Comments

  1. Pretty clear people wanted to see Sting then bounced when it was clear he wasn't going to be there.

    ReplyDelete
  2. "They will air a countdown show leading up to the All-Time Best Moment in TNA history."

This is going to be hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I'd make jokes about the "TNA Best of" show only being 15 minutes long, but ya know... low hangin' fruit...

    ReplyDelete
  4. Just because a joke is easy doesn't mean it isn't funny.

    ReplyDelete
  5. This was the Top Ten of TNA's "50 Greatest Moments" DVD:

#10: Candido Leads the Naturals to the Tag Team Titles
#9: Christian Cage Becomes NWA World Heavyweight Champion
    #8: Barbed Wire Massacre
#7: Styles Ends Jarrett’s World Title Reign
#6: AMW vs. Triple X – Six Sides of Steel
#5: Christian Cage Arrives in TNA
    #4: The Unbreakable Three Way
#3: Jeff Jarrett Attacks Hulk Hogan
    #2: Sting Returns to Wrestling
#1: Impact Debut on Spike TV

#4 is really the only thing worthy of being #1.

    ReplyDelete
  6. TJ: For anyone who can't stand me, you can all thank Tom Dawkings for my presence. I tracked down my 1st ever post, as I was content with just being a lurker, but one comment was just sooo over the top ridiculous that I had to create an account and reply to it... :)

    http://www.rspwfaq.net/2013/12/what-world-was-watching-monday-night_24.html#more

And thus the legend of Vince Jordan was born!!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. So they obviously had some interest coming off of Survivor Series, that's good I guess. Cena losing = ratings!

    ReplyDelete
  8. And #2 should really be the "Steiner Math" promo. Or "HE'S FAT!" Or that promo where he repeatedly calls the Dudleys "FAT ASSES".

Really, the "Best of TNA" should be 50% Scott Steiner promos.

    ReplyDelete
  9. You mean, no one wanted to see the anonymous RAW GM? Mind. Blown (poof)

    ReplyDelete
  10. You've only been here a year?! Blimey. You have settled in well. :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. But that was a legitimate post! That's not you.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Or Scott Steiner: Ring Announcer.

    ReplyDelete
  13. They seem to like Christian. I really just saw him as a WWE castoff who basically ruined Monty Brown's career, to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Also the bunny isn't a real bunny, it is a guy in a costume!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I was working through the kinks. Like a long running series during season 1.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Does this mean I deserve an ice pack?

    ReplyDelete
  17. How known was it Bryan was going to be on? (grasping at straws not to give Sting credit for the hour 1 boost)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Magazines have lead time and don't miraculously take photographs, write articles, and set layouts the morning of

    ReplyDelete
  19. WHOA! These kinds of decisions have to go before the BoD tribunal.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Not very. But they couldn't promote DB for fear of giving away the ending.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ah yes.

"Team 3D, you guys are outta your minds, comin' to Atlanta, Georgia, where the Steiner brothers got their start, in professional wrestling! You guys are outta your minds, makin' it a table match! This night, we're gonna beat you atchoo own game! And afters all's sun'n'done, you're gonna be taking some splinters outta your FAAAT ASSES, all night night, cause you got some FAAAT ASSES! Know what chance you have? You have no chance, but you had a chance, was so could run lickety-split! But you can't run, 'cause you got some FAAAT ASSES! After all's sud'n'done, we're gonna have a tailgate party for ALL MY FREAKS out there, in Atlanta, Georgia!"

    ReplyDelete
  22. It's only 9, plenty of time for another meltdown!

    ReplyDelete
  23. It was definitely Sting. I know a couple of people that don't watch that watched just to see him but bailed before the end so... science.

    ReplyDelete
  24. We had a glorious one last night.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Also the payoff of HHH/Steph going out of power i'm sure.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Who had a meltdown?

