Keeping with current theme of content in the network, is there a specific reason they aren't showing all WWE released DVDs. Obviously not the newer ones they want us to buy, but what about all the DVDs from the 90s and 00s. The Michaels set, Austin sets (all the stuff on netflix). And how about the coliseum video "Best of the WWF volumes 1-20"? Just seems like aside from the ppvs, they are light on old content.
No kidding. It wouldn't even bother me so much if they did the World Class stuff in order at least, but they bounce around seemingly at random. As others have noted, given their library it would take upwards of TEN YEARS to add everything, so why not start dumping it on there?
Do they want to, though? That's the question. There's no doubt they can afford it but I'm not so sure they want to fork over even more cash.
ReplyDeleteThreadjack: No Holds Barred has been uploaded to Netflix. Enjoy the badness of Hogan and EVERYTHING in that movie. Also, i never noticed that Ax plays the wrestler in the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI think they need to be putting more up of what they are putting up like the RAWs and WCCW eps but beyond that...they should have a schedule. IT could be a tentative schedule but I think there would be more patients if we saw..Clash in Jully SNME in Aug.. and so on.
ReplyDeletewell hes got that new confidence with DDP yoga, so naturally hes testing the waters.
ReplyDeleteNormally, I would agree with that statement if it was in reference to other dudes...but there's something about Bryan that's different. Fans love him too much for him to go by the wayside.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm watching all of the WCCW stuff and pining for more, I wonder if the gaps are because of tape quality. I can see the master tapes being left in a warehouse to bake in the Dallas heat based on how awesome record keeping was in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder if this is the first time someone in WWE is going through the tape vault and actually seeing what has held up over the years.
nothing screams romance like digging through used clothes. he shoulda ordered a handsome cab to escort them there.
ReplyDeleteI like how Randy is still so unstable and unpredictable that he says "FUCK YOU, NECKTIES!" and comes out Business Casual. Batista always looked better in a suit. His casual wear upon his return just looked odd for a man in his mid 40s. I think a unified look, especially going against The Shield, is a positive. It would look silly with Randy in a t-shirt/trunks combo, Triple H in his COO suit, and Batista in a track suit. They are EVOLUTION, not Triple H + 2.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you say that Bryan WASN'T winning the title at 30?
ReplyDeleteI'm in the midwest, and honestly I've seen more Punk and Bryan shirts than Cena shirts. Hell, I used to work in a mall, where they MAKE Midwest bumble fucks, and saw more kids in Punk and Bryan shirts than Cena shirts.
ReplyDeleteGIVE ME PRIME TIME!
ReplyDeleteNah, while we know he prefers them young, I'm sure he has limits. 11, maybe?
ReplyDeleteI see them only doing massive releases at the 6-month renewal marks, which is fine with me.
ReplyDeleteCan we assume the Shield goes over at ER, probably with Reigns pinning Orton, then Evolution slaughtering the Shield affterward with HHH pedigree-ing all three of them?
ReplyDeleteTOO not soon enough.
ReplyDeleteI think WWE knows its hardcore fans all too well: they'll stick around for the mere promise of better things to come even as they complain about the present. It's not an effective tactic 100% of the time, but it's close.
ReplyDeleteThe slow release of material might also have something to do with pirating. For example, WWE puts all the RAWs from 1993-97 up at once and then the next day some dude on Ebay is selling sets for $100 a pop. Obviously you can't completely stop that kind of behavior, but you can slow it down.
afaik they started transfering those tapes into digital format several years ago so it seems unlikely they have just started to go through their vault.
ReplyDeleteKane eviserating Bryan was awesome even if Bryan's first title defense is in the midcard against a midcarder like Kane.
ReplyDeleteI just find it humorous that Bryan overcomes Evolution at Mania and wins the title via tap out in a triple threat match and then moves on to face Kane in the midcard while Evolution takes center stage on the Raws and ppvs. It's like 2004 all over again only without HBK.
If the content was overwhelming it'd be "better for business".
ReplyDeleteThey own EVERYTHING, they'll never run out of content to add. AWA, Mid-South, and NWA all have enough content to host their own networks. And that's not even mentioning ECW, SMW, WCW, and all the smaller promotions they scooped up. Then you add in the countless hours of their own material as well. Their isn't enough hours in our lives combine to watch it all.
We're not asking for everything, just something more than the 4 episodes of RAW they add per week. I can't even watch the ECW or WCCW stuff yet because you never know if they'll add a show that's been skipped.
No wonder cable companies didn't want to jump on board, they obviously don't have a plan for content.
ReplyDeletethere is no such thing as ONE renewal mark. I am pretty sure many people signed up just a few days before WrestleMania. so their six month period would end two months after the one of those who signed up immediatly.
ReplyDeleteHe may have more confidence but he's no Caliber Winfield
ReplyDeleteI don't get the second paragraph: would those people not be able to put stuff up on ebay regardless of the speed (if all 1997 Raw episodes are online at the end of 2014, people will put them up then).
