Comments

  1. The Raw ratings were helped by the fact that MNF was a blowout, but that third-hour drop can't be healthy.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Hogan = Ratings

Start the build to Hogan vs Cena for Mania now.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Hogan should talk about breast cancer every week, brother!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yeah, the MNF game was crap but I thought that would have helped the 3rd hour. Then again there was some brutal stuff on that third hour

The Wyatts are splitting, and they're not even keeping Rowan and Harper as a team? I find that questionable for a number of reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The team has run its course and barely even gets to be on RAW anymore. Makes sense to me

    ReplyDelete
  7. Still hoping that they pony up some money to get Cena/Brock in the cell, but it's not looking good.

    ReplyDelete
  8. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:22 AM

But what do you do with them? Does Bray get repackaged? At least you could make a serviceable JTTS team out of the other two, but what about him?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeah, I want to hate this, but it just doesn't make sense anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Harper gets a singles push and Rowan gets repackaged. Not looking to good for Rowan at the moment

    ReplyDelete
  11. They've killed Bray dead. Good job, team. Great stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  12. yes but this is all booking. They ran their course because Vince and Co decided not to put them over the Uso's when they were super hot and then deciding they could only focus on 2 tag teams at a time so they went with Uso/Dust Brothers.

Rowan and Harper are a great team and could still have a lot of mileage in them.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:25 AM

Repackaged as what, though? Are they just going to bring him out with a new gimmick and pretend the cult leader stuff never happened? I mean, it wouldn't be the first time they've pulled that stunt, but in this day and age I don't know if the fans will go for it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It makes sense..for a cult leader not to have a cult................. Breaking up Rowan and Harper is a terrible idea to me. I'd be happy to be wrong about this but I don't see Rowan getting over on his own. Harper should be ok though

    ReplyDelete
  15. Based on the vignettes, it looks lie Bray is setting them free

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yeah, the Wyatts had some entertaining matches and Bray cut some good promos, but the whole thing has felt like wasted potential. The expectations were high and they just never had Bray's promos translate to anything meaningful in a feud. I think they are a stable that would've worked best with Russo.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Looks like a habit's formed. Some people are gonna bail in hour 3 no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:26 AM

So he's a One Man Cult now? Eh.

    ReplyDelete
  19. He should be OK, but I can't see them doing anything with him other than Hillbilly Sheamus.

    ReplyDelete
  20. They had the whole audience on board for a new gimmick and did absolutely nothing with it to the point that we are all expecting 2 of the 3 guys to be DOA when they split.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It worked for George Gray! Soon Bray can become the next Akeem!

    ReplyDelete
  22. They are probably retooling that as well. The gimmick ran its course and they are changing it and I think that is a sensible decision to be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The Ascension will get their spot as the powerhouse tag team anyway so a breakup might help them out more

    ReplyDelete
  24. They need to bring back the brand extension and make Smackdown mean something again. That way you can do a break-up like this and it work.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I feel the same way about The Shield, too. Entertaining matches, but never a meaningful, captivating feud. I just don't get how this company has three hours of Raw and can't think of anything interesting to do with these stables that fans are dying to see.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The Cena feud killed him and Bray's promos never went anywhere after that as it all felt recycled so a change is a good thing. Why have him spiral down further with a dead end gimmick?

    ReplyDelete
  27. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:29 AM

Yeah, it's hard to defend this one.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Just tweak "cult leader" into "crazy prophet" and go with that. Small adjustment

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree with you...

    ReplyDelete
  30. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:30 AM

I see "fat dancing comedy heel" in his future. Might be a lateral move, career-wise.

    ReplyDelete
  31. At least with the Shield they were all booked fairly strong and had a game plan to a degree for each guy. Where Rowan/Harper jobbed out of the division and Bray ...well..we all know what's happened there

    ReplyDelete
  32. And I meant to reply to someone else

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hell, they almost didn't go for Bray with the Husky Harris chants when he debuted.

    ReplyDelete
  34. BTW that's exactly why no one wanted Norris catching that game. Who cares if he and Lester are used to each other. Norris is the worst day to day player the A's have ever had

    ReplyDelete
  35. There was no need to have the Wyatt-Cena feud if this was the end game. They had something cool going with Wyatt and it's dead.

