After going 3-2 last week, I improved to 27-22-1 on the season. Here are my picks for today.
Cincinnati +1.5 at Houston
San Francisco -9 vs. Washington
Green Bay -8.5 at Minnesota
Denver -7 vs. Miami
Philadelphia -11 vs. Tennessee

ReplyDeleteWas just about to post that.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Orton being at Survivor Series a surprise?
ReplyDeletehttp://deadspin.com/man-yells-fuck-her-right-in-the-pussy-on-sportscenter-1662297876
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha!
I don't feel like watching the eagles today. Playing Tennessee? I hate inter conference games sometimes, especially when they are as worthless as this.
ReplyDeleteShould I start Sanchez over capernick?
Fuck no.
ReplyDeleteI like the story about Winston getting away with another one...
ReplyDeleteHamilton wins in Abu Dhabi and takes the title. Shocking news, I know. His girlfriend (not "partner", unless they have a law firm together) is pretty hot.
ReplyDeleteSaw WCW Greed for the first time ever last night. Awesome show. One of the most underrated ever since I think most people just assume it sucks because it was the last one. Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo vs Kidman and Rey and DDP vs Steiner are INCREDIBLE matches. I'd add that one to your network watch list if you've never seen it.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be hilarious when some team drafts him and he's a bust of JaMarcus Russel levels.
ReplyDeleteMy fear is that the Niners will get up early on the Redskins and just keep running it with Gore/Hyde, while the Eagles could get up by 30 and Sanchez will still be throwing it.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a lot of the final few months of WCW because, to be honest, it just sucks knowing what happens at the end.
ReplyDeleteGreed is a really good show, so is the Nitro the next night. At least the went out on a high note.
ReplyDeleteBTW Steiner vs Page at Greed is probably Steiners best match as big poppa pump.
ReplyDeleteNE at DET on national TV. LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteThat was the first PPV I watched after getting the Network and I liked the undercard matches a lot.
ReplyDeleteWhoever makes the NFL schedule is on crack. Would it be that hard to make is so that by the midway point, each team has played 3 division games? Instead the Eagles are 7-3 having only played one division game, and I think the Cardinals are 9-1 and they've maybe played 2.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but still, it's Mark Sanchez. Why the hell do you even have him on your team to begin with?
ReplyDeleteThat's a low bar.
ReplyDeleteI hate the NFL tv coverage rules sometimes. Like, if the Panthers are off, we tend to get the Redskins, despite the fact that their may be a marquee game elsewhere. Yeah, I know Sunday Ticket...
ReplyDeleteSteiner was being pretty good as a monster heel.
ReplyDeleteBut but bit... He's your hookup! Holla if you hear him.
ReplyDeleteBecause I believe in Matthew Berry, and he believes Sanchez will be a top 15 guy the rest of the way.
ReplyDeleteIf you can get past it now there is some good stuff in those 3 ppvs, especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteYup for sure, but at least he actually had one really good match.
ReplyDeleteAnd look at what is around him in Philly, v. what was around him as a Jet.
ReplyDeleteMight as well pick up Kyle Orton while you're at it.
ReplyDeleteHis character was awesome. His matches just kind of sucked but it was the wcw main event scene so that's par for the course. Gotta give him and DDP props here. They could have easily mailed it in, but they went out and put on a good show.
ReplyDeleteIt should be easier for NFL as well, since the stadiums aren't used as easily as arenas for concerts and other shows.
ReplyDeleteWho knows how it works.
I live in Phoenix and I have infomercials on FOX & Cin/Hou on CBS to start the day. At least show a California or a NFC North team. I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteHey, his match with HHH is one the most entertaining things in wrestling.
ReplyDeleteMight give it a look one of these days.
ReplyDeleteHm..... Diehl and Breneman (sp?) doing the Chicago game. Don't know that I've heard these two much.
ReplyDeleteFuck DirecTV.
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of sad how well WCW cleaned up there act in 2001, all for nothing.
ReplyDeleteNico Rosberg seems like a total douchnozzle.
ReplyDeleteThis is a true statement.
