Howdy Blog O'Doomers!
Hope you all had a good weekend and are ready to deal with the grinds of the week. As an additional contribution to the site I did a review of the Legends of Wrestling Roundtable that was dedicated to Black History Month (Called The Soul of Wrestling) and it was even better than I remembered. I will throw that up on the site later tonight or in the morning.
As for TV tonight:
RAW in its three-hour glory
9 NBA games with the Clippers-Mavericks looking good. NHL has five games.
Biggest CBK game appears to be 1 vs. 2 between South Carolina and UConn women
New Gotham, Jane the Virgin and part two of Better Call Saul.
Come out swinging and keep it clean!

Re: Saul... would it help to have watched Breaking Bad? Because I watched Saul but came away "eh".
ReplyDeleteDid Bret ever beat DiBiase, or were all their singles matches draws?
ReplyDeleteThe new blog will be launching next Monday night after Raw. First post will be my review of next weeks Raw. All hands on deck. Look forward to talking to you all in the comment section.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have Meekins contact info? I'm looking to reach out and see if he'd be interested in reviving his "Meekin on..." columns and QOTD at the new site. I've got a great group of guys I'm working with on this project and I believe he could add a lot of value.
I wonder if Sting is actually training for his WM match or if he just plans on walking out in a t-shirt?
ReplyDeleteT-shirt.
ReplyDeleteIn just a t-shirt? Ted Kennedy style?
ReplyDeleteThis Boss Man promo about defending his mother's honor against Heenan comes off really disingenuous after what he did to the Big Show.
ReplyDeleteHe defended his own mother's honor. He doesn't give a shit about other people's mothers.
ReplyDeleteT-shirt? He's not even gonna take off his trenchcoat to wrestle.
ReplyDeletehave they advertised anything in particular for tonight?
ReplyDeleteNot sure...that would have been a dope IC title feud.
ReplyDeleteBack body drops.
ReplyDeleteCena/Rusev and Reigns/Bryan. Anything else booked for Fastlane? Tag title with breakup for the Dusts. I genuinely would like to see Goldust vs Cody at Mania. Sleeper potential.
ReplyDeleteDidn't he get heat from Hogan & Bischoff for getting out of shape for Starrcade 97?
ReplyDeleteThat was disappointing. I was expecting baaaaaaaaaack body drops
ReplyDeleteUpdated
ReplyDeleteSting wouldn't get in shape for a match at 37. He's not going to bother at 57
ReplyDeleteThe lineup for RAW tonight is basically your Fast Lane card.
ReplyDeleteBell rings, points bat, lights go out, comes back on and Hunter is laying in a pool of "red". Boot on chest for the pin.
ReplyDeleteI fully expect NXT on Wednesday to be better than Fastlane and possible Mania. It will definitely have been better booked.
ReplyDeleteAnyone wanna help me move a couch from the living room of my first floor apartment to the sidewalk outside - no more than 75 steps - on Sunday? Pizza and beer is on me!
ReplyDeleteUsos b Caesaro/Kidd apparently
ReplyDeleteI loved Breaking Bad, and thought the pilot for Saul was slow. I'll watch again tonight because I trust the writers to create a compelling product. I think watching Breaking Bad might help a little, but is not crucial by any means.
ReplyDeleteOkay, but due to differences in airfare I'll be landing in Newark.
ReplyDeleteUm, yeah. Def need to see breaking bad first
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I'll see what I can do.
ReplyDeleteSure, after I honor Black History Month everyone else on the blog follows suit. I guess I had to break the racial barriers of the BoD
ReplyDeleteHe already got his payday, he don't give a fuck
ReplyDeleteSince the match quality wouldn't matter either way, I'm sure he's home keeping vigil with a box of donuts.
ReplyDeleteLocation.....
ReplyDeleteYou get my trade offer?
ReplyDeleteQuite excited for Raw tonight.
ReplyDelete41°8′44″N 73°59′42″W
ReplyDeleteThey love to slow build but I'm not worried. That familiar face at the end will definitely perk things up in ep 2, I think...
ReplyDeleteI found it amusing Tyresse dies in Black History Month.
ReplyDeleteTHE POWER OF VINCE JORDAN COMPELS YOU
ReplyDeleteOr black body drops.
