Will Jon Stewart be Appearing at WrestleMania ?
It appears that Stewart's angle with Seth Rollins had ended on RAW and Stewart himself will not be making an appearance at WrestleMania.

Update on the Goldust/Stardust Feud?
The feud between Goldust and Stardust has been nixed as the company felt that it was not working. Goldust will not be added to the IC Title Ladder Match at WrestleMania but might get added to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

So what does this do to Dustin's retirement? Do they have his last match on the RAW after Mania, blowing off that Stardust angle and having the smart fans give Dustin a big respectful sendoff?
ReplyDeleteI had half a mind that, if Goldust had been in the IC ladder match, he might've actually won the thing to give him a "Mania moment" (he's never actually won a WM match) and a quickie 24-hour run as champion.
Vince Russo makes it very easy to dislike Vince Russo.
ReplyDeleteNo Jon Stewart at Wrestlemania? FUCK THIS SHIT. I'm not going to watch now.
ReplyDeleteSo that was it with Stewart? What was the point then?
ReplyDeleteUm, dunno. I don't even know who he is. Went over my head.
ReplyDeleteSome mainstream press?
ReplyDeleteMaybe he wins the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.
ReplyDeleteI read the first paragraph of the Russo piece. I'll be damned if I'll read even a word more.
ReplyDeleteDitto. Read a few sentences, scanned down the page, closed the tab.
ReplyDelete'Some' is being generous. Sounds like the deal was aborted.
ReplyDeleteCan't see it happening but that would be really, really cool.
ReplyDeleteSo the E says the 'Dusts feud "isn't working". Well gee, you royally screw up the timing and do things when they're not over anymore, then blame the talent for not getting it over.
ReplyDeleteTwo matches that should be at WM (Miz/Mizdow, Gold/Stardust) aren't. And they wonder why people complain.
He really is awful. The guy never admits to his failures and deflects the blame elsewhere constantly.
ReplyDeleteBecause they're telling...stories?
ReplyDeleteYes, THIS gets aborted, but Roman's going to win the title. Whatevs.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, we can live through replays of Stewart kicking Rollins in the nuts for decades to come.
ReplyDeleteAdvice time...totally did not think about the fact that yesterday was 3 year anniv. of my wife's father's death. Now what do I do? She didn't bring it up yesterday, I did not notice her being annoyed at me about anything (but could have missed something)
ReplyDeleteI see my options as admit that I didn't realize it yesterday and apologize
Mention it but act like I didn't want to bring it up since you didn't bring it up
Carry on as if nothing happened, and probably try and up my good husband efforts this weekend
Thoughts?
Honestly, she is struggling a bit right now so be extra kind to her. Its the best way to go about things. She will appreciate it too. Maybe not for a few days but she will.
ReplyDeleteDon't bring it up. I had the same situation at the end of February. If she doesn't talk about it it's not necessary to bring up.
ReplyDeleteBooby Roode must be a financial genius to be with TNA all these years and keep resigning with the company. Or is it a case of being in a comfort zone?
ReplyDeleteVery close shoot interview poll right now. James Mitchell has a one vote lead on both Mr. Fuji and Paul Bearer.
ReplyDeleteWith so many jobbers in the battle royal this year, they should just rename it the Brooklyn brawler battle royal
ReplyDeleteTechnically he didn't re-sign.

Bobby Roode @REALBobbyRoode · 13h13 hours ago
To set record straight... I never had to re sign anything... I'm honoring my contract that is already in place. #Loyalty
Can't they just finish the Dust feud? What would it hurt to give them 8-10 minutes at a 4-hour long Wrestlemania. Will it be less over than the Divas tag match? Who cares? Most of the card won't be over. Put Dusty in as the ref, make it Dustin's last match, put Cody over, have a hug moment in the ring, have Dustin take DeMott's spot, the end. Tell me how that wouldn't be a nice little moment...?
