RAW is canceled tonight?

Apparently snowstorms have shut down the highways in Connecticut and RAW might be in jeopardy.  Way to go, Roman Reigns!

  1. I think this is God's way of telling Vince that the Royal Rumble was dogshit.

  3. Vinny Mac may have caught a break with this. Now they can just run 3 hours of
Roman Reigns promotional package videos to show how AWESOME he is and
hope the crowds next week will forget and/or not be affected by the
    Rumble disaster.

  5. Maybe it's just me, but this is not a good way to kick off the Roman Empire. In ancient China, bad weather was taken as a sign of disfavor with the imperial regime.

Best thing to happen to the WWE. The timing eliminates further immediate backlash from last night and gives them a week to spin things in their favor some more.

  7. Already snowing here in nyc

  8. are we sure this is the real scott keith posting this?

My office is preparing to be shut down for the next day and a half.

  11. This company didn't cancel a show when one of their own wrestlers fell from an arena ceiling to his death...

    ReplyDelete
  12. God is a Daniel Bryan fan

    ReplyDelete
  13. Though seriously be safe everyone

    ReplyDelete
  14. That's because the fans could still get to the arena that day.

    ReplyDelete
  15. This is the best thing to happen for Vince. It gives the WWE a week to recover from the RR backlash and hope that the fans won't remember it.

Cancelled due to lack of interest

    ReplyDelete
  17. I still say the Authority opens with a huge 20 minute promo, even if to an empty arena. WWE will call it the most favorable reaction they've ever gotten.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This NEVER would've happened if Vince would just LISTEN TO THE GODDAMN FANS and put the title back on Bryan!!!!

    Right...?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Does this mean that technically Reigns doesn't draw a dime?

    ReplyDelete
  20. And it's official:

    http://411mania.com/wrestling/connecticut-travel-ban-could-be-bad-news-for-tonights-raw/

Talk about lucky break, now they get time to recover and spin the fan backlash to the Rumble before doing something that fans will claim was always the plan.

  21. Serious inquiry here mates. If a network special is a network special is a network special (due to subscribers being permanent), and if Wrestlemania in and of itself, with part timers, pyro celebs, and superfights can fill up a stadium regardless, then why couldn't:

-Reigns and Rusev fight at wrestlemania in a heated match for the midcard U.S. title, allowing Reigns to grow more and progress through the ranks more naturally and give him a solid victory that isn't rejected.
-A proven and over babyface in Daniel Bryan win the Rumble, face Brock at mania, maybe lose, maybe win.
-Have Seth Rollins cash in on whoever
-Have a more confident and Ready Reigns face Seth at around Summerslam

  22. Since I'm going to Smackdown now, that leads to the obvious question: Is TV on Thursday gonna be just a regular, meaningless Smackdown, or are they gonna do a truncated Raw?

I for one think they can kill two birds with one stone by doing the latter; not only will doing a 2 hour Raw-type show on Smackdown boost up Smackdown's credibility in the wake of the move back to Thursdays, but it'll also keep people from feeling ripped off considering they announced Brock Lesnar for Raw tonight. He never appears on Smackdown, so having the WWE Champion actually appear on the show will instantly make it mean something, even if it's just for one night. I know I'll feel ripped off if Brock doesn't show up on Thursday after being advertised for tonight.

Aww I was looking forward to Triple H trolling the crowd tonight.

  24. Why is there a link to "Diamond Dallas Page RIP" in the "Also on Scott's Blog of Doom" section?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I drove home from watching Wrestlemania on *TV* during a snowstorm that bad.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm going the opposite direction, I think Raw being cancelled is terrible for the WWE. The last thing they want is for the stench of the Rumble to last longer than it needed to. I'm not sure what they had planned for tonight (nor did they, its 5 1/2 hours to show time), but they had to do SOMETHING to stem the negativity. Now they are forced to come up with some type of show tonight and the anger continues to roll on. Next week's Raw might be even worse for crowd hatred.

    Smackdown is cancelled too.

  29. He ought to be. Lord knows, Bryan styles himself after his son.

    ReplyDelete
  30. He is one of us. Just a slob like one of us...