ReplyDeleteMichonne fills their black quota
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like bro work. I'm always down to help a bro. I'll bring a VHS copy of WWF One Night Only PPV from 97.
ReplyDeleteAnd a woman too.
ReplyDeleteI love Ready to Rumble
ReplyDelete"Gordie, why does it look like you have your finger in your butt?"
"Cause I do?"
Yeah, that's where knowing Breaking Bad would help a bit. We know he's a badass!
ReplyDeleteI did. I can't afford to trade Quick right now. Bernier is falling apart and I have a scrub as my 4th. Hutchinson is my best at the moment. I need a goalie with a regular gig. As I type this both of my goalies are already -1 points tonight.
ReplyDeleteNot really. Daniel Bryan rumored to be in the title picture and he's my favorite guy on the roster? Why should I be angry about this?
ReplyDeleteI kind of find it funny that they're probably going the triple-threat route at Mania due to Bryan support, since it's arguably less vociferous now than it was last year. If anything, this is far less about Bryan getting into the main event than it is about someone other than Reigns getting the shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Mrazek instead of Allen?
ReplyDeleteHe and Hunter are basically going to lay around for 20 minutes anyway, so I doubt he's going to have much opportunity to get blown up. Still, if he has an even passing interest in his craft anymore, I would hope he'd do his best to get into a shape that will allow him not to wrestle in a t-shirt at possibly the biggest show he's ever wrestled on.
ReplyDeleteI just sent you a trade offer for Byf Bagwell. Can't believe I dropped that dude early in the season.
ReplyDeleteSo fucking frustrating trying to trade for guys in the BoD fantasy hockey league because only like 4 guys are active in it.
ReplyDeleteHoward is coming back soon
ReplyDeleteMrazek is still starting ahead of him though.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a little too early to call. I do fear that Bryan is no longer the "in" thing to cheer and get behind. But given a complex storyline and some drama, I think it could drive fan interest.
ReplyDeleteShit. Now, that I'm thinking about it, maybe playing Bryan and Reigns against each other may be a smart way to encourage enthusiasm. I can see both guys being less over by the time they get to Mania, but I can also envision them being molten hot, too. By confronting the audience with these two choices, they'll inspire a reaction in the fans.
I think next season anyone who did not make a single lineup change or drop is getting the boot
ReplyDeleteOtunga and Graves doing the preshow... these guys are beautiful men. I don't care how gay that makes me sound, they're a photogenic, eloquent pair. And THE man, Scott Stanford, is hosting.
ReplyDeleteGot the roast boiling... this is going to be an awesome boil.
ReplyDeleteI did my wrestlemania dream card XXXI again:
ReplyDeleteBrock Lesnar(c) vs Daniel Bryan-WWE title match, Bryan wins after a 25 minute war.
Rusev/Reigns IC/US title unification, let them have 8 minutes. Reigns goes over.
Cena, Sting & Undertaker/HHH, Kane & Big show, 5-8 minutes, babyface team goes over
Ambrose/Rollins Ladder match for the MITB, 20 minutes and Ambrose wins
Usos vs Kidd/Cesaro for the tag belts, Kidd/Cesaro go over after 10-15 minutes of action
Charlotte/Nikki Bella for the Divas title- 3 minutes, Charlotte squashes Nikki
Battle Royal, Bray wins and setting him as the next WWE title challenger
Pre-Show matches: The Miz/ Mizdow, winner gains the rights of The Miz character(credit for Cabspaintedyellow with this idea), Mizdow wins after 8 minutes
NXT title
Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens. Give them 15 minutes, Zayn retains.
Thinking of just playing Civ instead of watching Raw.
ReplyDeleteRumor has it Rikishi is getting announced for HOF tonight.
ReplyDeleteCan we all agree Rikishi sucked and has no real business in there
They have me hooked with this Bryan/Reigns dynamic. There's a lot of layers that can be introduced to their feud and relationship to each other. To quote Vinnie Jones, "It's going to be emotional, baby!"
ReplyDeleteThe first rule to a good troll is to not overstep your bounds. I
ReplyDeletedon't buy the story about Vince changing his mind about adding Bryan to
the main event at WrestleMania. So much misinformation and bullshit has
been flowing out of Stamford in the last thirty days. I honestly believe
this rumor was floated to quell the uprising from the fans, so that as
we close in on the show people will expect Bryan to get added at any
point and diffuse a lot of the tension.