    ReplyDelete
  36. lol, OK. I was confused for a second.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:33 AM

You must be elated by this Wyatt news.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Cena vs Rollins and Ambrose vs Rollins are fine but why do it an a hitc. If you have to use that played out as gimmick the matches that make sense are Rollins vs Ambrose and Cena vs Lesnar but Vince is in the shit diapers stage of life so we get something else.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It was cool... but what was his end game? Like we talked about with O'Haire... the vignettes and ideas are nice, but what is his goal? To build a cult to do what? Hard to identify with those types of characters.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Then people can complain about how they need to end the split. Circle of life

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hopefully after the single pushes fizzle out Bray gets sent back to nxt like the fat dinosaur dancer dude.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I did this. Moaned about the split and the two world titles for a decade straight. Now I'd bring them back. Bah.

    ReplyDelete
  43. You can have a stable that dominates the WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  44. RAW IS DEAN

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah but he never said he wanted to win titles, or make money... why do they want to dominate? Why do they wrestle?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Unless Rowan/Harper change characters because they are no longer brainwashed, Rowan vs. the Bunny is just too obvious, right? I guess Harper could join the Sheamus/Cesaro hoss division. Since I don't think Bray has won a major match without the Wyatts interfering, I'm not sure he can realistically hang in the title hunt.

I know he's not done much, but holy cow have the last 14 months just killed Orton; he is ADR level to me. Now, Orton is (theoretically) the reward for losing a match, leading to a match we've probably seen but would have far less heat than Ambrose-Rollins or a match we've seen eleventy billion times.

Will be interesting to see if MLB postseason (assuming there is a game on Monday) dings the viewership.

    ReplyDelete
  47. He was a horror movie character on the dumbest show on tv. No way in hell that was ever going to work.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I was for it from day 1. Less over-exposure, we'd see wrestlers once a week instead of twice.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The "Why does he wrestle?" thing can apply to an overwhelming percentage of other wrestlers too. Sometimes it's best not to over think it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The writers can't write that in there for him? I mean, can't they eventually have a wrestler develop?

    ReplyDelete
  51. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:40 AM

ECW gimmick in a PG world. Yeah, it was definitely doomed. Too bad, because the fans seemed willing to go along for the ride, but there was no destination.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Except he's a evil swap guy. What's the point and why is he on my tv

    ReplyDelete
  53. And seriously why was Chris Hero too fat but I had to see that slob in the Hawaiian shirt wrestle fucking john Cena at mania? What a waste

    ReplyDelete
  54. Why didn't they use Dunn in that game, even as a pinch hitter? Why even go out and get him then?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Why did the "best" pitcher in the al give up 6 earned runs and 8 hits in 7.1 innings? Trading cespeses doomed the season from the jump.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Dunn sucks and is totally washed up anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Put all four of them in a cell. They all have issues with each other. The fatal 4-way would be different for HIAC. If not, then Cena goes over Ambrose (not what the universe wants) or we have, once again Cena vs. Orton.

Best would be Cena vs. Lesner and Ambrose vs. Rollins in the HIAC.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Again, this can relate to almost any wrestler's gimmick in history. (except for the "swap" part)

    ReplyDelete
  59. What do the 411 recaps say about him? Is it good or bad?

    ReplyDelete
  60. He has power at least. No one else does.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Maybe one of the most counter-productive trades in history. Their team chemistry just got destroyed the moment the trade happened.

    ReplyDelete
  62. HOLY HYBERBOLE

    ReplyDelete
  63. I didn't read the word "wrestle" in your first sentence originally, and wondered which WrestleMania you were thinking of.

    ReplyDelete
  64. It worked fine for a while, then Vince got too protective and greedy over RAW, and turned Smackdown into a glorified feeder system. Now it's not even that, just another two hours for the TV deal.

    ReplyDelete
  65. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:47 AM

Sounded good in theory and started off strong, but then the disparity between the brands became too much to ignore and Smackdown might have been on the verge of being cancelled if not for SyFy taking the leap.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Bad move and Lester will sign elsewhere in free agency

    ReplyDelete
  67. That would be pretty cool. Fuck it add Orton and Kane in there and rehash Armageddon 2000.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hey, the goal of that trade was to not lose to Detroit in the playoffs again this year. GOAL ACCOMPLISHED!!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wait, his .270 was the best average among starters/regulars?

    HOW IN THE FUCK?

    ReplyDelete
  70. The brand split was good when they actually kept it separate. Once they put everyone on raw anyways and did the same ppvs it was awful. In theory it was a good idea.

