Well I hope everyone had a good weekend, for many of us it was of the three-day variety.
I saw most of the Elimination Chamber and it was all right I guess. The six-man was obviously the highlight as it was brilliantly booked and I like the ring generalship of The Shield. After one big double-team move Rollins slid out the ring and gave a premature celebration. A minor thing but it's that sort of enthusiasm for ass kicking that I enjoy. My husband actually called a Ryback heel turn during the match but the after match walk off all but spells out John Cena's opponent at Extreme Rulez.
The chamber match was fine although a little slow in spots. I was starting to warm up to a Orton-ADR face-on-face clash because I think they could work a pretty good match with each other but instead we get Jack Swagger v4.1 or so. Maybe Dutch Mantel is going to be the difference. I don't mind the fact that someone smarted up and got Jack a mouthpiece.
Rock-Punk was watchable. They actually did a much better job of working the stipulation into the match. Rock still isn't in ring shape and the fact is he and Cena probably have better chemistry than he and Punk because they can just trade big power moves for a half hour while Punk operates as much more of a hybrid and isn't going to be the bump machine Rock needs to play off of.
Just my opinion. Enjoy the show, come out swinging and keep it clean.

I hope the Bray Wyatt rumors turn out to be true tonight . . .
ReplyDeleteGONG! or GTFO
ReplyDeleteOdds on Cena no-selling the loss to the Shield tonight and just focusing on The Rock and his grapefruits and poopy?
ReplyDeleteJust noticed this today, but Roman Reigns makes Ryback look like a buff midget.
ReplyDeleteI think we may get more Shield/Cena stuff. After tonight, Rock will be gone for 2 weeks and they need something for Cena to do.
ReplyDeleteUsually they hold off on that kind of intro 'til after Mania, though.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to RAW every week now for the first time in a decade solely because of BOD discussion.
ReplyDeleteDid You Know?
ReplyDeleteThe people who comment at the BOD are much more entertaining than the current WWE product.
I think you have a little something to do with that. Between you, Cult, Zanadude (when he's on), YJ2, and Brocore, there's always entertaining and humorous comments. We can normally count on Worst in the World, Flair4DaGold, nwa88, and Curry to bring the more thoughtful and lengthy comments. My apologies to anyone who felt left out by this comment.
ReplyDeleteI'm calling it. Team Fatass wins the tag titles, right here TONIGHT...in Lafayette, Louisiana!
ReplyDeleteIt is everyone's patriotic duty to get the BOD up over 10,000,000 views by the end of Wrestlemania weekend.
ReplyDeleteDougie is Tensai
ReplyDeleteSO I GOT BANNED FROM 411MANIA FOR CALLING THEM OUT
ReplyDeleteCOULDN'T HANDLE ME. BIG FISH SMALL POND
ReplyDeleteThis Wyatt gimmick is like a fine piece of crystal. It can be very, very valuable but it can be screwed up/broken in a second. I wait until after Extreme Rules (after the Mania feuds have died out) to bring him in. If you rush it and it doesn't get over, WWE could ruin it. They introduced Ryback, Sandow, and Cesaro pretty darn carefully and strategically, and they've all had varied levels of success. The same amount of care should be taken for Wyatt.
ReplyDeleteYou're dead to me, can opener!
ReplyDeleteATTICA! ATTICA! ATTICA!
ReplyDeletelol. Sorry
ReplyDeleteFuj is gonna bitch.
ReplyDeleteThey should start the show with Shield in the ring, calling out the locker room, and saying they are taking over the show. "Bring on all comers... If Cena/Sheamus/The Ryback can't get it done, nobody can!"
ReplyDeleteWait, why do so many people here visit 411? Don't they just regurgitate the same news everyone else does like Wrestlezone or Lords of Pain or WrestlingInc?
ReplyDeleteFor the pictures of Nikki Minaj
ReplyDeleteLol rybacks gear doesn't help at all.
ReplyDeleteIt's convenient.
ReplyDeletehabit since the days of discovering SK rants on 411 a decade ago
ReplyDeleteSame. Plus, it keeps my antivirus sharp. Even Ric Flair needed warm-up matches.
ReplyDeleteI guarantee that no gong tonight will be as good as this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACpNVD5GMUw
ReplyDeleteWhat is, your favorite Kevin Nash moment?
ReplyDeleteThe trolls are more interesting.
ReplyDeleteImpossible to pick just one.
ReplyDeleteRock can always talk via satellite for 2 weeks though.
