WWE Network removes Canadian Geo-Blocking

So for anyone who doesn't know yet, if you already have a WWE Network account in Canada, you no longer need DNS changers or Hola or whatever to access it.  With the Rogers deal now finalized, they have unblocked it for Canada, assuming you already have credentials.  You still need either Canadian Rogers account or a fake US billing account to actually get access, but once you do it's available without Unblock-US or whatever. Which means I can now watch on my iPad or phone outside my house!  I'm still using Unblock-US for Netflix and Hulu, but it's nice to have more options for the Network now.

  1. Only got time to watch one more Royal Rumble before Sunday's PPV. which is the most memorable? 2011, 2012 or 2013?

    ReplyDelete
  2. 2012 is terrible, 11 or 13 for sure

I"m doing 2014 here in about two hours

  3. Are we suddenly taking the moral high ground here?

  4. In honor of this I demand you review "Canada's Strongest Man: The Ultimate Dino Bravo Collection"

  5. 2012 is pretty memorable, especially if you have strong feelings one way or the other about WWE's "sense of humour".

  6. There's no way the 2004 Rumble isn't the best Rumble ever. The story is just too awesome.

I have a brother in Innisfail, AB.....or Red Deer. Any of you Hart Family members on the blog know if it's available on a cable system there?

  8. Then straight into Wrestlemania I?! I might join you for that.

  9. Nah, I'm not doing the Mania's

I'm never doing all the PPV's again this has been exhausting

    ReplyDelete
  10. Rogers in only available east of Ontario.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 2014 was too recent for me, I remember too much about the show and especially the Rumble match for there to be any surprises or unexpected elements for me.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I watched that video where the guy freaks out when Rock beats Punk in 2013. His girlfriend was kinda cute, I don't know what she saw in that fat fuck.

Or Lower Canada, since they're still in the dark ages of media distribution.

Was supposed to have a job interview over the phone at 2 p.m., but the guy hasn't called me yet. So I'm watching the 1993 Royal Rumble. Beverly Bros. vs. Steiner Bros.

I really liked Enos and Bloom in the AWA. But that Beverly Bros. gimmick pretty much guaranteed no one would take them seriously.

I also remember how pumped I was to see the Steiners in the WWF. Such a disappointing run.

  20. Oh noes, I'll miss the thread live watch of the actual match...I have to go to dinner with a good friend of mine, think he's gonna ask me to be best man for his wedding.

  21. A bunch of places canceled preorders. I don't know if it's the main reason, but one of them is a ton have gone up for sale on eBay. People are preordering as many as they can just to flip them online. They're even selling their preorders for like $1200. Unless Nintendo cranked up the release and made more available, a bunch of retailers were going to start cancelling the preorders. They all know they're going to sell every one they get anyways. They don't want the bad PR that's been coming from these limited releases where real fans either can't get them or have to pay through the ass.

Pat the NES Punk on YouTube did a video on this.

  22. Daily Thread now up

  23. If Russo was the one interviewing you, don't expect to be called. He loves his swerves.

  24. That sounds more fun, best man is something every should do once

And then only once, because shit that job is annoying

Geez, that FrankenSteiner looked like it would kill a guy.

  28. I love how Scott isn't even employed by the WWE yet he's doing more to convince people to buy the Network than the WWE is.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You can use a fake address, though. Not sure if that's fraud.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That seems to be Scott's stance.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That sounds simple enough, that's for the help!

    ReplyDelete
  32. No, that was Steven Richards.

    FUCK CANADA!

  34. I still watch the Network for absolutely FREE in India, where no one is ever going to sniff the WWE Network for at least 3-5 years.

    > Use a friend's WWE Network account.
    > Use Hola to change location to Chicago.
    > Link 4KTV to Computer and enjoy WWE Network on the fucking TV.

NO PS3 NEEDED. NO MONEY SPENT. NO UNBLOCK US EITHER.

So, when is that network thing coming to Australia?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Are you saying all jobbers look alike? That's jobberist!

Apparently $80 million isn't quite enough.

  41. Just subscribed this afternoon - everything seems to work fine the UK now after that false start. Two minutes to set up the account then several hours of wrestling goodness thanks to Nxt Revolution. Its just a shame we have to pay 50% more for it.

  42. The Greyhound of Justice?

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's supposed to come to NZ early this year, I would assume the same for Australia. Mind you, who knows how much of a priority this part of the world is for them. WWE has completely flatlined in popularity in NZ, it's hard enough just to get dvds.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Who the hell needs the Network when I have crates full of dubbed VHS tapes?

    ReplyDelete
  45. The stream was sad on numerous PPV's, #notevenworth99cents

    ReplyDelete
  46. this stinks to me

    ReplyDelete
  47. Matt Borne = awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The Network is BETAMAX quality.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Man, it's tempting to get it, honestly. But at the same time, I don't want to support the current product (outside of NXT). And it's still the principle of the matter that I just want the Network here as it is in the US without any extra rigmarole.

    ReplyDelete
  50. What about all the parts of Manitoba and the Northwest Territories that lie east of a portion of Ontario?

    ReplyDelete
  51. On PS4, can we delete the US PSN account and still have WWE Network App show up on our existing Canadian accounts? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I know I can't tell the difference between Steven Richards and Mantaur.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Agreed. And while Flair winning by Hogan distracting/pulling on Sid fit well in that Rumble, I like that Benoit won clean as a sheet by using his smarts and resiliency.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It is available in New Zealand, I've had it since August.

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's already available in NZ, I subscribed the day it became available.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Well, shows how much attention I've been paying!

Seriously though, is it actually officially available in NZ? I can't be bothered with the hassle of setting up a fake US address etc..

    ReplyDelete
  57. I used all my real details. It's fully available here.

    ReplyDelete
  58. So help a bit of a Luddite out: If I've got Rogers, I just sign up on the website and get full access, rather than the bastardized, only-on-a-TV-channel thing that they've been pushing here?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I am not trolling. The Golden Rule of Wrestling is "if it happens on camera, it's a work" The burden of proof is on you.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I used it very little, I've already seen everything I wanted to many times over.

  63. Crikey Mate Down Under AussieJanuary 24, 2015 at 10:38 PM

Same here, there is really no presence or interest for wrestling in Australia

    ReplyDelete
  64. He's not your mate, pal!

  65. www.entropay.com is what I used to get Hulu, WWE Network, US PSN, etc from the UK.

Quite simple to use, not too pricey in terms of fees.

    ReplyDelete
  66. as long as the subscriber still pays for it, I don't think the WWE minds that much.

(the stations etc. that have the broadcast rights in some of those countries might have a different opinion though. it's pretty much the same as with Neflix - they don't really care where the ones paying for the content come from, it's the original owners of the content that do)