ReplyDeleteGo out of your to be nice to her and if she gets a little edgy/pissy walk away.
ReplyDeleteAnd never mention it
I think it's her thing, to be honest. If she wanted to talk about it she'd have brought it up. Just be nice to her, but I wouldn't bring it up myself.
ReplyDeleteThe Andre the Giant I remember would be pissed that his name is associated with a battle royal that is forgotton about two weeks after it happens. That trophy should have been part of Casero's character after he won it.
ReplyDeleteAnd people question me on why I removed the network, won't watch Mania and haven't watched Raw in weeks.
ReplyDeleteThey just really can't get the most simple things right
Dude's nearly 40, which pretty much rules out any WWE run (if they even had interest, which they didn't as of two years ago) and as a veteran who's been there since day one, probably (PROBABLY) makes about as much with TNA as he could on the indies, but with TNA, they do all the legwork of scheduling his dates and shit.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's financial genius as much as realizing there's no point in rocking the boat as things really can't get any better.
Wrestlemania is on March 29th. My baby girl will be here April 12th. It's a shame she will be born into a world that see Roman Reigns as WWE champion.
ReplyDeleteBELEE dada.
He probably likes having a lot of free time
ReplyDeleteOh no. You're going to be criticized for not being the right kind of fan.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention that it should be titled "The Bill Demott that I Know." The guy didn't friggin' die.
ReplyDeleteI still have the Network but admittedly I haven't been watching it much lately. I think the novelity has finally worn off.
ReplyDeleteIf the Goldust/Stardust feud wasn't working (and I think that it was), it's because the writers don't have a clue how to write a brother vs. brother storyline. That's one of the oldest storylines in the world (Cain and Abel). All they would need to do is watch tapes of Bret vs. Owen in 1994. The Network is RIGHT THERE for them to use.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she didn't realize it, either. Maybe she did, but didn't want to dwell on it because she misses her dad. Either way, don't bring it up. If SHE mentions it, say you remember, but you wanted to give her her space over it, and offer to do something in his memory, if she wants to.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, go about your day as normal. Maybe buy her some flowers, just because.
So what does all these new TNA contacts look like? "You are contracted to work the 10 television tapings we will be doing between now and March 2016, and maybe a PPV or 2 if we can scrounge up the cash to put them on."
ReplyDeleteWell, what would you have Stewart do? Back up Orton? Why does the "IED"-suffering apex predator viper need a TV show host in his corner?
ReplyDeleteAnd celebrities trying to wrestle sucks. I don't want Stewart "mixing it up" with Rollins.
Maybe their idea of "brother vs. brother" is Hulk Hogan vs. Bad News Brown.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they shouldn't have split the team up to begin with. It's not like they have a plethora of tag teams to carry the division right now anyway, and they obviously enjoy working together. Dustin is better now than he ever has been in his career.
ReplyDeleteWhat do the new contracts look like?
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING IS FINE

Hashtag Loyalty. It's so *douchey* when people write like that. He's nearly 40 years old.
ReplyDelete"Coming to the ring, and still stuck in pergatory until he's too old to go somewhere people can see him....BOBBY ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
ReplyDeleteYou could ask her how she is feeling. If she mentions anything about it, go into how you were thinking about her father and his passing, his good characteristics, and in part how glad you are he existed for it led to your wife, et al. Say you didn't want to bring it up on the actual date, as it celebrates his death more so than his life. Encourage her to carry his memory on by living a good, fulfilling life.
ReplyDeleteThough, I'm not married. Maybe the answer is to avoid.
But it's like they split them up just to do the Brother vs. Brother match at Mania, and now decided that they're not doing the match. LONG TERM PLANNING!
ReplyDeleteJust watched Hogan-Giant from Hog Wild 1996. Talk about a boring-ass match. At least now, watching the following Monday Nitro, I get the Dungeon of Doom vs. Rough n Ready and High Voltage to kick off the show with some activity!
ReplyDeleteJesus, what has become of my life?
