Comments

  1. Bout damn time Bayless. You've lost it almost as bad as Vince has!

    ReplyDelete
  2. WWE 24 is really good. Dat piano theme..

    ReplyDelete
  3. Watching Royal Rumble 1993. Steiners really shouldn't be selling for these goof Beverley Brothers. Bumrush, Suplex, Steinerline, Frankensteiner, home.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Rick Steiner just demolished one of these goofs with a German that would make Brock smile.

    ReplyDelete
  5. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:30 PM

Piano theme was real good. It took them almost a full year to roll that out? That drummed up some drama around taker

    ReplyDelete
  6. Connor and Warrior, though?! Trying to make fans well up.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I've been kinda half following the Deflate-gate thing. Is anyone else waiting for Vince to take the hood off and say it was him all along?

    ReplyDelete
  8. For as illogical as Vince being the Higher Power was I'll always be thankful for it giving us that classic moment.

Also you're a stronger man than I following that horse manure.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Scotty's frankensteiner is nasty. It's like half DDT.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Can't have been Vince, he's too busy deflating his crowds.

  12. All that I have seen is because it couldn't be avoided. like the gym etc. I have not turned on the tv at home all week. I mean literally have not turned it on to watch anything.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Brock Lesnar is the product of an incestious love affair between Rick and Scott Steiner.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Scott would be awesome as a Tough Enough trainer.

    ReplyDelete
  15. THE NEEDLE GOES HERE FAT ASS

    ReplyDelete
  16. Anyone watching the WWE24? It's actually pretty awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  17. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:38 PM

Watched it last night. Was pretty good. Loved the austin/hogan/Rock stuff

    ReplyDelete
  18. Why did Rock need a special hand shake with Austin? Thought that was weird.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hogan rehearsing his lines cracked me up.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:39 PM

Lightning/Hurricanes? Yeah, that'll put asses in the seats.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Austin and Scotty as trainers would be the greatest form of entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah. Kinda awkward.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anybody else completely dejected that RAW ratings and Network subs are up after the Rumble debacle? Guess there really is no such thing as bad publicity...

    ReplyDelete
  24. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/fighting/lr41qs/picture2699274/ALTERNATES/FREE_960/WWE%20NXT%20Kevin%20Steen%20Oct.%202014%200%2000%2000-01.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  25. That torrid affair had to involve Shawn Michaels because Brock sure didn't learn to bump from the Steiners.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Because they're buddies and buddies have secret hand shakes.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If they're such good buddies why did Rock have to teach him it?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm more mad that people here started to accept Reigns after his mediocre promo. The Network numbers should have surpassed 1 million worldwide months ago and I think it's laughable that this is good news at this point. And I seriously doubt that they went to 1 million overnight--they were sitting on this for a week or so and decided to release it in response to the bad news.

    ReplyDelete
  29. HEAT BETWEEN ROCK AND AUSTIN CONFIRMED

    ReplyDelete
  30. I still got it *clap *clap* *clap * * clap * *clap *

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sexy Flexy Biff KensingtonJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:42 PM

Not really; I still hold onto some modicum of hope that things are going to evolve between now and WrestleMania. (Mostly because January to May is the best wrestling we get all year, sans a brief window between Money in the Bank and Summerslam).

    ReplyDelete
  32. No I'm not dejected. I'm completely emotionally detached from current WWE right now.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Austin forgets things in his old age.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:43 PM

I expect those network numbers to plummet in a about a month. I mean, if you ordered it for the Rumble and are disgusted, why cancel now? Might as well watch old PPVs and Nitros for a month.

Plus it just got added to the U.K., I bet that represents the majority of the increase.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The Mr. Perfect comparison is there. But I get Shawn at Summerslam 2005 vibes from Brock sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You never lost it baybay!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sexy Flexy Biff KensingtonJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:43 PM

"I'm more mad that people here started to accept Reigns after his mediocre promo."

That's... I don't mean to be rude, but that sounds less like "I don't like the direction of the WWE" and more like "I don't like Roman Reigns". Just because you thought his promo was mediocre doesn't mean everyone else did.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:44 PM

    Or he was drunk.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Looks like TNA is going back to the Impact Zone for Feb-April. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have some hope that things will pick up towards Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sexy Flexy Biff KensingtonJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:44 PM

Eight years ago, it would have. Both teams were still good at that point.

    ReplyDelete
  42. He's not Ric Flair.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh crap. I totally forgot about Wyatt's entrance.

    ReplyDelete
  44. EVERYBODY KNOW-WANTS TO KNOW HOW TO BECOME A WWE SUPERSTAR

    ReplyDelete
  45. WWF1987 criticizing TNA. The end times are nigh.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:45 PM

So apparently Marshawn Lynch has a strain of medical cannabis named after him. Supposedly really good shit too.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't like that they are taping months and months of shows ahead of their air dates.