    ReplyDelete
  27. People still read magazines?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Do tell. I usually skip the night threads.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Didn't you hear me? SCIENCE

    ReplyDelete
  30. TNA was still pretty good in 2007. Probably wouldn't add too many moments from years since.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Damn. Still don't get why they have him show up, let Steph do a 5 minute rant on him showing up.........then don't bother to have him on air. Even a taped "We confronted Sting after"...and even if that just ends him in scowling and walking off?

    ReplyDelete
  32. "I really just saw him as a WWE castoff"

Up until recently that was 1/3rd of TNA's roster.

Since Christian was the first WWE guy to legitimately jump to TNA, I think that is why TNA sees him as such a big get.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Need something to read on the potty. Using your phone is just nasty ish.

    Also, potty.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wasn't he after Angle?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Eh, during the HHH/Steph opening promo, they showed some body building magazine the announcers had to blow them for. Lawler something stupid like "I can assure you this was not done this morning and must have been done weeks ago while they still had power"

    ReplyDelete
  36. The only song I could bring myself to vote for this week was ABC. Hated all of the others.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Kyle Fitta lost his shit on WWF1987 like more than usual then inexplicably turned on me, blaming me for being the one that posted the Abeyance pictures and showing that he has been fixated on me for months... then when no one caught his back when through and changed all his comments in the conversation to "........."

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yep, it just made TNA look bad. It was the first clear case of "This guy just can't get a big role in WWE, as there are too many big names, but the moment he steps on our turf, he'll immediately run through our entire roster and be champ. "

Made TNA look 100 times inferior to WWE. Plus they could have just kept Monty away from him. Didn't have to job their potential franchise guy for Christian's 1st title defense.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Agreed, not having him there was a mistake in my not at all humble opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Kiss From A Rose. Another golden tune from the Batman Soundtrack family.

    ReplyDelete
  41. He's been teetering that way for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  42. They had a huge audience tune in to watch the end of the authority angle, which petered out when the show had no matches or angles to build towards for the end of the show that people actually wanted to watch. The main event was a comedy match for petes sake.
If instead of the handicap match, the main event was Ziggler Vs Rollins for the MITB briefcase, then we might have kept the audience. Even if they announced the new general manager would be announced at the end of the show they would have had a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  43. That was a very solid soundtrack.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Those pics were wildly disturbing, btw.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sounds like I missed a fun one.

    ReplyDelete
  46. He probably hid in the rafters right after. He usually doesn't check his texts either (unlike Nash)

    ReplyDelete
  47. He posted a conversation he and I had on Facebook in like June to prove that... he wasn't the one who posted the pictures of Abeyance... from Facebook.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonNovember 26, 2014 at 7:21 AM

So you treat it like RAW?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Why can't that be Adam Rose's heel theme?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Angle was fired due to Wellness issues though. Christian decided not to renew his contract. It's a small but definite difference.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Nope. Christian debuted in TNA in November 2005. Angle debuted October 2006.

Plus, Christian legit jumped from WWE to TNA. Like most WWE castoffs, Angle went to TNA because WWE released him.

    ReplyDelete
  52. HEY! I'm on a 2 Raws watching streak!!! That's pretty darn good!

    ReplyDelete
  53. ....random but I always wonder what constitutes an appearance for wrestlers contract wise. Not like the pre-taped things are that great, but if it costs them nothing extra to film anything with Sting Sunday, or anything with what's-his-name, Champ Brocksnar?, then why not? They have 3 frigging hours to fill. Then again, if just showing new footage would trigger another payment, I can understand.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Vince Jordan Streak > Goldberg Streak

    ReplyDelete
  55. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonNovember 26, 2014 at 7:22 AM

In the case of comic books I prefer the actual print them over kindles and other shit,

    ReplyDelete
  56. That's a potential PPV match though, would have been stupid to give so much away. There needs to be a fine line.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Wait, it was from June? By the time I read, everything was ellipsed and figured he had some smoking gun....christ

    ReplyDelete
  58. Same. I don't think of those as magazines though. I mean shit like "Time"

    ReplyDelete
  59. Homer: Is this episode going on the air live?
June Bellamy: No, Homer. Very few cartoons are broadcast live. It's a terrible strain on the animators' wrists.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Complete with the piped-in chants, but instead of created by the WCW machine, they're created by his mom.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Feeling awful so didn't go into work today. I'm watching judgment day 09 after Jobber was going crazy about it last night.