It worked fine until they told the "Goldust and Stardust don't seem to be on the same page" step of the story for like 7 months straight.
ReplyDeleteAlso, as there's no better place to bring this up, I hated that they were officially calling them Gold & Stardust.
The guy's name is Goldust, not Gold.
Hashtags are awful especially when people use them outside of Twitter.
ReplyDeleteDid you enjoy watching The Giant lay there for a half hour during the post-match?
ReplyDeleteThey're good for punchlines. #thesearethejokesfolks
ReplyDeleteWhen you start using hashtags in every day life, you're an asshole. If you're just using a hashtag on Twitter, it's fine.
ReplyDeleteYea I think this is how I'll go I just feel like a schmuck for not having been a little extra caring last night
ReplyDeleteFun Fact: Bobby Roode is only one month younger than John Cena.
ReplyDeleteI just assumed Giant was actually a narcoleptic who fell asleep because A) the match was so boring and B) the post-match promo with Ed Leslie was also a snooze fest.
ReplyDeleteno I have no doubt she was aware but yea thanks for the advice.
ReplyDeleteThen I'll go with comfort zone, which isn't a bad thing. How much of the WWE roster is comfortable these days?
ReplyDeleteSo I had to be up at 6 this morning, yet stayed up almost past midnight to watch Spurs-Cavs. It was almost like LeBron was telling Kyrie that he needs to step up. And it was almost like Blatt was telling Kevin Love "have fun in Los Angeles or New York next season."
ReplyDeleteIt's also assumed now that tag teams HAVE to break up. They want to turn every team into Shawn/Marty breakup, but not every tag team has a friggin' Shawn Michaels on it.
ReplyDelete#JESUISCHARLIE
ReplyDeleteFuck off mate,no you're not.
Thanks to all for the advice I saw her sister mention it on instagram when I was scrolling through this morning and was like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
ReplyDeleteIs she the type that would be mad about shit like that? My dad died about 3 years and I don't need anyone bringing it up or really feel the need in recognizing the anniversary of it. I'm pretty sure you would know if she was upset or needed support or something. I would just leave it alone unless you feel that she needs to talk or something.
ReplyDeleteThey're verbal agreements to save on paper.
ReplyDeleteNitro on Monday, Hog Wild on Saturday, Nitro again on Monday, Clash of the Champions on Thursday? Jesus, what a packed week of WCW.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that never makes sense to me. Remember the great WWF tag team division of the 1980s? Once the Rockers split happened, WWF has tried to split every team I can think of once they got hot, even guys who really had no business being split (New Age Outlaws, Dudleys).
ReplyDeleteHardy Boyz
ReplyDeleteIt pays to be Roode!
ReplyDeleteThe streaming quality was crap for me throughout February, and it has barely gotten better. That alone is enough for me to cancel when my 6 months is up
ReplyDeleteSo what match should be the final match at wm? I would go with sting/hhh.
ReplyDeleteThat Love signing looks worse and worse all the time. 3 first rounders for him and he has yet to look like he fits even once all season. Is it Blatt's fault?
ReplyDeleteI saw the highlights.
ReplyDeleteI now understand why LeBron wears a headband.
Jeff had enough charisma to pull off a singles run though, so I at least get that one. Bubba Ray too, I guess, but it wasn't until years later.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that always annoys the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteHell, they were talking about splitting the USOs at some stage - if every there was a team that should be a TEAM for their career, it's them. Same with the PTP, it was moronic splitting them.
I'd put the Divas tag match at the end.
ReplyDeleteThat was one of the biggest problems with the NWO: almost ALL of their matches were boring as hell.
ReplyDeleteShe has certainly taken it hard on the day of the first couple of years. She knows I'm terrible with dates and that it's pretty much her responsibility to remind me of my own parents birthdays but I'm just feeling like a piece of crap for not getting into my phone calendar till today so I can at least be conscious of it. I doubt I would have work up yesterday going "So your dad died on this day...in case you forgot..that sucks.." But I at least would have known I was being extra affectionate
ReplyDeleteIMO, it should always be the WWE Title match.
