Tonight, on WWE Network: At 8:00 ET it's Best of RAW from 6/7/10 featuring the memorable debut of The Nexus. Then at 10:30 it's the Video Vault which spotlights the ladder match from SummerSlam 95 between HBK and Razor Ramon, which is already available in the library as part of the PPV. Video Vault could be much more than what they're currently doing with it.
Also, MLB action, preseason football with Niners-Ravens, and whatever else you want to bring to the table, where surely someone will leave it and let it play out.

I wonder what the plan would've been for Daniel Bryan had he not been injured. After beating Kane at Extreme Rules, who would he have feuded with through June and July? Would we be looking at Bryan vs. Brock for SummerSlam? Where would that have left Cena and Reigns?
ReplyDeletePersonal reference:
ReplyDeleteThe Road Warriors or Demolition?
Go!
Wow...just reread Scott's Summerslam '90 rant. There's a total of 13 dead people on that show across ten matches. What a bummer.
ReplyDeleteI think they might have done Reigns/Triple H. It looked like they were heading that way in the couple months after Mania. Who knows? Maybe we would have gotten Cena/Orton Part 39.
ReplyDeleteDemolition.
ReplyDeleteThe Road Warriors. Next time pick a harder question.
ReplyDeleteyou answered wrong
ReplyDeleteI always thought it was working toward Brock taking the title from him. Not sure if it was going to be SS but I thought he would be the guy
ReplyDeleteLove both but I'd go Road Warriors. And I mean Road Warriors not Legion of Doom.
ReplyDeleteI can't get the SNME theme out of my head. Not that I'm complaining.
ReplyDeleteAnyone kind of surprised they didn't bring in any extra stars for SummerSlam? They should've built it up as big as they did WrestleMania to try and get the people to re-up their subscriptions and get new subscribers in. I'm sure tossing The Rock, Undertaker (could squash someone in like a 10 minute match I'm sure), Austin (to guest referee a match), Hogan (to host again or work a tag match with Swagger vs. Rusev and someone), Batista (to face Orton maybe?) ....
ReplyDeleteDemolition, you handsome devil you.
ReplyDeleteRoad Warriors.
ReplyDeleteResident Evil 4 is still one of the best games ever. Playing it all day.
ReplyDeleteVince can't multitask. When something has his attention (steroid trial, stock plummet, etc) he completely losing his focus and the product goes down.
ReplyDeleteYOUR Birthday man is here. Hopefully not Forever 27!
ReplyDeleteDemolition didn't overstay their welcome too badly, other than getting squashed at WM7. LOD on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday fellow Cleveland Steamer!
ReplyDeleteremember....it's YOUR day. And you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteYou need a cake with 9.99 candles.
ReplyDeleteIt was my day to work lol!
ReplyDeleteUh... Brock?
ReplyDeleteI didn't mention him because he is actually booked lol
ReplyDeleteLol I actually thought about that today.
ReplyDeleteto be fair they didn't have much choice in the matter. Though I will say they broke up at the perfect time.
ReplyDeleteThe King of Cleveland. Or at the very least, the King of whatever suburb he happens to be in.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday from Brazil.
ReplyDeleteParty's over, Grandpa.
ReplyDeleteBut doesn't he fit the definition of "extra star"? He's the ultimate part-timer
ReplyDeleteHOW IS JOBBER'S NEW TV?!
ReplyDeleteWatched the 1/2/1989 episode of Prime Time today. Feature bout was Bad News Brown vs. Bret Hart from the Boston Garden. 20-minute draw. **1/2. Heenan was on his game all night per usual. "You know why I drink my wine with a paperbag over it? Because you never know when it's gone."
ReplyDeleteCrush and Smash against the Nasty Boys would have been interesting, but they didn't have much left to give otherwise.
ReplyDeleteFucking awesome is how it is!
ReplyDeleteReigns came off like kind of a dick in that exchange.
ReplyDeleteIt sort of fits reports of how he has been a dick to fans too.
ReplyDeleteKidman can't even draw flies in his food.
ReplyDeleteStarted Final Fantasy X today. The sphere grid stuff is so confusing.
ReplyDeleteI'm predicting Hogan gets involved in the Swagger-Rusev match, helps Swagger win and poses with Swagger afterward. Or if not Hogan, then Lex Luger. Budget cuts, you know...
ReplyDeleteFuck. Beat me to it.
ReplyDeleteToken Birthday Wishes!
ReplyDeleteTidus, die!
ReplyDelete??
ReplyDeleteI never got into Smash and Crush
ReplyDeleteKidman should just end this with "I fucked Torrie Wilson. A lot. I win."