    ReplyDelete
  62. No. It was basically a conversation we had months ago where we talked about a couple of people form the BoD. I said Abeyance looked like a Goonie and he figured that would incriminate me.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Slightly related, I watched the "Commentary" version of the American Pie movie a few years ago, and they mentioned that they screwed up during the webcam scene, as they had 1 guy utter 1 line when he was watching. And that 1 line meant they automatically had to pay him more, compared to if he just watched and smiled. Interesting rule.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Oh, right okay. I thought the years were the other way round.

    ReplyDelete
  65. If Ziggler/Rollins is at TLC then I'll agree with you. I don't read Smackdown Spoilers, so it might have already been announced hence I now look stupid. However if it's not going to take place at TLC. Then having that match on Raw especially with an overbooked ending won't harm the buiyrate for the match happening on PPV next spring

    ReplyDelete
  66. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 26, 2014 at 7:25 AM

    That's not true.

    ReplyDelete
  67. OH YOU TALKED ABOUT HIS MOMMA!

    ReplyDelete
  68. The big question would be: why does any of this matter to anybody though?

    ReplyDelete
  69. The ratings for hours 2 and 3 were still a decent amount up from last week. Be interesting if THEY stick around.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I think the main event was perfectly fine.

1- There was fan participation, I'm sure a lot of people, especially marks, loved to vote for Option 3

2- It was cool to see a heel having the odds against him for once

    3- Ziggler looked great.

No need to waste a potential money match.

    ReplyDelete
  71. It doesn't. And everyone both told him that and no sold his shit which seemed to bother him even more. He ahd already decided he was "Leaving" the BoD but he wanted to like "Take me down" before he went or something.

    ReplyDelete
  72. There is a possibility he was watching it high as a kite.

    ReplyDelete
  73. #3 is the random attack on Hogan in Japan that went nowhere?
That is their 3rd best ever moment?

    ReplyDelete
  74. I hate these "random" PPV names, especially when they change them around. I have no idea what matches are on this show, since I have no idea what month it happened. For example, if they want a "judgement day" PPV, it should always be on the same month, every single year.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yep, I would imagine wrestlers are fucked on that kind of thing but movies are union'd out the wazoo with it. Was reading an article on the "filmed back to back" movie business (hobit/hunger games/maybe Supe/Batman and just league)...anything released as two movies forces a separate contract and negotiation. (Which, makes sense, can imagine some studio getting a new actor doing one film, they blow up, then Ed Wood the shit out of it and use that actor dozens more films) but interesting nonetheless

    ReplyDelete
  76. He probably was. It's a good show so far.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Plus, Vince(n. Jordan) to be sitting on Starcade and Halloween Havoc

    ReplyDelete
  78. NOW I HAVE TO PUNCH HIM. IT'S THE LAW.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Judgment Day was in October in 98 bit was May from 00-09. I do wish they went to the standard format they had for most of the 00s

    ReplyDelete
  80. He doesn't live too far from me... after you punch him we should hang out.

    ReplyDelete
  81. If you punch me, I'm telling on you.

    ReplyDelete
  82. It was a very big deal when it happened and was supposed to lead to a Jarrett/Hogan match at TNA's first 3 hour PPV... but yes, it went nowhere and TNA's first 3 hour PPV wasn't until over a year later (Victory Road 2004).

You'd think that would knock it down about 30 notches on a "Greatest Moments" list, but this is TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  83. All of the reasons you list are great thing to have in a match, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the main event segment of RAW coming off the second biggest PPV of the year and which has an increased audience was a comedy match.
Have the match as the 2nd hour main event by all means, then have something else as the main event. Rusev defending the US title, move the Harper/Ambrose match up and make it NoDQ, Announce the new GM will be revealed.
Just have something to build to that fans will want to stay tuned in for.