ReplyDeleteRoman/Lesnar. Not that it SHOULD be, or even that I WANT it to be, but just for the unintentional entertainment value.
ReplyDeleteBut it has to at this point.
I guess by WWE's definition, long term booking is knowing they'll scrap a storyline within 4 months without reason
ReplyDeleteThe Usos need to be a career tag team simply because they are identical twins. How they hell can you significantly distinguish them enough to ever make the audience think of them as separate individuals?
ReplyDeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteThey tried Love down on the block and it didn't work. He's being used similar to how Bosh was being used. I will say that Tristan Thompson could fill a similar role at a cheaper price.
Would it be fair to say that the Dust feud might not be working because "one tag partner turns on the other" has become massively cliché? It worked in the old days, but it's overdone now. There are exceptions, of course, but on the whole it feels played out.
ReplyDeleteI just don't think he's a fit in their offense. He's a really expensive stretch 4. It's pointless to have him at the rim because of the spacing issue that would result. If he played any sort of defense you could live with it, but they should let him walk and walk quickly.
ReplyDeleteTalking segment with the Authority.
ReplyDeleteStreaming is never been a major issue for me other than the occassional freeze (Dell Alienware/Windows 7/cable). Just bored with it right now.
ReplyDeleteIt's as over as any other match on the card.
ReplyDelete"Bill DeMott was in my view everything a wrestler should be"
ReplyDelete-Vince Russo, 2015
HAHA this Russo article is gold! HE had to go to wikipedia to figure out who all was in Misfits in action....a group he created and was head booker for
ReplyDeleteI agree. They never should have turned on each other to begin with.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't work because they teased it without pulling the trigger too often and for too long. Had they done it while Cody and Goldust were hot, it would have been gangbusters, but they waited until everyone stopped caring about them and hoped that the break-up would change people's minds.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't work.
I wouldn't worry if I were you. You can do something nice for her and that would be cool but I don't see why she would hold it anything against you. Its not like you forgot her birthday or valentine's day or something
ReplyDeleteKYRIE!
ReplyDeleteCongrats man. Me and my partner are finding out today if she is indeed carrying a little one, so I feel your excitement.
ReplyDeleteIt also makes as much sense as people saying Sting-HHH should go on last.
ReplyDeleteIt's WrestleMania, and Sting-HHH isn't HBK-Undertaker. Shit, it isn't even LT-Bam Bam. Put the WWE World Title match on last.
I would like to watch more old shows I have never seen but i give up when the damn stream freezes up every 5 seconds. I don't have time for that shit
ReplyDelete"Look, there are no sides here, that’s not what this is about." right before he goes on to talk about how this respectable man with a family doesn't have a job now.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking about? Last night he was pour, but in the last 10 games, he's averaging nearly 17/9 a game.
ReplyDeleteNew Jersey backcourt.
ReplyDelete......Valentine's day......shit...that's coming up soon isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure what the end game was with that deal. Not much thought was put into it from the start. Just a random deal that will be forgotton about.
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to see what happens. Triple H has said before (when defending him going on last at WM18) that for the title match NOT to go on last at WrestleMania spits on everyone who held the title before it.
ReplyDeleteTake it from the source
ReplyDeleteWatching him struggle to stay relevant is more depressing than Randy the Ram.
ReplyDeleteHe acts like one of those teenage girls who claims that she "hates drama" but always seems to be involved in a lot of it.
Hogan was still working on the heel act in the ring.
ReplyDelete"Triple H has said before (when defending him going on last at WM18) that for the title match NOT to go on last at WrestleMania spits on everyone who held the title before it. So he was going to put himself over Brock for the title and make his match with Sting a title match."
ReplyDeleteFTFY
Wine and Gold, beetch!