ReplyDeleteTidus is really annoying.
ReplyDeleteOh I thought you spoiled something lol
ReplyDeleteI think they would have been better faces, but that's assuming that a) Smash had the same fire from early 1990, b) Crush becomes the face he was later on and c) LOD never show up
ReplyDeleteYeah, looks like Kidman was making a joke and Roman took him seriously.
ReplyDeleteIf Braziliankid was a masked wrestler, his name would be The Spoiler.
ReplyDeleteThere is one of the early Rumbles like that. '89 or '90 I think. It is like watching the Walking Dead
ReplyDeleteSpoiler alert.
ReplyDeleteCena wins at Summerslam.
June would have been a Kane rematch. July, Bryan fights Orton so Orton gets his rematch in on PPV. August is Brock again.
ReplyDeleteI think he was going to have at least one more month with Kane... IDK after that.
ReplyDeleteAll your posts should come with "Spoiler Alert" as the header.
ReplyDeleteI was a WWF kid growing up, so it's Demolition all the way for me. But as I grew up, I had more of an appreciation for the Road Warriors.
ReplyDeleteIt takes some getting used to... but the real crap part of that game is playing Blitzball, oh and how Emo the main character can be.
ReplyDeleteAnyone watching the Best of RAW show?
ReplyDeleteYou'll notice he hasn't been around all day...
ReplyDeletethe biggest issue was the division being too deep in 90/91. Just bad timing. By 92 the ranks were very thin.
ReplyDeleteAnyone watch the Heyman doc yet? It is awesome, but Stephanie sticks out like a sore thumb. Her by-the-book schooling and born-on-third-base-and-acts-like-she-hit-a-triple attitude is in full form.
ReplyDeleteShe is as bitter and envious as they come as it concerns Heyman's intellect and creativity. I'm not sure if she was trying to provide a counter balance to the compliments, but history would show (by the way ratings declined after Heyman left Smackdown and ECW) that there was something great about the way he did things, AND that MAYBE Stephanie's way wasn't the right way.
You think someone would be more Emo than Squall.
ReplyDeleteI have it on. Go to WWE.com and vote, playas!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid he got sucked into the world of giant weiners.
ReplyDeleteWho would you rather see: THEDEMONKANE or Smilin' Big Show?
ReplyDeleteThe sphere grid is easy once you get the hang of it. I even like the Blitzball stuff. But the ending... Jesus.
ReplyDeleteWhy the WWE still thinks those guys are draws is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteI'd take Kane.
One more thing, don't play FF X-2.
ReplyDeleteJobber got a new TV? And why are you yelling?
ReplyDeleteBig Show is a lot more tolerable as a face. Iron Clad contract Big Show was the worst.
ReplyDeleteThere are many worse FF games than FFX-2.
ReplyDelete**********************SPOILERS BELOW**********************************
ReplyDelete* *
********************************************************************************
"DAD... I HATE YOU!"
I didn't hate FF X-2 at all.
ReplyDeleteI warned you
ReplyDeleteThe "Show 1 Reply" was in the middle of my page lol
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the return to the job class system actually
ReplyDeleteYou guys think an "indy" stable invasion of WWE with Devitt, Steen, Zayn, Neville, KENTA would work?
ReplyDeleteIt was a good continuation of the story without rehashing too much. I was a little upset about the downgrading of blitzball, but I accept it.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder if the kid ever gets tired of being wrong all the time...
ReplyDeleteThe completion percentage thing was a precursor to Achievements IMO, which makes it a tad ahead of its time.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, definitely check it out (I rented the doc from Amazon) for:
ReplyDelete-How he hustled his way into arenas, locker rooms, and productions meetings
-Hearing from lots of non-WWE guys tell an objective story
-Heyman gloating how Smackdown kicked Raw's ass for a while in content and in ratings
-Stephanie and how she keeps on trying to put him down. You might say she feels inferior, I don't know.. it's all I can come up with because she stretches a bunch to put him down.
-And how he works with the new talent at the end.
LOL... possibly not. Caliber never seemed to.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone think the reason many of us don't really care for what we see on wrestling programming anymore is due to the fact that we are long-time fans and have seen most of the angles? It's sort of like a magic show where we've seen all the acts.
ReplyDeleteYup. a 75". Said he was staying up all night last night and staying home from work today to watch... and indeed he hasn't posted all day.
ReplyDeleteI like the Video Vault feature. Kinda like making your own a la carte comp tape...in a sense. Especially since the search function is a complete fucking joke. How in the hell does "Flair Steamboat Clash" bring up RAW matches from 2011??