ReplyDeleteThinking about what Algieri has said post-bout, it makes me think he got some nice pay-offs under the table to talk up Pacquiao.
ReplyDeleteNot a lovefest, but Algieri was as complimentary as he could. The way he fought also made Pacquiao look like a million bucks, other than the KO.
The kickoff goes through the endzone making it impossible for Chicago to run it out, which has been their stupid plan all year. Already a positive!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's not NE at DET, but the opposite. Glad I started as many NE guys as possible except for Gray.
ReplyDeleteProbably should have started Gray as well...
Fuck player safety, they should kickoff from the 20. I miss kick returns.
ReplyDeleteDan Fouts is the worst. Well, one of the worst.
ReplyDeleteJoe Buck and Aikman are the worst.
ReplyDeleteChris Berman is the worst, thankfully he only does one game a year.
ReplyDeleteAnd AJ Styles broke Yoshitatsu neck, he's out for a few months.
ReplyDeleteJust wait...
ReplyDeleteHe had a damn good one against Goldberg that has the advantage of everyone thinking it would dip into the negatives. Probably ***.
ReplyDeleteOh. Totally. I'm just saying that it's ridiculous to continuously run it out from the back of the end zone and getting to the 15.
ReplyDeleteAikman isn't bad.
ReplyDeleteare you joking
ReplyDeleteNo?
ReplyDeleteI can handle Aikman. Buck, however, is fucking terrible. I would also like to never stop punching Chris Collinsworth.
ReplyDeleteDid he take the Clash wrong? A lot of guys do that and get hurt.
ReplyDeleteWorking on a Sunday so I can give my staff a four day weekend for Thanksgiving, today is horrible, everyone is hung over.
ReplyDeleteIf he Scott had the athleticism he had in the early 90's mixed up with the BPP gimmick, he would probably had a much better career.
ReplyDeleteYes, head first into the canvas. He competed in the first match of World tag league but gave up.
ReplyDeleteWe need more HOT SAUCE!
ReplyDeleteYeah, my rule when playing Madden is that if it goes into the endzone at all just down it.
ReplyDeletefor real why is Orton being at Survivor Series some kind of surprise, he has been on every show for like the last 12 years.
ReplyDeleteTaking that move involves doing the opposite with your neck of everything you've ever been taught in wrestling. Move always looks like shit anyway.
ReplyDeleteHungry...maybe I should go to Wendy's?
ReplyDeleteSome British guy broke his neck last year, and Roderick Strong nearly did by taking it wrong. Still, Styles might want to look into getting a new finisher.
ReplyDeleteYou should bend your neck backwards.
ReplyDeleteHe should use the calf slicer and the Spiral tap more.
ReplyDelete"everyone is hung over"
ReplyDeleteNo shit...
He was the only reason I watched WCW from 98-01. Of course, I had no idea at the time that he was just ripping off Superstar Billy Graham word for word and action for action.
ReplyDeleteJust goes to show you how far ahead Billy Graham was.
Bucked just asked if Jay Novachek was similar to Gronk.
ReplyDeleteWTF?!?!
you sir are a humanitarian, no one gives that friday off anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe Spiral Tap is some kind of piledriver, right?
ReplyDeleteRight, and everything else in wrestling mandates that you tuck your neck. You have to actually be mentally prepared to take the Styles Clash properly. People don't realize how much muscle memory plays into athletics.
ReplyDeleteIt's a front flip with about 400 spins.
ReplyDeleteIs my last sentence wrong, grammatically speaking?
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a corkscrew splash...
ReplyDeleteAgain, he should retire it. Like you said, it looks like ass anyway.
ReplyDeleteGoodell: Player safety is our number one concern... we're working towards a 20 game regular season...
ReplyDeleteSpiral tap is the corkscrew senton he does.
ReplyDeleteI run that shit... every time. You can't break one if you kneel.
ReplyDeleteThe final day of my 4 day vacation.
ReplyDeleteShould be "have had", but close enough.
ReplyDeleteYou should take a weak holiday off the schedule to give them Thankgiving Friday.
