Mid-South DVD?

Hi Scott, hope you are well.
I recently picked up the Mid-South DVD that was put out a while back, and I was wondering if you ever got around to watching it. Definitely seems to be up your alley, with several fine matches and plenty of old-time MANLY wrasslin'. And Terry Taylor's story of working with Flair (with the match following) would probably be worth several wooos from you. Anyway, if you haven't watched it, and have time in between Network shows, it's defintely worth a look. Take care.

I still have a 12-DVD set of the TV shows that I bought from a guy online and haven’t even cracked that one open yet.

For reference, the following is my current pile of “to do” DVD reviews after one of my ridiculously dedicated fans went on Amazon and bought me a bunch of shit last month:

1.  Best of Sting Blu Ray

2.  Ultimate Warrior: Always Believe Blu Ray

3.  Chris Jericho “The Road is Jericho” Blu Ray

4.  Macho Man’s latest Blu Ray (the one where I reviewed the documentary on the WWE network)

5.  Old stuff like Hulk Hogan’s Ultimate Anthology, the Roddy Piper set, and the Allied Powers tag team DVD set.  Which was not bought for me but I still intend to review someday.

So there you go, if I get through all of THAT, then I might get to the Mid-South set someday.  When I’m 80.

  1. First!

    uh...hello? Anyone?

    Just me. Hi Hoss!

  3. Talking of reviews, does anyone watch The Mark Remark regularly? That is truly ace.

  4. Hey Matt. :-)

Dammit Bayless...where's our generic discussion thread? Slacker!

He's not supposed to have a life, damn it!

  6. I never liked ferris. I'm more of a Parker Lewis guy

  7. Mr. Lewis did not have a film, and the Bueller TV show bombed. Kind of apples and oranges there, sir.

  8. Just stop having a life and get to reviewing already.

  9. I'm really considering picking up Cornette's Crockett DVDs, but the whole "time to watch 16 DVDs of old wrestling" thing.

  10. I don't own the Hogan sets anymore, but I seriously want to track down those tapes to do my From the Hogan seats review.

    Hulkamania II
Hulkamania III: Hogan doing a pseudo shoot on his boat is classic. Sadly this is more of a storyline interview fully kayfaybe in Hogan's normal voice and no references of Andre shooting on him or weighing 7000 pounds.
    Hulkamania 4
    Hulkamania Forever
Hulkamania 6: Only American tape release of Hogan vs. Hansen.
The Hulkster, Hulk Hogan: 1985 short tape.
The Immortal Hulk Hogan: 1992 short tape
    Hulk Still Rules
    The Hulk Hogan Anthology
    The 2009 DVD set
The six hours of Samari TV - Hogan in Japan

I lost all of those a while back. Would love to YouTube some Hogan matches and review them.

  11. What's the worst wwe produced DVD/ Blu-Ray ever? PPV releases don't count.

  12. Self Destruction of Warrior.

  13. In retropect, the benoit set.

The big show set wins for me.

  14. Randy Orton Evolution of a Predator hands down

  15. The Love-Matic Grampa!May 17, 2015 at 4:30 PM

I get what they were trying to do with the "static edit", but it annoyed me after awhile.

Also, would WWE be better off just editing out entrances altogether for these DVDs? Because some of their replacement music choices have been...less than ideal.

  16. He simply can't lose.

  17. Worst WWE set? The Mr. America one.

  18. The Mr. America 3-DVD set.

  19. The twisted disturbed life of kane

  20. The Mid-South set is great, the entire brilliant DiBiase/Murdoch/Flair angle, them admitting JYD was crap in the ring but incredible charisma and Terry Taylor's Flair story is priceless.

  21. ◔◔◔◔◔◔$89 /hour on the internet@me33//<-Make A huge profit just doing Simple Tasks....... 22. NWO The Revolution. I waited ten years for them to make a new set that didn't skip right from 96 to 02 and the new set did exactly that.

  23. no one got Scott the 32-disc Midnight Express DVD set with almost every televised match they've ever had?
