Would be cool if WWE took a Japanese wrestler seriously for once.
ReplyDeleteAdded the xbox one app last night and it seems to be working pretty well without any hiccups.
ReplyDeleteSo...KENTA.
ReplyDeletethe first Japenese star in American wrestling In decades...or the next Yoshi Tatsu?
They kind of took Tajiri seriously, or at least gave him a legit push.
ReplyDeleteWhat's Japanese for Buckwheat Taylor?
ReplyDeleteTajiri?
ReplyDeleteSome are speculating KENTA goes to New Japan but he didn't have to completely drop his Noah contract to do that.
ReplyDeleteHe debuts in a silly gimmick, finishes with the GTS, crowd boos him out of the building and chants CM Punk for 46 minutes afterwards, and then he's never seen again.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear. Going to load that up as soon as I get home later.
ReplyDeleteKenzo Suzuki for a few months.
ReplyDeleteWell, he was so terrible they were practically forced to turn him into a joke. Hell, his whole character in All Japan is that of a terrible wrestler who the crowd cheers because they know he's terrible but still tries.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say they gave him a huge legit push, they just let him be Tajiri. Which for a Japanese wrestler in WWE is a pretty major victory.
ReplyDeleteHe was awful. The only reason he got a chance was because he was big.
ReplyDeleteHe also had a good character and some charisma to be fair. It's another reason he got over in All Japan.
ReplyDeleteHe was pretty funny but nowhere near talented enough to be a main event guy
ReplyDeleteMaybe, I honestly forget about him sometimes.
ReplyDeleteHow high did he get in wwe? (ECW doesn't count, then ROH counts and there have been several)
Tajiri was awesome. He showed so much charisma without speaking English, and he backed it up with great matches.
ReplyDeleteI cringe every time he kicks someone
ReplyDeleteYeah tajirir was a pretty big star. Same with ultimo dragon
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that a guy like Misawa never took a shot at a north american run at the end of his career. Same with the big acts in NJPW now. Who's the most successful Japanese cross over? Ultimo dragon? Tajiri was a top 5 guy in ECW and a legit midcard act in wwe. Lol chono? Hakushi was kind of a flop and that tag match vs rvd and sabu in ECW was awful.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it have to be Muta, given his successes with Crockett and his multiple runs with WCW?
ReplyDeleteGood call
ReplyDeleteLegit over midcard act in an era where that mattered
ReplyDeletei loved when KENTA kobayashi ate all those hot dogs
ReplyDeleteLord Tensai, obviously.
ReplyDeleteFuck I forgot all about him. Pinned cena, drew tons of money, danced up a storm.
ReplyDeleteYokozuna.
ReplyDeleteYou know Steen was jealoua
ReplyDeleteSo on the rating...
ReplyDeleteIt's a good rating-- an increase from last week, and higher than the same exact week a year ago by over 400,000 viewers. http://prowrestling.net/article.php?WWE-Raw-Rating-Final-numbers-for-the-April-28-edition-36883
Does this—combined with the ratings WWE has been getting since the Mania buildup COMBINED with the strong US buyrate plus Network number for Mania—finally let WWE breath easier that Bryan-as-centerpiece and pushing new guys on top is the way to go?
I'm still waiting for that Lord Tensai vs Sakamoto grudge match.
ReplyDeleteI'd go with Muta too, but Liger had a couple of good runs and Taka, while not the same level star as the others, had a run with WWF that would likely have made him pretty well known.
ReplyDeleteNo. They'll look at it as the network being the draw for mania. Plus Bryan really hasn't done anything of substance the past 2 weeks. The shows have been built around Shield/Evolution.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched this week's Raw yet so I could be off on this week's show, but the previous 2 weeks he was an after thought due to all the personal stuff
Depends on how much he hung out with RVD and Sabu.
ReplyDeleteIn what way is Bryan the centerpiece?
ReplyDeleteThat Tajirir/Regal program is one of the forgotten classics.
ReplyDeleteHe's the champ, and his segments have been the highest rated quarters pretty much every week since the Mania build started.