ReplyDeleteLike Columbus Day.
I disagree, he's the only one that makes the move in a good way.
ReplyDeleteFuck.
ReplyDeleteWait, J-Lo went back to American Idol? Wwhhaatt?
ReplyDeleteKyle Fuller is going to be a big deal in a couple years. Too bad he got hurt this year. And, Chicago's defense is otherwise bad.
ReplyDeleteHey! Pick by Conte!
I always sign a guy that's otherwise useless just to return kicks. I figure it's worth the roster spot if I can get at least one TD a season off a punt return.
ReplyDeleteLike I said man, your English is better than a lot of people I know that were born here.
ReplyDeleteThat moment when you realize your team making an interception hurts your fantasy QB2's points.
ReplyDeleteDammit why is Lesean McCoy so incapable of scroring a TD?? I blame my shit fantasy season on you.
ReplyDeleteAgreed... don't want to risk injury to a worthy offensive or defensive guy.
ReplyDeleteOh, OK.
ReplyDeleteI know this yardie kid that can do a double 450, it's pretty awesome.
I had him 3 years ago when he had the down season. Makes no sense.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting back on my English classes, I need to finish my graduation.
ReplyDeleteOnly 1 bet for me this week, I took AZ ML +320 since the number was about 50 points higher than I'd seen elsewhere. I'm still looking for a good price to arb that off but the more news I hear about Seattle I might just let that one play out and see where it goes.
ReplyDeleteOn the positive side, whoever moved things around so that Week 17 is all division games... good job dude. ALWAYS satisfying to watch the Cowboys blow their playoff chances in the final game.
ReplyDeleteAJ also has a cool 450.
ReplyDeleteI hate the Browns shit brown pants. A stripe down the side would make them look so nice.
ReplyDeleteHe's the only guy I've ever seen do it.I remember RD Evans did an inverted one once, but that's about it.
ReplyDeleteBecause he has been off TV for a whole 3 weeks!
ReplyDeletecould have fooled me
ReplyDeleteCrash Holly stole it for a while.
ReplyDeleteDDP, Taker's Wife, Tanahashi.
ReplyDeleteRoughing the kicker! Hah! Nice job Tampa Bay.
ReplyDeleteI want to see someone use the Phoenix Splash. A real one, not the "stand with your back to the ring and turn around and do a 450".
ReplyDeleteThe Cardinals wore their all red home unis last week. They look like pajamas. Meanwhile, 3/4 of the stadium were rocking the black jerseys with "11" on them. Me included.
ReplyDeleteOr those guys need to learn to take the move correctly.
ReplyDeleteI used to always sign a kickoff specialist, but in the new games there's no point.
ReplyDeleteFucking Foster waiting right up until game time to decide he has a vagina instead of a pee pee.
ReplyDeleteJesus, that was like a 70 yard punt.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that Carolina cannot lose today. The bad news is that they also cannot win today, but since they weren't doing that anyways, NET POSITIVE BABY!
ReplyDeleteNicole Scherzinger, IIRC.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucB9XVDbLuA
ReplyDeleteBut I still think the diving elbow drop is the coolest top rope move.
Browns are going to finish the season 7-9
ReplyDeleteI hate that I buy into the pre-fantasy hype about players like I did with him
ReplyDeleteI used to work in a liquor store, and this guy came in and asked for that "Hennessy cog-nack". Now, I know I'm not supposed to cuss out customers, but I just blurted out "What the fuck is cog-nack?"
ReplyDeleteWe had to keep that shit in the back because people kept stealing it.
Good, I got Blue going :)
ReplyDeleteAs multiple people mention below, just about every other move that affects the head/neck asks the guy taking it to tuck their chin in. And then the Clash tells you "nope, do the opposite."
ReplyDeleteSurprised that got the pin, really.
ReplyDeleteBig Cat Week > Shark Week.
ReplyDeleteWhy the fuck is he doing it on a sex doll?
ReplyDeleteJapan.
ReplyDeleteDDT, go figure.
ReplyDeleteDefensive showdown in Chicago for those that are into that kinda thing.
