BoD Daily Update

Roman Reigns Update

As of this past week the plan was still for Reigns to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

Randy Orton Update

Orton has a deviated septum and is going to have surgery to repair that. The recovery time is only a few weeks long. This was the reason Orton only wrestled short matches at this past weekend's house shows and why he was not on RAW this week.

RAW Ratings

RAW had just 3.47 million viewers this past week, among its lowest amount since 1997. Here is the hourly breakdowns:

8pm: 3.17 million
9pm: 3.48 million
10pm: 3.73 million

Gail Kim Update

Although she has not signed a written contract with TNA, Kim is sill with the company on a per appearance deal. She is expected to be at the January TV tapings and appear on the UK tour.

I don't want Reigns vs Lesnar. I want Bryan vs Lesnar.

    God luck WWE in Philly.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I doubt Lesnar is leaving as the champ.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Can't count out HHH

    ReplyDelete
  4. The scene with the confetti popping and Reigns celebrating to only a moderate pop to end WM31 is going to be quite interesting

    ReplyDelete
  5. Brock v Bryan makes SO MUCH SENSE. Too much sense for WWE. I'm now mad at myself for getting excited at the prospect earlier this week. I should've known better.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Lol there you have it, now you can stop fantasy booking Bryan in the title match.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I still don't see it happening. Wiser booking heads will prevail

    ReplyDelete
  8. Never sleep on Barry O

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ratings mean nothing during the holiday period as there are far too many non tv things that affect viewership.

    ReplyDelete
  10. If Reigns is still the plan, I *really* don't understand announcing Daniel Bryan as a possibility for the Rumble match. It's either a swerve and Bryan is going to win it *or* they really think they can pull off some sort of heat transfer, where whoever eliminates Bryan is the guy who Reigns eliminates to win it.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Too lazy to go back and check, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen the 3rd hour have the highest hour rating of any Raw. Pretty obvious it was for the DB segment. But they'll probably say it was because of the unannounced return of the Authority.

    ReplyDelete
  12. True but they had no competition from the NFL. 3.17 for the opening hour is horrendous

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wrestling is so interesting right now that the only thing I come back here for daily is the PTBN music tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I can't believe they don't give DB any credit. The guy main-evented WM30, is the most popular wrestler in the company (BY FAR) and doesn't even get a DVD set.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sexy Flexy Biff KensingtonJanuary 1, 2015 at 9:41 AM

The only way, the only way out for WWE is to have Cena win the title from Lesnar (ugh), and then have Lesnar return in a rage during the Rumble and eliminate people in the ring, including Bryan before being led out by security, leading to Bryan attacking Lesnar and starting that program's build towards WrestleMania. Otherwise, this is going to go very badly for them.

    ReplyDelete
  16. It's funny how Reigns is penciled in to win the belt at WM, but WWE has absolutely no idea what to do with their champion whose contract expires right after WM.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That sounds very good actually. Brock dumps Bryan to ruin his chance for a big moment is a great catalyst for a Lesnar-Bryan WM match. Besides, you just KNOW Vince would love to show Lesnar up on his way out with a loss to the smallest star they have.

    ReplyDelete
  18. (Pictures a senile Vince trying to sell Brock on losing to Torito)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Cena vs. Reigns
    Lesnar vs. Bryan
    HHH vs. Sting
    Orton vs. Rollins

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sexy Flexy Biff KensingtonJanuary 1, 2015 at 9:43 AM

What's funny is that, if Vince does that, he will not only show up his preferred choice for new top babyface in match quality, but will also get Bryan more over in the process. A win over Brock would be a signature career moment for Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 1, 2015 at 9:45 AM

Man, group M was such a tough group to vote from. I initially check off all the stuff I would normally vote for and then weed it down to four from there. If a pop song or hip hop song wins this tournament, it won't be because of me.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh absolutely. I think, even if there isn't a backlash against Reigns during a match with Cena (there probably would not be), it will come back with a vengeance the next night. Once WWE fans know Bryan is back full-time and Reigns is holding *his* belt, they are going to chant for DB during Reigns victory promo and every time after that. And that would be just fine if WWE was willing to listen and have Reigns turn into a monster heel in response

    ReplyDelete
  23. Watching NXT R-Evolution again... damn this little rasslin' show is fun.