    ReplyDelete
  71. The Brand Split PPVs drew poorly and they tweaked it to the point that the brands meant nothing

    ReplyDelete
  72. Wanna lick my ass while your mom sucks my cock?

    ReplyDelete
  73. OMG BURN! I DON'T WATCH EVERY MOMENT OF WWE TV!!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I am not blaming him... just saying why those characters are tough to make work.

    ReplyDelete
  75. If they have Cena beat Ambrose and THEN beat Rollins, I just won't even know what to say anymore.......

    ReplyDelete
  76. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:50 AM

An evil swinger is a gimmick I'm surprised WWE never tried. Although I guess Viscera was close enough.

    ReplyDelete
  77. you could say #LOLCENAWINSX2

    ReplyDelete
  78. Throw the bunny in there instead of Kane.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Sadly, the same ball busting Orton went through is now being done to Rollins.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Cena vs Rollins would be an awesome match. I see nothing bad about that (other than no Rollins vs ambrose in a hell in the cell match)

    ReplyDelete
  81. Unfortunately the real goal of the trade was to not pay cespeses in 2015. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. If MLB runs a game against MNF, they deserve the shitkicking they'll get.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I know.

    CENAWINSLOL

    THEN
    NOW
    FOREVER

    ReplyDelete
  84. I would be for that IF the tag champs and world champ went across both shows. I hated having two world champions. However, budget cuts won't let them grow the roster enough for a good brand split. How are you going to do a three hour RAW in a brand split era with the current crop? You'd get rematches out the ying yang even more than now.

    ReplyDelete
  85. So basically, Ambrose and Rollins have the hottest feud in the company, so we have to transfer this to Cena because Vince.

    ReplyDelete
  86. They should just play video of Triple H vs Nash in the cell for all the people in the arena instead of running Cena vs Rollins.

    ReplyDelete
  87. "Rollins has until the seventh inning stretch to answer the challenge from Dean Ambrose!"

    ReplyDelete
  88. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 9:54 AM

Am I missing something with Rollins? He obviously has megaheat now because of the Shield breakup and all, but beyond that he seems like a completely average midcard heel. Of course, so was HHH, so maybe that explains a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Let's keep in mind that this is not confirmed yet, but yeah, I would not like it if it's indeed the case.

    ReplyDelete
  90. As a fan, I don't think there's anything sad about it. Rollins is great as a talented but inept heel. It suits him because he, like Orton, naturally comes across as being a bit slow-witted.

    ReplyDelete
  91. The way Rollins is being booked right now he's not really a threat to anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Well, at least HHH hasn't turned face and pitted himself against Rollins yet.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Rollins vs Cena is a money feud, and one I'd be happy to see. Also Cena puts over all the iwc darlings. My confusion is why not do ambrose vs Rollins at hitc then move on to Rollins vs cena

    ReplyDelete
  94. When Dean Ambrose and Cena stand side by side, it makes Cena look that much worse. Dean comes off 10x cooler ever time.

    ReplyDelete
  95. It would be funny if, somehow/some way, Erick Rowan becomes the biggest star of the group.

    ReplyDelete
  96. The problem is that Cena will more than likely go over at a time when they should be protecting Rollins.

    ReplyDelete
  97. That match drew surprisingly well. Probably helped that Foley was the guest ref too.

    ReplyDelete
  98. That halftime thing as one of the dumbest things this company ever did.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I don't think you get the issue people have with it.

Some of the matches at Bound for Glory will be great, I'm sure, but, just like those, what purpose would Cena/Rollins serve? Cena winning AGAIN? I know they've got to keep him strong -- wouldn't want to accidentally build new stars.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I also hate this binary take on stables and teams. They are either on or off...Why can't the Wyatts be doing their own thing but still loosely connected and the others could come out of the woodwork at any point? Like with Reigns and Ambrose. Why don't they ever have each others back they have no issues with each other other than they both got back stabbed but ...the shield is broke up so they can't act like they know each other.

    ReplyDelete
  101. It was the same when Reigns was in Ambrose's current spot. One looks like a bad-ass man, the other looks like a dorky man-child.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Cena and Ambrose fighting over who gets to get their hands on Rollins first is a more interesting dynamic, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  103. To be fair, anyone would look like a dorky man-child in Cena's gear. Ambrose in jorts and a neon t-shirt would look like a sex offender. Especially with his receding hairline.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Pretty sure you accidentally pasted your craigslist ad here by mistake.

btw - Are you drunk, or is this about the level you're normally at?

