  1. Slow news day, but I am contractually obligated to post in these, so.... Umm... Go Dolph!!!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Were with you Dolph! We believe!

    ReplyDelete
  3. OH NO!!!!! NOT VERONICA LANE!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! ANYONE BUT HER!!!!!!!!!

  4. Because he's the Miz everyone already hates him ... but this Moneymaker gimmick he has going now i am totally digging. The ridiculously trendy clothes, Sandow as his stand in, the make-up girl at ringside. Its just awesome. He's just being an old-school, cowardly heel, there isn't enough of that these days.

    ReplyDelete
  5. You mother FUCKER. You got got my joke before I did.

I should post my version anyway just to show you how many more votes a top 3 automatically gets.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm guessing the title goes back to Miz. By the time this feud is over, Miz will be a 26-time IC champ, and Ziggler will be a 34-time IC champ. It will be amaze-balls.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Why are you rooting against Miz? He had been consistently entertaining, can put together a good match and has a face that is not at all punchable... oh I forgot Dolph is your hero... SMARK!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hey, this is one time where 50/50 booking would indeed annoy me!! So go with me on this one!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Bryan was buried after Wrestlemania in the Kane feud!

    ReplyDelete
  10. How DARE he put the safety of his wife as the first priority! he should have thrown her at Kane to cause a distraction, then attacked Kane!

    ReplyDelete
  11. That just seems mean.

    ReplyDelete
  12. ...throwing Brie at Kane may have made him MORE of a face BECAUSE BRIE IS THE SUX0R!

    ReplyDelete
  13. She must have some sort of link/relation with CM Punk #LOLQUIT

    ReplyDelete
  14. You are saying that because they both quit. I get it. I get that joke.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Veronica Lane is a PETULANT CHILD!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yes, that was the joke. *Puts grenade away*

    ReplyDelete
  17. Seriously though if she has a link to Punk... it is likely his penis.

    ReplyDelete
  18. For the record, I'm more Pro-Dolph here than Anti-Miz. I do like both.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Because Dolph puts up lots of ********* AMIRITE?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Did anyone notice the disclaimer on the Network about characters being fictitious and not representing the actual person, or the views of the company? Fucking HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why is it assumed HHH had anything to do with that?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Illusion shattered. This is Santa Claus all over again.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Even if he did... what's the big deal? Does anyone read that shit?

    ReplyDelete
  24. It was before the DX Monday Night War episode. Who's featured very prominently, and who has a corporate position now?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wait... what about Santa Claus?!?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  26. IT'S STILL REAL TO HIM, DAMN IT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Translation: We are stuck with a ton of shows that has a child murderer, and we do not condone of it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I just figured it was talking about Kane and Val Venis who are both Libertarians where as Vince/HHH is a straight up conservative and they don't want any confusion.

    ReplyDelete
  29. TJ: French tennis player Gael Monfils is my new idol, as he brings a duper defensive style to the table, and somehow beats top players in the world with it. Reminds me of my local tennis league, it just baffles me that someone can win high level matches using that style of "Hope my opponent eventually misses".

    ReplyDelete
  30. You're kidding, right? That warning is on all the shows that are above PG, if I recall correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't remember the part about the people playing the characters having different views than the company written the way it was.

    ReplyDelete
  32. How have I never heard of Lucy Pinder before? Holy shit.

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is truly the most news-filled day in the history of our sport!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Stranger in the AlpsSeptember 3, 2014 at 8:48 AM

I watched the SNME from 1/4/86 last night and was amused at Jimmy Hart and JYD resolving their disputes in a water slide contest.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Libertarians and Conservatives share a lot of ideology (perhaps more in theory than practice, of course).

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am well aware of the similarities, and differences both in theory and practice and I think in reality most people that call themselves libertarians are actually just republicans that want to sound smart... I was merely trying to make a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Dude Dolph is so boring ... he just screams BILLY GUNN to me with those white dirt-bike boots, stringy, and breif-style tights ... and the constant almost-pushes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Triple H is a conservative?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't know but I would imagine so.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Slight threadjack .... DID YOU KNOW that Jeff Jarrett wrestled Undertaker on pay per view.

It was as horrible as it sounds.

    ReplyDelete
  41. There is an epic picture on the interwebs of Kane, Ron Paul, and Vince Vaughn. It's like, "what the fuck is this?"