ReplyDeleteThe dumbest thing is, they don't want a single Goldust vs. Stardust match at Mania, which apparently has been an idea for a long time. Fine, but the out was to put them both in the ladder match. Instead, they Wrestlemania XV'ed it, and put Goldust in the battle royal?! JUST PUT THEM BOTH IN THE SAME MATCH AND BE DONE WITH IT! My God, the stupidity.
ReplyDeleteWrestlemania that has the most separation for me in terms of excitement towards and feeling after the show has got to be Wrestlemania XVII. I thought:
ReplyDelete-The Rock was gonna be doing cool shit all show long, and heavily involved in the main event.
-Michael Cole was gonna get wrecked for 5 minutes straight, piledriven, and King and Austin would pour beer on his prone body.
-CM Punk and Orton were gonna have a classic
-Rey and Cody were gonna have a classic
-HHH and Taker were gonna have a classic
-Miz was gonna go balls out to make sure his shot at a WM Main event would be epic.
And, respectively:
-didn't happen
-match went INSANELY different than how it should have been
-fulfilled. Love that match. Thought it was a really cool and unique contest.
-Nope, **3/4 - ***
-Started out amazing, had a cool ending, plodding in bewtween, props for an awesome tombstone by HHH. ***3/4
-bahahaha wow I was wrong. (Nas video was like the only cool thing of that entire last half hour)
But even if they did Cody's turn at the right time, would anyone have been overly interested in that as a storyline? It's been done a million times and rarely does it generate much interest. I think back to Cryme Tyme and such like.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I hope congrats are in order for you as well.
ReplyDeleteCody and Goldust were, at one point, more over than Cryme Tyme. Nothing seems to have a long-lasting impact any more, but it would, at the time, have more heat while it was happening if it was done two years ago.
ReplyDeleteI still contend that the Cole/Lawler match should have been a shot for shot remake of the Kaufman angle... but with Lawler getting the pin instead of a DQ. Easy stuff to do.
ReplyDeleteAnything less than Reigns holding up the title to close WM would cut the nuts off his push.
ReplyDeleteTypo dude. XVII is 17
ReplyDeleteWe have quite the basketball and general sports reach. In my HS bball career I played Kyrie, MKG, Bynum, Muhammad Wilkerson and Kyle Wilson of the Jets, Anthony Davis of the 49ers, and Corey Fischer.
ReplyDelete"What's a wrestler?"
ReplyDelete- Vince Russo, 2015
"We have, as you know, Saturday night coming up this coming Saturday."
ReplyDeleteLove the clarity, Schiavone!
Add to that, his way of staying "relevant" is a column on wrestlezone. He hasn't got the rights to that website back yet has he?
ReplyDeleteAlso, you hear Jason Worilds (formerly Adjepong) from Carteret retired from the NFL to become a Jehovah's Witness? Crazy.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's a shame because I loved the idea of Wiggins and Lebron together. Letting Love walk and saving the cap/salary space is the right this at this point. Seeing where Love winds up next season will be fun.
ReplyDeleteSo in other words, Wrestlemania was
ReplyDelete*glasses*
Creating separation.
YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!
So since being let go from his secret TNA job, Vince Russo started writing for WhatCulture, which we know doesn't pay all that much. Then he started writing weekly columns for WrestleZone, which I can imagine pay much either. He started a podcast that is basically ignored against dozens of more popular wrestling podcasts. He also started his own website, which he was later kicked out of because he (allegedly) refused to pay the webmaster.
ReplyDeleteI don't intend to kick a man when he's down, but does Russo realize he is trying to make money off an internet wrestling audience that largely despises him and what his writing did to the industry?
Has he ever attempted to branch out from wrestling? If he's such a "talented" TV writer, why has he never worked on any other type of television program?
Yeah, I think he's just comfortable doing what he's doing.
ReplyDeleteI hate V-Day dude, I pissed off a few chicks because i didn't really recognize it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good way of describing him.
