  3. OK guys, should I be worried about the review embargo for a The Evil Within? I have the game pre-ordered for PS3 but I guess I can always switch it to something else if I hear nothing but bad things after the weekend. I still haven't played The Last of Us yet.

  13. There's a good old fashioned sheet war between pwi and won, or at least pwi taking super cheap shots.

Mike Johnson criticized DM for reporting about the punk/TNA thing. He called TNA and they denied it, and then stole a story from another website about punk at the ovw show. Meltzer no sold it all.

What did they do, have them sign a contract that they'll allow them to play the game in exchange for no early reviews?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Extant1979 - Ghetto SuperstarOctober 9, 2014 at 6:05 PM

Yeah, but you can't know how a game plays just by looking at it.

  24. Nah. The game is going to be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Right now you can play the game legally so the non official reviews should be pouring in tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Extant1979 - Ghetto SuperstarOctober 9, 2014 at 6:07 PM

The risk of losing access to future items is what keeps those embargoes from being breached.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 9, 2014 at 6:08 PM

I was just trying to figure out how what they'd do if they got a bad review, so breaching a contract is what I figured.

  28. Meltzer wrote in the Observer how on the New Japan UStream page, it said that the service was done but gave an indication to check on New Japan's US page for info on how to watch the 10/13 Sumo Hall show but when you went to the US page, there was no info. He then said that some people have figured out how to order it on the Japan iPPV provider, Nicocino, but that he was personally unaware on how to do that.

New responsibility at the network: Making front-end graphics for highlights (basically, the graphic of the team logos going into a highlight). Just spent eight hours making all the graphics the studio show will need for the college football stuff on the weekend. Not super hard, the background template is already in place, I just inset the team logos, make sure all the supporting elements match the school colors, make sure the rankings are right, and adding effects. It's pretty neat, here's the Wake/Florida St graphic I made for last week.

You gotta check them out, of course they have scores from all the games, but man it's worth it. They take scores that you hear from the KH games and transform them in such a way that some sound better than the game versions. They are on iTunes right now.

    ReplyDelete
  87. TY HIlton with the most garbage touchdown of the season thus far!

    ReplyDelete
  89. what's the score?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 9, 2014 at 6:39 PM

    GOTCHA LAST!

    ReplyDelete
  91. 10-0 but this TD is getting called back. Indy is all over them, scored on the first drive, kicker recovered his own onside kick, and they're already down on the 3.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Colts just scored a TD, but it's being reviewed and probably called back to the 2 yard line so it'll stay 3-0 Colts.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Oh Texans.......why do you break my heart?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Soccer usually falls into two main levels of competition:

International: National teams play each other in World Cup Qualifiers set by region (NA, SA, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania). The top 32 teams to come out of those regions then go on to the World Cup Finals, which was the big tournament in Brazil this summer.

National teams also play friendlies against each other outside the qualifying, basically to gel the team, try new players and tactics, and keep the players in shape.

"National" : Many countries (England, Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, USA, Mexico etc...) have their own domestic leagues also.

Other than the US, every one has multiple tiers (think baseball's minor leagues, but without the MLB teams able to "run" their own systems, EVERY team being independently run.) Between these tiers, there is a promotion and relegation system that triggers yearly, dropping the bottom 2-4 teams down a league and promoting the top 2-4 teams up a league.

I'll stop here, just feel free to ask for details on anything interesting/confusing.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  97. Makes sense but this seems like a lot of soccer teams. so exactly how many teams are there? ballpark

    ReplyDelete
  98. Very nice. Also, YOU'RE GOING DOWN, SUCKA!

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  99. 3-3 after 40. What a chokejob, Devils, fuuuuuck. lol

    ReplyDelete
  100. Ahh, the modern NFL....running from 4 wide inside the five. The league became Madden so gradually I hardly noticed

    ReplyDelete
  101. Highest percentage of runs at the goal line is only 68%... and that's Seattle with Beast Mode.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yep, just lamenting smash mouth (n. band) football of old

    ReplyDelete
  103. I wonder how hard Dracula will bomb. I'd swear they're on their 3rd or 4th different campaign to sell it

    ReplyDelete
  104. belichick needs to bring the whole band back together for one last run. Romeo, Weiss

    ReplyDelete
  105. That's sick. Ohh I need to get the Bad Boys, hope I can play as them.

    ReplyDelete
  106. It's crazy. Passing yards are out of control, and the days of a one back team are long gone. It's a two back league now.

    ReplyDelete
  107. England supports TWENTY FOUR (holy fuck) levels of soccer, with thousands of teams. However, the vast majority of those are amateur, with teams and players on the level of your local rec league.

As for their "majors", I'd call their top four levels "major", with 20 (Premier League), 24 (Championship), 24 (League 1), and 24 (League 2) teams in them.

    ReplyDelete
  108. What's one film that you could watch every single day for the rest of your life if you had to? I'd go with The Shining.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Now I'm wondering why Crennel never went back. Weiss, I understand. He sold himself pretty well for a while, but if Romeo was gonna d-coordinate why not get his old gig back?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Yep, which seems even odder when you consider teams rush less now than ever. "Back in my day" backs would get 30+ carries

    ReplyDelete
  111. HC aspirations so fart around in places a good showing could let you jump up? Though it'd be just as easy rebuilding Pats d and leaving if that was only it

    ReplyDelete
  112. US equivalent would be the NBA not only keeping records of it's own league and the D-League, but also the NCAA and any small rec league that could fulfill some very basic requirements. (Court, balls, goals, and uniforms pretty much.)

