TNA Television Deal Update
As of right now, it looks that TNA and Spike TV will part ways when their current deal expires. However, TNA is in talks right now with the Velocity Network and WGN America , along with two other networks, one of which is said to be a stronger network than Spike but without the matching demographics.

How is Sheamus Perceived Within the WWE?
Sheamus, who wants to turn heel, does not appear to be a priority for the top brass of the WWE. Also, there is a contempt for him among some of his peers due to how he works inside the ring.

NXT Wrestler's In Ring Career Over?
Corey Graves is still employed by the WWE and currently working at the Performance Center. However, due to multiple concussions, his in-ring career may be over as he is still not allowed to do any wrestling at the moment.

Maybe Vince just hates that he lost legit fights to two small jobbers? He wasn't pleased when Batista lost a fight to Booker T and Book is a big dude that can handle himself. Losing to Yoshi Tatsu??? I'm surprised Sheamus isn't being packaged as the new Adorable Adrian Adonis.
ReplyDeleteOr he could try to change the subject with humor when he knows he's wrong and won't admit it....ya know...like some folks.
ReplyDeleteNot doubting that. But watching it dead sober is another thing
ReplyDeleteI imagine the only guys who hate being face are those who are being booked like shit or are floundering in their role. Like Sheamus.
ReplyDeleteI for one like Big Show as a face more than a heel.
ReplyDeleteEh, I enjoy your wild overreactions and wanted to share one with you. People don't like Raw? They must not enjoy life. I feel the same way about you not finding any kind of toilet humour ever, to be at all amusing.
ReplyDeleteIf he starts working soft, this will be the great Irish potato famine of this century.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a fan of Sheamus. I didn't like his initial push as a heel and when he turned face I just wanted to see Mark Henry beat his ass. Didn't like when he won the Rumble over Jericho and obviously hated the 18 second victory. His biggest contribution to me is that the YES chants kept going after WrestleMania 28.
ReplyDeleteContext context context. A poop joke is just basically lame and silly in something unimportant like a forum comment, and incredibly lame, silly and inexcusably awful in a main event angle.
ReplyDeleteI have an update for you: Stranger buys fun packs of cereal for office consumption.....and eats them in alphabetical order.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy big show in all his incarnations. I know the blog hates this man with a passion, however I find him to be a great hand to have and a spectacle in the ring.
ReplyDeleteI can see it now... Sheamus starts feuding with Colin Cassady who insists that they have an 'ALL-SAWFT' match with no hard strikes allowed.
ReplyDeleteSheamus, Hornswoggle and Becky Lynch start to starve and ask NXT GM William Regal for assistance, but he's uncaring and soon Hornswoggle dies from starvation.
But then in the following weeks Regal starts to get haunted by a mysterious ghostly leprechaun (tying in with the upcoming Leprechaun: Origins home release).
COME ON WWE WRITERS, IT WRITES ITSELF.
Jericho losing that Rumble basically killed him forever as a draw.
ReplyDeleteAh so TNA has FOUR or more networks interested in Impact including a huge one. I thought they were going under? What about WWE buying the tape library?
ReplyDeleteIndeed, and, I would also argue that my joke is more about the state of WWE films. That a short film of Charles Wright taking a crap whilst making references to a 90s gimmick would be their best release to date. That's movie industry satire, I'll have you know!
ReplyDeleteI don't think the blog hates the Big Show. Big Show really is a legend and a huge part of multiple eras of wrestling. The majority of the blog (and I would venture to say fans in general) is that Big Show is a poor choice to push as a main eventer or elevate into main events at this point in his career. Those days have passed for him.
ReplyDeleteStranger is wasting money on packaging of those individual fun packs. Dean Andrews is angered by the thought of the easily avoided extra waste if you'd just bought four regular packs and then just had a little from each.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen the stage of "denial" hold on for so long. Time to move on to Anger or Bargaining!
ReplyDeleteMy office is so boring right now that this sounds like a fun idea.