    ReplyDelete
  48. If nothing else, that show entered two entrances into the pantheon of all time great entrances. Those being Bray and HHH's.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm just frustrated in general--I don't mean to be attacking fellow posters here on this point. I blame WWE's direction by-and-large, but I also blame Reigns more than most here do. I was just a little surprised that folks suddenly were coming around on Reigns after all of one segment last night.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I watched Survivor Series 1992 last night. What's everyone's thoughts on Shawn/Bret from that show. I didn't think it was that good. I was disappointed because I'd heard great things about it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Tonight, in the "Same Shit, Different Pile" department...

Word coming out of the Royal Rumble this week is that plans for Sheamus vs. Bryan III at WrestleMania are back on for this year's event in Santa Clara.

My aunt used to live in Raleigh, and she didn't know for years that they even had a hockey team until my mom told her.

The NHL needs to cut 4 teams, them, the Panthers, the Coyotes, and someone else. Devils maybe? The NYC area does not need 3 teams.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sexy Flexy Biff KensingtonJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:48 PM

I can't speak to others, only myself. I think that, generally speaking, I was a mild Reigns apologist in December and early January, then kind of gave up hope and really wanted him not to win on Sunday. But when he did win, I became indifferent to him while saving my anger for the WWE-proper.

Monday night wasn't some sort of cathartic experience for me or anything, but the promo was the first real-sounding thing Roman has done as a solo act. It was a pretty good line and to me represented what could be if the guy works at it (and Creative manages not to fuck him up worse than they already have).

    ReplyDelete
  54. He's bout that action boss.

    ReplyDelete
  55. one thought for bryan at wrestlemania: vs big show. He was against him when he first won the whc but now he is ass-kicker bryan not chicken shit bryan

    ReplyDelete
  56. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:50 PM

I came around a bit, I definitely didn't "yeah, okay, he should be main eventing WM" come around.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I saw the video someone posted of his face to face promo with Brock. Roman wasn't great but it was the best he's sounded since becoming a singles guy. Keeping it simple. "I'm going to beat you. You don't respect me? You will" Simple shit.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:50 PM

He was drinking at the show!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Haven't seen it in a while, but I remember it being a decent match but it's not great as Shawn is still developing his singles style and hasn't really got a definite finisher.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Sexy Flexy Biff KensingtonJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:51 PM

Yeah. It caught my attention, and I wasn't even really listening to the promo all that much, because it didn't suck. That's not a ringing endorsement, when something gets noticed because it isn't bad for a change obviously. But for Reigns it's at least a step in the right direction.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:52 PM

And he can't even smoke it...

    ReplyDelete
  62. but he did say "thanks for asking"

  63. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:52 PM

Yeah, there's a long thread down the page discussing it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. The 12 year old mark in me was bored in 92. I wasn't ready for them main eventing a show

    ReplyDelete
  65. Not a bad idea, but it'd just be a pale imitation of the epic David and Goliath battle he could have had with Brock.

I like it. A little difficult to watch because he wasn't the GOAT yet.

    ReplyDelete
  68. They did small stuff in that promo that they should've been doing for a while.

Heyman puts him over big time on the mic. And Roman doesn't respond with a smile or joke. He turns and looks Brock "Fucking" Lesnar right in the eyes and tells him that he's going to beat him and take his title. Oh and if he doesn't he will at least take a chunk of Brock with him. Then Brock explodes to his feet to spook Roman and Roman doesn't budge an inch.

Whoever wrote that segment should keep doing that and Heyman interacting with Roman will no doubt help him too.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Cause austin is a redneck

    ReplyDelete
  70. so if reigns is winning at the belt at wm, what will happen with rollins's mitb?

    ReplyDelete

  73. I got to see Flair crying on camera AGAIN. Is there anything that doesn't make that guy cry? All Charlotte did was hold a headpiece during an intro. I laugh even more today at Xpac's awesome horseman spoof with the squirting eyes and big nose.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:56 PM

It's okay, but nothing special. Shawn didn't really have the credibility as a challenger there. Then again, Bret didn't really have the credibility as the champ, either.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'd like to see an angle where time starts to run out as MitB approaches, with Rollins getting more and more paranoid as his opportunities run out.

    ReplyDelete
  76. This is game. Guess if this is a real Scott Steiner promo or something I just made up:

  77. Patriots cheat and they will get away with it agsin. It's bullshit

    ReplyDelete
  78. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 5:58 PM

I'd rather see him against Rollins for the case.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Subs were up for the Rumble: most cancellations can still be considered subscribers until the month they've paid for ends, so whether 500 or 500,000 #CancelWWENetwork, they could still claim 1M (the Torch estimated 1,001,470). I guess they didn't come out with the press release yesterday due to the weather or international numbers.

As for TV, yeah, mainstream news coverage and Twitter might have gotten people's interest, as would replaying 2 PPV matches (including the Rumble). With football now over and Wrestlemania season kicking in, the numbers "should" have gone up anyway. Still a good number, particularly for a different kind of show, but there also was no undercard: it was a replay of the two big matches and interviews with the top stars.

    ReplyDelete
  80. It felt similar to their Iron Man Match for the first half. A lot of it is arm work by Bret that's completely ignored and has no bearing on the match.

Shawn's offense was still growing. He wasn't out of place in that spot and he had the mannerisms down and playing to the crowd but overall it wasn't much.

