Dolph Ziggler Update

Despite reports that Ziggler has re-signed with the WWE, Ziggler himself stated on the "Chad Dukes Wrestling Show" that he has not signed a new deal with the company. He did note that he made a counter offer and is waiting to finalize a few things before signing a new deal while saying that he is also trying to get more stand-up comedy dates and hopefully movie and TV roles, which is tough to make time for while working full-time in the WWE.

  1. TNA/GFW Update

Right now there is a plan for a GFW invasion to take place on TNA television. Originally, TNA wanted to do it with Ring of Honor but that did not end up working out.

That's like wanting to fuck Scarlett Johannson, not having it work out - and going for Melissa McCarthy instead.

    ReplyDelete
  2. RoH = Smart. GFW = Not Smart. Why would you want to be stuck with a dying promotion that's only going to stain you, if not worse, in the process?

    ReplyDelete
  3. That got a chuckle out of me.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Well Jeff Jarrett did get an entire pay per view dedicated to jerking him off and talking about how awesome he is where he is awarded a belt and a Hall of Fame spot...

    ReplyDelete
  5. So apparently these "releases" like James Storm are a work as part of an invasion angle. A way for TNA to feel like they've outsmarted those reporting the releases. So tired of them.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Nah, RoH isn't THAT damn desirable. And GFW's closer to Rosie O'Donnell than Melissa McCarthy right now.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I actually think Dolph would be wildly entertaining if he knows he's leaving and just starts doing whatever the hell he wants for the last couple months.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Gotta love making your promotion look like it's rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic as a clever ruse to work the internet. Oh Dixie.

    ReplyDelete
  9. They're both decently high on the obnoxious pig scale but McCarthy is higher.

    ReplyDelete
  10. So transparent though. Leak information that people are being released. Wait for Meltzer to report it. Then mock him for not knowing what he's talking about. Ugh. Who wants anything to do with a company that acts like this?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I hope someone pulls a Pillman and get their legit release and then bails for another company.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Speaking of TNA. I see Mickie James' is developing quite nicely:

  13. Featuring Dolph Ziggler as Cocky Henchman #3

    ReplyDelete
  14. What is Dallas Gemini doing in Full Sail?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I've never seen a wrestling company have such an aggressive distaste for the entirety of wrestling fandom. No wonder most of us fucking hate TNA, their contempt for us has been obvious for some time.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Great, now I'm thinking Arby's and it's only 9:45.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Something tells me she's not going to age as gracefully as Trish. Shame.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Perplexing. Usually a company that invades should be around for more than oh gee 3 weeks. And also should actually be on TV?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Trish aged well? She looked like she was setting a world record for most crow's feet before 40.

    ReplyDelete
  20. To the point below it's more like wanting Melissa and getting Rosie.

    ReplyDelete
  21. GFW isn't so much invading as squatting.

    ReplyDelete
  22. GFW invading TNA is like that American Gladiators ripoff invading WCW in late 2000

    ReplyDelete
  23. I would kind of like a storyline where Jeff Jarrett gets knocked on the head with one of his guitars and thinks it's 1994. He starts calling GFW the USWA and says he's leading a USWA invasion of TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  24. RIP Jackson Vroman

    http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/college/iowa-state/basketball-mens/2015/06/29/jackson-vroman-death-iowa-state-cyclones/29489987/

    ReplyDelete
  25. I hate TNA because they put me in a position where I had to turn on Billy Corgan. Unforgivable.

    ReplyDelete
  26. What happened to her face?

    ReplyDelete
  27. You from Iowa, Bayless?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Stranger In The AlpsJune 30, 2015 at 7:53 AM

GFW invading TNA is like a homeless man breaking into a foreclosed home.

    ReplyDelete
  29. TNA brainwashes their moronic fanbase like no other wrestling promotion has before. And Bob Ryder saying Meltzer was wrong about the Kong/Terrell contracts yet not refuting the other reports, esepcially about DA cancelling the show in September, tells you all you need to know.