ReplyDeleteHe was 100% the centerpiece in the build to Mania, same with the night after Mania show.
Took the following Raw off for something pre-planned.
Following week he opened the show and they got him out of there right away due to injury angle/ real life circumstances.
And this past Monday he was in 3 straight commercial breaks.
So yeah, those are some ways.
Its always been on the Xbox360
ReplyDeleteSo according to Impact spoilers, MVP turned heel on Eric Young and gave himself a title shot at whatever their next show is, and is now working with Dixie's group. Remember that this is TOTALLY not copying WWE because Dixie thought of it first!
ReplyDeleteCan someone please kill this company?
So the babyface who came in to overthrow the heel authority figure has just turned heel and is now part of the heel authority group?
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHHA.
Why does this company think that anything they're doing will actually make people want to watch?
Bob Hoskins died, that sucks. Who Framed Roger Rabbit was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Even as an adult it's a fun movie to watch. Super Mario Brothers....not so much.
ReplyDeleteI was reading the spoilers this morning and scratching my head at the (lack of) logic. Unless MVP is turning hell and they're trying to turn Dixie face because... um... HEY LOOK OVER THERE!
ReplyDeleteI know Impact is kind of in a rebuilding phase right now, but I don't understand why that has to mean nonsensical booking while they try and copy the WWE.
Wow 3 game 7's in the NHL tonight
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying that they're gonna throw Bryan a parade and decide to give him a 2-year title reign, but I do think all these numbers are overall encouraging. The goat-faced B+ player was the #1 babyface for 2 of the Mania main events, and the event did well. Ratings are not just holding steady, but are actually up (both pre and post mania) from where they were at the same time last year. Are they calling Bryan the new Austin? Probably not. But the sky isn't falling, and in fact the sky is looking pretty good.
ReplyDeleteSo I'd say it's a win for Bryan. (Especially since his segments have done well in particular, and since the rating last week actually decreased after they did the Bryan injury angle and it was clear he wouldn't be on the rest of the show.)
And it's a win so far for The Shield, who obviously have become huge deals on TV the last month, and Cesaro/Wyatts etc that they're being pushed as big deals and business seems to be doing just fine.
Is current TNA the worst any wrestling promotion on TV has ever been in history? The only other contender I can think of is early weekly ppv TNA.
ReplyDeleteBut, BUT... He is not wrestling the tippy top guy in his first PPV title defense!! BERRIED!!! [/internet]
ReplyDeleteYes, but he hasn't been on Raw very often post-Mania to deal with personal issues. More BURIAL!
ReplyDeleteI've really been enjoying the Bryan-centric WWE lately (despite not watching this week - decision had more to do with the gf wanting to watch other things than a lack of interest) and I think Extreme Rules on Sunday will be a good show, regardless of who closes things out.
LA has the potential to come back from 3-0 game deficit tonight.
ReplyDeleteIt's only happened 3 times in hockey, and 4 times in all of sport before
Bryan will be fine but he's dropping the belt at summerslam so enjoy the next 4 months, it may be the longest run he ever gets.
ReplyDeleteWas Hawaiian
ReplyDeleteI would hope to hell they don't close the show with a kane match. These guys wrestled two years ago and it wasn't very good. I can't imagine this will be any better. They don't want to close a ppv with Kane plodding through a match Bryan will kill himself to get that match to **.
ReplyDeleteThat would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteRealistically, who does he drop it to?
ReplyDeleteLesnar is part time and probably shouldn't get the belt.
Batista just can't bring it anymore and would look ridiculous getting winded early in matches but still winning.
Orton? Been there, done that last year.
Cena? Meh, they've been fine with him shoring up the undercard.
They either need to build someone up fast or tank the main event scene to take the strap off Bryan.
No I'm pretty sure he was a big sumo champion in Japan that Mr Fuji recruited to come wrestle in the WWF.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, I forgot all of that horrible shit.
