ, his proxy keeps the title in play, and lo and behold, you have a plausible scenario where everyone wins (except house show audiences who get their jollies off of seeing the title defended).

    ReplyDelete
  70. Bryan just stopped a legit home invasion while still healing from neck surgery and an arm that was at 50% strength. I think his badass credentials more than make up for the size disadvantage.

    ReplyDelete
  71. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighAugust 19, 2014 at 11:42 AM

See I think you hold Bryan out until February. Plant no seeds of a potential rumble return. If he came back and helped Ambrose or whoever fight off the authority and challenged Rollins for the case that is a sensible route that the crowd wouldn't shit on

    ReplyDelete
  72. I think if he appears on any show before Mania, the crowd will expect him in the main event. He can be at the show, but not wrestling on it. Having him announce his return at Mania for the next night is probably the best course of action if they don't want the crowd to hijack the show.

    ReplyDelete
  73. A few problems I notice in everyone's scenarios:

Cesaro is going to be a top guy, just not the top guy. He can work and has charisma, but he isn't the best talker. That's going to hold him back. He might even get a match with Brock at some point. I just don't see him winning, and it definitely won't be at Mania.

The crowd in most cities is unpredictable. They have a set of guys they like (Bryan, Ambrose, etc.) and they refuse to accept anything else. Reigns is still on the fence but he might end up in that group. I could see him facing Brock and not incurring the crowd's wrath. Rock, however, is a no. The crowd was already turning against him in his last RAW appearance after losing to Cena. You put Brock and Rock out there, you probably end up with another Brock vs. Goldberg.

    Punk isn't coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Poor Palmetto, Florida....first they get subjected to Herb Abrams' only PPV, then they get subjected to a marathon RAW taping where the two biggest matches both involve the freaking Smoking Gunns and as icing on the cake, a year and a half later they got one of the worst Nitros ever.

What did they do to piss off wrestling companies to that extent? Did they demand ultra strict drug testing before the shows?

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think Cesaro is a really good talker. He has this goofy accented charisma like Wanderlei Silva does.

    ReplyDelete
  76. CM Punk almost beat Lesnar and it took Paul Heyman and a lot of shenanigans to beat him.

    ReplyDelete
  77. No offense, but that is a horrible comparison. Austin proved that he was *the* guy. Austin was the reason that the entire company to a turn in a positive direction. Of course you milk him as much as you can. Bryan is not even close to being near Austin's status. When you add the fact that Bryan is coming off a serious injury, I don't believe he's a good idea to beat Lesnar at all.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Oh, I agree with you that Batista's mic work near WM 26 was brilliant. I'm talking only about Batista in 2005, the time where he was green and his delivery and facial expressions were campy and needed a lot of work.

  83. This "30 days" thing everyone is citing sounds like it is from the territory days. I don't think that stip is going to hold water, unless Jericho channels his old Nitro personality:

Jericho: Listen here, Brick Laser. The World Heavyweight Championship has lines back to the old WCW Heavyweight Championship, which draws ITS lineage back to the NWA title. ERGO, according to bylaw 42, subsection C, paragraph 3, "the title holder must defend every 30 days or FORFEIT THE TITLE." Since today is 30 days, there's only 15 minutes of show left, and I'm the only guy left in the locker room, Brooks Lassiter, you can either give up your belt...er "championship" now, or defend it against me...RIGHT...NOW.

    ReplyDelete
  84. This proposed card kind of solves the Bryan 'problem' by having him face Rollins for the briefcase at Mania. If Bryan wins, then the fans will be expecting a cash-in after Lesnar beats the Rock.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Yeah but hogan was over in the 80s and held the the title. It was worth the shot to put him in a few main events with the belt to see how attendance and bye rates were affected

    ReplyDelete
  86. Here's my question about Roman Reigns.

How does he get better on the mic?

Conventional wisdom says that to get better talking...you've got to talk. You've got to do it...learn what works, learn what doesn't work, try to do the things that work more.

BUT...that's courting death with the fans--to "learn" on the job, to show that weakness in hopes of improvement. There seem to be far fewer backstage segments than there used to be...so any mic work "practice" is likely to be done on the entrance stage or in the ring--in front of all the fans.

And, as I've read on here, the solution to Reigns' current "cooling" is to shut him up--partner him with a manager/mouthpiece or simply go full-Goldberg on him and just have him be the silent, jobbersquashing, unstoppable monster...which works now, but doesn't get him better on the stick.