ReplyDeleteI want them as a stable, but maybe some variation on the (overly done) invasion thing.
ReplyDeleteWomen in general carry grudges and since she and Paul don't get along, I can see that being the source of her comments. Stephanie also strikes me as very insecure. She knows that Shane was probably the heir apparent to the company before she and Triple H ran him off.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense. The other day someone was bashing TNA for re-hashing storylines, and I'm thinking, "Isn't pretty much everything in wrestling now a rehash of something?"
ReplyDeleteIt's not bad unless you can see it coming. There are always ways to twist a classic story. I think the apathy is because nothing on the show has changed in at least five years. Even this viewer's choice Raw is no different than now except some of the players and JBL on commentary.
ReplyDelete8 was actually one of my least favorites. Tying the number of spells to your stats, and the draw system can fuck right off... and that dumb ass card game...
ReplyDeleteCould be. Karl Stern described it as "the story has been told", as in there's no further payoffs to be had for him that he hasn't seen before, which is why he doesn't pay much attention to the current product. I can understand that.
ReplyDeleteTrue. It definitely contributes to the staleness. Unlike prior periods in WWF history, nothing is evolving into anything.
ReplyDeleteI loved it but I wish they talked more about hisWCW and WWF runs. We've heard all about ECW. I was more interested in hearing about his Dangerous Alliance and run as SmackDown writer.
ReplyDeleteSteph sure didn't try and hide the fact that she didn't like Heyman. I loved when Heyman pointed out that SmackDown beat Raw in the ratings and that "some people" couldn't stand it.
No. Its because it sucks.
ReplyDeleteThe next step better be making fully functional playlists that can play one after another. There are times where I want it on in the background or want to fall asleep to it, and don't want to keep getting up to click on something new every 20-30 minutes. I actually think that's what the Video Vault will be a precursor to, but I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteEh. I'm a a simple guy. You put some compelling characters that have distinct personalities in the ring and let them wrestle and I'm happy. I think WWE and TNA try to overthink things too much with storylines and they end up sucking.
ReplyDeleteI got about halfway through 8 before I gave up on it. It's the only FF of the PS1-2 generation I didn't finish.
ReplyDeleteThis Raw is awful. The last 10 minutes is good. I turned it on and saw Hornswoggle leading Great Khali to the ring.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. But I'm still curious as to why Cooler Nasty up there is yelling.
ReplyDeleteNo. The characters suck and the writing sucks.
ReplyDeleteI didn't play 12 at all. I got a demo of it with Dragonquest or something and I saw that combat didn't cut away so I never even tried the full thing. I defeated all of the others many times over.
ReplyDeleteThe Nexus one? I remember that show being HORRID until the last segment.
ReplyDeleteIs IX worth playing? I have it and have heard nothing but good stuff about it. I might play it after X.
ReplyDeleteWhat story, FF X-2 had the worst story of the franchise. Dress Sphere? Ghost concerts?
ReplyDeleteHe urgently wanted to know
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've never been one to sit down and watch entire shows all that often. If I could make and save match playlists I would have like 50 done the first day. Hell it's why I never got too many of the individual wrestler dvds...I don't want a tape of [Wrestler X] matches. I much prefer the compilations.
ReplyDeleteNo. I think Paul Heyman said it best. Wrestling is High Plains Drifter with Clint Eastwood. Here's the bad guys. Build them up. Now here's the good guy who can kick their ass. Now let them fight.
ReplyDeleteHell no. None of them can talk. And don't say the fat guy should be the mouthpiece.
ReplyDeleteIX is very fun and is kind of a forgotten gem of the series. It is much more light hearted than the others.
ReplyDeleteWhich was what made that last segment so awesome to see...aside from the level of destruction from so many guys to the entire set feeling like true anarchy and mayhem for the first time in forever.
ReplyDeleteHeyman could lead them.
ReplyDeleteNow you're making more sense. Continue.
ReplyDeleteThe writing really sucks. Its annoying when I come up with better angles and storylines just laying in bed trying to fall asleep than these idiots who get paid to spend all week on them
ReplyDeleteOk. I like the sound of that. I'll play it after X then. I started 8 and got right to the end of disc 1 and just didn't like it. I might finish it eventually, though.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad that I can't watch Demolition matches at work. If somebody happens to see my screen they'll think I'm into some weird S&M thing.
ReplyDeleteGeez...I'd say Big Show.
ReplyDeleteThey haven't done anything that cool since either, maybe once or twice. Nexus showed WWE knows how to make people immediate threats if they want to.