ReplyDeleteAnd it seems they have run out of ways to book him. I think it is just another downside of only having one major company... he has been around so long and done so much that they have just run out of ideas.
ReplyDeleteNothing he has done wrong, dude works hard, gets it and seems like a really nice guy... and I agree he is a great hand to have around to help young guys learn and to be used in matches where his presence benefits it...but how do you keep him fresh?
Nobody tells Stranger his business. He lives in America.
ReplyDeleteI think YOU are in a stage of denial. TNA is alive and kicking. Accept it.
ReplyDeleteWWE books and writes Sheamus like a complete goofy jackass chump and then wonder why he isn't over and want to give up on him.
ReplyDeleteI know that you like to get your hand all coated in margarine and then slide it up your own ass, however that doesn't stop me in agreeing with you that he is quite the spectacle, and I for one have especially enjoyed his latter-day work. e.g. his 2013 Royal Rumble match three-way with Bryan and Henry I found quite underrated.
ReplyDeleteTurn him heel!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy would WWE even want the tape library? Two Angle matches and Victory Road 11 for "The Self-Destruction of Jeff Hardy?"
ReplyDeleteMan, you're like a one-man metaphor for the useless of the Kyoto Protocol.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting SO sick of telling everyone here that.
Cesaro. Ryback. Ziggler. Miz. etc.
ReplyDeleteI heard that he read an email that said that Kofi has some African/Jamaican in him.
ReplyDeleteSheamus just needs a cool 'inside' catchphrase, something like 'ah'll POTATO ye, mootherfella!'
ReplyDeleteYep, I have often mentioned that they DO own the TNA library already. It's called "The 2006 to 2009 Smackdown library".
ReplyDeleteNo one on the current WWE roster that is a major player has had significant bouts in TNA. Most of them are RoH guys.
ReplyDeleteNo idea but a a good handful of you spent a day and a half discussing about a month and a half ago if WWE would buy the library.
ReplyDeleteThen why when I profess I'd enjoy seeing him in te main event do I get attacked with vitriolic slander, much like the person above who agrees with me? It's almost like you can't win for trying sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind at all that Cena and Sheamus are "goofy" during promos. As long as they back it up and are serious in the ring, which they always do.
ReplyDeleteOf course you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteApple Jacks, Cocoa Krispies, Corn Pops, Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes.
ReplyDeletelulz kool aid amirite??
ReplyDeleteand Super X Cup 03'
ReplyDeleteWow, are you the Matt Johnson? I hate 'The The'!
ReplyDeleteI heard that when he read the email, he is rumoured to have muttered 'Jamaican me crazy'.
the irony is, Frosted flakes would be 4th, if Froot Loops were grammatically correct! *mind blown*
ReplyDeleteYou use him as an attraction. "Come see the worlds largest athlete" carny it up.
ReplyDeleteWhy post here if you don't like the opinions of the majority?
ReplyDeleteLibel. Slander is spoken, libel is written.
ReplyDeleteRespectfully withdrawn. Thank you sir
ReplyDeleteFor what possible collection? "Broken Hart" The Teddy Hart Story?
ReplyDeleteYou should have a comma in your name. "Biscuit! It's me, Cathy!"
ReplyDeleteI think they have almost settled there with him and Henry in a way. I like that team a lot.
ReplyDeleteAmazing Red: He was pretty cool for a while
ReplyDeleteBecause this is a much more welcoming place for differing opinions. The IWC in general is rather rude towards those who's opinions don't fall in line with the overly vocal majority. It doesn't mean these opinions are everyone's, just that you get ridiculed and pushed out of "the club" for vocalizing those that aren't in line with the majority. Ya dig?
ReplyDeleteIf he would have stuck with the character he had during the Mark Henry feud, that would have been great. We already have one toolbox douchebag. His name is John Cena, and we don't need a second one rolling around the midcard doing the same act.
ReplyDeleteI'm just freestylin but. . .
ReplyDeleteFree $ for WWE - Turn Reigns heel, have him and Rollins team up and feud with Ambrose. This gives Reigns more time to marinate and do cool heel shit and also give Ambrose the against the odds, underdog vibe they desperately try to give Cena.