    ReplyDelete
  30. No, but read it on Hoops Hype.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Damn she's looking good

    ReplyDelete
  32. Its a house squatting!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Stranger In The AlpsJune 30, 2015 at 7:54 AM

It IS! That homeless man will find nothing but dog food in there!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm shocked Triple H hasn't tried that only to reveal after three months that he was faking all along - but seriously I'd love to see Triple H bring back either the French or British accent.

    ReplyDelete
  35. In Dixie's own words, she sees TNA fans as 40 year old virgins who still play with action figures.

That is what she thinks of TNA's fanbase.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I get to be on jury duty for the month of July. Woo?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Stranger In The AlpsJune 30, 2015 at 7:56 AM

Just for that, the guy is gonna fry!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Because GFW, stunningly, has a bit more leverage here and let's be real.

To Jeff Jarrett, making sure everyone knows how great Jeff Jarrett is is priority #1.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Even Hulk Hogan walked out and took a legends deal to cut promos and do whatever he wants to do in other ventures.

    ReplyDelete
  40. If GFW invaded TNA I wouldn't be able to tell who was with each company.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Too much sex and Arbys?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jim Neidhart?

Wait, no. I think I screwed that up.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Dixie: Daddy, can I borrow 100 million?

    Dad: Why?

Dixie: I'm hoping to buy a bunch of subscriptions to the WWE network, so Vince will give us a timeslot. Isn't that a great idea, daddy?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Damn, how old was he?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Has anyone ever used the Homer Simpson Method (say you're prejudiced against all races) successfully?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Bullshit. Roode emptied that cupboard out before leaving.

    ReplyDelete
  47. GFW vs. TNA would fill at least a fourth of a VFW hall.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Exactly....tna and roh working together makes WAY too mucj sense, i guess

BUT gwf and win in the end kickstarting a new era.....and what not

    ReplyDelete
  49. Just wear a confederate flag shirt, no one likes those

    ReplyDelete
  50. Worst_in_the_WorldJune 30, 2015 at 8:08 AM

How amazing is it gonna be when TNA announcers have to feign shock that OMG JAMES STORM is invading the impact zone!

    ReplyDelete
  51. She was always smoking hot to me, once she got to the wwe and could afford to eat.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well, it's not TNA's call exclusively if RoH works with them and really, what positives does working with TNA offer RoH right now?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Did you guys see Tyson Kidd's scar? That was gnarly.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm gonna wager that the nWo angle would have been less impactful had Hall & Nash already been working for WCW for the several years previous.

    ReplyDelete
  55. RoH is closing the ratings gap on TNA too.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Worst_in_the_WorldJune 30, 2015 at 8:11 AM

TNA should not allow their own guys to use their TNA names when invading TNA.

"What are Migno and Jay Hurricane doing in the Impact Zone?!! And is that San Antonio Skyris with them???"

    ReplyDelete
  101. Sorry lovely Canada

    ReplyDelete
  102. It's Vinnie Vegas and the Diamond Studf.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Well, they do have double the viewership on destination America. A successful wrestling block on destination America is good for everyone

    ReplyDelete
  104. Not sure exactly but I believe what happened was Rock's contract expired and no one in WWE mentioned it or did anything. And Rock felt it was really disrespectful after all he had done for the company that Vince couldn't even give him a phone call. Some believe that Vince was trying a power play because Rock was self-sufficient now.

Something like that...I may be missing something.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I thought Flop Ziggler had reported yesterday that he had signed.

    ReplyDelete
  106. It's fucking depressing that this and the TNA/GFW invasion are the top stories in pro wrestling right now.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Night pretty much has it below about it being "botched", but the Rock's contract expired at the end of 2004 and WWE made no effort to sign him. He didn't appear on WWE TV again until 2007 in a pre-taped segment to hype the Battle of the Billionaires, and didn't appear live until the Hall of Fame in 2008.

It was during this period when Rock started to be billed as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or just Dwayne Johnson for his movies.

    ReplyDelete
  108. He wanted his independence at that point though didn't he? Or was that just as a result of the perceived disrespect?

    ReplyDelete
  109. My aunt lives in Luton and one recent winter, she was complaining about how cold it was because it was minus 1 celsius. Meanwhile, we were sitting in minus 30 weather.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Ziggler refuted the initial report, which came from Mike Johnson

    ReplyDelete
  111. It's probably one of those situations where they just have to hash out the final details signing on the dotted line.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I think he was okay with how he does it now: film work and occasional matches and appearances. But Rock must have been pretty pissed to be away that long since he seems fairly easy to work with.