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt a garbage match with Kane going up against Daniel Bryan will easily hit three snowflakes. The gimmick alone should do well to hide Kane's shortcomings.
ReplyDeleteProbably Brock, maybe big Dave, could be cena, we'll have to wait and see!
ReplyDeleteNow I can say something like "See: Chris Benoit, 2004."
ReplyDeleteI don't think Orton was being touted as a main eventer, yet, back then.
Dude Kane has almost never had any good matches ever, and there match at summerslam was barely watchable. It will suck balls.
ReplyDeleteYup. And in terms of other opponents for Extreme Rules, who would people have been satisfied with???
ReplyDeleteEveryone gonna say Cesaro? Cesaro is off the board. Yeah it would have been a great match, but Cesaro is JUST getting his big push now, and now way they should have hotshotted a Bryan/Cesaro main event feud so soon. Cesaro isn't built to that level yet.
So that leaves what main eventers higher than Kane? HHH/Orton/Batista. And I guarantee you the same people complaining "Kane is a burial" would have complained "Orton is a lame rematch BURIAL" or "HHH won't go away BURIAL" or "Batista will be an awful match BURIAL".
And guess what? I'd bet the next 3 months (June has TWO PPVs) focus on Bryan defending the title against Orton and Batista anyway. But you know, that one title defense against Kane is gonna absolutely kill his run.
Rangers, Avalanche, Sharks all win at home tonight.
ReplyDeleteSo we can openly talk about spoilers in here now? Please stop with them. Some people don't want to read the spoilers.
ReplyDeleteAWA was bad in its later stages, UWF was awful, heck even early ECW was really bad.
ReplyDeleteI really don't remember Benoit getting the same extended reactions that Bryan is getting now. Why not ride it out longer?
ReplyDeleteBut not Orton?
ReplyDeletein my eyes during my time it is Muta, Liger, Tajiri.
ReplyDeleteTNA is also talking about bringing in new talent. I wonder if KENTA would consider going there and work with WRESTLE-1 as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's odd how much more it happens in hockey, relative to other sports.
ReplyDeleteIf nothing else I like this avatar better than your Charles Manson one!
ReplyDeleteKENTA is going to get called in Vince's office. Vince puts a sheet of paper in front of him..
ReplyDelete[ ] Face paint
[ ] Spray mist
[ ] Ninja
"Pick two."
Seriously? June has 2 "special events"?
ReplyDeleteI had thoughts of doing a full on believe everything official from wrestling gimmick. Then I rememberd that gimmick posters were stupid and didnt. But this post made me laugh in the same vein.
ReplyDeleteThe brand name is so damaged at this point that it'll likely never recovered.
ReplyDeleteSorry
ReplyDeleteLol.
ReplyDeleteI don't at all remember the match from 2 years ago. But it was a normal match, right? Gimmick matches are a lot easier to hide weaknesses.
ReplyDeleteRematch with Orton. Also I haven't seen anyone say Bryan is being buried since the occupy raw thing. You guys are debating an argument that has been dead for two months. Kane sucks. He's one of the worst wrestlers in wwe history. I'd rather see Bryan wrestle anyone else but the show is free to watch basically so I don't really care that much more. The go home segments were awful but I've beaten tnsy dead horse enough.
ReplyDeleteWhere does he go next? I'd let him get his win back from Wyatt I guess.
Have you ever seen Kane have a good singles gimmick match?
ReplyDeleteTeam Challenge Series for the win!
ReplyDelete[ ] Japanese character tattoos . . . . . lots of them
ReplyDeleteI think two things factor in:
ReplyDeleteGoalie catching fire
Home ice not as important as home advantage seems to be in other sports (outside of Montreal, where refs call all the dives and flops ;))
I don't disagree with anything you just wrote. Im just not sure how wwe sees it at this point. Despite everything they've done with Bryan, I'm still not 100% convinced they view him as "the guy".
ReplyDeleteOnly time will tell.
No prob, I read them last night, but there are others that don't like reading them.
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't get that. Must be a goaltending thing? Like they get hot?