In my mind Shawn and Bret are one of those duos that should have had classics every time they met but they could never attain it.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Austin has gone through more beers in the middle of PPV main events. He don't get drunk.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 6:00 PM

I'm gonna go with you, but only because "freaks" was only mentioned once.

    ReplyDelete
  83. So WWE's stock is up 20%, they have 1 million Network subscribers, and RAW's ratings were up.

It appears that the more spectacularly wrong they get it, the more money they make.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm on board with that idea. Give Bryan and Rollins 30 minutes to tear the Bay Area to the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  85. He just didn't want to get fined.

    ReplyDelete
  86. So you want to see Bryan in a shitty match?

    ReplyDelete
  92. epic Steiner promo

    ReplyDelete
  93. One issue I have with the authority is that really one "new" guy (rollins) is getting the rub. Kane and big show should be retired and orton has been on top for a decade.
if you remember the corporation, they had several new guys getting it (rock, shamrock, big show, test). If the authority had 2-3 more new guys getting a rub, this group would be much better.

    ReplyDelete
  94. As lithe as Bubba could be, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Law of averages says that since the last one was real this should be fake.....but I'm gonna say real.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  100. There should absolutely be two different guys in Kane & Show's spots.

    ReplyDelete
  101. logical feud (against authority guy). HHH can say that if bryan can beat show at wrestlemania, he would get the chance to regain the title he never lost.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  103. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 27, 2015 at 6:06 PM

That whole thing is such horseshit. He doesn't want to talk to the media, and no amount of fines are suddenly going to turn him into Paul Heyman when he's in front of a mic, leave the fucking guy alone. It's not like there's ever been a single insightful or interesting question or answer in the whole history of sports during a post game press conference anyway. At least from a player, coach meltdowns are always great.

    ReplyDelete
  104. That's the great thing about this new game. You can type any bugfuck bonkers paragraph you want, real or not.

  135. So TNA will be taping 7 weeks of Impact at the Impact Zone in February that will run mid March through the end of April.

Just out of curiosity, what can a wrestling company do these days to make sure two month old tapings could remain fresh? I know they were able to keep the Feast or Fired results quiet until they aired.

Yeah. The problem is my telecenetic (I know I'm spelling that wrong) abilities are limited to flipping coins, and it only works with American coins post whenever they stopped making them out of silver, so outside of a one time party trick it's pretty useless. And I can only just flip it, can't even influence the outcome.

  152. Rebook! Razor wins the title here at 1993 Rumble and Hogan wins the Rumble Match as a surprise entrant. Hogan takes the title at WrestleMania IX fair and square.

I don't even get that channel, yet I have an app that gets it.

They're going up then, I saw the first couple episodes were doing about 12k.

  156. So Brazzers is Team Bryan, because I suppose they'd know better than most when someone is getting fucked:

They recently added it to my cable. I mean, I don't get it, but I could if I wanted to pay for it.

  158. Eh. They've been at the 30k number for a month or more now. There were even rumors of it being cancelled after its initial run.

  159. Heel turns! Heel turns for everyone. Except the heels, who will turn babyface so they can turn heel during the next big taping cycle.

  160. Agreed. Especially since El Rey/UniMas is in more households than Impact Wrestling and Impact gets 20x the ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Even going from 12k to 30k cannot be enough to keep it going.

Not surprising, WSX got cancelled halfway through its first season, and that was on a network everyone gets.

So far I've only seen the pilot and the AW match, so I'll have to catch up on it eventually.

  164. That's... Odd.

I saw a DVD for that once in a used DVD store, should have bought it.

  166. WWE puts out a RAW taped from inside of a studio and gets 4 million+ viewers. Lucha Underground puts out solid wrestling and gets 30,000. It's sad.

No. When your free show is doing TNA PPV numbers you're in big trouble.

  168. Hopefully Brazzers is also Team Bellas.

No you shouldn't have, WSX sucked ass.

It should be based on quality, not quantity.

  171. Trying to find that video where Steiner calls a diva a fucking cunt on Raw.

    ReplyDelete
  172. He also asked Jackie Gayda "You gonna suck my dick or what?"

  173. Anyone listen to the Austin podcast yet? Got it fired up right now.

I occurred to me earlier while watching the 3 way that last night was the first time I recorded Raw since like 1998.

Another thing about Lucha Underground, their Title looks like the WWE tag titles. The only difference is that instead of it looking like a giant penny, it looks like a really cool Aztec coin.

  179. Solution to WWE's problems. Have Reigns come out on next week's Raw and say he doesn't want to wait until WM to fight Lesnar. Lesnar comes out and says he will meet him at fast lane (Yes its worth the 1.5 million to pay Lesnar for an extra PPV to fix the WM mess.) Have Lesnar win clean. At the same time hold a new tournament for the new #1 contender at WM. Have the tournament conclude at Fast Lane, and have Bryan win so WM is now Lesnar vs Bryan. Reigns can fight Rusev at WM or something.

  180. Ten minutes in he's talking about how people don't hold the door open for people behind them. It's actually hilarious.