ReplyDeleteA good way to signal this build will be different and better than last year is to have Cena and Rock get into a brawl tonight and Cena gives him an AA through a table. Easy way to explain Rock's absence and would be a holy shit type moment.
ReplyDeleteI miss the Gong Show so much.
ReplyDeleteNo showing WCW's biggest PPV of the year?
ReplyDeleteFuj hasn't been the same Fuj as of late. He's always been a loveable ornery bastard, but lately, the negativity has been really bad. Too many f bombs and quick comments without explanation. Maybe the move got to him.
ReplyDeleteI think all the tables were future endeavored after the last 2 PPVs.
ReplyDeleteHave Punk do it, then Punk gets Gonged afterwords, isn't interested in Rock when Rock comes back and Cena is all Mr. Rock your supposed to be fighting me and whiney.
ReplyDelete"I'm the shit, I'm tellin' ya!"
ReplyDeleteEww...
ReplyDeleteThe day he blocked me for no reason at all on twitter. I was blocked by Stacy Carter, but she had a reason, I didnt even say anything to Big Daddy Douche.
ReplyDeleteFavorite Harvey Birdman ep, ever.
ReplyDeleteI change my mind. This is my favorite Kevin Nash moment.
ReplyDeleteDid not realize I'd get so many answers. I may have forgotten why I stopped visiting the site. Did they have Hyatte at some point? If they did, that's probably why I stopped. Scott doesn't give him a second thought, but Hyatte participated in the most one-sided, pathetic little internet feud I've ever seen. Or maybe it was when Scott jumped to Inside Pulse that I figured 411 didn't matter.
ReplyDeleteYeah those tables dont seem to want to cooperate lately...
ReplyDeleteWhoa, hold on. Why did Stacy Carter block you?
ReplyDeleteSorry... but Fandango is going to cut in.
ReplyDeleteI also am intrigued!
ReplyDeleteI go out of habit. It was the first board I regularly read as a mark. And they do regurgitate stuff but they do an okay job as a consolidated source of news. Also, I enjoy the ask411 column.
ReplyDeleteWatched Punk/Rock this morning - ***1/2 if I'm feeling generous. Felt like Punk basically had to broomstick the guy. Ah well, I'm fairly sure I can ignore the Cena/Rock stuff, just as I did last year.
ReplyDeleteI hope they keep The Shield together - and strong - until at least the end of the year. It's unlikely I know, but these guys feel like an attraction in the same way Lesnar does, and credit where it's due WWE have booked them perfectly so far.
ADR/Swagger. Well, it's an opening match at best, but as long as they don't repeat the booking mistake of WMXIX and have the racist win I suppose it's fine.
I have a feeling Fandango will just get squashed on Saturday Morning Slam and we'll never see the character again . . .
ReplyDeleteI stopped going there when Scott jumped to Inside Pulse. Pretty much just use LOP and BOD for my Wrestling stuff now.
ReplyDeleteAny guesses as to where The Shield go from here? They've pretty much beaten EVERYONE in less than six months. That's damn impressive, but what now?
ReplyDeleteShe posted a photo of her sister's cat and i said "My that is one big pussy." She wasnt amused. Thought she would have a better sense of humor, she did marry Kizarny after all.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing they replace Cena with Orton and do another 6 man at Mania.
ReplyDeleteWargames: Shield/Lesnar vs HHH/Orton/Sheamus/Ryback.
ReplyDeleteI kid, I kid (but, actually, now that I mention it...)
But Henry has to be fighting either Orton or Ryback at WM rigth?
ReplyDeleteBig Show.
ReplyDeleteSo if Rey Mysterio is already attending the "Lord Steven Regal School of Weight Loss" (aka adding straps to his tights), how long until he joins the "Lord Steven Regal School of Bodybuilding?" (aka pushing up his bicep with his finger.)
ReplyDeleteOne of them is turning face?
ReplyDeleteMinus 3 1/2 stars?? I think you're a little harsh there...no worse than DUD IMO.
ReplyDeleteEh. Henry was getting face pops last night and it would be easier to turn him. But I think a heel vs heel match would be much more interesting.
ReplyDeleteThese threads are the only thing keeping me watching.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the 6-man last night. Easy match of the night, in my opinion. But, damn, I wish it was an EC match. Based on what they did in a regular tag, those 6 would have killed it in a chamber.