I like Bryan/Reigns but I don't think the buildup will be anything special. Do think they'll hit **** at Fast Lane tho.
ReplyDeleteDamn skippy. That Makin' a Difference Fatu should be in, however.
ReplyDelete"Sour and Gory" <3 u Hawk
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the reaction when they announce the Bushwackers.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a strong possibility. I just wouldn't call it probable. Precedent has been set for including Bryan, and it was successful then.
ReplyDeleteI'd go...I hate having boots on my feet Fatu
ReplyDeleteNo no no, the Sultan should be in.
ReplyDeleteNah, I love Rikishi. Passes the Koko B Ware test so it's fine.
ReplyDeleteEveryone passes the Koko test :(
ReplyDeleteHe's fine.
ReplyDeleteI think that's the biggest problem working against Bryan this year, because they did it last year. I just think there's so much history to show that Vince will do what he wants, and if he doesn't have his hand forced he'll go with his gut. I don't think the backlash to Reigns has been as bad as it was for Batista at this same point after the Rumble. The Rumble match was rough but he's still getting a lot of cheers too.
ReplyDeleteHawk has this weird rat tail at the end of his double mohawk. As if his hair wasn't fucked up enough.
ReplyDeleteAlright, no one is gonna judge you.
ReplyDeleteBushwackers are more credible
ReplyDeleteHe was way over for a time plus Rock or Reigns will be involved with this so they have their reasons for doing it.
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/sQGJ3SK.png
ReplyDeleteThe reaction has been tempered by Bryan's inclusion in the mix for the last week, though. Vince might see that the best way to have a smooth, paved road to Wrestlemania is have Bryan in the main event, and then rolling the dice in the actual match. I definitely see your points, though. Bryan fans shouldn't go into this blindly.
ReplyDeleteMania 7?
ReplyDeleteI'm oddly looking forward to tonight's show. That'll change by about 8:08, but it's 7:44 now!
ReplyDeletecome on have some optimism. You could at least hope to still be excited until 8:25..when HHH is still talking.
ReplyDeleteYou sweet, foolishly optimistic man.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this is about ROMAN REIGNS FAMILY IN THIS BUSINESS>
ReplyDeleteThis. Or FIFA. Or EWR. Or WMMA
ReplyDeleteBlah. A waste.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe NXT should be on WrestleMania.
ReplyDeleteJust because if Vince gets close enough to it, he'll need to "fix it."
So like 12 years ago, my mom got me a Star Wars Lego set for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI put it together this weekend.
I want more Lego.
I'm a grown man. Is this a problem?
No.
ReplyDeleteokay.
ReplyDeleteBut what about the rest of the card?
ReplyDeleteGood or bad?
no..I just can't justify spending the crazy prices on the big licensed items or I'd be there with you.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW, RIGHT? There are lik $200 sets. They say "aged 9-14" but they HAVE to be for grown ups. And I'm not talking about those "architecture" sets either.
ReplyDeleteTerrible. Never watch wrestling again.
ReplyDeletePart of me kind of hopes they stick with Reigns, just because that's going to be a once in a lifetime atmosphere for that match.
ReplyDeleteActually, knowing them, it'll be twice in a lifetime when they fuck up again next year.
That's the point. Lol
ReplyDeleteThere is a $4600 Millenium Falcon set of LEGOs.
ReplyDeleteno way, that's all Uso
ReplyDeleteI used to have friends that were really proud of how awesome they could play guitar hero, I always thought, "You know if you'd spent the time practicing on a real guitar instead of a video game you could...actually play guitar now."
ReplyDeleteFor me I'd rather spend my time learning how to build a real object from scratch, like a desk or something.
I see where you're coming from but I'd rather feel super happy.
ReplyDeleteHe is an incredibly obese man who took massive bumps off both a cage and HIAC. If anything, he belongs at least for that.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why they just didn't give Virgil a clean win at 7 and blow it off there?
ReplyDeleteI have this mild urge to see Lesnar/Reigns for the train wreck it'd be... But I have come to hate Reigns so much, I just can't in good conscience support the idea.
ReplyDeleteI wondered the same thing about a lot of Mania matches from those first 10 years. Loads of countouts, DQs, and double countouts/DQs.
ReplyDeleteYou know Lesnar would be bored out of his mind for that and try some weird shit to entertain himself.