    ReplyDelete
  105. It was also sad that Foley had to do the biggest bump in the match.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I see zero point in breaking up the Wyatts. I guess since they're not really 'officially' breaking up, Bray can summon his minions back for a random tag match or feud in the future, yet as has been pointed out....a cult leader without a cult is a pretty lame gimmick. Also, cults don't let their charges "go back out into the world" since that's the whole point of being in a cult.

    ReplyDelete
  107. What purpose would Cena vs Rollins serve? It would he a good match? What do you want, for Cena to just go away? The match would be fantastic and Cena always puts over the iwc darlings

    ReplyDelete
  108. What bump was that? I watched the match but can't recall anything about it.

    ReplyDelete
  109. It was amusing to see Cena riled up to fight Dean the night after NOC, but only after tossing the hat this way, the towel that way, the shirt a third way, and the chain a fourth. "I'm gonna kick your ass, but first let me distribute my merch."

    ReplyDelete
  110. The Love-Matic Grampa!October 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM

This is the price to be paid for Brock going over Cena so strongly at Summerslam. I'm starting to think HHH and Stephanie locked Vince in his office during the show and just played him a video of Extreme Rules 2012 instead.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM

LOL, Orton is a consolation prize

    ReplyDelete
  112. He got bumped out of the ring, then Nash hit the powerbomb on HHH, and Foley popped right back in with a regular count, and HHH kicked out.

Nash said in a shoot interview that he was pissed about it, like they were trying to kill his finisher (Foley was supposed to be knocked out for at least 15-20 seconds, so the kickout didn't kill his finisher)

    ReplyDelete
  113. Bray's dead in the water at this point. It's going to take something big to get him back.

    ReplyDelete
  114. LOL. In a way, it's a nice touch on his character. I hate that I'm defending John Cena on doing something dorky, but that just fit him perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Rowan/Ambrose headlines Wrestlemania 32.

I remember around 2005 or so my friend and I would joke that Miz would be main eventing Wrestlemania versus Hornswaggle in a few years... that was one time I regret being even partially right.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 1, 2014 at 10:02 AM

DEAN IS MASTERING TITTIES (as we speak)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Can't disagree. It's one thing to time it for half time... but DO NOT SAY SO.

    ReplyDelete
  118. You mean you don't think the A's will resign him? It was a cespeses salary dump made to look like an aggressive all in move. Happens to save the team almost 6 million dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I thought something similar towards the end of the main event when it looked like Ambrose/Cena/Rollins were all feuding... why is this old guy being sho horned into this feud with the future of the company... would have been like Hogan being involved in the Bret/HBK feud.

    ReplyDelete
  120. What the hell are you talking about?

It isn't about IWC darlings (but way to drag that one out of the dust balls kicking and screaming). It's about building new stars, which WWE SORELY needs and seems to have forgotten how to do.

Since about 2006-2007, who have they built?

Not a damn person that they've kept on top (unless the fans force them to do so -- Bryan's injury was a happy day for the McMahons, because they were allowed to go right back to the status quo). Every single person they bring up, they knock back down once Cena is done with him. It's the Hogan "monster of the week" all over again.

    Should I do a list?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Is there a reason why The Wyatts didn't take over The Shield's push once The Shield broke up? There's always room for a monster heel stable to dominate when needed. This whole situation confuses me.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I always thought Ambrose looked like a deranged David Caruso.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Yup, one of the few guys in the promotion who consistently gets big crowd reactions is "dead in the water."

    ReplyDelete
  124. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 1, 2014 at 10:04 AM

With all of the armchair booking we do when we hear news we don't like, here's a devil's advocate question for the BoD:

Do we really know better than whoever's doing Creative in WWE? Why or why not?

/Not HHH soliciting feedback, I swear

    ReplyDelete
  125. But, but, he didn't beat the top face of the last decade in his first full year! His career is ruined FOREVAH!!

    ReplyDelete
  126. To me, Rollins has main-event in-ring talent, but mid-card personality and mic-skills (and look).

Which is a shame, because he's just so good in the ring. Here's hoping that, in a year or so when the heel angle has played out, he gets a nice run as a face.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Especially because the way they framed it was lame. I thought at first they meant half time for the show, which would be 9:30. Instead, it was halftime of the damn NFL game!