"WWE and Coliseum Video presents, Flips, Flops, and Flippity Flops!"
ReplyDeleteI honestly think it was on the best wrestling shows ever. Even the War Games main event was fun.
ReplyDeleteYou should drink some. Preferably the Jonestown flavor.
ReplyDelete"I could see Sheamus being worried about his spot, Monsoon. He's been looking real pale lately."
ReplyDelete"WILL YOU STOP?!"
Just like how you got pushed out of politics for impregnating your photographer.
ReplyDeleteIn this analogy, though, the kicking is involuntary because they've been on life support for years. They're "kicking" inasmuch as someone is physically moving their legs for them until they get bored with it.
ReplyDeleteI was watching an episode of Prime Time the other night where Red Rooster was a guest and Heenan introduced the Brooklyn Brawler. Brawler hit Rooster and Monsoon with a chair then tossed Rooster into a a big metal cabinet. After that, he slammed him onto the cabinet crushing it. The following week Monsoon mentioned that Rooster needed a ton of stitches in his neck. Ladies and gentleman, the WWF in 1989, put over the Brooklyn Brawler as a huge mega heel better than they have done ANYONE in the last 2-3 current years.
ReplyDeleteIt was great but inconsequential. Unless you're specifically looking for it you can miss it and not miss anything in wrestling history.
ReplyDeleteYou are FAIL at the use of irony. Like many other things.
ReplyDeleteTell me I'm wrong, but the majority of your posts (and Vince's) aren't about the actual subject, but about how people disagree with your opinion on the subject.
ReplyDeleteSo who is really creating the drama about it? Again, not trying to argue, just seems that way.
I eat my cereal in alphabetical order. Do you think I struggled with this?
ReplyDeleteUm no, cause he was still a 99% jobber instead of a 100% jobber. I think I can sum up 1 or 2 WWE heels from 2011 to 2014 that were a tad more effective.
ReplyDeleteStill not this politician you've accused me of being, nor am I the guy who pretends to talk to the dead.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I can't stand the character, this is one of the reasons that I deeply respect John Cena the man. He's such a consummate professional that a fan could probably smack him in the face with a wet, hot turd and he would smile, wipe away the shit smear, and give the guy a Cenation salute. He does not bitch about being a face, he doesn't give management any flack, and I have yet to hear about him being unprofessional in the ring or hard to work with, or a prima donna backstage or anything like that.
ReplyDeleteThey do not have a future at the moment until they get a new deal. Unless they work something out, they are done
ReplyDeleteYou are trying too hard.
ReplyDeleteThe show was the peak of Teddy Hart, who should have been a mega star and sort of a swan song for Juvi on American television.
ReplyDeleteWhile his wife was dying. Fuckin' class act, John Edwards.
ReplyDelete1 word: Mexicools. You're welcome.
ReplyDeletePair Sheamus with Finlay and have them be the 2k14 version of Ivan and Nikita Koloff.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome.
Besides Mark Henry when he beat up Cena as well as his feud with Orton and Bray Wyatt's first couple of months, I don't think you can.
ReplyDeleteBET. It almost has to be.
ReplyDeleteExactly. The day they sign and announce "WE HAVE A NEW DEAL!", I'll fully admit they are not going to die. Until then, "TNA GONNA DIE SOON!":
ReplyDeleteAnd as I mentioned yesterday, some/most of the wrestlers are worth saving, but the name/company is NOT. Not with all they've managed to fuck up over the years.
Hey, Spud! How you doing?
ReplyDeleteAs a member of the IWC, I personally hate being told that I'm a part of the IWC, a sinister majority who are out to get you.
ReplyDeleteIt makes you look damn arrogant. I have different opinions to stuff all the time. Sometimes they're controversial. If that's the case, I'd best expect to argue my side, especially against people who are likely bored at work and looking for some shits and giggles.
Going INTO that with the attitude of "Now, you guys are all against me, but please be fair", suggests a solidity and a consensus that just doesn't exist. But you're going to MAKE it exist by saying "Everyone's against me".