ReplyDeletePlus, its the Sharks, who always turn into the Sharts like clockwork come playoff time
ReplyDelete4 months would be longer than any run Austin or Rock ever had too.
ReplyDeleteI think Bryan losing the title at Summerslam all depends on when they wanna put the title on Brock, because Brock dropping the title to Roman (or mayyyybe Cesaro) at Mania 31 feels like a likely bet.
So there's a few options: Brock wins the title at Summerslam and keeps it til Mania, which seems difficult to pull off.
The other is Brock has a non-title special attraction match at Summerslam, and then wins the title closer to Mania. Say at the Rumble.
In that second scenario, I could see Bryan then holding the belt past Summerslam.
Either way, yeah I'll enjoy the next 4 months. Or 4 weeks, or 4 days or whatever. I like that Bryan is champ, and that the Shield is getting a main event push, and a lot of what they're doing right now. There's lots of shit mixed in, but lots of really good stuff too. I'm not too worried if Bryan doesn't get a John Cena year long run, ya know? It can still be a good product.
Really? Fuck, that sucks. RIP, great actor.
ReplyDeleteI'd say early ECW was better. Late awa sounds really bad though
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that we have vastly different definitions of "good." As long as I'm entertained, I could give a shit about work rate. Putting Kane in a garbage brawl grudge match with someone like Daniel Bryan should give a perfectly acceptable match. As long as Kane doesn't break Bryan's neck, I'll be fine with the result.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I mean I'm sure they view Roman as the (next) GUY. Which is fair. If they don't fuck it up, he absolutely can be the guy.
ReplyDeleteBut Bryan has a chance to cement himself as a success and a main event fixture with this run, so hopefully the numbers and such continue to support that.
The worst are these Eric young interviews where he happily compares himself to Bryan. Just such a lack of self awareness.
ReplyDeleteOrient Express theme is awesome thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteDon't get your hopes up. The match won't be good.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think Orton gets that belt again. He got his big push this year and was once again a giant bust. They had to completely re-work the Mania card because he was such a heatless entity as champ.
ReplyDeleteOrton's not going anywhere, but I can't imagine he ever gets a chance again as the centerpiece guy. Midcarder, challenger for the title at a Payback-level PPV, sure. He'll be Del Rio plus, I'd say.
If you said four star matches you would have an argument but Kane has plenty of three star matches.
ReplyDeleteOK, well, regardless of whether I enjoy the match on Sunday, I'm sure you'll hate it and feel justified that your prediction was on the mark. Whatever gets you off, dude.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Payback and they're doing MITB in June. July is Battleground.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I can't believe they kept the Batteground name. So much stink associated with it from how bad the first one was.
I'm prefectly willing to forgive this one, because that would have pushed me solidly into the "DIE TNA DIE" camp.
ReplyDeleteInstead, I can skip Impact for the near future, and wait until this shitstorm passes.
No chance Bryan drops the belt before summerslam. He'll get a nice 5 month run. Maybe they'd do a Kane/Austin thing to pop a rating but either way he's gonna have a nice run. Plus he's made as main event guy with or without the belt now.
ReplyDelete1 for 3 isn't bad... (Late AWA is at least as bad, if not WORSE, than late WCW.)
ReplyDeleteNah orton will absolutely get the belt again at some point. His work beloved by guys in the business. I'm with you but they see something in him we don't.
ReplyDeleteLikewise. They just look so, OUCH. I'm the same way with KENTA
ReplyDeleteMan, I'm glad I'm only paying $10 a month for this these days.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, my parents were good to me and let me order a PPV whenever they were on, right through to IYH: Canadian Stampede (I went to SummerSlam 97 live, then went off to college). I can't imagine having the coin to watch every PPV these days.
I assume they'll have Bryan and Kane on as main event, since the heels will be going over on the other matches.
ReplyDeleteRealistically, i think they'll have Brock beat Bryan for the title.
How do they not blow that off. Smh...talk about leaving money on the table
ReplyDeleteSo is the green/yellow/red mist.