    ReplyDelete
  84. That Lawler quote was actually pretty smart.

    ReplyDelete
  85. This is true. You're a shorter dude, right? I'm 6'5". It'll be like "Twins". Wanna get matching white blazers and sunglasses and strut around town? We can make a day of it.

    ReplyDelete
  86. It was impossible to follow after awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  87. This cannot possibly surprise anyone. It's TNA!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 26, 2014 at 7:33 AM

So, Destination America is one of the Networks that Hulu lists as having content from. If this means Impact is on Hulu the day after it airs, I may start watching Impact again...

    ReplyDelete
  89. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonNovember 26, 2014 at 7:33 AM

    ...that year.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Great "Perfect Strangers" like movie.

    ReplyDelete
  91. To cover bases why they're promoting it? Yeah. But the actual quote (was only paraphrasing) was more like Homer's live cartoon quote quoted above.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Attitude Era/Crash TV is over, dude. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  93. No, this is from "TNA'S GREATEST MOMENTS" in history DVD. The Jarrett/Hogan thing happened in 2003.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I remember 15 years ago there was a CGI cartoon on in the mornings here in the UK which was actually broadcast live. It featured phone in conversations with viewers, celebrities etc.
It was obviously a case of them had premade animations for various things that they just triggered in real time, but it was still an interesting innovation at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Your masochistic ways must stop for your own sake.

    ReplyDelete
  96. LOL there is literally no reason not to do this.

Also does it bother you that I never offered to hang out with you but offered to hang out with a visitor who was here to punch you? It should.

    ReplyDelete
  97. That's alright. I've felt the sting of rejection before, I can handle it.

    ReplyDelete
  98. If TNA was able to pull off a Jarrett/Hogan match in late 2003, it would've been huge and would've put the company in a very different place. He could still go pretty hard in 2003. By the time he finally got to TNA in 2010 he was in rough shape and badly needed surgeries.

Thank goodness he's in much better shape now. He might not be in 2003 shape, but he says he can still go.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 26, 2014 at 7:35 AM

Background noise while I'm at work. It's what Raw has turned into as well, which is why I have no problems with the show. I "watched" Raw at work yesterday, but I kept forgetting to hit pause when I got called out of my office, so I missed a bunch. What I saw, though, was OK, outside of the stupid laptop at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  100. If they cut 90 minutes out like they do Raw?

    ReplyDelete
  101. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 26, 2014 at 7:36 AM

    Then it's an ABSOLUTE must-see.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yeah, I was just making fun on TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Yeah, so what did happen last night

    ReplyDelete
  104. "Take me down" -- that's sad. People make this stuff personal.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Throughout most of the 00s the majority of PPV names were pretty static.
    Jan-Royal Rumble
Feb- No Way Out (Always preferred this to Elimination Chamber)
    Mar- Wrestlemania
    April- Backlash
    May-Judgement Day
June/July-These two months went through a dozen names
    August- Summerslam
    September - Unforgiven
    October- No Mercy
    November - Survivor Series
    December -Armageddon

    ReplyDelete
  106. I'd say that it's obvious that those names will never be used, due to them being WCW names, but... they did have a few Great American Bashes, which surprised me greatly.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I think I'd want to be Larry in that situation. He had the awesome Jew-fro going on.

    ReplyDelete
  108. They didn't just job out Brown by having him lose Christian's first title defense. They had him lose his shot to Christian in the first place, then jobbed him out again later in said defense.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Yep, then Backlash turned to Extreme rules, BattleGround went from September to around July in 2013-2014, Armageddon is now TLC, February was No Way Out, now it's Elimination Chamber, now might be something road related....