ReplyDeleteLike most WWE/celebrity crossovers, it got one of Vince's guys on a show that the WWE didn't produce, so it accomplished the intended goal. There's rarely anything more to it than that.
ReplyDeleteBravo! Bravo! *throws roses*
ReplyDeleteI hope for his sake that he invested that WCW money for retirement, because he's not all that talented. Most of his ideas were stolen from movies. Wrestling does that a lot anyway, but it doesn't bode well for his career writing anything outside of wrestling.
ReplyDeleteJR played for Bobby Hurley's brother in high school right? I remember him getting mentioned during the "Miracle of St. Anthony" book.
ReplyDeleteThat GD/SD match at Fastlane was awkward as hell and the finish looked botched. I'll be happy to not see them wrestle again
ReplyDeleteIt's not just that we hate *him*, it's that he hates *us*. He's always bashing internet fans for being idiots while he tries to make a buck off them. Who does he actually think his audience is? Smart fans who hate other smart fans? His entire target demo is people like Dougie or John Edwards?
ReplyDeleteThat thing with his website is such crap. Seems like he really swindled Chris Cash. I don't really like Chris Cash but he got screwed.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about Daniel Bryan as I'm prone to do and then started wondering if there's some serious resentment towards him for getting injured after WM30. In their petty minds, could they be thinking, "We gave this guy a Superman push at WM30 and he fell apart on us".
ReplyDeleteThen I started thinking about the matches DB had before WM30. He was getting chokeslammed and thrown around by Big Show, Kane, Batista, Swagger, Cesaro and others (also suffering a concussion in December-ish) for months and often wrestling two and sometimes three times a night on a RAW and Smackdown. I don't even remember Shawn Michaels cutting that kind of schedule because once the injuries started showing up, they slowed Shawn down to wrestling once a week and less before WM14.
I'm finding that when WWE finds a smaller guy who gets over and can wrestle his heart out, they really put him in long, grueling matches. They did that with Punk until he finally couldn't do it anymore. And DB already had like a decade of hard-hitting matches under his belt.
If he wouldn't remind me what day WCW Saturday Night was on, I'd be super confused.
ReplyDelete"Bro"
ReplyDelete-Vince Russo, 2015
He said it all got wiped out from the 2008 crash. He's doing all these ventures because he needs the cash. He said something to that effect when he was giving the details behind his secret TNA job and why he took it.
ReplyDeleteGreat point. This would be like Bob Dylan trying to play exclusively to folk audiences after he went electric. Except that Bob Dylan has talent.
ReplyDeleteI honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Bryan walk out of WWE ala Punk in a year or so if it continues to go the way it is for him.
ReplyDeleteI've thought about this too and I'm more convinced now that he is just another Ziggler to them. Smaller guy, injury prone, fan loved. He's there for if we ever need to fill a hole and we can push him because he has a fan base but we aren't going to trust him anymore with a big push unless there isn't another option.
ReplyDeleteThat would be shocking, considering Daniel Bryan isn't the perpetual hothead that Punk admits to being.
ReplyDeleteCole beating Lawler at Mania in a 15 minute match was one of the biggest "Huh?" moments in WWE booking history, and that says a LOT
ReplyDeleteIs he that kind of guy though? from everything I've heard he isn't.
ReplyDeleteJR Smith was an interesting character in HS. He started and Steinert in Hamilton, transferred to McCorriston in Trenton, then to Lakewood HS, then finally to St. Benedict's and Dan Hurley in Newark. Just for a frame of reference Hamilton and Trenton are 15 minutes apart, every other school is an hour and a half away. from one another.
ReplyDeleteThe Miracle of St. Anthony is a great book, have you ever seen "The Street Stops Here" about St. Ant's? Amazing doc.
Bryan seems to put a lot more value into his health than most in wrestling. He could use that as his crutch for why he leaves. He has plenty of money and doesn't need to wrestle multiple matches per show and be rewarded by having to put over a guy that nobody likes and being called a turd on national television.