ReplyDeleteThe dress sphere is the same mechanic most FF games used until 7 or so. It requires a lot of strategy... I get the impression you don't like how female centric it was.
ReplyDeleteOMG the "Undertaker found in a VEGETATIVE STATE" angle
ReplyDeleteThe only problem I have with TNA rehashing storylines is that they are rehashing storylines with the same people involved, 10-15 years later.
ReplyDeleteDidn't it end up being Kane himself?
ReplyDelete12 is pretty good, it has a weak protagonist but the supporting cast is great.
ReplyDeleteI tended to space out for some of the ECW stuff because we knew most of the story and have heard about it again and again. But some stories from Gabe, Gordon, and one background/backstage dude whose I can't remember were nice touches. I'm hoping that closes the book on mentioning ECW again, but I don't know.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I was thinking, but it's probably too many guys under one umbrella for these days.
ReplyDeleteBeing female centric wasn't the problem and the job system is good. Main gripe with the game is with the Story, it just sucks.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be against it, but Generico as a heel (assuming he'd be that if they were an "invading faction) doesnt work at all for me
ReplyDeleteIt looked like a totally different game to me... like it was trying to be an action RPG instead of a JRPG and I'm not down with that.
ReplyDeleteYes. And propelled Kane to one of the worst title reigns ever and a Worst Feud of the Year candidate (winner?) with Edge.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Mattel got all offended about Bryan choking Justin Roberts with a tie. So ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteCheesing Sheamus. He puts Big Shows smile to Shame
ReplyDeleteWas the that feud where Kane the kidnapper/rapist was playing the babyface?
ReplyDeleteHad a kickass match with Mysterio at SummerSlam though
ReplyDeleteYou guys hear about Kojima and Del Toro doing a Silent Hill game?
ReplyDeleteNo this was Edge abducting Kane's dad Paul Bearer and tormenting him.
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna be awesome.
ReplyDeleteBTW, you should have text Kev during RAW the other night and told him to "Stick" Hogan
ReplyDeleteAlright, it's been a while since I played the game, but I thought the continuation of FFX was done well. The world has moved on from FFX and the girls are moving on with their lives. Was the ending frustrating? A little, but if you want a 100 percent happy ending, don't play a Final Fantasy game.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would argue that FF8 and FF13 had much worse stories.
To be fair, you don't have Vince McMahon crashing your dreams saying, "You know what we should do? Have him puke in the ring!"
ReplyDeleteThey could be called "The Wrestlers" and have Heyman bring them out saying Lesnar's pure athlete self inspired him to do this. Mentor guys that put wrestling first. Have them beat up the goofy idiots like Rose, Fandango, etc.
ReplyDeleteThey really blew what wound up being Undertaker's final year of wrestling more than just at WrestleMania. Has his title reign with some great matches, has the classic against Shawn, returns in May and gets injured by Mysterio, they do the Vegetable stuff, he returns at SummerSlam and then feuds with KANE again for 3 months and has dirt poor matches putting Kane over 3 times(!) before disappearing into the pattern of WrestleMania we've settled into.
ReplyDeleteIt completely changed what it meant to be a FInal Fantasy game. It wasn't the worst game in the franchise, but I wouldn't rank it that high, either. It had a lot more potential than they took advantage of.
ReplyDeleteFF8 at least had Seifer's breakdown through the game.
ReplyDeleteFF13 story wasn't that awful but I did find it hard to follow at times.
ReplyDeleteDid you get the 100% completion ending in FFX-2?
I also recommend FFIX. It was a great FANTASY palate cleanser from the techno-magic of VII and VIII.
ReplyDeleteIf this was turn base it would be one of the best FF. The story is pretty serious.
ReplyDeleteKozlov looked the part better than Rusev does now. In the ring was a different story.
ReplyDeleteSo after all of the plot twists, was Paul Bearer supposed to be Kane's dad or Undertaker's dad, or both, or what?
ReplyDeleteIf only the game had a good villain.
ReplyDeleteI like that the main protagonist wasn't a miserable prick for once.
ReplyDeleteScott gave it ** 1/4. I thought it was average, myself.
ReplyDeleteIt just gets forgotten because it came so late in the PS1 era.
ReplyDeletePlus a great supporting cast. Steiner and Vivi may be my two favorite FF characters ever.
ReplyDeleteLast I remember Paul was Kane's father because he slept with Undertakers mother. Undertaker's mom and Dad were killed in the fire that also scarred Kane(emotionally) and said fire may or may not have been set by Undertaker.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I stopped paying attention to the Kane character after WrestleMania and you remain saner if you do so.