ReplyDeleteEbay doesn't allow that anymore and the WWE has been hitting Youtube pretty hard lately getting content removed. But yes, they can't stop torrents from happening. I think most people download wrestling because it's not available and they want the nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteI knew a couple of girls who thought that going to Salvation Army was a good time. Probably not while some dude is wooing them, but hey, you never know.
ReplyDeleteAt a strip club you mean.
ReplyDeleteIf you're still reviewing shoot interviews 5 years from now, I think it would be interesting to see how many guys bash Punk.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I said you can't stop people from do it, but you don't have to make it easy for them. If you only put up a few shows at a time AND out of order, it makes things more difficult for those pimping "complete seasons" DVDs on Ebay or torrents.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little concerned they may have no intention of putting other promotions on the network. If this is just a tool to create their own reality based programming, I'm out. Why not just put a folder up for all the promotions and add ONE episode per week? It would still take decades to add it all.
ReplyDeleteI just remember Vince's quote in one of the documentaries (either wrestling with shadows or beyond the mat) and it's worried me ever since. "Our goal with all of this, is to one day make movies."
What did Pat do to Piper??!?!?
ReplyDeleteYES!
ReplyDeleteIt's possible that you're being misunderstood.
ReplyDeleteIt's also possible that what you say is just kinda stupid.
Have you ever heard of Occam's razor?
I know, it's just such a random thing to even bring up.
ReplyDelete"If there's grass on the field...play ball"
ReplyDeleteHow Lawler determines age of consent
I tried to explain it to him, but he's very set in his ways. Glad to see I'm not the only one that saw the incredible flaw in his comment. *high five*
ReplyDeleteI have that game. The AI is a fucking joke.
ReplyDeleteThey could put up a hundred hours of video a week for years.
ReplyDeleteI would be fine if they added shows regularly on a weekly basis. Like, say, Mondays at 2:00, start "airing" the episodes of Prime Time Wrestling in order, then each episode appears in the archive. Air Raw and Nitro from a particular week on Thursday nights. Add SNME in order on Saturday nights. It would be great promotion. "Vintage episodes of X added every Wednesday", etc.
ReplyDeleteI don't expect them to add everything as fast as they can, and don't need all of the content available to me at once. But I would like to see the vintage stuff added on some sort of schedule - even if it's weeknights at 4:00am.
"Wrestling fans unsatisfied after initial hype and excitement...film at 11!!"
ReplyDeleteBut no seriously, I'm very pleased with the Network. The amount of stuff on there right now is overwhelming, I haven't even scratched the surface of PPVs to watch, and have only made it through a few of the 1993 RAWs. Realistically, how would you find the time to really watch and enjoy even more than what is currently available? I'm cool with the slow roll out.
I think it will go up eventually, I'm guessing there will be a bug dump in july or something to keep people on the hook, I'm surprised there hasn't been a bigger post Mania dump but then again maybe they were busy with Warrior stuff and we will get more very soon. Why would Vince buy all these libraries not to use it. Plus once they have advertisements a single view will make them some money off stuff sitting in a vault.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to figure out what kind of strip club plays wrestling PPVs and let's mentally challenged adults in there to watch it.
ReplyDeleteThose strippers must have been thrilled that Sunday. No dollar bills for them.
Roddy seems really cut up about Pat banging him
ReplyDeleteLots of bars in Florida get WWE ppvs...Winghouse, Hooters, etc.
ReplyDeleteCan mentally challenged people not enjoy twat and wrestling like the rest of us? Bigot!
24/7 > the network
ReplyDeleteI know for a fact Clashes and SNME are prepped and coming. No idea when.
ReplyDeleteI think they've painted themselves into a corner by announcing Cena's merch sales.
ReplyDeleteHow will they be able to run a "Cena is forced to do things he doesn't want to do because of financial problems" angle now?
jury's still out. at the risk of sounding trite, it's complicated
ReplyDeleteWonder if Cena selling 5x as much as the #2 is because Cena has seen a big increase recently in his own sales or if, more likely, the sales of the #2 spot have decreased in the last month.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it's the latter, due to Bryan's stuff selling way less than Punk's used to.
And there is your #1 reason why the WWE hasn't been trashing Punk and why Vince still wants him back--- Punk is by far the best merch mover aside from Cena.
Cena cleans up with the kids and moms and heartland folks, but Punk (while also getting lots of sales to the kiddies and mainstream fans too, I'm sure) was the guy who could get just regular dudes to buy wrestling gear in big numbers. They really need to merchandise some Cesaro/Punk/Shield stuff on black hoodies and tees that look relatively cool. (As cool as any pro wrestling merch can possibly look.)
Instead of buying a bad strip mall, he buys a bad regular mall. And then Trips pays off his mortgage and inexplicably owns the mall AND his mansion
ReplyDeleteSounds like you got snapped with a few wet towels yourself there, champ. In my many years of lurking this blog I've seen you post your over sensitive bile and throw around big words to try and sound intellectual. Quit being such a PC douche and holier than thou. You must be a joy to hang out with.