ReplyDeleteI think if DB leaves wrestling, it's due to injuries. I don't think he has that much time left as his neck problem isn't one that's just going to disappear after a few treatments.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's why he should have had the rocket push now. Might as well cash in on a popular performer while you can.
To this he responds "8.4 Raw Rating " - Vince Russo
ReplyDeleteIt's a SHAME you didn't write a LOT of unnecessary CAPITAL LETTERS in that, like the BILL DEMOTT that VINCE RUSSO $%&* knew!!!
ReplyDeleteI believe so. I met his family before playing in a pickup game in Freehold awhile back and it was clear his family had talent. He was just a fucking moron.
ReplyDeletebut all the money they would lose by not starting the Roman empire
ReplyDelete"From DAY ONE...."
ReplyDelete- Vince Russo, since birth.
I'm talking about him sitting in the 4th quarter of last nights crucial win against San Antonio and many other instances like this season. He has had his moments but on the whole Love has looked like the odd man out. Max players don't get benched in the 4th quarter of what is essentially a playoff game. Love will likely get max money this off season does Cleveland really want to match that when they don't even use him in some instances? Should have kept Wiggins/Bennett/1st round and made a play for Love in the off season when he would have been a free agent.
ReplyDeleteVince Russo is like those bands that had a hit in the 90s and still tour on the nostalgia circuit. Nothing wrong with that and the shows can be fun, but it would his attitude would be like if Right Said Fred were pissed off nobody listened to their new stuff. Either Russo learns some tricks or just realize he's been left behind and tell us for the millionth time how he helped "create" The Rock.
ReplyDeleteRusso would play electric to a folk audience..wink at the audience and say "I'm just doing this to piss you off" switch back to acoustic mid song...then back to electric and say...No I'm serious and will only play electric from now on!
ReplyDeleteThe only way they know how to book smaller wrestlers in the "big man vs. little man" dynamic, specifically if they go up against the almighty Authority.
ReplyDeleteJefe, what is a plethora?
ReplyDeleteYes but you don't understand..."From Day one! From day one they were against me"
ReplyDeletePutting a guy that just came back from a career threatening next injury in a spot fest ladder match seems ridiculous to me, but maybe they cleared it with him, maybe he won't be taking any insane bumps. But to add to your point, Edge went on record saying he was done with ladder matches after his neck injury and he must have been in 6 after that.
ReplyDeleteRusso would advertise a folk playlist, then play rap just to swerve the crowd. And if they complained, he'd call them stupid.
ReplyDeleteActually, he wouldn't even play music. He'd make them watch him doing his laundry.
ReplyDeleteDamn. You're good, mike.
ReplyDeleteI played in pickup games several years back with ex college and NBA players. The NBA players were not well known or anything and older. Still good though and could shoot lights out.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how long he's under contract, but if they continue to not do anything with him, I could see him quietly finishing out his dates and then alternating between being at home and going to Japan. I could also see WWE pettily try to trademark the YES chants and give them to another wrestler.
ReplyDeleteHe did an interview awhile back where he got low scores on a personality test when it came to ambition. Long story short the things he cares about are just different than what the higher ups consider important. I respect that.
ReplyDeleteI thought they DID try to do that.
ReplyDeleteThey say that's always the last thing that goes. Athleticism and jumping ability, but the last thing that goes is your jump shot.
ReplyDeleteActually he would be the concert promoter who bumps Dylan down the card in order to headline the show himself
ReplyDeleteIf Russo can have a blog that strictly caters to them and gets them out of here, i'd love it. Maybe Vinnie Rue and Scotsman need to pair up.
ReplyDelete"I don't even remember Shawn Michaels cutting that kind of schedule because once the injuries started showing up,"
ReplyDeleteI believe he did run an angle when he wrestled Vader where he said the schedule was a lot. He also did one where he talked about Bret thinking that all he had to do was wrestle and didn't consider all of the interviews/promotion a face champion had to do.