    ReplyDelete
  24. In that case, you should be good for the next year and a half.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 1, 2015 at 9:47 AM

If they go through with Reigns-Lesnar, they would be batshit insane to put it on last. So I hope they have a contingency plan in place to send the fans home happy.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think they can survive the night of Wrestlemania 31 with Reigns getting cheered as champ. (That's only if he goes over Cena, not Brock). However, going forward I don't think it matters. As soon as fans know Bryan is truly back, they are going to chant "Dan-iel Bry-an" or "No, No, No" every time Reigns tries to cut a promo or defend the title.

    ReplyDelete
  27. What do they have that can go on last though? Sting vs. HHH is not the WM-ending match they probably thought it was. Anything involving Undertaker is a gamble because the match could be hideous like last year. Cena-Rusev would get shit on even worse in the main event slot. If Reigns-Lesnar was to happen, I don't know what goes on afterward.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would be happy with Bryan/Brock and Cena/Reigns for the title.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 1, 2015 at 9:51 AM

As it draws nearer, I'm sure there will be some nervous people backstage. Especially as they see that Reigns is not ready to be the guy just yet. They got nervous last year, changed it up and added Bryan to the mix, and got a pretty good show out of it.

So we as a collective should probably "let it play out and see where it goes".

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think that's their best option. Cena vs. Reigns, Lesnar vs. Bryan, and HHH vs. Sting. Biff had the best scenario down below: Cena wins the belt back from Lesnar, then Brock interrupts the Rumble match out of spite and dumps Bryan. Insta-feud with Bryan vs. Lesnar, Reigns can still win the Rumble.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Brock would have to be champion to make a matchup with Bryan or Reigns worth anything. Cena/Rusev should have in an attempt to move Rusev to the next level whether he wins or loses. And you still have Rollins and possibly Orton in the mix. If you're paying the $9.99/month, any combination of the above is worth it.

  33. I just want to echo the sentiment that the NXT guys should be showcased in the Royal Rumble match. I'm sure we can live without the Great Khali and 3MB appearances for one year. Let the Zayn-Owens blood feud spill over into the Rumble match, give Neville and/or Balor their entrances, etc. Showcase the stuff that makes people say, "I want to check out that other show".

    ReplyDelete
  34. They can always just feed someone to Rusev (Ryback? Ziggler?) at Wrestlemania and save the Cena feud for after WM31.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Agreed, though would they risk having the NXT guys outshine the main roster guys wrestling their style.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I wouldn't necessarily have Zayn, Balor, etc last 40 minutes or anything. Just long enough to make them interesting and let the announcers act like they are a big deal and worth checking out on the Network. The Ascension should debut there as well. The Rumble match is basically one big advertisement/showcase for entrances and brief performances anyway. Perfect to generate some interest in their NXT show

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think Rusev/Ryback will be resolved before WM. And didn't Ziggler already put Rusev over clean? A matchup with Cena is good all around and it's Rusev's chance to show up he can be a top tier guy.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Orton in a Cody Rhodes mask or GTFO

    ReplyDelete
  39. Know what I would open Wrestlemania with this year? Charlotte vs. Natalya for the Divas title. Play it up like a huge deal that the women have never opened Mania, have Charlotte escorted out by Ric Flair for a "Wrestlemania Moment" and put Charlotte over as the new standard-bearer for women's wrestling on the biggest stage.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Zayn is so ready. I'm looking forward to his bump-up.

    ReplyDelete
  41. If they want to grow some massive balls overnight, WWE should have Zayn be the guy who finally overcomes Rusev...in his debut match or something.

    ReplyDelete
  42. A la Tazz handing Kurt Angle his first loss? I like it, though they would never pulled the trigger on it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. They really want this WrestleMania to bomb, don't they?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yup probably even when it is confirmed that Reigns will be in the match.

    ReplyDelete
  45. No way they would do it, but it also makes Zayn the new US champion in his debut and gives that belt a little value that it hasn't had forever. Then do a Zayn-Ziggler program to unify the secondary belts or something. You are right about Zayn being ready, so make him a big deal right away. We don't need to spend six months with him beating Justin Gabriel and losing to Jack Swagger.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sadly we will probably get a Bella match instead.