ReplyDeleteI think being in the Chamber would have dragged it down a bit. Gimmick matches often have the gimmick the star as much as the wrestlers, and sometimes it hurts the match, especially in the PG environment where they can't really go all-out. At first I wanted to see that match in the Chamber, but after seeing it I think just making it a straight match was the right choice.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jericho, Henry attacking him after he was eliminated sets it up nicely, and it should draw pretty good heel heat from the crowd.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Punk does his promo first, so I don't have much reason to watch the rest.
ReplyDelete98 percent.
ReplyDeleteSweet D!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I heard that Jinder guy is quite the jokester.
ReplyDeleteSOMEBODY GONNA GET THEIR CAP LOCKED!
ReplyDeleteSOMEBODY GONNA GET THEIR COCK BLOCKED!
I wonder if anybody has ever figured out what was the longest (timewise) promo in RAW History. Maybe "This is your life, Rock"?
ReplyDeleteBesides the Rumble, who has Cena actually beat on a PPV since Extreme Rules?
ReplyDeleteGotta be one of HHH's.
ReplyDelete"I...am-a...The...GAME-uh!"
Didn't Trips cut a super long promo after Summerslam?
ReplyDeleteHe won MITB.
ReplyDeleteDidn't the HBK/Bret reunion go on for quite a while?
ReplyDeleteShow starts with Cena's stupid trumpet
ReplyDeleteWould figure it would be some attitude era thing where somebody comes out and blabs on forever, then someone interrupts and goes on for a while, then someone else comes out goes on forever.
ReplyDelete456.
ReplyDeleteZiggler vs Jericho for the World title.
ReplyDeleteNot enough people are point at the sign. I expect 20 tonight.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome.
ReplyDeleteThe dueling Punk/Rock promo a few weeks ago ate up the last half-hour or so, so that's up there.
ReplyDeleteI really have no desire to see that again. Still, what about Swagger?
ReplyDeleteCena opens, Dwayne closes.
ReplyDeleteRinse, lather, repeat*
*Until 8 days after Wrestlemania
I wish the trumpet would just stay on continuous loop for 3 hours.
ReplyDeleteThey don't seem to point THAT much anymore. It kind of ruins all of our joking. :(
ReplyDeletecorrect at 8:01
ReplyDelete48 NIGHTS??? We're going to have SEVEN WEEKS of hype for this shit???
ReplyDeleteIt's not truly the Road to Wrestlemania without it.
ReplyDeleteWhat year is this? Nothing ever changes
ReplyDeleteWell last night Rock officially jumped the shark for me. Since Royal Rumble I haven't even watched most of his segments on TV because the ones I saw did nothing for me. And last night Punk basically had to wrestle down to Rock's level so as not to gas him out or work circles around him. It was a good match, but Rock hasn't delivered in ring, and his promos haven't been delivering either IMO.
ReplyDeleteADR/Swagger opens the show, ADR retains. Ziggler cashes in after the match. Vickie fucks him over one more time and makes his match with Jericho a title match.
ReplyDeleteAh, he's running down the card. This is a good plan.
ReplyDeleteGong during this otherwise totally predictable Cena promo would be cool.
ReplyDeleteIf nothing else, Cena will make a fine pre-game host when he's done in the ring.
ReplyDeleteOrton squeezed one in during the chamber last night right before an RKO attempt.
ReplyDeleteAh, I feel ya. That would work for me.
ReplyDeleteWhoever pointed out that the most annoying thing about Cena's delivery is that he sounds like a cheesy game show host: couldn't be anymore true.
ReplyDeleteTHE CHAMP IS HERE!
ReplyDelete#BestInTheWorld
ReplyDeleteBUT I HAVENT HEARD CENA'S JOKES YET!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda weird they haven't really played up that it's a rematch from last year.
ReplyDeleteLIKE MUSSOLINI!
ReplyDeleteHere comes some generic heel whining
ReplyDelete... AND KENNEDDDYYYYYY
ReplyDeleteSo, they're gonna find a way to get Punk in the WM main event, right? RIGHT?
ReplyDeleteDare to dream...