Lol start shooting on the spot. Some people thought he was ribbing or something with that singing, thats seriously his singing voice. It gets no better
ReplyDeleteUndertaker and Rey had a great match at the 2010 Rumble though.
ReplyDeleteLol touche
ReplyDeleteWith Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead, by the way.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea what he's bulking up for?
ReplyDeleteSee I didn't think he was that bad
ReplyDeleteVivi is funny. I played about an hour of FF IX and he's in KH II as well.
ReplyDeleteOK, I thought after unmasking Kane kinda flopped, they were acting like there wasn't really a fire.
ReplyDeleteI had to play it through a second time to get the 100 percent completion.
ReplyDeleteOnce I finally get around to the remastered version I bought, it'll be the third time I've played the game. I don't do that too often anymore.
Kozlov/Santino segment is actually good!
ReplyDeleteI only saw it when my friends brother was playing it and they were singing in a concert or something. I had no idea what was going on. Huge FF10 fan however
ReplyDeleteWatching a 1990 MSG show on the Network ... Hacksaw Jim Duggan comes out for his match vs. Earthquake and acts like the 2x4 is a shotgun, cocking it and "shooting" Earthquare. No way they'd do that now after all the school shootings.
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no clue who 80% of those Divas are.
ReplyDeleteAgree. You'll eventually get the hang of it, and its worth it. One of the best in the series. Sweet game
ReplyDeleteThe three divas remaining on the roster just happen to be sleeping with high-profile employees.
ReplyDeleteOn a lounge lizard scale, it's probably ****
ReplyDeleteIt would be a better feature, in my opinion, if they included some rare stuff from old Coliseum Video releases, or territory stuff. But again, I'm not one of those guys yelling at them to hurry up and release more classic content. I just take whatever they deliver.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worth picking up the FFX/FFX-2 two-pack they released a couple of months back.
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
ReplyDeleteHave him just decide that he wants all the titles to go along with Brock's world title, then it actually might mean something when the US and IC titles get defended.
ReplyDeleteWe'll, Kozlov was a real Russian.
ReplyDeleteHere's your trophy.
ReplyDeleteI used to dig when Punk would call her "Maurice" on commentary.
ReplyDeleteRosa Mendes still being employed, cmon man.
ReplyDeleteFuck that, dude. If Paul Heyman ever again has a stable, and they DON'T re-use the Dangerous Alliance, I will quit... something. Probably tiddlywinks, like Piper at WM2.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching for five minutes and Cole has stated "This is a 3-hour edition of RAW" eight times already.
ReplyDeleteI remember that Viewers Choice Raw, and how when Scott reviewed it, it was only one sentence.
ReplyDeleteSo he was worst before the went for the full 3.
ReplyDeleteTo quote Kaientai: INDEED
ReplyDeleteI miss the old days when Cole would shill something for $9.99.
ReplyDelete...am I missing something or aren't there way more than 3?
ReplyDeleteI saw Laya, Alicia Fox and the Bellas
ReplyDeletethere's 5, I dont see Alicia and Layla when they panned right
ReplyDeleteI never played 8. I made it about halfway thru 9, but as I was changing the 2nd disc for the 3rd, like an idiot I turned off the system and bam it was gone. Never having a PS1 memory card didnt help.
ReplyDeleteWhat system?
ReplyDeleteWonder who has to live out Reigns' "bug in food" ordeal now that Vickie's gone
ReplyDeleteAs in movies, formula is not bad if you execute it well. The WWE proved that with the Daniel Bryan/WMXXX story, but an angle like that tends to be the aberration than the rule, and even then it took several fan hijackings-of-support for WWE to take him seriously.
ReplyDeleteYea it isnt, just goofy
ReplyDeleteYou know, Hornswoggle and Khali as a team sounded good on paper, but when they came out.....
ReplyDeleteAh you mean on the RAW that is airing on the network... I just thought you meant at all.
ReplyDeleteMagic Mike 2
ReplyDeleteDude, how many trophies do I have to give you?
ReplyDeleteHere's one for being #1 in "What Are You Smoking?"
That's gonna be one twisted fucking game, and once I heard about it today, I was instantly looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteGDT has a LOT of potential projects floating around, though. Sometimes I feel like the stuff I really want him to do (like the Justice League Dark movie) will never happen.
So who took Undertaker out? I wasn't watching at the time.
ReplyDeletePeople that want Sheamus to turn heel. Look. He's just as lame.
ReplyDeletePS3. It is a download.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a job for Sandow.
ReplyDelete