Natural charisma takes many forms. Reigns has the look (if not the in-ring skills) of someone that the fans should be into. But put a mic in his hand...and he's just not that interesting. He doesn't have that--and I don't know if you can teach "that" or if you just have to work around it.

  87. PPV revenue may have ceased to exist, but it's all about the Network revenue now. Maybe giving Brock a long run, while mainly keeping him off TV, will entice people to buy the Network to see this monster. Honestly, in today's wrestling, I'm not sure how many true draws exist, but I don't see the problem with trying something.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I was hoping that he'd wrestle as Dustin Rhodes and then don the Goldust outfit when shit got serious. Or the other way around would work just as well. Dustin could be the ass kicking persona when the time for fooling around was over.

  90. I'm not sure how you get to WrestleMania, but I am damn sure how you win at WrestleMania. Believe it or not, there is one big question mark surrounding Brock Lesnar in his return: the man in his corner. He's the advocate, but he's also the Mastermind, and he's the one difference between Brock in 2012 and Brock in 2014 with regards to Cena. So let's plug Ambrose in here and go to town:

STEP ONE: Annihilate Paul Heyman the first chance you get. Without his strategist and coach, Brock will make a mistake like, say, throwing the chain to your opponent in a no-DQ match so you can get clobbered with it. Ambrose takes a chair from ringside as the announcers are questioning why he'd throw away WrestleMania on a DQ, then crushes it into Heyman's back before giving him Dirty Deeds on the chair. Heyman is unconscious for most of the match.

STEP TWO: Run. Run like hell. Why is this important? Because Brock Lesnar comes from UFC, where matches go at most 5 minutes at a time, and in all his matches the opponent took it to him. His cardio has never honestly been tested, and when that goes, his power takes a hit. So Ambrose ducks and moves and ducks and moves, occasionally slapping the Beast to make him madder, more unstable, and more prone to miss a charge. He stays by the corner so that when Brock misses the charge, he hits his own body into the turnbuckles and weakens himself. If he does attack, he never holds still -- no weardown holds, no throws. He's all about flying strikes and moves that cause the two to fly apart.

STEP THREE: The most important step -- AIM FOR THE HEAD. His entire offense should be focused on smashing everything he can into Brock's temples. Why? Because I don't care how big or strong you are, your brain is vulnerable. A Brock with his bell run will be weaker yet. So focus on his noodle! Superkicks, enzuigiris, missile dropkicks -- hell, rip off Rollins' Curb Stomp. Brock is a monster who acts -- Heyman does his thinking for him, and we solved that issue -- so he'll get so mad he will leave himself open.

In short, this should be a video game boss battle. Eliminate the shields, let the boss hurt himself, and attack the weak point for massive damage before creating distance when he's ready to attack again. Keep this up and, after what will feel like an eternity, with Ambrose on his last legs from the few times he's caught, the Beast will go down.

You have to have the perfect match to beat Brock Lesnar. But it's doable.

  91. The simplest and best booking would be for Bryan to win the Rumble and beat Lesnar at WrestleMania. That said, here's something completely different that is more complicated and that I spent far too much time on:

John Cena comes back next week and says that he is forfeiting his championship rematch because he needs to prove himself worthy before facing Lesnar again. This allows us to get away from the Lesnar-Cena rematch and puts Cena into a redemption storyline where he can go into a couple of feuds with Rusev, Miz, etc.

At Night of Champions, Brock Lesnar defeats Rob Van Dam. Elsewhere on the card, Roman Reigns defeats Seth Rollins when Dean Ambrose returns to prevent the Authority from interfering. Brock Lesnar skips Hell in a Cell, which is headlined by Ambrose vs. Rollins with the Money-in-the-Bank contract on the line (throw in a big Cena or Reigns match as the co-main event).

The build to Survivor Series sees Randy Orton turn on the Authority and challenge Lesnar, tired of playing second-fiddle. Dean Ambrose takes part in the feud, continuously taunting Lesnar and the Authority, threatening to cash in the MITB contract. Meanwhile, ominous videos play randomly on Raw. Lesnar defeats Orton at SummerSlam, but Ambrose comes down after the match to cash in his contract. Kane charges down to the ringside area to stop him, but the lights go off. When they come back on, The Undertaker is standing in the center of the ring. Undertaker choke
slams Kane and then does the “cut-throat” signal towards Lesnar. Ambrose attacks Lesnar from behind…Dirty Deeds…1-2-3. Ambrose defeats Lesnar for the championship.