This would be okay if you were stating opinions most of the time. But the vast majority of your posts (I'm going to do a Vince Jordan and say it's 99%) seem to be saying "Awww, why are you guys all against me? No fair, come on guys, awww, geeee!"
Which personally makes me want to slap you hard for being a little bitch. And for rudely and arrogantly insinuating that people you don't know are part of an organised thought syndicate against you.
Nobody here has anywhere near that much time and effort to care enough about you.
Black Hole: The career of Samoa Joe.
ReplyDeleteLately the majority of my posts have been defensive diatribes directed at trolls like cunt status. I think it's more you can remember all the times I spew venom, and it clouds your mind. Or, alternately, the posts where I spew venom is the ones that are highlighted and responded to by the community while my other posts get lost in the shuffle. At any rate, thanks for your opinion!
ReplyDeleteCorrect.
ReplyDeleteAnd we aren't an organised world-wide community out to get you. But ours is at least realistic.
ReplyDeleteNight81 did give ole' Johnny a new name last night. I've avoided using it so far, but it might be time.
ReplyDeleteIf a Teddy Hart is the most relevant guy at an event than it is missable. Amazing event, can skip it with clear conscience and not miss a beat.
ReplyDeleteDamn.
ReplyDeleteSure thing, Molester-of-Boys.
ReplyDeleteI never said anything to or about you sir. I think you're being overly paranoid in your response.
ReplyDeleteIt really did. I liked the idea getting thrown out at the time by having Jericho win by doing nothing. He had been coming out to the ring and doing the smiling or crying without saying a word. They should have had him do it until the Rumble and win.
ReplyDeleteHe had a history of doing that by winning the belt at Unforgiven 08 and then went on to have the MOTY with Michaels the next month.
Seth Rollins? Brock Lesnar?
ReplyDeleteNah, Vince was holding that back JUST for Hunter if the H ever cheated on Steph.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Edwards was a legitimately terrible person
ReplyDeleteYes, The Tried to Make Me into The Rock: The Sonny Siaki Story
ReplyDeleteWhich networks?
ReplyDeleteIf a beating happens against a rooster, does it actually matter?
ReplyDeleteActually, you have in past responses to me and others dealt with as being part of some kind of hive mind you called the IWC,and in my response above I am referencing a post of yours slightly higher up which says:
ReplyDelete"The IWC in general is rather rude towards those who's opinions don't fall in line with the overly vocal majority. It doesn't mean these opinions are everyone's, just that you get ridiculed and pushed out of "the club""
I hope this context gives my reply better meaning to help you in your quest to post online about wrestling.
What a cock
ReplyDeleteTeddy is insane and that is what held him back
ReplyDeleteI have a shoot interview of his and it is a 90 minute long tangent.
Billy Jack Haynes would think he was crazy
You know..US..NBC...NN channel..
ReplyDeleteLOOK OVER THERE!!!
*Runs away*
WGN, which hasn't been relevant since Bozo retired
ReplyDeleteVelocity, which is a new auto channel (likely to never be relevant)
Unknown 1
Unknown 2 (larger than Spike, wrong demos though. Allegedly.)
Man, people really did convince themselves that this would happen back then, eh? I remember the months long outrage when they THOUGHT Sheamus was a last minute booking change because Jericho was too obvious, only to find out that Sheamus was the plan all along. Ah, memories.
ReplyDeletethat's actually one pairing I used in ewr, calling them the "Belfast Bruisers".
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised they haven't tried to do anything with the two of them before.
ReplyDeleteDidn't he go off script a lot in his promos?
ReplyDeleteSeth hasn't done much yet, once he gets to cash in MITB we'll see how "dominant" he really is. (Answer: I'm not holding my breath on that one.)
ReplyDeleteBrock HAS been dominant since WM 30, but we all know he's one Cena loss away from returning to "Meh"-dom. And before WM30, he seemed to be settling in there quite well.
He did the moonsault off of the cage after a match that pissed off a lot of people
ReplyDeleteI remember that footage. Never understood why he did that.