I feel like we should have an answer to that by the end of this show
ReplyDeleteTerrible/crazy/slightly interesting idea. Rock's going to be off TV for 2 weeks. What if The Shield takes Rock out at Punk's behest so Punk can make sure Rock doesn't make it to Mania. You then get back into the Cena/Shield stuff as Cena looks for partners to face The Shield but each week The Shield takes out whoever is meant to team with Cena in their tag matches, leading to Cena getting his ass handed to him. Rock makes his comeback 3/11 to sorta save Cena from a beatdown but mostly to attack The Shield. They agree to team up to face Punk & The Shield on RAW 4/1 with two more teammates. They spend RAW 3/18 & 3/25 bickering, but the idea is that they're trying to recruit people; each show ends with a new person joining their team. So RAW 4/1's main event is: Punk & The Sheild vs. Rock, Cena, Sheamus, Orton -- Elimination Rules. Orton can turn on Sheamus after a miscommunication, RKO him, and that's Sheamus' elimination (also sets up his Wrestlemania match). Orton then walks out on his own team to confirm the heel turn and leave the odds 4-on-2. Rollins eats a pinfall, because he's the Buddy Roberts of the group. Reigns is DQed to protect him. Someone distracts Ambrose, maybe Team Hell No, to force his elimination. Rock and Cena then take turns teeing off on Punk. If it's going to be Rock/Cena alone at Mania, then Punk eats a pin from either guy. If it's a three-way, then Punk walks out to prevent a decisive finish and build suspense for the Mania match.
ReplyDeleteMaybe?
I know people have downplayed the triple threat idea but am I the only one who thinks it makes the most sense. Rock, Cena, and Punk's feuds have all intersected for the last 2 years. Rock is even in Punk's first pipebomb promo. A triple threat makes the most sense
ReplyDeleteThe Benoit tribute show?
ReplyDeleteI hope not...I hate Triple Threat championship matches.
ReplyDeletelol @ "18-count"
ReplyDeleteI agree, and at least that will mean that we won't see the same main event as last year.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing is that with the story they told in the match it wouldn't have worked near the end as well. It was all about how the Shield is a team and can use numbers to their advantage through strategy not luck. Sure Shield would have the advantage through the staggering of entrances into the match but that's just luck. In the 6 man tag they kept the advantage through superior team work.
ReplyDeleteWWE wants no part of Rock and Cena getting booed out of the building by the smart NY/NJ crowd, so Punk wont be a part of that match.
ReplyDeletelol FOR ONCE
ReplyDeleteYou're wrong, Cena. It's always about CM Punk you douche.
ReplyDeleteI hate Rock/Cena II, but if I get Punk/Taker, I can live with it.
ReplyDeleteFor once, it isn't about CM Punk." *click*
ReplyDeleteWM XX was an exceptional triple threat match.
ReplyDeleteHam n Eggers!
ReplyDeleteNo one from New York, Philly, or Jersey will be at the show.
ReplyDeleteSo says my sources.
In general, I agree. But I feel like these three would put on a hell of a match.
ReplyDeleteRerun!
ReplyDeleteAMEN PUNK
ReplyDeleteYes @ "Ham n Eggers"
ReplyDeleteSHOOT COMMENTS THAT ARENT SUPPOSED TO BE SHOOT COMMENTS
ReplyDeleteThis isn't generic heel whining. You promised me generic.
ReplyDeletewhy was he EVER a face?
ReplyDeleteOwned. Sorry, Cena
ReplyDeleteTHAT IS VERY REASONABLE. WALK AWAY, CENA.
ReplyDeleteCena meet Kettle.....
ReplyDelete......or put this gun in your mouth.......
ReplyDeleteTHIS KINDA OFFICIALLY MAKES IT A 3 WAY NO?
ReplyDeleteCan't argue with that logic!
ReplyDeletePlease make this into a triple threat match right now so we can actually get this done and over with.
ReplyDeleteExactly. And having it in the Chamber also would have made it so it would have been hard to see a lot of the match. For the most part I hate cage matches for that very reason.
ReplyDeleteIf they get anything like they got at WM XX for that Goldberg/Lesnar match, it will be a mess.
ReplyDeleteThis. I kind of like this.
ReplyDeleteAnd a glorious one to watch.
ReplyDeletepls gong now
ReplyDeletePunk's use of Ham-n-egger makes me very happy
ReplyDeleteJust a habit for me. I look at the MMA and Wrestling sections.
ReplyDeleteCena hasn't beat Zack Ryder either! Ryder vs Rock vs Punk vs Cena!
ReplyDeleteThis is just going to be Punk jobbing to Cena clean tonight. Awesome.
ReplyDeletePunk jobs to Cena tonight?
ReplyDeleteYES YES YES
ReplyDeleteOh shit. Now we're gonna have to go through six weeks of Super Cena. The entire roster is gonna be demolished by the time Apr. 1 gets here.
ReplyDeleteI TOLD YOU, MONSOON!!
ReplyDeleteHEY GUYS, #1 CONTENDER'S MATCH~! NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!
