Shane Douglas’s WWF run

Why was Shane Douglas's run in the WWF in the mid 1990's so short?  I remember hearing at the time that he got into it with the Kliq behind the scenes.  Was that the reason he ended up leaving, or was it something else?   Yes, that was 100% the reason.