    ReplyDelete
  128. The family guy manatees could book a better show than Vince at this point. So yes, I do know more just from watching wrestling all my life, on how to book a quality show, than a team of people who want to jam square pegs in round holes because they hate wrestling and are embarrassed to be associated with it.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I think that's going to be the next phase, as Cena gets desperately plugged into hotter feuds and angles to keep him relevant.

    ReplyDelete
  130. His career is definitely ruined, just not because of Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  131. He's actually in their top five or six in most of their offensive stats

    ReplyDelete
  132. Absolutely. The majority of us have watched enough wrestling to know something's stupid. For instance, Roman Reigns promos. No one here would push something that miserable.

    ReplyDelete
  133. He's not really doing anything of note since the Jericho feud, and now he's losing his team. Maybe dead in the water is a stretch, but he's definitely lost position since earlier in the year.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Except it absolutely worked until WWE booking fucked the guys over, and then it still was working better than the majority of the roster.

How many guys on the roster get bigger entrance pops or have more over matches than the Wyatts?

    ReplyDelete
  135. At the end of the day, they never gave him anything to do to pay off his promos. WWE has a real problem advancing angles and the Wyatts have basically been spinning their wheels.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I could see Cena winning over Ambrose on RAW and Ambrose spending the whole time Cena vs. Rollins is going on in the Hell in a Cell trying to break in to the cell somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  137. It depends. I think wrestling fans can come up with good ideas, but I don't think anyone who doesn't have experience putting together a television show could necessarily do that aspect of it.

If I were in charge, I'd just redo old feuds.

    ReplyDelete
  138. He was killing it in the black and pink. Let him win one for Susan G. Coleman, brother!

    ReplyDelete
  139. This year is definitely an example of why having a dedicated Hell in a Cell ppv is a bad idea. The cell should be brought in as needed, not because of the calendar.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Their creative process seems horrible as Vince changes on a whim and you write to his changes, even if they make no sense and they always write stuff that insults their viewers

    ReplyDelete
  141. WCW did the exact same thing with the September War Games from 1992'ish to 1998 though. So it's not like it's a unique thing.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Yeah I just turned the TV off after the 11th inning. I've been an A's fan for a long time so I knew where that was heading. I went on a TV and internet blackout all night to avoid the pro royals chatter.

    ReplyDelete
  143. We think we do, but we don't.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Hey, I'm all for it, brother!

    ReplyDelete
  145. No, my question is how in the hell does a team whose best hitter only hits .270 manage to make the playoffs?

    (Yeah, AVG is overrated.)

    ReplyDelete
  146. I'd love for Cena to turn heel in the next week. Since HHH reads the interwebs now, so he could learn this incredible idea!!

    ReplyDelete
  147. For sure. TLC is another example.

    ReplyDelete
  148. It's in his interest.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Take this post, engrave it, frame it, and send that shit directly to Vince McMahon. Because the old man really doesn't seem to get it.

    ReplyDelete
  150. They a great entrance that got over. But you gotta have some steak with your sizzle or you'll just be a flash in the pan.

    ReplyDelete
  151. If someone doesn't ask him "Who has a bigger dick, Stephanie or Chyna" in his reddit AMA the internet has failed.

    ReplyDelete
  152. David Caruso looks like a deranged David Caruso.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Please tell us how Bray benefited from the Cena feud.

    ReplyDelete
  154. KC made the playoffs with 19 being their highest homerun total for a player.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 1, 2014 at 10:16 AM

Which ones (from the actual Fall Brawl PPV era, not the Crockett ones) do you think made sense and which ones do you think felt forced?

Made sense: definitely '96 and '97 (hell, '97 was even booked one way but changed b/c of the nWo's parody of the Horsemen)

    '94 made sense, I think

    '98 and 2000 were stupid

Can't really comment on '93 or '95, and there wasn't one in '99

    ReplyDelete
  156. Not unique. But certainly dumb.

    ReplyDelete
  157. It's because JR gave it the best setup ever, closing out Raw with, "TRIPLE H! NASH! HELL IN A CELL! BAD BLOOD! MY ASS!!!"

  158. 93 was pretty stupid too. They already did the tag match at Beach Blast and ended up just adding Dustin Rhodes, the SHOCKMASTER, and Harlem Heat (KANE AND KOLE!)