ReplyDeleteGO BUCS!
ReplyDeleteAny team in the NFC South would be stoked with that.
ReplyDeleteI once saw a match where a guy wrestled an invisible man. And lost. Who did he piss off where he had to go out and job to no one?
ReplyDeleteHow's your season going?
ReplyDeleteFair enough. Is that the promotion where a ladder wrestled a chair?
ReplyDeleteThe true Sophie's Choice of fantasy football.
ReplyDeleteChicago doesn't play defense anymore.
ReplyDeleteWHATCHA TALKING ABOUT WILLIS!
Defensive showdown or team ineptitude?
ReplyDelete2014, this year flew by. I gotta say this was the best year of my life.
ReplyDeleteI was watching a Kevin Sullivan collection last night (Florida/Southeast stuff, mainly), and he used a sloppy as shit version of the piledriver as his finish. Instead of sitting back, he would drop to his knees and "spike" the other guys head into the mat, completely unprotected.
ReplyDeleteI think Lovie is coaching both teams today... wants to go back.
ReplyDeleteWell... No points in the first quarter.
ReplyDeleteDDP did a pancake, not exactly the same thing.
ReplyDeleteGot a tough decision tonight. Survivor Series or Cowboys/Giants?
ReplyDeleteBucs could still go 7-9 and win the division.
ReplyDeleteThis year sucked balls. Of course you can say that any year of my life.
ReplyDeleteUnless you're going to the game, both.
ReplyDeleteMmhmm, other former champions include a chihuahua, a painting, and the blow up doll mentioned above.
ReplyDeleteI have to get up early for work tomorrow, I can't do both.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty badass, actually. I mean, I wouldn't want to take it, but if it was in a video game I'd use it as a finisher.
ReplyDeleteCena overcomes football?
ReplyDeleteStill not as stupid as the bunny.
ReplyDeleteYou can make this one in the SvR games.
ReplyDelete6 - 5. I won 4 in a row... then had everybody and there brother have the same week off 2 weeks ago so I lost that one. Then last week Brady had a shitty game and Foster was out so I lost that one.... Not feeling great about this week now.
ReplyDeleteBut once in a while DDT has some serious matches.
ReplyDeleteThe whole "ring boy" thing is a bit too gay porn for my liking.
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all following the product, but at least try to catch the ppvs.
ReplyDeleteThen the game and watch SS when you got a few hours to spare.
ReplyDeleteIs that the company with Razor Ramon Hard Gay, or was that Hustle?
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone in the NFC South care about Cleveland's record?
ReplyDeleteI bet the fans are like "he's better than Tressman".
ReplyDeleteI think Lovie did about what he could with that talent. Offense was fairly meh except for Forte, defense was good but aging.
Bears did a terrible job of replacing the defense. Offense is good but Cutler is like Evolution, full of mysteries no one sees.
I was just trying to be funny.
ReplyDeleteKeep shitting the bed, Browns. Houston was winnable, they refused to win it. Now to go down against a struggling Atlanta team. Fucking awesome. Just pull the starters and get ready for the draft, you jokes.
ReplyDeleteDo both. Your mind will thank you, and your body will curse you.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpTEM6R_wZA#t=3250
ReplyDeleteVideo game, sure. Real life, that should be a shoot beating backstage.
Start Johnny JamBoogie as well.
ReplyDeleteNah, I misunderstood.
ReplyDeleteI've gotta start reading more or something. The older I get, the dumber I feel I get. Geez.
I can't figure out how to do the create-a-finisher. I tried to make a juming twisting cradle piledriver (I'd call it the Undertow after the Tool album), but couldn't make it work.
ReplyDeleteI just use a simple spike piledriver. Looks cool and usually draws blood.
HUSTLE, Nobuhiko Takada (the guy the created Pride) was the owner, he used to dress up as M.Bison in the shows.
ReplyDeleteIt would be good for my Cowboys if the Patriots could beat the Lions and the Titans could beat the Eagles, but that one doesn't look like it's going to happen.