ReplyDeleteGOD DAMNIT WHY TONIGHT OF ALL NIGHTS
ReplyDelete411 lost Hyatte and Scott and a good chunk of folk to create Inside Pulse. But Inside Pulse pretty much collapsed when Hyatte left IP and the site basically overextended itself with music and and sports and movie wide sites no one cared about
ReplyDeleteGood Guy Honorable Cena
ReplyDeleteAnd by right now, we mean 2 hours and 45 minutes
ReplyDeleteAnd Punk is dancing with Brodus Clay next week.
ReplyDeleteA triple threat would probably be a big help for the Rock as he clearly cant go like he used to. Not that I blame him, he is doing a pretty good job considering how little ring time he has had.
ReplyDeletehere we go........
ReplyDeleteYes. Thank you Punk.
ReplyDeleteSchmozzy finish sets up a triple threat, or Punk jobs clean?
ReplyDeleteAm i the only one that preferred the royal rumble rock vs punk match to the one last night? Rock was definitely sucking wind in the rumble match but it never slowed down the match.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least they are building to it.
ReplyDeleteFlair's the champion of the world!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd now the crowd is destroyed 10 minutes into the show.
ReplyDeleteLAAAAAME
ReplyDeleteI didn't hear a single pop from anyone who has had their balls drop.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed both, the end of the Rumble match was such a bummer with the people's Elbow though. And the story of last nights was a bit better and the stip was used quite well.
ReplyDeleteI thought they were both kinda whatever.
ReplyDeleteAnything else you would like me to eloquently critique?
YOU'RE KIDDING
ReplyDeleteI feel like they're moving toward Punk putting Cena over to strengthen him (don't ask me why) for the Rock
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, we know what the main event for the show next will be? That makes a little much sense for this company...
ReplyDeleteObama's drone policy?
ReplyDeleteIf punk loses next week, either they are stalling for taker to return, or they've just used up 2 weeks of build up. I really hope they make it a triple threat.
ReplyDeleteOh, oh, oh-- do the Wrestlemania 12 IronMan Match next!
ReplyDeleteWell, DUH
ReplyDeleteShit's fucked.
ReplyDeleteAll long and shit lawl
ReplyDeleteEloquent AND informative!
ReplyDeleteNumber of times The Shield was mentioned in John Cena's opening promo: 0
ReplyDeleteI just think they aren't a match in the ring, just a clash of styles that simply doesn't do much for me. The promo battles are decent though, so there's that....
ReplyDeleteI don't really care about Raw tonight so I was gonna just be all on the live thread for the first time ever but then I thought: What if Undertaker shows up? I don't want my surprise ruined by all you lucky people who see Raw first. Yes, the sole reason I'm watching Raw tonight is to see if Undertaker returns. Well and to see what Punk, Brock, and Shield get into as well. See you guys on the flipside.
ReplyDeleteMY SOURCES TELL ME THAT A BIG SCARY ANGRY BLACK MAN IS COMING! WE ARE AT DEF CON WIG SPLIT!
ReplyDeleteIS BORK HERE FOR TONIGHT?
ReplyDeleteNo i prefered the one last night, Had a better ending sequence, while the rumble one was better in the middle but had a terrible ending.
ReplyDeleteThey are looking for ways to cover Rocks absence the next 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteNot even by Punk -- that's truly lazy writing by creative.
ReplyDeletewrong Cena beat Ryder in a Raw match last year. If Cena won (which he did) he would be #1 contender to the title, if Ryder won he was #1 contender to the US title. The honorable John Cena gave up his title shot so Ryder could go on and beat Dolph Ziggler at TLC
ReplyDeleteTaker better be coming back next week
ReplyDeleteBig Show
ReplyDeleteAt least they are consistent....
ReplyDeleteTaker vs Santino is the play here.
ReplyDeleteI didn't really care of either, honestly. Not bad matches, but not PPV main event quality either.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to RAW!!
ReplyDeleteHere is the main event for....NEXT WEEK!!
(please dont turn the channel)
Cena will beat Punk next week, after the match, Punk snaps. Tries to take out Cena, GONG!
ReplyDeletethis was of course when Ryder had heat. lol
ReplyDeleteSo who get's to kill Miz this week? Henry, right?
ReplyDeleteGive this man a blog, website, or news journal
ReplyDeleteAlthough that makes me think The Shield run in and win the match for Punk next week.
ReplyDeleteI FIND MYSELF MORE AND MORE LISTENING TO THE ADVICE OF MY DOG
ReplyDelete