    ReplyDelete
  159. Yeah, I mean, are the writers they hire even wrestling fans? There's a difference in watching and knowing wrestling and being able to structure a three-hour show. The writers know that aspect of it, but to say that they know how to make captivating characters and engaging storylines is a bunch of shit.

  161. Mmm-hmm, and why aren't you writing cohesive scripts for majorly popular television shows? Let me guess, "you don't want to."

I think we all have the ability to agree that Katie Vick was a dumb storyline, but put the voted-upon 5 best "writers" from this board in charge of Raw for a week and you'll get a miserable wet fart of an episode on par with the regular weekly drivel, probably worse in terms of pacing and blocking out segments properly. Guaranteed.

If they insert Cena into this feud in Ambrose's place I might just skip Hell in a Cell. I mean, I know they can always pick up the Ambrose/Rollins feud at TLC and blow it off there, but I they really need to stop sticking Cena into feuds just to save the day and give him something to do. Ambrose and Rollins have done excellently with this feud on their own. Let them sink or swim. Don't try to throw Cena into the equation just cause Lesnar won't be there. Give him something else to do. Or just give him a rest for a month. That's the only way they're gonna know the potential drawing capabilities of Rollins and Ambrose in the near future.

  167. "Because by facing Cena, it established Bray as a serious player and big time star," something that hasn't been true of facing an established main eventer since the 80s.

    ReplyDelete
  168. So you pretty much don't watch any Wyatts TV and PPV matches then, right? Cause the matches themselves were consistently very good and over.
The Usos/Wyatts tag series, their TV 6-mans, the Bray/Jericho cage match.

I know you think the gimmick (violent crazy southern guys!) is somehow too weird for pro wrestling, but you're outright disregarding what's actually on TV in favor of what you wnat to believe.

The booking of Bray since Cena has been awful, but the fans are legit still into their act despite that.

This whole "dead in the water" talk is hilariously over the top BoD stuff.

  169. Agree. If you want to push a dude and he's not good on the mic why not do the Goldberg deal of no real talking or here's an idea...get a manager for him.

"How do you feel about getting Macho's sloppy seconds?"

    ReplyDelete
  171. So yeah the splitting of the Wyatts is beyond dumb at this point unless they see something more in Harper and Rowan and want to push them in different guises. Harper would need a major change though. A follower without a leader is just strange. I see Rowan future endeavored though if he's not with Bray. Bray can get his heat back if he gets at least another lackey or comes up with a promo saying he doesn't need anyone in the locker room since the crowd is now his family. If he has a lackey I'm going to suggest Orton. He's stale as stale can be and his promos blow. If he follows Bray it could FINALLY be a big name that's following him for a while, it gives Orton something to do besides being a consolation prize, and lets someone else talk for him. A crazy bearded Orton might be fun. Yes I said Orton and fun in the same sentence...

  175. Damn, if only I had the power to make that happen. It would be fun to shut a few of ya'll up... but I know that would never happen.

Also you ask why isn't anyone booking the wwe already if we could a better job. 1) I (and probably moat people here with full time employment) make way more money than some shitty wwe writer and 2)Vince would never hire a fan or allow someone else to book his shit better

However Stephanie, I take offense! Still a very attractive woman, she just happens to work out more. No man parts down there! I choose to believe that.

  179. As long as Ambrose wins, thus giving us the Rollins/Ambrose HitC match many of us have been pointing to for months, I'm cool with the way they're going through with this. I actually always liked when a couple of the top feuds would spill into each other, like in 98 when Austin vs McMahon/Corporation would overlap with DX vs Nation.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Yes. Why? Simply because some/most of us have followed THIS BUSINESS for years, and can at least manage to not violate Wrestling 101 on a weekly basis. Someone mentioned it below, but Vince (NOT "Creative") seems hellbent on fitting square pegs into round holes.

And all that's doing is damaging those workers, to where even if they do hit upon a hot storyline, there's little faith that it'll be allowed to "naturally" progress. Why? Because Vince had yet another of his bright ideas.

  183. Yeah, I fucking hate the argument that "if you know so much better, why aren't you doing it?" Lamest retort ever.

Did anyone catch Cole and JBL actually using the term "the product" the other night?

    ReplyDelete
  189. At the same time, are wrestling fans good writers? You need someone who's both.

Without it, you can swap in a fan for a professional writer and instead of "Heath Slater beats Fernando," you get "Finn Balor beats Randy Orton." That'll make a bunch of dicks hard in the corners of the Internet, but it won't do much for business.