ReplyDeleteOh shit, that looked nasty. And REALLY sloppy.
ReplyDeleteChris Pratt is in Jurassic World? He looks like a modern Indiana Jones.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's not the only one on there, just the first one I found.
ReplyDeleteWas there a chick that dressed up like Cammy? Because I would totally watch that.
ReplyDeleteI just use a Snap DDT, because I'm old school.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to let my whole staff off at 1 so they can go to the bar and watch the Seahawks while I stay here and design a newspaper.
ReplyDeleteBest Boss? Or Greatest Boss?
I always find it funny when one of my reporters moves on to another paper thinking the next guy will be half as easy to work for as I am.
Somehow DET got the 1st down on that one...
ReplyDeleteYou're ruining their lives.
ReplyDeleteYay! McCown got a TD! Boo! It's against Chicago!
ReplyDeleteOn one hand... let's staff out early.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand... has staff work on Sunday.
On the other hand, I do love how Mark Lewin's sleeper is treated as this lethal hold, similar to the piledriver in Memphis.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpTEM6R_wZA#t=1620
Ha Stafford always forces those passes to Calvin
ReplyDeleteHow the hell did Stafford stay on his feet? Brady would have crumpled to the fetal position 20 seconds earlier in the pocket.
ReplyDeleteOnly working today so they all get four days off for Thanksgiving, so again....
ReplyDeleteGreatest Boss? lol
Sleepers should be a lethal hold, you're choking the guy.
ReplyDeleteStafford is still young physically. He's still a bit reckless, especially when throwing to Calvin.
ReplyDeleteLoved the finish of Orton vs Michaels... So well done.
ReplyDeletePretty sure it wad
ReplyDeleteWell they could do both: Have some 4 vs 4 ( I never liked 5 vs 5 because it's just too many guys) matches in the Midcard and then the Elimination Chamber in the Main Event.
ReplyDeleteHow can you say Warrior after you always talk about how he tanked badly as champion?
ReplyDeleteFor the kids at the time period, we brought into the Warrior hype and never imagined a day when someone could beat him, but yeah had Warrior feuded with Savage instead of Rude for Summerslam, I'm pretty sure they could have done good business on top.
ReplyDeleteDid Backlund hold the belt twice?
ReplyDeleteYa, man, in the 80s and in the 90s
ReplyDeleteDamn, just hit Wikipedia. That was a time when I wasn't watching wrestling. 3 day reign.
ReplyDeleteBig Daddy Cool gets no love? [/sarcasm alarm blows up]
ReplyDeleteWWF: Diesel
ReplyDeleteNWA: Ronnie Garvin
Intercontinental: Luke Harper
US: Goldberg
TV: Jim Duggan for revitalizing the division
WWF tag: Chuck and Billy
NWA tag: R-Truth and Pacman
IC is CLEARLY the Godfather. Or Road Dogg.
ReplyDeleteEven debatable that he won it three times. He lost to Inoki but WWE doesn't acknowledge that reign.
ReplyDeleteGodfather, a good one.
ReplyDeleteIC belt = Honky Tonk Man. Greatest IC champ of all time. Don't be cruel.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that the seeds were planted for Savage/Warrior at Mania VII as early as September. At that point, it seemed like WWF already gave up on Warrior's reign, shoe-horning him into LOD and Demolition matches instead of giving him a meaningful program with the Title on the line.
ReplyDeleteYou're to passionate about buy rates.
ReplyDeleteWhilst looking up single time WWE Heavyweight Champions, I was amazed that Chris Jericho has only won it once. All his other victories were for the World or the WCW Title.
ReplyDeleteDean Douglas was amazing as the IC champion.
ReplyDeleteDo you think he listed "Former IC Champion" on his Target Resume'?
ReplyDeleteDidn't Steamboat win the WCW Title in 94 with his series with Flair? Or was that a double pin leading to it being vacant?
ReplyDeleteIt was a double pin.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Warrior's reign was very similar to Diesel's where Vince believed he was the next guy to carry the company and when they flopped, Vince really deemphasized their characters towards the end of their reign.
ReplyDelete