    ReplyDelete
  42. That doesn't sound "epic" at all.

It just sounds notable and interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  43. As an aztec warrior yes.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Huh? Okay then.

    ReplyDelete
  45. He wasn't in corporate mode at all. He was dropping swear words and talking shit on people.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Their feud with the Nation was pretty strong over the summer, though. Once HHH went down with the knee, it went downhill fast. They were good against the Corporation, as well. It's not like they were Kaientai or the Oddities.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It has everything in common with wrestling!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh they were awesome ... but they were firmly in the midcard. That version of HHH was never going to be world champion.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Eric Bischoff. Thought he was great the first time around as Raw GM, up until HLA anyway. Just keep him in a performing rather than creative roll.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I know, but he's probably not going to go too out of line with the backstage details.

"One time I was fucking Chyna in the ass while she was sucking off Vince. We high-fived and then went out for some shrimp. That was when he told me I was winning the WWF title. I was so happy that I called Shawn and he did a line for me. It was the last line of coke he ever snorted."

    ReplyDelete
  51. Its primarily because of matches involving Chris Benoit and the Attitude Era stuff

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wow that sucks because she was fucking hot

    ReplyDelete
  53. Probably not against Austin, but you placed them like they were like 3mb, in today's world.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Why would you expect shit like that from any guest? You're a weirdo. Oh, and HHH does tell kliq drug stories.

    ReplyDelete
  55. It made perfect sense, you just over thought it and have a limited sense of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  56. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130828125915/prowrestling/images/7/76/Veronica_Lane_1.jpg

    http://dailywrestlingnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/veronica-lane.jpg

Not exactly j/o material but those were the best pics google images had of her, this is actually a loss worth mourning

    ReplyDelete
  57. How does that ruin your enjoyment of the shows at all? Were you unaware that the wrestlers portray fictitious characters? Is it still real to you, dammit?

Or did you really believe The Undertaker's story about taking The Big Show to the middle of Death Valley and leaving him there and Show had to walk back carrying his motorcycle on his shoulder while wearing a snake necktie and lizard boots?

    ReplyDelete
  58. They need more hot white chicks too, she's definitely attractive enough to land on her feet though. Sad they are wasting time pushing Emma and Bailey and the rest of the trash and let a much prettier one walk away.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yep, he reached a new level of "trying hard to find anything to complain about". i'd say it's about a 9/10.

    ReplyDelete
  60. They just get pretty randy on these podcasts sometimes, that's all.

    ReplyDelete
  61. They don't get any whiter than Paige.

    ReplyDelete
  62. the doc tho makes it sound like HHH's DX was responsible for the ratings turnaround, it was just kind of funny to me knowing HHH is the boss now how much more importance he's giving hisme.f Don't get me wrong ... he as very important. But it was all Austin-McMahon and anything else was icing on the cake,

    ReplyDelete
  63. To both, relax. It was an observation I made, and I felt it was due to HHH having to protect his new role in life, while showing his past. I know better, and it has no bearing on the enjoyment of shows.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Dean Malenko. He would become a Jack Tunney figure that we only occasionally see and who doesn't favor anybody. Also matches would be scheduled ahead of time on every show.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Old school cowardly heel is a perfect role for Miz.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Speaking of yesterday's QOTD, how about Kurt Angle for GM?

    ReplyDelete
  67. That's a pretty big leap in logic that the disclaimer has to be about Triple H, so I didn't get why you were bothered by it.

    ReplyDelete
  68. That's true, but sadly this girl was even hotter. I guess she was just an interviewer but IMO she was hotter than Renee Young so they fucked up here

    ReplyDelete
  69. Shane would work if they had him be a face to play against evil HHH/Steph. You could do a lot of angles with that.

I'd still rather they not bother with a GM at all - how many authority figures to you need on one wrestling show? Besides, you know they'll just end up giving it to Kane

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'd quit as GM and abolish the position. Authority angles are easily the most tiresome thing in wrestling for me.

    ReplyDelete
  71. How come no one does a podcast recap/summary like Bayless does of his shoots for this site? Wouldn't that be much better material for some of these guys to review?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Kind of like how you leaped to my not enjoying the shows or thinking it's real? It was a thought. That's still allowed I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  73. If you don't see him much and he doesn't favor anyone, what's the point?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Wow that Monday night wars show is complete shit. I watched the new one today, fucking awful

    ReplyDelete
  75. That's a good reason the network is struggling. Vince blows at doing non wrestling TV.

