Renegade’s debut in WCW

When Renegade debuted at the first WCW Uncensored PPV in 1995, was it originally supposed to be the Ultimate Warrior, or was it always supposed to be his cheap knockoff?   They certainly wanted it to be Warrior and tried hard to make it happen.