    ReplyDelete
  113. Exactly. There wasn't a game where Thurman Thomas didn't get at least 20 carries a game, and he'd last the whole year, every year, at the top of the stat charts. I'm not making light of the concussion work the NFL has done to prevent, but guys used to be tougher 20 years ago. Where's Iron Head Craig Heyward? Where's Christian Okoye the Nigerian Nightmare?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Shawshank, thanks to tnt/amc/dvds, probably have seen it 75+ times

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  116. Swell...another Thursday night shitkicking in progress.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I end up watching the Godfather every time AMC shows it. Spent a whole Sunday watching 1 and 2 one day when I was supposed to be doing stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Other countries:

    Germany: Bundesliga (18 teams), 2.Bundesliga (18 teams), 3.Liga (20 teams), then semi-pro leagues.
France: Ligue 1 (20 teams), Ligue 2 (20 teams), Championnat National (18 teams), amateur leagues.

    and so on...

    ReplyDelete
  119. The Shining is a tough sell. It's great and it's fun to look at scenes different each time... but it's pretty long and drawn out.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Is the play actually better being all under one roof?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Internationally, 203 national teams attempted to qualify for the 2014 World Cup, with 32 making it to the Finals in Brazil.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  131. Todd Gurley is lost for the season over 400 bucks. It'd have to be at least 5 figures to make it worth my while to do anything that jeopardizes my season.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Teams aren't using 2-back or RB-by-committee systems to protect players from concussions. They're doing it because it's cheaper and more efficient to pay 2-4 RBs decent money than paying one star RB a ton of money.

    ReplyDelete
  133. (Semi-lapsed NFLer)Where'd Houston's old QB end up? The ex-Falcon?

    ReplyDelete
  134. Plus, I think teams are realizing that the RB position is deeper than it used to be. Arian Foster was undrafted and is an elite back. Every other week there's a second or third string guy that busts out a great game.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Oakland to get benched for David Carr's little brother.

    ReplyDelete
  139. MikeyMike, WitnessOctober 9, 2014 at 7:01 PM

    Kurt Angle mashup theme. Ew.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Wouldn't you think that after AJ Green, Georgia would learn or have something in place?

    ReplyDelete
  141. Didn't/not renewing I take it?

    ReplyDelete
  142. Yeah, they have guys suspended all the time. A.J. Green almost lost his last season over the same crap.

    ReplyDelete
  143. His fall from grace was the most dramatic I can remember for an NFL QB. I hate the term, but he was borderline elite starting last season... but six straight games with a pick 6 to start the year crushed him for good.

    ReplyDelete
  144. TURN DOWN FOR WATT?!

    ReplyDelete
  145. after all this time I think they are immune to it. Richt knows he's going to lose 3 guys every year. It's probably a recruiting pitch. Hey kid you'll play early, cause the guy starting will probably get kicked of the team

    ReplyDelete
  146. Solomon Wilcotts just tweeted, "Andrew Luck doesn't need a whole lot of luck when the Texans give up plays like that." Boooo.....

    ReplyDelete
  147. I hate taking pleasure in someone else's pain but it was so much fun watching that trainwreck.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I think TY Hilton has 125 yards receiving already

Game 1 of the NLCS is on FOX Saturday Night (when they have nothing on anyway) but then the next several games are back on FS1. I'm sure it's because of their fall TV schedule coinciding with the opportunity to pimp their shitty new network.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Lol and to continue the trend of Thursday night blowouts. Colts bout to make this 24-0

Cant believe Vegas only had this at Colts - 2 1/2. I GLADLY took advantage

  159. Me too. I didn't see a blow out like this, though.

    ReplyDelete
  160. He is. I didnt fully buy into the hype when he was in college, but he is the real deal. Props to Colts making the decision on dropping Peyton and grabbing this kid.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Wilcotts is the absolute worst. We get all the Bills games in Western NY, and he's calling most of them. Sounds like he's saying Buffalo Beews.

  162. It pisses me off that the Colts and their shithead father/son owner tandem stumbled into once in a generation QBs not once, but twice.

  163. I didnt either. I was thinking a low-ish scoring 21-13 game myself

  164. 2 of my fantasy teams had TY Hilton. 1 of my opponents has Luck. I don't start Hilton against him.

    I fucking suck.

  165. THIS! That Sunday night game was the apex. Dude looked so defeated after that but they still didn't want to bench him. Was that also the heart attack week?

  166. It's going off my expired card. I just don't care enough about them anymore to renew it.

  167. We can still hope that Luck pulls a RG3.

Tried Tinder and got a match and then a message that the girl "Is new here" and gave me her number to meet up. That'd be awesome if it was legit but I'm quite hesitant to think it actually is lol.

  169. get her to text you a picture. If she does then you kinda know it's legit.

  170. That might still carry over. Expired cards often are approved with a recurring billing.

  173. He was benched by that point for Case Keenum.

  174. Spent my afternoon speaking with an engineer who feels that even though his shoddy design is largely responsible for 2000 dead pigs, and a 600K+ loss to my company, raising his premium from 8,000 to 11,000 is somehow screwing him.

Kind of a stupid question, but where did the whole Vince being 10 years behind on everything joke start, was it when the Heidenrich/Cole incident happened and they said they got it from Pulp Fiction?