Lesnar appears the next night on Raw, interrupting the first match of the evening by demolishing both competitors. Heyman gets on the mic and announces that since Lesnar is quitting due to being screwed by Ambrose and Taker. Later in the evening, Kane challenges the Undertaker to come out. But Taker is nowhere to be seen and, instead, Ambrose answers his challenge, beating the monster in his first title defense.

Over the next few months, you continue with the Authority vs. Ambrose. Roman Reigns works his way into the title picture by winning the Royal Rumble. But because the Authority doesn’t want either man to hold the title, they insert Seth Rollins into the WrestleMania main event, making it a Shield Triple Threat Match.

In the weeks before WrestleMania, Sting finally makes his WWE debut. He says he wants to go face-to-face with The Undertaker. The next week, Taker comes out to answer the challenge but is met by the returning Brock Lesnar. John Cena, fresh off a victory over Rusev, runs out to make the save and challenges Lesnar to the rubber match at Mania.

This sets up a WrestleMania featuring Rollins vs. Reigns vs. Ambrose, Lesnar vs. Cena III, and Taker vs. Sting (or, preferably, Taker/Sting vs. the Wyatt Family or vs. Kane and a partner). Taker is re-introduced in a way that makes sense, but then moves on from Lesnar. Cena gets to have his redemption story. You get fresh faces in the title picture, while Lesnar remains strong.

  92. I'm fine with the pace of the RAW additions at this point. Fast enough to keep 'em coming, but slow enough that I don't get ridiculously far behind doing one a day.

  93. I long for the days of The Flower Shop, Brother Love, etc. These segments were designed to get guys over with a promo, pure and simple. Use a strong talker as the host and have the guest just bounce off the host's lead.

Of course, there are always House Shows where it's always a great opportunity to let the guys have small promo segments were they are allowed to wing it.

Wrestling is a lot like stand up comedy. The greats always try out their material in the small venues and the good ones make it onto the main show. This is where they develop theirr talent. To do an HBO special with untested jokes would be career suicide, yet wrestlers are expected to do it on a weekly basis. Not only that, but most are forced to use lines that they didn't write. They have no ability to ad-lib in almost all cases. How can you expect them to deliver it convincingly? The words don't mean anything to them. It's not their words to begin with. The formula has been broken for a very long time and I honestly don't see any chance of it being fixed.

  94. I would at least say that LT was from my memory at least one of the 3 most famous players of his era (along with Joe Montana and Jerry Rice). The Fridge too, but he was more of a useful novelty than a great player.

Okay here how it should go
we have established that Brock is not going to make too many appearances outside of PPV, so we have to make them worthwhile
From now to say end of December, let Brock give the JTTS guys a chance- kinda like if you win the non title match in less than say 10 minutes- you get a future title shot- of Brock is going to destroy everyone in his path (this will eliminate Henry, Big Show, Khali, Ryder and a few others
January 2015: Randy Orton and John Cena each call out Brock, saying they know how to defeat him but he's too busy hiding behind Heyman to give them another shot- boom triple threat at Rumble, Brock wins this one but its not easy. Meanwhile, we see the start of the "Yes" chant again as vignettes of Bryan play stating he will be back
Feburary: Brock claims that he is bored with the competition so he thinks that he might retire the title if he doesn't get suitable opponents and charges Heyman to find some. He defends the title at No Way Out against a determined Sheamus (winner of the Rumble and he decides to cash in early) and then we have Brie approaching Heyman saying that her husband would like a shot at the title that he never lost. Heyman laughs it off saying that Brock will cripple him for life.

  96. yeah the ratings being high after wm for the next 3 weeks say Bryan was bringing it as far as new fans go.

  97. Oh and by the way Austin also had a major neck injury that never fully healed around the same time as WM 14 so yeah the comparisons aren't bad

  98. By the way no it doesn't end the "Cena doesn't put people over" Heres a heartbreaker for you Lesnar is the bigger star Cena doesn't have a choice really. EVeryone knows now who the bigger draw and who the company is ridingg to WM and its justice

  99. I think we are over-thinking the Lesnar "long title reign". Is WWE going to let him carry the title til Wrestlemania? I can totally see Cena winning the title back at NoC, only for Rollins to cash-in.

  100. Gorilla could handle JBL. Cole used to be able to, even if it got him threatened. Now? Fuck it, that whole team is a wreck.