ReplyDeleteIf I wasn't a Sharks fan, I'd bet you a fair chunk of change (Something like 6 months of WWE Network) on that result.
ReplyDeleteInstead, I'll either be relieved or sad by tomorrow morning.
Lol you really told me
ReplyDeleteAvalanche better fucking win...
ReplyDeleteI bet Orton is coming up next. My guess is Evolution beats the Shield via DRUNK FLAIR (which hopefully leads to a spot where Ambrose does his "wrestling drunk" stuff while beating on an actually drunk Ric), and then Orton cashes in his rematch clause for Payback.
ReplyDeleteBryan's probably defending against Orton and Batista the next few months.
Wyatt vs Bryan would be awesome for Summerslam, if they go a different way for Brock that night. (Rematch with Cena?)
Listen, overall I agree that Kane isn't the optimal opponent, but it serves a clear booking function. Bryan gets a win over a credible veteran heel (and yeah, the fanbase still finds him credible, especially with THE MASK) while Evolution takes on Shield, and Bray (probably) gets a win against Cena. Booking-wise you come out of Extreme Rules with Bryan having defended the title, keeping his feud with Stephanie/HHH alive, and some heels get wins. Sometimes you just have to book a functional event to build for the bigger things.
List em
ReplyDeleteTajiri only had one...
ReplyDelete;)
I honestly think that is a pretty original twist. We have never had an angle where an evil owner went after a face challenger before, this could have some serious potential
ReplyDeleteYup. After this run, Bryan's now in that group of guys who will be in the top-of-the-card Mania matches for the next 3-5 years. It's pretty insane that ended up happening. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteAnd only twice in the last 40 years or so. Sawx the year the won the WS for the first time since the Babe, and the Leafs a year or 2 ago.
ReplyDeleteSurprised it's never happened in the NBA.
Isn't Batista leaving for a little bit? Evolution might job to the shield.
ReplyDeleteHe was kind of a ninja.
ReplyDeleteThe Flyers did it to the Bruins, didn't they?
ReplyDeleteI have no comments on anything mentioned above. I do want to comment on our sheriff urging lawmakers to bring back chain gangs. The fuck kind of town am I living in??
ReplyDeleteBack in the early 70s I think, definitely not recently.
ReplyDeleteReigns pins Batista!
ReplyDeleteCena should move there.
ReplyDeleteHappened in 2010
ReplyDeletehttp://www.pensburgh.com/2013/6/7/4404634/pittsburgh-penguins-comeback-chances-boston-bruins-sidney-crosby
Huh, no shit...
ReplyDeleteI'd say they are.
ReplyDeleteHell, any wrestling promotion through history in it's worst dying days had at least a REPUTATION or history that made it feel relevant, no matter how bad the current product was. AWA, end of world class, whatever.
TNA is not just god awful now, but they've been almost exclusively shit for over ten years. There's no history, no goodwill. There's nothing redeeming about it at all.
Yeah they were talking about it on local radio here yesterday discussing how Claude Julian is so ensconced as coach (especially since they won the cup a year later) even at that point to have survived blowing that series. They were up 3-0 at home in Game 7 too.
ReplyDeleteI would say home ice is more important in hockey, the away team has to pick the players they want to put out, then the home gets last choice to pick the line they want to put up against them.
ReplyDeleteWait is this Steve Ferrari? Lol wtf I totally thought this was someone else or a new poster. Fucking name changes are too hard for me to follow
ReplyDeleteYeah that is a good point. I feel like talking heads always say home ice never seems to matter, maybe that is based on road winning percentages?
ReplyDeleteI would say baseball home field is most important.
Baseball definitely is where home field matters the most. Getting to bat last is huge.
ReplyDeleteA few times have come back from 3-0 to 3-3 but have never closed the deal.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they definitely over value him, but I think the one-champion thing (for as long as that sticks around) really lessens the chance Orton ever wins it again. Maybe he does, maybe as a quick transitional run, but I can't ever see him getting the type of push he just got ever again. He was such a huge failure on top.