ReplyDeleteI think those might be a bit off... I don't think they're the coordinates for the end of time.
ReplyDeletegotta protect dat house show business I guess.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe that their low-card program ran from January past WrestleMania AND SummerSlam deep into the Fall.
ReplyDeleteI live in an apartment; I don't have room for a real desk.
ReplyDeleteI would like to build a coffee table with a chess board on it.
Oh god, I forgot about the whole Virgil yelling at Piper to get up stuff.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is the problem. It's not so much that we want Bryan over Reigns, but now A TON of people HATE Reigns. They've Cena'd him.
ReplyDeleteReigns isn't a bad guy. He's a hard working guy who has a bright future, but is getting a monster push WAY too soon. Its not his fault though.
ReplyDeleteNew Hall of Fame inductee revealed.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/WWEUsos/status/564907307658924033
Cause they wanted DiBiase and Piper to be drawing on the C-show main events, I'd bet.
ReplyDeleteIt's a matter of believability for me; Reigns's offense is so bland, it's unrealistic to me to consider him a threat. Bryan is far smaller, but he wrestles like an ass kicker, so it works better for him.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, toys are fun, it's just when it becomes a thing people devote hours and hours and hours to, that's when it gets a little weird.
ReplyDeleteI live in an apartment too, like five years ago I built a chest of drawers, it's seriously one of my proudest accomplishments.
So was the Virgil/Piper stuff supposed to be about Piper overcoming his racism from the previous WM?
ReplyDeleteHave there been anymore NJPW shows with JR yet? Watched the Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kota Ibushi match today and wow was it awesome.
ReplyDeleteYeah I said this a few months ago: I believe Ambrose can beat Lesnar by out-crazying him, I believe Bryan can beat Lesnar by out-wrestling him, I believe Cena can beat Lesnar by out-lasting him. But I can't believe that Reigns can over-power Lesnar.
ReplyDeleteThey were just suddenly BFFs, there wasn't really a bigger thing to it than that.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but reading Raw in it's 3 hour glory at the top made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI still have the $300 Imperial Star Destroyer that's like 3 feet long. 2 friends and I opened it, looked at the book, looked at the 20 pouches of parts, and gave up within 10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI was under the impression it was the start of the epic Lego Star Wars series.
Bryan is just who they get behind the most. It's more that the people don't want Reigns being forced on them over a number of people
ReplyDeleteThese last two minutes of NCIS are so mindblowingly awful, I don't know how people sit through an entire episode.
ReplyDeleteKinda like erasing Reigns' picture amirite?
ReplyDeleteThink that's gonna be a once a year thing at best.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's Vince being an idiot.
ReplyDeleteThey really screwed the pooch with the Rumble. If they'd brought Bryan back, just had him announce his intention to eventually regain the title, then immediately have the Authority go after him by sending in a newly-heel Sheamus or Randy Orton, then we wouldn't be here.
ReplyDeleteHave Sheamus get DQ'ed for hitting Bryan with a chair. Then have him in the final 3 of the Rumble along with Reigns and Big Show. Reigns spears Show, eats a boot from Sheamus, but then Bryan comes out and distracts Sheamus. Reigns clotheslines Sheamus out, who then brawls away from the ring with Bryan. Reigns walks into a chokeslam attempt, escapes, hits the Superman punch and tosses Show out.
Perfect? No, but at least Reigns looks strong, and you build up to a Mania blowoff match between Bryan & Sheamus, with Bryan cutting promos saying when he beats Sheamus he's going to challenge whoever walks away from Mania with the belt.
Last Monday - Boos, Lots of Them (Except for DB)
ReplyDeleteThey are going to be shoving Samonas down our throats all WrestleMania weekend, and maybe a couple more people are gonna cheer Reigns because of it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what exactly in the name "ROMAN REIGNS" sounds Samoan?
He clearly didn't hate black people...as long as they knew their place.
ReplyDeleteTHe preshow was light years better than Saxton/Matthews, Riley, Booker and Albert combinations. Keep Stanford, Otunga, and Graves. When possible, sub in Renee and Heyman.
ReplyDeleteHis douche-tastic behavior since the Rumble outside the ring soured me more than his shit booking.
ReplyDeleteSome people like to look at the black-haired chick.