Makes it difficult to remember past events. :)

    ReplyDelete
  110. Really wish that crowd in July 2001 hadn't shit on the (admittedly rubbish) Booker T/Bagwell match and the roster split really would have been WWF and WCW rather than Raw and Smackdown. They probably would have kept some WCW PPV names for that. There may even have been a Starrcade 2001.

    ReplyDelete
  111. So...with that in mind, I shall now call you BTVS. or maybe just Buffy

    ReplyDelete
  112. "FAST LANE, DAMN IT! IT'C CATCHY....ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA!!!!!" - McMahon

    ReplyDelete
  113. On TV, if you have a small reoccurring role, rather than get paid for one day and shoot 7 different scene, you have to come back 7 weeks to shoot one scene each time. They have to pay you the same each way so they might as well films the shows episode by episode.
This is why episodes have stars missing randomly for an episode or two because they can no longer film all the scenes for two episodes not including X one week then all the scenes for the same two episodes which do feature X the week after.

    ReplyDelete
  114. The new GM was revealed at the end of the show anyway, why not simply announced he's going to be revealed at the end of the show. Give me a reason to want to watch till the end of the 3 hour show.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Probably Dixie going through the table. Not that it was, mind you, just that it'll be their pick.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I have a hunch that Mercer/Lowrance interview is going to be fascinating. I hope we get a recap of it here on the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Yeah, I never understood that. They couldn't find a new TV deal for WCW.... Why the hell not use Smackdown? Made a ton of sense.

Also, I don't blame Bagwell AT ALL for that failed segment. The crowd would have booed a 4 star WCW match too I think. They were booing WCW, period.

    ReplyDelete
  118. *hint, hint Bayless!!!*

    ReplyDelete
  119. I'm rather envious. Teachers union sucks balls compared to entertainment unions

    ReplyDelete
  120. It's pretty ridiculous. I've had more than one person here threaten to "take me down", as if typing insults to me is going to hurt me in my real life.

Nothing beats Meekin doing an entire post about "Why you guys so mean to me?", though.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Hogan in 2003 could still wrestle a full match and was coming off a major WWE run.
If they had brought him in as a wrestler in 2003, it could have been a huge thing for them.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Crispin Glover apparently made loads of ridiculous demands to appear in Back To The Future 2 that that the makers of the movie weren’t willing to
grant, so they just got someone else, put loads of make up on him, only filmed
him from a distance and basically just pretended Glover was in the movie. He
sued the shit out of them.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonNovember 26, 2014 at 7:45 AM

I would love it if Destination America put Xplosion on the air and they had some "jobber" matches to help get people over.

    ReplyDelete
  124. You really would have stayed up for it?

    ReplyDelete
  125. Have you noticed how hard it is to buy an actual physical comic book these days?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Both Larry Appleton and Danny Devito had incredible women, WAY above their leagues. They lucked out.

    ReplyDelete
  127. He can still go.

    To hell.

    #consistency

    ReplyDelete
  128. I think it was that Meekin blowup that convinced me to stop lurking and start posting. Everyone was having SO MUCH fun.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I stayed up anyway, because I assumed something must happen. There was appoint where I nearly knocked off early however. If they had given me a decent reason to care about the end of the show then there wouldn't have been a chance of me knocking off early at all.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I didn't even know that. Geeze, it's even worse than I thought!

    ReplyDelete
  131. It'll be the announcement RIGHT THEN AND THERE that they've signed CM Punk. COUNT ON IT.

    ReplyDelete
  132. The main event is insane. The finish is fucking crazy. Just be forewarned, the Big Show vs Cena match is garbage.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Go to Stewart's store. Oh wait, it "accidentally" burned down.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Right. Hogan vs. Michaels at SummerSlam 2005 did the 2nd highest buyrate in SummerSlam history (650k). I'm not saying that a 2003 TNA PPV with Hogan would've done 650k buys too, but it would've been a gamechanger.