ReplyDeleteWord Life!
ReplyDeleteLike guys working on the road like in cool hand Luke?
ReplyDeleteTNA had multiple ***+ matches at Sacrifice with two of them near four stars. WCW in 2000-2001 struggled to get any matches near four stars. That's not the sign of a bad promotion. A lot of people read spoilers instead of watching the show before they form an opinion.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I changed my screen name last week. I would have changed my avatar, too, but I figured that would be too much at once.
ReplyDeleteI thought hhh would pin reigns, and then the shield triple bombs Batista through a table to get him off tv.
ReplyDeleteHe will be missed.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago SI did a study where they discovered that while the players aren't affected by home/away (travel issues aside, a west coast team playing a day game in NY is obviously at a disadvantage because they're not used to playing a game at 10:05 AM), but refs are. A lot. That basically accounts for the entire home field/ice/court advantage in it's entirety. Doesn't matter what sport, they not only looked at the "big 4", but NCAA games, various top-tier soccer leagues, and even Arena Football.
ReplyDeleteI have no problems with spoilers, I even embrace them.
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot about that, probably because I hate both teams.
ReplyDeleteWhere the fuck do you live?
ReplyDeleteDaniels and AJ had history.
ReplyDeleteDid the crowd give half a shit about anything on that show? Heatless spotfests don't make a decent promotion. Storm and Gunner were geeking eachother in a vacuum, basically.
ReplyDeleteThe promotion is completely in the death throes right now. ERIC YOUNG is doing a Daniel Bryan tribute act as their champ. It's terrible.
Oddly enough, I was listening to "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac about 20 minutes ago.
ReplyDeleteIts mind boggling to me how bad they are. Even stuff that kind of gets over around here like rock star spud is just beyond me. I've seen impact twice this year and I both times I couldn't believe what I was watching. I can't believe they get any kind of rating although I read last week they had two quarter hour ratings of .69
ReplyDeleteAnd the Dixie carter as lead character is just baffling.
Over the years I've liked bad influence, roode and Aries during the short time it looked like the promotion was going to be built around them, and the knock outs. So they fire kaz and Daniels, scrap roode and aries for aces and .08's and gut the knockouts.
Hoooooogannnnnn!
ReplyDelete2000-ish WCW was worse.
ReplyDeleteTJ: Had a question I hope someone would answer....
ReplyDeleteWhy did Hulk Hogan get Jimmy Hart as a manager in 1993? I know about the whole Jimmy Hart siding with The Mega Maniacs after Money Inc went too far on Brutus Beefcake. But why give Hart to Hogan? mean Hogan never really needed a manager as he could talk and sell the match in promos, but it seems so odd that The Mouth of the South would be Hulkster's manager before he leaves in June 1993.
Random: I always thought it would be cool if the guy doing the mist sold it too, like he grabs some water to rinse his mouth out as soon as the match is over. I theory, if it blinds someone it shouldn't feel too good in your mouth.
ReplyDeleteYes, he quite literally did dance up a storm.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Hart legit Hogan's business manager at the time? I think they wanted to work together and decided to pull the switch on TV to give the story some more gravitas.
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there....
ReplyDeleteJudging matches just by the crowd is kind of lame. If that were the case, you must think 90% of Puro matches are awful because the crowd is quiet during them.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, their slightly updated version of the Orient Express theme music.
If the company were dying, they wouldn't be re-signing guys AND bringing in new talent. You can hate TNA as much as you want, but they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteThey were real life friends and road buddies so hogan just bought him in the fold. Plus, arguably, jimmy saying money inc went too far got the angle more heat.
ReplyDeleteThey took Yoshi seriously when he was in ECW.
ReplyDeleteToo bad they never drew a dime. I blame aj styles more than Daniels.
ReplyDeleteObviously WWE didn't take the hint to just drop Flair after Monday.
ReplyDeleteI got confused by it. Didn't you have a different avatar at some point too?
ReplyDeleteI think it more means that the way they figure out ratings in 2014 is inaccurate.