    ReplyDelete
  76. It'd be an even better role for someone who can wrestle a match.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I think it's the "Fucking HHH" part that made us both logically assume that you were enraged about it. That's on you, not us.

    ReplyDelete
  78. True. I guess I will allow you to believe that.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Oh for sure, it was Austin, TYSON, the fallout from Montreal, and then DX , all combined.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Just wanted to break the Jobber consecutive posts streak.

    ReplyDelete
  81. To be honest it was a throwaway phrase that's been used around here before, I didn't think a lot of it.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Libertarians are just Republicans that have made it further through Atlas Shrugged than other people.

    ReplyDelete
  83. The point is a world where we don't have to see authority figures giving big speeches every week and where most matches aren't made by someone going to visit an authority figure in a dressing room.

    ReplyDelete
  84. They show that disclaimer before a ton of shows. It's even on some of the old episodes of World Class.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Fucking Fritz Von Erich...

    ReplyDelete
  86. The authority figure stuff is as stale as 3 month old bread, but if I had to choose, Paul Heyman.

    ReplyDelete
  87. If you have to explain the joke, it isn't funny.

Vince would be more bothered about a guy like Foley, who is very liberal, than he would be about two libertarian wrestlers.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah, he was definitely the best, because he wasn't the outright heel authority figure getting too involved in storylines (until 2005 anyway), just an asshole who made things harder for faces and occasionally dropped the hammer on the heels, too.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I can't stand it and don't understand why praises are getting sung. Nothing we haven't heard before and of course most of it is written in the delusional eyes of the winner.

    ReplyDelete
  90. It didn't need to be explained to anyone but you... so again its on you... not to mention you are the one making assumptions about someone's political leanings and therefore making it not make sense in your mind. Also your fault. You are also the guy that wants to put the strap on Hogan so your decision making credibility is pretty low... so yeah Parallax: 1 MichaelXavier: 0

    ReplyDelete
  91. It appeared before the last Monday Night War episode, too.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Why did RoH drop the traditional PPV? I would probably order again.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I'm not used to it being during the day lol. It's generally when all the East Coasters go to bed and he has a Stream of Consciousness post brigade. I actually enjoy it though.

    ReplyDelete
  94. The term "Republican" is generally used to refer to a political party. "Conservative" and "libertarian" generally refer to political philosophies. Most libertarians do vote republican.

    ReplyDelete
  95. It was embarrassing to watch and also poorly put together. The wwe has zero self awareness and its hurting them here because they are wasting valuable network effort and resources on something that will achieve them nothing.

If they put together an actual well done and accurate docu series on the wars it might have at least gotten them some buzz like 30 for 30 did with ESPN but this is drek that belongs with that shitty cartoon and legends house.

    ReplyDelete
  96. They are doing 2 traditional a year. Best in the World and Final Battle (Dec.)

    ReplyDelete
  97. The opening was fine on the first one but I could tell "oh, we're going there again." I watched the entirety of what happened so I guess I feel insulted by what they're trying to tell me. It's like altering Rock-HHH at Backlash 2000 so that HHH goes over in an edit.

    ReplyDelete
  98. "It didn't need to be explained to anyone but you..."
Who is lining up to pat you on the back regarding your joke? I don't see a single complimentary comment about your hilarity with this one.

My thoughts on Hogan's next title reign have nothing to do with this, and I don't see how that has any affect on my credibility to point out that your comment made no sense. Once WWE pulls the trigger on Hogan -- and they will -- at least my points will be validated.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Ah, okay. I guess I'll order that. December is generally a down month so having two PPVs in the same month will be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I think they'll be building up Elgin vs. Styles for the ROH title at that show. Rumor was actually that they were going to do a title vs. title match even.

    ReplyDelete
  101. "Who is lining up to pat you on the back regarding your joke? I don't see
a single complimentary comment about your hilarity with this one."

What are people suppose do do say "ATTA BOY PARALLAX LOL"?

"My thoughts on Hogan's next title reign have nothing to do with this, and I don't see how that has any affect on my credibility"

Yes they do, your thoughts on that show you are of poor decision making ability... the fact that I have to explain this to you reinforces that you have comprehension issues as well.

"Once WWE pulls the trigger on Hogan -- and they will -- at least my points will be validated."