    ReplyDelete
  135. It wasn't the right way to do it but Vince didn't neccessarily have to knee-jerk scrap the whole concept though right then and there.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Umanga vs Punk, Rey Mysterio vs Jericho, Edge vs Jeff Hardy, you can't go wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Personally, I still think that the hint of Rollins getting his butt kicked was a good enough hook. Especially with the fans having the "power" to put him in a bad situation.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Yeah, but Arnie had Kelly Preston when she was SUPER hot and less brainwashed.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Wait, was it 4.23 or 4.73 in the first hour, because it says both above? I hope that's a typo, because losing nearly 800,000 viewers in an hour... wow.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I wonder if the Austin/Angle run in was an audible.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Nothing brings people together like having a common target

    ReplyDelete
  142. There's pros and cons. If you're a full time actor, it's great.
But it costs money to join an acting union, most productions won't audition non union actors, so you're out of pocket before you even start, most of their rules hinder part time actors and you need to be an actor before you can join the union.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I was but it was still a great show.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I was in said crowd. It was much more vile in person than on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  145. True, very small thresh hold for health insurance seems nice though. (not sure if that's still the case, but remember that being a reason Funk used to act)

  146. 4.23 was the average overall. 4.73 was the first hour.
Let's not forget there was also the major riots on the news that night which kicked off after the court decision at 9pm. So that would also have had a major impact.

  147. I believe that was always the plan, but I think they thought it would get boos rather than a massive pop.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Well it's normal that Ahnold would have a hotter woman, since he was a greek (austrian) god, and plus his character was honest and noble. But that scheming rat Devito still did pretty darn good for himself.

    ReplyDelete
  149. True, notice the 10pm bump up. WWE the first company brave enough to be airing live in front of audience to help heal the nation.

(Ignoring all the sports that night, much like they would)

    ReplyDelete
  150. Is The USO documentary worth watching?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Or we assume that 700,000 Raw viewers went out and rioted.

    ReplyDelete
  152. That's actually true, even the live thread got "TJ'd" because of it.

    ReplyDelete
  153. "If The Bunny wins we Riot"

    ReplyDelete
  154. Ah, cool. Did you get a main event dark match after that? Or was that literally the last match on the show?

    ReplyDelete
  155. There is a line. I've offered to fight people twice, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  156. ....side thread jack. I'm pretty detached from emotion in general, but am I missing why Ferguson's become a much bigger response than Trevon Martin was? I'm much more disturbed by some random dude shooting some random kid walking home at night than a cop shooting someone that may have robbed a store and possibly charged his car.

I mean, there's a certain expectation of an encounter with a cop compared to some random neighborhood watch asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  157. That is a shoot that I will never see.

    ReplyDelete
  158. That was the biggest FU I've ever seen.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Austin and Angle celebrated in the ring until Lillian Garcia reminded us Smackdown would be taped the folllowing night in Tacoma (where Raw was).

    ReplyDelete
  160. You're right, I read it too fast.

But still... 740,000 drop. And the riots didn't start getting crazy on TV til the 3rd hour, when RAW actually nudged back up in viewers. Be interested to see the quarters, but I'm betting that second 15 minutes of Bryan talking shed viewers like a muthafuggah.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Halloween Havoc will never be used, October was already locked up as Survivor Series. However Starcade could be used as the December show has changed names several times and it doesn't even need to be done in December really.
Bash At The Beach could be done in July, but the rest of the WCW PPVs don't really have much name value.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Government killing people for no reason is worse than people killing people for no reason probably?

    ReplyDelete
  163. I'd be curious as well. Hope not for Bryan's sake. Anyone still promote the quarters? Remember that was a big thing during MNWs

    ReplyDelete
  164. Yeah, I don't wanna have TOO MUCH of an opinion on it, but... is it possible that there might be a SMALL CHANCE that the cop really did defend himself, and the "victim" really was a cop beating thug?? I mean, Rodney King, I totally get... Travyon Martin, I also get... But this one?? I don't know...

    ReplyDelete
  165. The monster hour 1 had to have been a combination of the Authority ending, possible Sting, Daniel Bryan, and letting fans feel good for having a story pay off.