    ReplyDelete
  113. ”*°☆☆☆°*”. Just Use your free time on Internet ✔$$$$✔.... 114. Yeah, considering nowadays Rock has no problem dropping by for a bit when he happens to be in the same town (like the RAW in Brooklyn and the recent house show in Boston), it seems like there was definitely was animosity there since the Rock didn't appear for 4 years outside of one pre-taped segment.

    ReplyDelete
  115. why does every IWC journalist look like a pedophile btw?

    ReplyDelete
  116. So, who finally wins the US Open Challenge? Owens loses NXT belt to Balor, then beats Cena for the belt? A debuting Balor? Or Zayn or Itami in the fall? A surprise mid card guy like Bray or Barrett?

    ReplyDelete
  117. 1) He's probably better off leaving TV for a while and doing his other stuff like John Morrison.

    2) I love how Ring of Honor was like "nah, we're good".

    ReplyDelete
  118. If I were Ring of Honor's management, I would refuse to work with TNA too.

A TNA/ROH invasion would only benefit TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  119. ROH has less than nothing to gain from it. They draw better crowds, have better shows, and have a million times more respect than TNA. It would do them absolutely no good to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Yeah, I know it's wrestling and all, but that was pretty fucked up of them having Jamie Noble taking bumps last night with 3 broken ribs. Even worse if it was his idea.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Or maybe a wrestler exaggerated (or maybe even made up completely, that liar) his injury? I can't believe they made Bob Orton wrestle with that broken hand for so long.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  124. Agreed, no need to even consider it.

    ReplyDelete
  125. June 3rd was bizzarely low for TNA, the overall trend though is one of ROH growing. Not sure why TNA sunk so low that night.

    ReplyDelete
  126. A GFW Invasion. FFS. GFW doesn't even really exist. All it will be is a faction led by JJ, as part of TNA's never ending faction wars.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Ziggler as leader of GFW invasion confirmed.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I like that Universal keeps asking director Brian DePalma to make a new cut of the film featuring modern rap music inspired by the film as a soundtrack and DePalma keeps telling them to fuck off and enjoy the 80s synthpop

    ReplyDelete
  129. It was the change in nights. It has only been 4 weeks way too early to look for trends

    ReplyDelete
  130. Sorry. At this point ziggler annoys me

    ReplyDelete
  131. Yeah. Some directors want the film to remain as is as a product of their time.

    ReplyDelete
  132. As far as GFW goes, I feel like the time that I got duped into heading up to the walking track near our house on the 4th of July for fireworks when traffic jams kept people in this area from going to G-town or Lake Wylie. The promised 'fireworks' were bought at Walmart.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I hate summer so much. I don't get people who love how hot it is. It can ALWAYS be hot. Just wear several jumpers and a coat and WOW how warm it is! All year round. Hate it. Get into the sea, summer, you bastard.

    ReplyDelete
  134. That and DePalma knows it's a blatant cash grab.

    ReplyDelete
  135. If anything, TNA should be invaded by CZW to rip off the good vibes from the CZW/ROH invasion.

    ReplyDelete
  146. There is a remake in the works featuring a black cast, which could probably be cool as long as it's different enough from the 1983 film (which was different enough from the 1932 original).

Replacing the 80s soundtrack with rap songs on the 1983 version is silly though.

  173. He IS a tomato because of his inexperience. There's really not an easy fight for him.

Also, that said, Dana White isn't really known for giving guys easy fights. He gave Brock Frank F'ing Mir in his first fight.

  175. They have a lot to gain, if they wanna be more than a ninch in a ninch. A successful DA block with tna would equal a bigger tv deal. They are still behind tna by good margin in tv viewers.

  192. First, I don't know what a ninch is. Second, who cares if TNA has more viewers? They are going out of business. Their show is cancelled. They don't run shows. All their wrestlers are leaving. They are hitching their entire company on an invasion angle with a company that doesn't have a tv show. Why would ROH want to be affiliated with that?