ReplyDeleteI blame TNA. Has anyone ever been a draw for them? No matter what they do they've been pulling the same .9-1.1 rating forever.
ReplyDeleteComments on the Thunder possibly flaming out in the first round?
ReplyDeleteThey had their chance with Joe, but of course they ruined that one as well.
ReplyDeleteStill can't believe that group is around.
ReplyDeleteI know he's just playing a character on TV but could you imagine letting Jimmy Hart take care of your money?
ReplyDelete"one of the worst wrestlers in wwe history"
ReplyDeleteHyperbole much?
I blame it on marketing, I really do. There's no excuse for not having any rating increase or decrease in ten years. Hopefully this new signing with the talent agency that will control their marketing now will do them good.
ReplyDeleteJimmy currently drives a pretty bad ass i8 bmw
ReplyDeleteI could still see them winning. Unfortunately thanks to all this bullshit splash city is done. I was so fucking angry last night. I'll sports hate Paul and griffin forever and mark Jackson probably needs to go. They shouldn't have been a fuckimg six seed this year. We need some kind of center too. I don't know if we can pry chandler off the Knicks but that's the type we need. Bogut can't play the schedule and while O Neal still has value as a back up we need more.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.sbnation.com/2011/1/19/1940438/home-field-advantage-sports-stats-data
ReplyDeleteNo, I've been using that photo of me for a while now.
ReplyDeleteGS and Phx were my league pass teams this year and I honestly think GSs talent is slightly overrated. Stephs a star...Klay, Barnes, Bogut, and Iggy are all real nice pieces but it's not a championship roster. Think they're still a move away from being a legit contender
ReplyDeletedata shows NBA teams get biggest boost.
ReplyDeleteIf I let Jimmy Hart take care of my money (if I had any), I would start buying stock in megaphones and airbrushed jackets.
ReplyDeleteINDEED!
ReplyDeleteSamoan, you big racist.
ReplyDeleteI think think the play is to package Barnes or Klay with a big contract they have and try to get a veteran impact player. Not really sure who that is tho.
ReplyDeleteAll you need is one hot goalie or one goalie to get leaky to swing a series. Plus you could have a series with a corsi pdo imbalance and everything goes back to the mean?
ReplyDeleteIt's still insane that this is the 4th 3-0 forced to a Game 7 since 2010.
Brooks is gone and maybe they make big trade involving Westbrook
ReplyDeleteWow, remember when they originally called him Horihito and wanted to feud him with World Champion Chris Benoit?
ReplyDeleteLeafs did it to the Wings in the 40s, then it happened in the 70s (Isles v. Pitt) and Boston v. Philly from 2010
ReplyDeleteThe fucking plug in hybrid with the suicide doors? That's fucking nasty
ReplyDeleteWestbrooks not the best fit with Durant but I don't see them getting back equal value for him in a deal. It's a tough spot bc he can walk in a year so you might have to take lesser value if you're getting back assets.
ReplyDelete12 teams have forced the Game 7, eight teams have lost. The Isles did it twice in 1975 alone.
ReplyDeleteForcing the Game 7 in the NBA has happened twice, once in MLB (Sox v. Yanks) and the rest in hockey.
That steal by Westbrook to force overtime was so crazy. They'd be stupid to dump him but they need a coach who can handle him.
ReplyDeleteSC continues to make us proud
ReplyDeleteDevin and I both live in SC (in different parts)
ReplyDeleteLee and klay Thompson for Westbrook and Perkins?
ReplyDeleteI can't see Russ and Steph being that compatible to together.
ReplyDeleteA hot goalie isn't a better goalie
ReplyDeletehttp://fivethirtyeight.com/features/a-hot-goalie-isnt-a-better-goalie/
Why the fuck doesn't Jackson just let them run and gun? It's almost like he prefers a slow down half court game at times? Think that's an issue also.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting trade.
ReplyDeleteI think Westbrook, Sefolosha and a 1st for Parsons, Asik, and Becerly could work too
oh and refs have a large factor on home field advantage.