Impossible to have kept it going, especially when there was no tease of Sting showing up for Raw.

Kind of a catch-22 on that. Everybody agrees Sting shouldn't be used liberally, but he helped popped that Raw rating, so what to do with him now? Rafters would be silly, but I feel like he should be around somewhere when "big" events happen.

    ReplyDelete
  166. When did they run a Survivor Series in October?

    ReplyDelete
  167. I explain it a few posts down.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Police Officer shooting a suspect, is a world away from Government killing people for no reason.
I'm sure Obama hasn't passed a new law legalising killing random black kids.

    ReplyDelete
  169. So what you are saying is that them moving to destination America would have an... iMpact!

    ReplyDelete
  170. You know who doesn't like Survivor Series? Jim Crockett

    ReplyDelete
  171. That's kinda what I mean, I'd have no problem with this type of response for Martin, that was some grade A bullshit. But there's enough gray area here to at least have people cool their shit.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Wasn't a random match with Kendall Windham and Dale Torborg one of the highest rated wrestling segments in history?

    ReplyDelete
  173. Well yeah, just the "no reason" was a LOT more apparent in Florida than in Missouri

    ReplyDelete
  174. Not being an American i don't know how expected it was over there, but when we had similarly stupid riots here in the UK a few years ago, we knew it was going to happen and that night long before it properly kicked off many people were watching the news stations.

    ReplyDelete
  175. That shoot looks fascinating as hell. I'm a total Bill Mercer mark, I think he's up there with JR as the best ever. Solie was good, but I never got the crazy fascination with him.

Marc Lowrance's voice has changed a LOT.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Oh you know they pore over those things, with people lining up to claim success or point fingers. If they don't dump it on Bryan then they'll blame Ambrose & Harper. Or claim the riots. HHH & Steph will say it was a mistake to have them leave after 10 minutes, because the audience left with them.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Yes. If you like them.

If you're me, no way in hell.

    ReplyDelete
  178. That does ring a bell. For the most part that much micromanaging is bullshit imo, but I'd bet they're looking for any reason to shunt Bryan back down the card if he makes it back

    ReplyDelete
  179. I wouldn't blame you for wanting to fight Loser when every time he calls you "Hossie Bear."

    ReplyDelete
  180. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcYppAs6ZdI

    ReplyDelete
  181. Part of me would have loved the live reaction, had the cop been found guilty. Tons of would be rioters just going "ahhh...." Then disappointingly walking back home.

    ReplyDelete
  182. That called more for a Caruso "YYYAAAHHHH!!"

    ReplyDelete
  183. Well yeah, that too. Media got what they wanted from it. Fucked up. If they were so concerned about response, don't start leaking weeks ago how many national guard you need to send in. Put it off until a big fucking winter storm is hitting, then just release a written statement. Insane they turned it into a circus

    ReplyDelete
  184. No matter your skin color, if you attack a cop, he will shoot you. The Trevon Martin case was complete and total b.s.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Kinda like OJ. People were scared shitless coming off Rodney King, then he just limps away to golf another day

    ReplyDelete
  186. Unless you promote the matches happening at certain times then the quarterly scores mean nothing.
Do they really think people sat at home use their ESP to figure out that the Kane match has ended and the Ambrose match is about to start so they will switch over from whatever they were watching?

    ReplyDelete
  187. Then they send their reporters in with gas masks to look like heroes.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Well, he has said he is good at killing people. And, that he can bypass the legal process because he has a pen and a phone.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Have you ever been so tired that you start to see double? That's about where I am at.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Exactly. I think rioting in general is pointless. But in that case? I wouldn't have bitched about it.

    ReplyDelete
  191. It would have been pretty easy to have their first match be a draw, do a triple threat with Monty not taking the fall and then you can have him get put out by another heel or have Sting baseball bat the shit out of his knee, since they knew he was going out for surgery instead of killing him dead with the loss.

    ReplyDelete
  192. Well, they needed the masks with all the marijuana smell.