    ReplyDelete
  47. WWE Title: Lesnar vs. Bryan
    Triple H vs. Sting
    Rollins vs. Orton
    Rusev vs. LOLCenaWins
    Sheamus vs. Reigns
    Intercontinental Title: Dolph vs. ????
    Ambrose vs. ???
    Wyatt vs. Undertaker

    ReplyDelete
  48. Rusev beating Ziggler to unify the US/IC Titles would be fine. Maybe feed Cesaro to Rusev, just for the sake of a good match.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Dicks? YOU GOT EM!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well, we can all look forward to a **1/2 main event at Mania. The Roman Empire begins!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Still a better commenter than abeyance.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Probably so. I also like having the divas open the show because in ANY other spot on the card, Charlotte's moment is the requisite "bathroom break" cool-down match that fans have been conditioned for. Putting it out there first avoids that and hopefully gives them a hot crowd for the big Charlotte/Flair celebration moment.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well clearly it's Daniel Bryan's fau-wait

    ReplyDelete
  54. Maybe Orton vs. Sheamus, with both guys as tweeners? That leaves Reigns vs. Ambrose vs. Rollins, maybe put the MITB briefcase above a ladder or something?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I hope they don't stick him with a character gimmick like Adrian Neville is rumored to.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Does anyone think the Zayn vs. Owens NXT title feud gets a chance on the Wrestlemania 31 card?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'd like to see Ziggler VS Rollins at WrestleMania. Seems pretty easy to set up, Zigs is PO'd at Rollins because he made Cena bring back the Authority after he risked his job to get rid of them.

    ReplyDelete
  58. This may have been discussed in the raw thread, but why announce ahead of time that Bryan is in the rumble? The pop would've been gigantic when his music hit as a surprise.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Wait! She works 2o h0urs?! That's amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Two Night Stand wasn't that good. There's a lot to like about but it falls apart in the last 20 minutes when they have to use the rom com cliches that I hate the most.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Cause they want people to order it

    ReplyDelete
  62. By WWE logic, they probably think that by announcing it early (like with Batista last year), Bryan will get shit on and the crowd will be FORCED to embrace Roman Reigns! smh

    ReplyDelete
  63. Because they don't even believe people will watch the Rumble anymore I guess, and have to announce the surprises to get every viewer.

    ReplyDelete
  64. The Wedding Ringer looks like it will be an absolutely terrible film.

    ReplyDelete
  65. They probably figure that leaking Sting's involvement in Survivor Series helped that show's numbers, so why not try it with Bryan & Royal Rumble

    ReplyDelete
  66. Any wedding film not called "Wedding Crashers" fits that criteria.

    ReplyDelete
  67. That was suppose to be a world title feud years ago. I thought about a Shield triple threat. Ziggler is, unfortunately, the odd man out.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Wedding Crashers was pretty terrible too

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wouldn't surprise me if they did something like pull off some sort of injury angle with Bryan and then have Reigns be the one to avenge him, with the hope that they'll be able to get Reigns mega over by sacrificing Bryan to Lesnar.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Just watching some old Steiner Bros clips and I didn't even remember Scott doing that backflip powerslam thing. It often doesn't look that good, but still, damn. That guy was such a beast.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Ziggler vs. Wyatt. Leave Taker home.

    ReplyDelete
  72. It would put some prestige on the IC title.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Dear god is Philly going to shit on that. Reigns just isn't that over. The moment Cena wins the belt the fans are going to realize Bryan isn't winning the Rumble, and they will boo like crazy when Bryan is eliminated, and not stop when Reigns wins. Unless they put the title match last, then fans are gonna boo when Reigns wins the Rumble, and boo again when Cena wins the belt. Everyone's going to see it as them handing the belt to the Chosen One™ Reigns, and 16 Time World Champion™ Cena trying to give him the rub.

Meanwhile it also guarantees Bryan will be nowhere near the title for at least 3 months.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I honestly don't understand how they think Reigns will be ready. He's a terrible talker and has about four moves including his two finishers. I guarantee a match against Lesnar would bomb and I don't think Cena could get much out of him.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I thought about it, but it might be a clash of styles. But maybe not.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Shot in the dark, but is anyone here going to the UFC Saturday at the MGM Grand? If so, I could use your help with something.

    ReplyDelete
  77. So Steph and HHH can ban him from the match Monday when they're rambling for the first hour?

    ReplyDelete
  78. From the company that wants to make Roman Reigns champion? No.

    ReplyDelete
  79. It's kinda like they're doing a universe reboot. Like something out of DC Comics. But, instead of Batista, Reigns is around playing the part of Muscle head, and Bryan is returning. They even have the authority back in place. So long as they don't de-age everyone and give they goofier looking gear, I'm fine with this reboot.

Also, in this universe, the anonymous GM only lasted a week.