    I rest my case.

I get 2 points for this one.
    Parallax: 3
    Idiot: 0

    ReplyDelete
  102. That would be cool. I think the winner is pretty obvious though.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Theres nothing going on at work today, maybe I'll watch the rest of unforgiven 04 while the coast is clear. I fell asleep last night watching the Jericho vs Christian ladder match (because I was tired, full, and high not because it was boring)

    ReplyDelete
  104. Tomko vs Stevie Richards might be the worst non gimmick match I've seen on a ppv (including wcw)

    ReplyDelete
  105. Very insulting to the viewer.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Was that the one with Richards in drag? It just kept going and going and going... AND GOING AND GOINNGGG..... It was uncomfortable near the end.

    ReplyDelete
  107. If the BoD continues the way it has been as of late I am going to start handing out a Dumb Fuck of the Day award every day.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Monfils actually goes for a lot in his matches. He can be a great defender because of his athleticism, but he more often litters the stat sheet with winners and unforced errors.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Unless they went the 70's-80's style and did a double-DQ or time limit draw.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Ain't nobody got time for that!

    ReplyDelete
  111. Who wins today?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Yes it was. Yeah it was so bad that it actually it was cringe inducing to watch. I can't imagine what Vince screamed at them back in the locker room but I doubt it was good.

    ReplyDelete
  113. MichaelXavier is the front runner at the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  114. You post an awful joke -- so bad I couldn't even tell it was a joke because of its gross misunderstanding of political terminology (which several people besides me are pointing out) regarding something that has nothing at all to do with politics -- and then you get butthurt when I tell you it doesn't make sense. You win the day, I guess.

But I can make up a point system too!

  115. More importantly...Did Steven Ferrari get my family on the front page of the queens tribune???

    ReplyDelete
  116. I've only started noticing him a few months ago, he is indeed capable of a big shot, but wow, it's incredible when he goes in "I dare you to hit a winner against me" mode. And most of the time, it actually works!

    ReplyDelete
  117. "You post an awful joke -- so bad I couldn't even tell it was a joke
because of its gross misunderstanding of political terminology"

No misunderstanding, and again you continue to show comprehension issues throughout the thread.

"regarding something that has nothing at all to do with politics"

LOL politics are personal views dipshit. 1-800-ABCDEFG

"and then you get butt hurt when I tell you it doesn't make sense."

No butt hurt just pointing out the intellect issues you have.

"But I can make up a point system too!

    MichaelXavier: CENAWINSLOL"

Oh I get it because people often say CENAWINSLOL good job.

Just stop while you have some dignity left.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Wait, who are you again?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Comprehension issues bothering you again?

    ReplyDelete
  120. Honestly, I miss someone at an update desk just announcing matches and going from there.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Don't try to be clever, it isn't in your intellectual wheelhouse.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Let me know when you start, I'll try my hardest to win the first one.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Just read the comments from earlier. You are correct.

    ReplyDelete
  124. You couldn't possibly be stupid enough to even be considered.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Then I will gladly accept the award!

    ReplyDelete
  126. You don't get a say in the matter, but I am glad you are accepting your shortcomings.

    ReplyDelete
  127. He had some dignity to start? I was sure the "HOGAN SHOULD BE CHAMP!" stuff ruled that out.

Also, is Michael Xavier either Ed Leslie or Jimmy Hart? Because if he is... I still don't give more than one-tenth of a shit.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Oh course he does. He's the only one who remembers anything.

    Really not a big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I had never noticed it before, with the specific language it used. It's not a big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I would laugh but seriously ... look at how they dismiss Chyna. I know she's a drugg-addled pornstar now, but she was arguably more over than HHH was for most of his mid-card DX run. The only mention of her in the MNWs doc they uploaded yesterday was her boob job.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I was glad this one at least gave heavy props to the Triple H/HBK/Chyna/Rude group and not just heaving praise on the second version. The first group in late 97 was awesome and was basically the second reason to watch after Austin. The importance of the second version (beginning the night after WM14) has obviously been overstated many times, but they were still important.

    ReplyDelete
  156. It seems the BoD roster nowadays is more bloated than late-90s WCW. Maybe some people can be demoted to BoD Saturday Night or the BoD Power Hour?

    ReplyDelete
  157. Both are awesome! I also believed in Vader living in a White Castle of Fear, until a disclaimer told me he was only a character on a wrestling program. Fuck HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I kind of want to get one of those Surface Pro tablets down the road.