No I haven't, but I'll have to check it out; where can I watch that?
ReplyDeleteYep and IIRC Bryan asked Del Rio, Show et al to stop leeching it.
ReplyDeleteI've often wondered what the hell was up with that. For a business that is so intent on locker room respect, you would think the supposed old-school guys would have bitched up a storm about it.
ReplyDeleteI don't see it. He seems a lot more similar to Kofi Kingston in personality than CM Punk.
ReplyDeleteThat spot at WrestleMania 23 looks ridiculous in hindsight.
ReplyDeleteAnd Unforgiven 06.
ReplyDeleteVince's apparent wish to "travel" Polynesia being the driving force of this Wrestlemania has been kinda fun.
ReplyDeleteProblem with that approach is you potentially book yourself into a corner, like WrestleMania X8.

ReplyDeleteRight here actually.
Can you trademark a chant?
ReplyDeleteThey did try to give it to Big Show. Didn't work out too well.
And in regards to smaller workers, Shawn was a big bumper, too for the big guys as getting beat up was part of his match formula whereas Bret saved his big bumps for bigger matches and went more toe-to-toe with the heavyweights.
ReplyDeleteMy best friend got pissed at me when I teased her about something she was actually upset about (it's always fucking hard to distinguish tone on the Internet!). Even though I profusely apologized immediately, she froze me out the rest of the night and wouldn't respond to my call or texts.
ReplyDeleteI really wish my Lexapro prescription was up to date cause I really fucking need it right now.
I think his philosophical differences with Vince (ever since the millennials comments saw the light of day) in particular will be a sticking point. His off-WWE interviews have expressed more bewilderment over the last few months rather than his usual enthusiasm.
ReplyDeleteI don't hate any of y'all nor do I particularly like Russo either. Sorry n shit
ReplyDeleteWho thought Rey v. Cody would be a classic? Or HHH v. Taker? I was prepared to sit on my hands for HHH v. Taker.
ReplyDeleteBobby Roode in TNA= Tommy Dreamer in ECW
ReplyDeleteJust let her cool down and apologize again in a couple of days. She probably froze out your immediate apology because she was angry.
ReplyDeleteHow many calls and texts were there?
ReplyDeleteWalk out? No.
ReplyDeleteNot resign? Yes. (pardon the pun)
Happy Friday the 13th...

The most blatant one was the Big Show.
ReplyDeleteRoode is far,far more talented than Dreamer ever was.
ReplyDeleteHe should try to become Editor-in-Chief of WWE magazine.
ReplyDeleteHow great of TNA to resign Bobby Roode to a contract...they aren't really paying him since they currently don't have any house shows, PPvs and have cancelled their next round of TV tapings.
ReplyDeleteIt's bullshit how they've used him. I can't think of a worse way a main eventer has been used. They really don't understand star power.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Bret was a 'ground and pound" technical type that didn't leave his feet that much. Shawn threw caution to the wind and did more planchas and things like that.
ReplyDeleteJust as deluded though.
ReplyDeleteLeave her alone for now. You already apologized. Give her time to come around because trying to make her talk to you wont help.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I read on the "other" site. TNA wrestlers got the green light to wrestle other indy dates.
ReplyDeleteCheap Tattoo day!!!
ReplyDeleteWell at least there is that..I'm sure even they were smart enough to see law suits coming if they didn't give them some way to make a living.
ReplyDeleteI know we bitch and moan a lot, and some of it is just venting or cracking jokes. But seeing him fall through a trap door and into the midcard/IC title vortex was pretty damn depressing. I find myself caring more about the old network shows and NXT than Raw.
ReplyDeleteI think one of Scott's finest hours was when he was one of the first to really turn on Russo with his Netcop vs Russo rant. It was a good month or so before Russo left for WCW, and Scott was ahead of the curve in realizing that the guy was just completely creatively shot.