    ReplyDelete
  80. In 1991, Scotty had it all. WCW was hinting at a singles push for him back then, but he got hurt and teamed with Rick for years when he got back. The BIg Poppa Pump run was good, but Steiner should have achieved major greatness years before.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Reigns is handling the goofy gear quotient. Looks like shit with the silver edging

    ReplyDelete
  82. Damnit! They rebooted his gear DC-style!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I just recently watched a Clash where he fought Flair for the title. The feud was a bit out of nowhere but they clearly wanted Scott to be a big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Reigns isn't even close to ready to main eventing a WrestleMania. Of all the Shield members, he's the heir apparent but also the one I want to see the least. Go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Have you seen reigns gear? Looks like the kiddie costume version of the shield gear.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Maybe in the NEW WWE Vince decides to back DBry since pre-Rumble?

    ReplyDelete
  87. I was looking forward to seeing Reigns too. But then I got to see Rollins and Ambrose played like clowns for 5 months, and the shine is off the car now.

    ReplyDelete

  89. Steiner was the man. He hit that shit in Sid in 1989. Crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Couple wrestling GM ideas that haven't been done: 1) you have a face GM who gets corrupted by the power; 2) you have a poor GM that will take bribes because he needs the cash.

    ReplyDelete
  91. If you're going to kneecap Jon Jones, don't bother. I wanna see Cormier kill him.

    ReplyDelete
  92. didn't they do that last year with Rusev?

    ReplyDelete
  93. Who caused the Reboot of WWE Universe? In DC, Flash went back and saved his mom, Superboy punched the wall between his pocket universe and the DC universe to change reality.

Did Orton slam the mat too hard and fractured reality?!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I loved JBLs title run. I think that I'm the only one, but I did.

    ReplyDelete
  98. The difference between the 2 reboots is Superboy Prime was meant to be a goofy tongue-in-cheek callback to retcon a few deaths while the New52 is a terrible idea that never should have fucking happened and fuck Dan DiDio.

And I think NeWWE was caused by Cena RISING AGAINST reality cause that's the only logical thing...or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hey you, start talking in sentences not links!

    ReplyDelete
  100. You don't suppose they'll have Cena beat Lesnar for the title, only to have Rollins cash in the briefcase on him? Then at Fast Lane, Cena vs. Rollins, and Rusev interferes for... some reason, setting up Cena/Rusev and Rollins/Reigns at Mania.

Ah, all these scenarios suck. Anything that isn't Bryan/Lesnar for the belt at Mania is gonna suck balls.

    ReplyDelete
  101. The only gma angle I would be interested in now would be one played as a complete joke. Have a gm make a decision, only to have a commissioner overturn it. Then have the championship committee get involved and board of directors. Then have the president get in an argument with Jack tunney jr.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Well I could deal with one that is just neutral just to make matches out of the wrestlers issues. I guess pretty much wishing Teddy Long would be brought back if a GM is needed.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I don't even want to speculate anymore until Brock's contract is sorted. There's no way we get close to Mania without it being decided one way or the other, so until then, it's hard to know where they'll put everybody.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Mitch, The GodfatherJanuary 1, 2015 at 10:34 AM

I wonder will he be fully healed by then. That's my only concern.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Jiim Lee piping. All it needs is a collar...

    ReplyDelete
  108. Then you have Obama circumventing the US Constitution only to get outmaneuvered by Vince McMahon, because WWE. Never sleep on Barry O.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Honestly can't believe I've missed this. Does Cena get a stupid popped collar on his next T-shirt?

    ReplyDelete
  110. You know, hear an Authority angle that hasn't been tried in forever...

    * Bob Geigel strips Magnum TA of US Title, setting up a best of 7 for the title with Nikita Koloff.

That is, an authority figure that is a story device to set up wrestling matches.

    ReplyDelete
  111. And even if Reigns was decent at everything, the fact remains that fans think Daniel Bryan is coming back. So everything Reigns does as champion is going to be greeted with "Dan-iel Bry-An" and "No, No, No" chants

    ReplyDelete
  112. Yeah, he legitimately could have had runs on top of WCW *AND* WWF when that still meant something. But he wanted to tag with his brother instead.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Supposedly he is. Found a doctor that did some kind of procedure that avoided the Tommy John surgery (and lengthy layoff that comes with it).

    ReplyDelete
  114. I stand corrected. Classic oversight

    ReplyDelete
  115. And, if we going to double down on ideas, how about a booking committee? Not an invisible booking committee, but a real booking committee of old timey wrestlers. I'd say Ken Patera, Kamala and Bob Backlund would fit the bill.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Yeah, he debuted there. Good use for him too, IMO

    ReplyDelete
  117. OH FUCK YEAH!

FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE IS ON!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Ric Flair, Arn Anderson to keep him honest, Pat Patterson, maybe Regal?

    ReplyDelete
  119. The character was great, the matches were awful.

    ReplyDelete
  120. It doesn't matter what you want!

    ReplyDelete
  121. The character was fine, but I think it would have been just fine with JBL as U.S. Champion instead of WWE champ. Angle putting over Cena at Mania 21 would have been preferable, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Oh god... you don't suppose they'll have the Authority rule that Bryan isn't "medically cleared" to be in the Rumble, so Bryan gives his endorsement to Reigns? "Hey man, go in there and win it--earn the main event at WrestleMania. Then somewhere down the road you and me can tear the house down!" *bump fists* "Believe that!"

Kinda nauseous just thinking about it.

    ReplyDelete
  123. He rose from lower midcard to main event so fast it was hard to take him seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  124. So Reigns wins the title then what? The same problems exist...

    ReplyDelete
  125. I blame Geoff Johns and Jim Lee, too. The latter doesn't get enough shit thrown his way. Yes, he's a fantastic artist and a legend but I feel like a lot of this 90s-esque garbage in the New 52 is his creative influence.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Yeah, that was the thing. It was still the guy who was a perpetual low-midcarder and tag team guy all of a sudden becoming a world title contender.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Vince, is that you?

    ReplyDelete
  128. I think regardless of his contract, WWE is going to pull the belt off him. I'm sure the belt not being defended on TV is one if the many things they blame the sagging ratings on.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Reigns vs. Kane... Reigns vs. Big Show... Reigns vs. Orton... loses the belt to Cena due to massive drop in business...

    ReplyDelete
  130. Unless the crowd completely hijacks like last year, y'all probably ain't going to be happy with what you get.

    ReplyDelete
  131. If/when it gets bad enough, I would turn Roman mid-title reign due to getting irrate over "Daniel Bryan" chants ruining everything he does. He can become obsessed with ending Bryan then you at least have a way to adapt mid-stream without shit-canning Reigns' whole push.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Reigns vs. Rollins.........

    ReplyDelete
  133. There is a chance for WWE to build a HUGE heel if they have Bryan get tossed out by someone i the Rumble. Cesaro would be perfect for that spot and have him join the Authority. With our luck though, it'll be Sheamus.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Reigns may well turn out well, but forcing the issue now could ruin him. Surely beating Rusev and giving him a long US title run is surely a better idea.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Vince will probably say it's the biggest match in WM history.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I think it's reached the point where heat would be on WWE rather than an individual.

    ReplyDelete
  137. IDK, whoever tosses Bryan would get huge boos at future shows and even Mania if it leads to a match.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 1, 2015 at 10:58 AM

Sheamus is due for a heel turn. Sheamus gets heat by eliminating Bryan.

Things change on the fly with this gang all the time.

    Let it play out.....

    ReplyDelete
  139. His being in the rumble motivated to resubscribe to the network. I can't be the only one who made that decision.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Heel Sheamus vs. Bryan at Mania wouldn't be the worst thing.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 1, 2015 at 10:59 AM

    Don't tell anyone here that.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Sheamus would have justification given how things turned out post-18 seconds. It'd be a fun angle.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Hell, has Rey officially signed elsewhere? Have Rey sneak in an eliminate Bryan, playing off last year, and watch people boo Rey out of the building.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I like Sheamus. He is a very underrated guy. He always has solid matches.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM

One of the best matches of 2012 was Sheamus vs. Bryan 2/3 Falls.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I'm convinced anything short of Bryan/Lesnar or Bryan vs. whoever for the title will be completely shit on.

    ReplyDelete
  147. That was a VERY good match that got lost behind Lesnar/Cena. Easy ****1/2 or higher.

    ReplyDelete
  148. He wrestles well. His character is terrible. I cannot stand the man.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Reigns seems to be getting fine reactions. If Bryan gets tossed by Sheamus, it might deflect the heat onto Sheamus instead of Reigns getting booed for winning the Rumble. Plus, if it happens 20 minutes before the end of the Rumble, people may just forget about it.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Would benefit from a heel turn enormously.

    ReplyDelete
  151. The Rey rumors have been odd. First there was word he'd decided to come back to WWE and finish his career there, then that hit a snag or somebody changed their mind or something.