ReplyDeleteThis. 100%
ReplyDeleteDammit...I want to watch wrestling on the net, but that totally legit feed does not seem to be working.
ReplyDeleteIt's boring. He has 4 moves and you see all of them coming a mile away
ReplyDeleteLast week on Raw: Triple H talked for 28 minutes.
ReplyDeleteOtunga has been demoted to the pre show?
ReplyDeleteTotally forgot there was a raw preshow...
ReplyDeleteSeth just tweeted out a nude of some girl. lol.
ReplyDeleteYeah, at least I can laugh at a CSI show.
ReplyDeleteAre you challenging him?
ReplyDeleteI bought the $130 Millennium Falcon on clearance for $65.
ReplyDeleteThe Raw intro ending on Diesel Squared just makes me lulz.
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't been really their top priority for the past year.
ReplyDeleteThis song sounds like its a Linkin Park cover band.
ReplyDeleteThat Raw theme is terrible.
ReplyDeleteSeth Mates?
ReplyDeletethis is legit
ReplyDeleteCan confirm!
ReplyDeleteIs that the box with the VIP's?
ReplyDeleteYou can tell how thin the roster is by how many guys are shows multiple times in the intro
ReplyDeleteWe start with Roman...and it's straight girlpop covered by boos.
ReplyDeleteGirls shriek but mostly boos
ReplyDeleteAnd not even a particularly hot one either.
ReplyDeleteNice pop, Roman.
ReplyDeleteI hope Steve Austin inducts Rikishi.
ReplyDelete"Boooooooo!" Yikes.
ReplyDeleteBut do you remember the name?
ReplyDeleteRollins.
ReplyDeleteWho was it?
ReplyDeleteRoman needs new music in the worst way. Should have debuted it after the RR.
ReplyDeleteNWA stronghold CBus bringing it!
ReplyDeleteRock, 100%
ReplyDeleteNo idea. But fake boobs do almost nothing for me.
ReplyDeleteHe really has turned into the next Cena.
ReplyDeleteThey aren't booing they are saying Brooooooo cause Roman is their Bro
ReplyDeleteHes been promoted to the pre show.
ReplyDeleteThat spear is still the tits.
ReplyDeleteBRRRRRRABADOOOOOO
ReplyDeleteTonight is the night?
ReplyDeleteDemoted? It's the first screen time the dude's had in forever!
ReplyDeleteNeeds to be a rock theme. And not Nickelback. They haven't had a good song since 2005
ReplyDeleteJohn Pollock insisted "Denver chose Reigns" on the Review-a-Raw podcast last week based on the spear, it was pretty sad.
ReplyDeleteMaybe. But kiddies not popping for him yet. Just the girls.
ReplyDeleteThey cheer, they boo, I love it MAGGLE.
ReplyDeleteI don't think so.
ReplyDeleteRoman Reigns's crowd reaction is only .5 on the Bootista scale tonight. Maybe he still has a chance.
ReplyDeleteYou mean they're trying to start a BOOOO RAAAAH chant.
ReplyDeleteOh god he's got the mic!
ReplyDeleteGo check seth rollins twitter says cult status
ReplyDeleteFairy tale time
ReplyDeleteTrollman Reigns!
ReplyDeleteReigns is pretty over tonight...
ReplyDeleteIt's a Danimal Convention!
ReplyDeleteWeird, he seemed pretty down on him on Bauer and Pollock.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of fairy tale is he gonna tell tonight?
ReplyDeleteWhy would you give him a mic. Vince is seriously crazy.
ReplyDeleteNickelback. Good. Does not compute.
ReplyDeleteDamn that fucking smark haven city Columbus for booing Roman Reigns. Fucking smarks, cant wait for WWE to get back to a non-smark town.
ReplyDeleteRollins deleted it within seconds.
ReplyDeleteExcept every time that it hasn't happened, Roman.
ReplyDeleteLol.
ReplyDelete"I fight Brock Lesnar for the world championship" gets booed like FUCK
ReplyDeletestill there i just checked
ReplyDeleteBLEAT
ReplyDeleteWould.
ReplyDeleteThe Authority arent the only ones that dont want you in that spot....
ReplyDeleteThen you should consider that option.
ReplyDeleteUh oh, looks like he's not liking the boos.
ReplyDeleteWWE needs to stay away from college towns during WM build up.
ReplyDelete