ReplyDeleteHe wants me to die, because I don't hate WWE as much as he does, ya see.
ReplyDeleteFirst act: Lashley, MVP, and King become SUPER FACES. John Cena will look like the lovechild of Brooklyn Brawler and a random Mulkey within a month, compared to those three.
ReplyDeleteI heard something about how he was concussed, and doesn't even remember doing it. If that's not the case, he's a dick. If that was the case, he's lucky to be alive.
ReplyDeleteNah, you're not THAT important. I'm just tired of your crap.
ReplyDeleteIs that 'Molester-of-Boys'? It's catchy.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter what THE PLAN WAS. Batista was the plan at WrestleMania this year and that changed.
ReplyDeleteJericho is 100x the star that Sheamus is or ever will be.
1) This is called foreshadowing. Something tells me Ambrose will make an appearance at Night of Champions. Call me crazy.
ReplyDelete2) Impact to VH1. I'm calling it right now.
3) They could have fed Sheamus to Brock and probably gotten some renewed interest in the fella but why do that when they can run a program headlined by The Big Show!
Mmhmm.
ReplyDeleteThose don't count!! They will never reach the greatness of the Brooklyn Brawler!! I mean, he ALMOST beat the Red Rooster in their blowoff match!
ReplyDeleteSo do we believe Keller and ignore Meltzer, or the other way around?
ReplyDeleteIt's catchy because it's true!
ReplyDeleteWhere the hell in Danville, PA is there a taping facility for this stuff?
ReplyDeleteI'm becoming fascinated with finding out where all the tiny gyms that hosted mid-90s wrestling shows are. I feel like there's a low-level Kickstarter project there.
You're a sensitive guy, huh? That's okay, but I just think it's silly to be so sensitive about an article only 40 people will read on a wrestling website. I don't want you to snap over something so silly like me suggesting you not shit all over something as silly as a silly headline.
ReplyDeleteSince you assumed I was being internet snarky, I'll just assume you were fishing for compliments by being self-deprecating because assumptions are fun.
Right, but I don't need to make that assumption. Because I read what you said. And there's not a different way to interpret it.
ReplyDeleteI'm more than open to legitimate criticisms. When you have one, I'd be happy to discuss it, but I'm good either way.
TL;DR version:
ReplyDeleteThis has gotten silly. I'm very open to criticism, but your original comment came off as straight-up snarky rather than actual, y'know, criticism. I'm not upset about it, and I can't imagine you are either, so...moving on. Glad you liked the article.
I cannot admit I was being a dick. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteThey really found some out-of-the-way places to tape these things. WCW just said to hell with it and taped it all in the same place.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the slowness is with getting the network updated with more Raw episodes since they have Nitro clean to the end of 96.
ReplyDeleteDanville, PA has a population under 5000 according to Wikipedia. If the entire town showed up to a Raw taping these days it'd have a lot of empty seats.
ReplyDeleteEveryone shits all over IRS in these rants but he's a boss for toughing out that wrestling gear for FIVE YEARS. It's uncomfortable sitting at a desk in that shit.
ReplyDeleteTriple H had the best matches at WM22, 27, 28, and 30.
ReplyDeleteSid vs. HBK from 1996. That match brings me so much joy. It's a better version of what they did with Brock vs. Cena this year. Sid killing 96 Shawn and his old fart compatriot while the NYC crowd cheers and cheers. So much happiness in one match.
ReplyDeleteI remember being totally jacked to see Sid vs. Vader at a house show in 96.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm with you 100% so I won't give Rotunda shit for dogging some matches. Like you said, at a desk in an air conditioned office, I'm uncomfortable and fidgeting with my tie and collar all day haha
ReplyDeleteThe match at X7 with Undertaker was awesome, too.
ReplyDeleteI remember Gorilla pretty much said those exact words--"the fans don't wanna see that match!" Fine, but then you put it on two weeks later in the first ever head-to-head battle with Nitro??? Bischoff must have been ecstatic.
ReplyDelete