    ReplyDelete
  31. RAW main event would have been Big Show & Kane vs Roman

    ReplyDelete
  32. "Awwww did the widdle internet fans not get what they want?"

*Somehow ignoring that, because Roman won, his character should be just as mad.*

    ReplyDelete
  33. Raw's live event got moved to Thursday in Hartford, and tickets for tonight's show will be honored at the door. Smackdown tomorrow night in Boston got cancelled outright.

    ReplyDelete
  34. A main event anywhere in the country.

    ReplyDelete
  35. You know what Raw getting postponed means, right? It's the return of THURSDAY RAW THURSDAY!

  36. Glacier finally has his revenge for not getting signed by WWE. Blood runs cold indeed...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Or on Smackdown we get a RAW battle royal where we get to watch the same finish

    ReplyDelete
  38. So Vince comes out next week and slaps around a snow man?

    ReplyDelete
  39. And you'd be likely to be pulled off the road by cops this time around, since the governor closed all highways for 9:00 PM.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I shall quote myself for discussion purposes.

"Since I'm going to Smackdown now, that leads to the obvious question: Is TV on Thursday gonna be just a regular, meaningless Smackdown, or are they gonna do a truncated Raw?

  41. DID YOU KNOW:

Roman Reigns has not had a good singles match in his 2+ years in WWE, however, HE IS IN THE FAST LANE, BARRELLING DOWN THE ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA!

    ReplyDelete
  42. How do we know this is really Scott?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Except the Northeast.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh man. I was sort of kidding about the 3 hours of Roman Reigns promotional packages...but it looks like that's exactly what they are may be doing!

    2m2 minutes ago

However, Monday Night #Raw WILL air tonight on @USA_Network from @WWE World Headquarters in Stamford, CT. (2/4)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nah. Raw is Denver next week, the furthest thing from Smark Central. Reigns will get his pre-Rumble usual lukewarm reaction, and that will sufficient for Vinny Mac to move onwards!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Because reasons? Or Fuck you! That's Why! Pick your meme.

    ReplyDelete
  47. God, tonight is gonna be a trainwreck.

Obviously their back catalogue can fill the airtime even with next to no notice but this is WWE and they hate their own product so i can only imagine what they're gonna throw on air tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  48. And if The Rock or Sting show up anywhere in the building, Reigns loses his title shot at Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Like keeping character consistency matters when there's a chance to show everyone what a cool funny dude he is!

    ReplyDelete
  50. If I were them I'd lock myself in a room and hash out the new plan going forward. This snow delay would be a great cover up to completely rebook and change direction. Hell storyline wise HHH hates Reigns anyway so he could easily screw him out of the WM main.

    ReplyDelete
  51. IT AIN'T YO MOMMAS YOGA

    ReplyDelete
  52. "RAW would have gone on tonight...if it wasn't for THEVIGILANTESNOW."

    ReplyDelete
  53. This is a big deal because once people stop watching Raw and spend it on other things, some of those people might realize they can do other things. Because Raw is on every Monday, it becomes a routine, and people sometimes forget that routine can be broken.

That's how I stopped watching Raw for years. I didn't do it once, and the habit broke from just that once.

    ReplyDelete
  54. This is what I would have done - showcase the most recent NXT Takeover in lieu of RAW as a way of saying "This is what you get for $9.99/month with the Network!" Maybe even re-dub some of the commentary so newcomers to NXT will understand the characters and their motivations.

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's terrible for WWE. This is one of their biggest TV nights all year.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thought I heard Brock already flew back home before the storm started.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Kind of like when you lose internet for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  58. That reminds of Vince dressing the heels as the Denver Nuggets and the baby faces as the Los Angelas Lakers when he got kicked out of the Pepsi Center due to a scheduling conflict with the NBA.

Which got me thinking ... what's the most petty thing Vince has done with the product to amuse himself? I think Right To Censor due to conflicts with the PTA, Billionaire Ted, maybe Kiss My Ass? Embarrassing Bischoff over and over.

    ReplyDelete
  59. It's not postponed. We do get a live smackdown out of the deal though.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Would be a great sell if you couldn't get it on Hulu+

    ReplyDelete
  61. The Invasion -- hands down.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Went camping this past summer -- I forgot how nice life could be without the internet.
