Can you put up on a plug post on the blog? I feel like we got all the boards that we need set up, now we just need people to come and post. And mods. Lots of mods. Thanks.
Only $9.99!
Actually, it's ad-free for two weeks as a trial and then I'd have to pay $5 a month or so to remove them. But please do come and post, as cultstatus says.
Thanks! If anyone wants to mod, let me know here or on the forum http://rspwfaq.boards.net/
ReplyDeleteIf you're a guest or a lurker, you can view any of the threads except for the classic BoD posts or Thread Jack City. Gotta sign up to view the good stuff.
I'm not good with change and don't really understand what is happening. Anyone kind enough to fill me in?
ReplyDeleteThere has been a "Quality Control" issue on the BoD
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until we get to the modern classics, like where to my horror I found out Steve Stennick lives less than 15 minutes from me.
ReplyDeleteThe blog will still be the same, just telling folks to move the thread jacking and other stuff on the forum.
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity did Scott ever restrict the other people with posting priviledges? I'm not sure how less people commenting here is going to make for less posts from those people is all, unless I totally missed something.
ReplyDeleteUgh.
ReplyDeleteStop trying to kill the comment section
I really don't think a forum was what anyone meant in regards to quality control around here.
ReplyDeleteHey, but where else can people circle jerk about their posts from three years ago?
ReplyDeleteCool, thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis seems more like what's happening and I don't understand why it's needed. I don't understand how it helps the blog. It just seems like a mission in futility.
ReplyDeleteThe Kevin Kelly one was especially good this week and is worth a listen for anyone with a little time to kill.
ReplyDeleteGives people like me a chance to write without cluttering up the Blog, get some practice and what not. I don't see how the Forums can hurt anything around here.
ReplyDeleteI think there is going to be a more coherent schedule (Read: There will be one) on when articles get posted here as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's gotten tooowerful for its own good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lax. I really recommend Main Event too this week... they had an awesome talk about the Network and pros and cons of WWE as a whole right now.
ReplyDeleteYou mean the one located at http://placetobenation.com/ptbns-main-event-episode-17-pros-and-cons/
ReplyDeleteGiddy up!
ReplyDeleteFound the Reneke meltdown post! It's up on the forum now.
ReplyDeleteI have no interest in becoming a member of a forum that would have someone like me as a member.
ReplyDeleteNobody is killing anything dude. It's just a more focused place for people to bullshit about stuff that isn't posted here.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the old "nobody here understands that women must be respected!" white-knighting.
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten all about that. I think I was just lurking then.
Wow that proceeded to suck ass fast. A couple tips: limit down the forums. You don't need 30 different individual forums, one for comics one for sports one for wrestling etc would suffice.
ReplyDelete2) If this is your answer to getting rid of most writers an forcing them there great. I really don't want to read most of them anyway. Keep them there.
3) I would never post anywhere where others have the ability to edit my posts. I don't trust any of you enough to leave posts alone to even post on a forum you run. Get yourself some rules for moderators to follow then start making rules for everyone else.
4) why? Most people come here to read articles and comment in them. Thread jacks happen no big deal. You're just shooting your nose to spite your face.
"I would never post anywhere where others have the ability to edit my posts"
ReplyDeleteDING DING DING
I'm 38, not particularly tech savvy, and lazy as Bret Hart at a house show. So....what the fuck is this now?
ReplyDeleteI seriously don't trust the people here to leave posts unedited and also to not go power mad and delete anything they don't agree with. Petulant children should never be in positions of power.
ReplyDeleteWell the Admin sort of makes it his gimmick to cut my posts in half then yell at me for them so yeah, fuck the forum, lol.
ReplyDeleteA new forum for clutter and past events.
ReplyDeleteAll the lulz
ReplyDeleteYou beautiful beautiful man
ReplyDeleteYeah check out the forum, relive the meltdowns and critique amateur reviews.
ReplyDeleteI have posted.
ReplyDeleteAnd I will be posting a lot about NBA.
You leave this comment but you upvote his. Quit trying to make everyone happy all the time.
ReplyDelete411mania: THE MESSAGE BOARD
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, looks good. Props for importing the cool stuff.
Biff, I wish you the very best and hope your writing gets to where you want it to be. Best of luck in the forums.
ReplyDeleteSo my question is:
ReplyDeleteWhat did you do with the subterranean trolls from the previous forums? Do these new forums have a place for them to fantasy draft and day trade wrestlers from 1984?
Kevin Kelly bringing the aggressive stance that the stars whose photos were leaked "got what they deserved." Yikes.
ReplyDeleteHappy that it's up. It's been great reading the old shit. Ryan Murphy purposely misspelling words as a drunk gimmick is fun as well.
ReplyDeleteHe's gimmickless!
ReplyDeleteI know the forum is for random stuff, but is there going to be a Live thread every night still?
ReplyDeleteChris Candido baby.
ReplyDeleteTouche!
ReplyDeleteI think the forum will die just like the ones in the past have. That said there are two issues, one that many agree with, and one that's more personal to myself. The first is too much garbage being posted on the main page and really not being worthy of our time. Even if the writing is good, do we really care about any indy fed that maybe 3 people who post here actually watch?
ReplyDeleteThe second issue is more of a "get off my lawn" type issue. I've been posting on this blog on and off since almost the day it started. I've seen lots of great posters come and go (miss Flair4thegold and CHough) and lots more horrible posters come. I do miss the day when it was a hardcore group of hundred folks posting in threads that were only started by Scott. It was easier to keep up with stuff and yes threads got jacked, but it was all in one place and a topic didn't get pushed down the page by eight other threads in 5 hours. There are great discussions to be had on many topics, but sometimes they don't start in the first 90 minutes of being posted and sometimes they require the input of folks that don't have jobs or lives that allow them to spend all day reading and posting. I almost feel like it's pointless to comment on something because I don't have the time for the back and forth in a short time span and when I do get back to make a followup reply, the person I'm debating with has moved on to something else.
But as I noted, the 2nd issue is more my own personal nostalgia for the "good old days" and my own time/family/work constraints that don't limit some others. Ultimately though, it's important to remember that this site is to make money for Scott. He makes money off of ads and the more page views he gets, the more money he makes. That may mean more topics by authors who aren't up to snuff, or more topics that have a small niche audience.
I totally get your second point, as far as not being able to reply to a post immediately. It means sometimes we won't be able to engage in conversations with others, and that is annoying.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I enjoy KK's show but his stance on that topic was completely wrong.
