WWE Network Question

On their website (and Mobile app updates) the WWE keeps referring to the "award winning" WWE Network.  What award?  And when did they win this?

Answer:

Basically it's a BS award.  But we're probably going to hear about it for the next two years on every show now.  They're like when Owen Hart "won" those Slammys and then didn't shut up about it, but in corporate form.

  1. Renee Young's Unfiltered was very disappointing, even with the low expectations I had going into it.

  2. At least with Owen, it was entertaining. "You may have two titles, Bulldog, but you don't have two Slammies like me! Woo!"

  3. Jerry Springer was worse. I liked seeing angles that occurred after I stopped watching 13 years ago, but overall it was boring. As soon as they shifted into the HHH/Stephanie stuff, I just turned it off.

If they're only showing 15 second clips from these angles, then what's the point? I doubt future shows will be any better.

  4. Only the WWE would crow about an award that 99% of people have never heard of.

  5. Did you know?

The state of the art WWE network has more awards then the movies, "Gigli", "She-
Devil", and "Howard the Duck" combined??

  6. I liked it, but it was way too short. She's likable and engaging, but six minutes doesn't give her time for much of anything.

  7. So much freezing on my PS4 tonight. I don't think I am even going to bother with the next free month.

  9. That reminds me, I got the following e-mail the other day:

"Hello, sir. This is former SSW bowling trophy champion, Joe Briggs. I've stumbled onto your blogs totally by accident. I must say that even though you spent most of your finger power bashing me, you have a very entertaining thing going. Keep up the good work!!

P.S. Rebecca Lynn and I are getting married in July. And yes, I do plan to cover her after every. Single. Move!!"

  11. Howard the Duck and Gigli both won Razzies for Worst Film of the Year. However She-Devil didn't even achieve those lofty goals. So WWE does have more awards than movies She-Devil, Heat, Bitter Moon, and Walkabout combined.

  12. Ha! This is a standard practice for all businesses in all industries, believe me.

  13. I thought it was much better than that Jerry Springer show. but as Daniel O'Reilly already mentioned, six minutes were too short.

I guess imo the runtime of both shows should be reversed. six minutes of one "outrageous" clip after another (so it doesn't wear anyone out because of the length) and thirty minutes of Renee Young casually talking with current (and in the future maybe even: former?) WWE stars.

  14. Blows my mind how WWE have so little self awareness that they don't see how sad/transparent it is to keep referring to it as "award winning". That's just one example, they do this shit all the time (the 'Did You Know?' stuff for example) No other company on the planet tries harder than WWE

  15. "They're like when Owen Hart "won" those Slammys and then didn't shut up about it, but in corporate form."

But can the WWE Network defying gravity?

  20. This is basically the wrestling equivalent of a terrible horror movie bragging about winning a Saturn Award.

  21. I've always had a pet-peeve for people who feel the need to acknowledge their own accomplishments and pat themselves on the back about every minor thing, so you can tell how much I enjoy when WWE does it.