Which is why it was interesting when they reformed DX in late 1999 and she had nothing to do with it, despite being with Triple H when he first won the title.

  166. Big Update: TNA Live Events Reportedly On Hold, Company Currently Focusing on its TV Product
    http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/507689-big-update-tna-live-events-reportedly-on-hold-company-currently-focusing-on-its-tv-product

According to both PWInsider.com and the Talk is TNA Podcast, TNA Live Events are currently on hold for the foreseeable future, and and as we noted late last week there has been more talk of office departures within the company recently.

Some of the office releases came from the live events department, as TNA is reportedly focusing its attention on its TV product for the time being.

Following this weekend’s Impact tapings in North Carolina and Virginia, TNA will hold tapings next week in Bethlehem, PA and then the Bound For Glory PPV on 10/12 in Tokyo.

After Bound For Glory, there are no TNA events scheduled until the UK tour in January 2015.

Smart move that they've should've done months ago. When they can only draw 100 people to a house show in a BASEBALL STADIUM, they're obviously wasting their time and money. There's no reason why TNA needs to do house shows if they don't make the company any money. Plus, the roster is so heavily depleted who is going to be the main draws at this point? No Bully Ray, no Angle, etc.

Of course, they're finally focusing on TV when they're only set to be on TV for three more months. LOLTNA

  167. Bischoff was more than acceptable also

  168. I like them enough but a couple thoughts.
    1) Why 2 a week? With this being probably the most anticipated original show they were going to have why not do once a week like a normal show?
    2) Not a fan of each show having a specific subject and then going over the whole timeframe of the MNW with that subject (NWO, DX, etc). Id rather they just go week by week going over the shows, what happened, why it happened, what worked, what didnt, make fun of the crap, and praise the well done stuff. Or at least pick out a number of very important weeks and do that.

  169. Bischoff said in his book that he did something similar in 1993. Losing money on house shows? LET'S STOP DOING HOUSE SHOWS FOR A WHILE. Makes sense.

Threadjack: Am I wrong for moving and not telling the chick I kind of live with?
I mean like she'd leave on Friday and when she came back to the apartment on Sunday it would be empty.

  171. She might be curious as to what the hell happened.

  172. They actually have people employed for live events? Those people should've been canned when they couldn't sell out high school gyms.

The stadium idea is something that kind of worked once and should never have been done again once the numbers dropped.

  177. I wish they could just go to the old WCW sets and have a rotating ring and "steam powered" doors

  178. They don't need GMs without distinct brands anymore. To bring that back would defy logic. I guess they could use a WWE Commissioner.

Honestly, anyone who can do what Teddy Long did. Stroll out occasionally and make a match and that's it. They need to shelf the heel authority figure for a long, long time.

Less is better. Put the focus back on the wrestlers. I think you'd want someone who would be a fan favorite, who isn't tempting to throw into a match or angle at this point.

It should be Jim Ross, he's the Gorilla Monsoon like elder statesman at this point, but Vince wouldn't be able to help himself and would have to humiliate him.

So I'd say give it to Dusty Rhodes. Or Flair who they're paying to do nothing anyway. Or actually bring back Teddy Long to stroll down the aisle and make as many six man tags as humanely possible.

I guess the point is whoever it, I don't want to see them very much.

  181. Styles is the only guy to pin Elgin in over a year (he did it like a month and a half before Elgin won the title)

It's their biggest match and they are definitely going to fire for their second traditional ppv.

The card for this I-ppv ain't bad though. Good matches and Jay Briscoe hasn't been pinned or made to submit in 2 years so he's as credible a challenger as they can feed to Elgin until the Styles match in December.

  185. So last night I went to deposit some money at the drive thru ATM at the bank. I insterted my money and the machine spat about 2/3rds of it back out then it the screen said "Your card has been captured for security reasons. Please contact your financial institution." So I called the bank's 800-number when I got home and they said they have no idea why my card got taken as it has no security problems or holds on it. So now I have to go back to the bank in a bit to get my card back. ARghhhh

  187. I have an original programming idea for the Network: Take the WWE 2k15 game (maybe even 2k14) and have gamers compete in a tournament, sort of like Madden Nation. They could make a 12-week series hosted by Renee Young out of that and let current roster guys buddy up with the gamers using them.