    ReplyDelete
  152. It's pretty ironic that last year Reigns was the person the rebellers got behind in the Rumble match when it came down to he and Batista.

    ReplyDelete
  153. It's like if Kofi Kingston suddenly turned heel and was immediately given a world title shot today.

    ReplyDelete
  154. The thing with Bryan is the company jerked him (and the fans) around so long that doing something like that wouldn't get heel heat, it'd get "fuck you, WWE!" heat. Sadly I think the company *still* can't tell the difference.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Reigns reactions are okay, but now you're adding Bryan back into the mix. Reigns isn't over enough for a hijacking not to occur.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Bingo. Same as the fans booing Mysterio last year. They weren't booing Rey, they were booing the company.

Maybe the company wants that? Maybe fucking over Bryan at the Rumble is their new Montreal Screwjob?

    ReplyDelete
  157. Reigns reactions really aren't okay, not for someone on the Road to Wrestlemania. Compare them to Austin 98, Rock 2000, Bryan 2013, even Brock 2003 and Benoit 2004. They're nothing compared to those reactions, nothing at all.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I think you could have plugged quite a few people in that spot and they would have gotten cheered over Batista. I'm sure guys like Dolph, Bray, Cesaro and the like would have gotten the same cheers at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Where do you put that match on the card? Looking at all the other prospective matches, Bryan/Sheamus feels like the show opener. From main event to curtain jerker? Ouch.

2012 was a really solid year for work rate.

What if Reigns beat Lesnar with the Worm?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Win me over, it would.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Being fair, Reigns does have supporters. He is popular, supposedly sells a ton of merch. WWE swears his Superstar of the Year Slammy win was legit. But he's only got that John Cena type support right now, where kids and girls love him, and guys are like "eh." They could book him in such a way--build him up slowly--so that he builds a broad fanbase. But instead they seem intent on shoving him down our throats, and fans are gonna turn on him just like they did Cena years ago. The last thing this company needs for long-term security is another Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  164. That match had zero heat on RAW this past Monday. Not a good sign.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Reigns beating Cena could very well elevate him and get the crowd to not turn on him too.

Mm, New Year's Day is a good day for a sports fan. Woke up to take my brother to work, caught some of the Tournament of Roses parade... Now sitting down with turkey and sweet potato casserole to watch the Winter Classic, then the Rose Bowl, and finally the Sugar Bowl.

    Good times.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Cena is probably the only guy in the running Reigns could beat for the title that the fans won't openly shit on.

Against Lesnar he'd get booed, and if this comes with sacrificing Bryan, well good luck with that.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Push Daniel Bryan, you fucking idiots!

    *takes a deep breath*

I'll only approve Orton's return if he's coked up like in the weeks before his absence.

    Don't give a fuck.

  170. Almost time. Wooooo.

    Happy New Years!

    ReplyDelete
  171. I just can't see it. The only ones who'd cheer Reigns beating Cena are smarky fans who'd recognize Reigns is becoming the next Cena. Best case scenario is a heatless match. The most over guy would be Rollins if he chose then to cash in and won.

  173. Ah no. I want to see Bones put his fist through Cormier's fat head, but that's not why I'm asking.

    ReplyDelete
  174. His character sucks and they booked him terribly In 2012 to the point it killed his overness.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Lots of good matches.

  176. Why do NHL fans have such an inferiority complex towards the NBA?

  177. They have one in general.

I reckon that the majority view hockey as a niche sport and last when it comes to popularity of the four major sports leagues. The game of hockey is very beautiful but it feels like most hockey fans say to fans of the other leagues, "You have to watch this. Why aren't you watchng this? It's so awesome." Seems to happy mainly during the playoffs which I admit I like better than the NBA or MLB most times. Could use the same rationale for soccer.

12 Days of Attitude ends on the Network today.

They uploaded the RAW from 4/17/00 where Jericho "beats" Triple H for the title.

  182. It's been a smashing day of English Premier League, I'll tell you that.

    ReplyDelete
  183. So the only thing I've watched in 2 months is Survivor Series. Let me get this straight - Bryan is entering the Royal Rumble nicely setting up Bryan vs. Brock in the ultimate David vs. Goliath, heel vs. face showdown. But . . . they are going with Roman Reigns instead. Glad I'm not watching. Reigns needs turned heel immediately and needs to take part in an IC title rehab project until both him and that belt are back over and THEN push him into the main event.