ReplyDeleteI love the irony of Cena "Selling". *rimshot*
ReplyDeleteI should have said the 6 month anniversary marks then. Either way, I only see them releasing new content once every 6 months.
ReplyDeleteIf they added the entire ECW TV show run tomorrow and sent out a press release, how many new signups do you think they would get? Do you think those new signups would make-up for the expenditure in time and money to put it up on the Network so quickly?
ReplyDeleteBars like Hooters and Winghouse I know play PPVs, until the network that's how I enjoyed the shows. But strip clubs? Why take away from the main focus of your establishment?
ReplyDeleteI don't want to watch women dance to the sounds of Cole, JBL, Lawler, and the occasional sounds of grunting and slamming.
So is HHH still Big Show's landlord? They should still play this up. Have Big Show wrestle a match against Batista, with the stipulation that if Show wins then he gets his leaky faucet fixed, but if Batista wins then Big Show isn't allowed to play loud music after 11pm.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with merch is that it's a lagging indicator unless you hit on that one big item (Austin 3:16, nWo plain black T, White BITW Punk shirt). So if they don't make a DB item that everyone wants to buy, his merch numbers aren't going to be that good.
ReplyDeleteNothing like some idle speculation on my part haha. I do wonder if there was any tape damage, I know someone said the Portland tapes were pretty much destroyed.
ReplyDelete"Cena, who was #1 in merchandise, sold five times much as the #2 top seller this past month."
ReplyDeletemaybe the #2 seller would sell more if all of his gimmicks didn't have a post-it note over his face
Totally, the iconic item certainly is HUGE, but if you look at Cena he basically just sells everything. Yellow shirt, blue shirt, purple shirt, that NES shirt--- doesn't matter.
ReplyDeletePunk seemed to be in that boat too. The white Best in the World shirt is probably the biggest seller, but jesus christ they were selling assloads of that ugly yellow GTS shirt.
Somewhere in that match, there is bound to be some wacky misunderstanding.
ReplyDeleteI'm fine with WWE keeping Cena as a face, just as long as they write better stories for him. The times they actually explore this "SuperCena" image (the Punk feud, the Bryan feud, even this Wyatt feud or Kane trying to get him to 'embrace the hate') can get pretty interesting. It's sort of the same logic as why I roll my eyes when comic book fans want DC to make Superman grittier and more "relatable" --- he's not relatable, he's Superman. If you have a character who's well-established as being a great guy and essentially an avatar for goodness, you shouldn't sell that out in the name of a story, but you can certainly explore what makes him good, so to speak.
ReplyDeleteBut that's the point, once Punk had that one item that sold, you could have had the CM Punk Home Pregnancy Test and the rubes would have bought it.
ReplyDeleteWell, they at least tried to put some heat on Kane-Bryan. Even though I can't stand Kane, it was a fairly effective segment in that regard.
ReplyDeleteBarrett-Sheamus was tremendous, I felt. Really good, physical, hard-hitting stuff. And the right guy went over.
Everything else? Eh. I was surprised by the anti-chemistry of RVD and Cesaro.
Yeah.....I thought about that as well. I've gotta say, theres been a FEW (The Condemned, Walking Tall) that were decent, but most have sucked
ReplyDeleteBatista hosts raves at Show's house, so he goes down to a fingerpoke of doom.
ReplyDeleteWe complain that Bryan is entered into a heatless feud against a non-threat like Kane, then we complain that they try to get heat on the match by making Kane look like a threat?
ReplyDeleteAlso, Barrett is clearly winning this tournament because A) he's a hot character and B) they have bigger things planned for Cesaro than the IC belt.
After all these years, we'll finally get our wrestling plumber.
ReplyDeleteI love that movie! One of the most unintentionally (?) hilarious films I've seen.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely one I have to watch at least once a year.
Cena is offered drugs at the rave, but rises above addiction!
ReplyDeleteMy thing is this: how much would it really cost to get maybe 5-10 songs (Stranglehold, Tom Sawyer, Free Bird, We Are Family to name four) to show the original WCCW stuff as it aired?
ReplyDeleteAhhhh gotcha. Yeah that's true.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Bryan "Obey/Che" shirt turns into that for him. It's a big improvement on the goatface merch, but still nowhere near as cool as the white Punk shirt, Austin 3:16, or the original nWo shirt.
A lot of those DVDs are going up under "Beyond the Ring".
ReplyDeleteAlso you have to consider they just gave you EVERY FUCKING PPV EVER more or less, save for classic stuff. I understand that people want World Class (I actually want the World Class Documentary up on there), but considering the bone-crunching amount of content ALREADY on the network that they had to get ready for air with bleeps and blurs and encoding and streaming and stress testing, I have to imagine adding content is a tennuous expierence akin to playing Jenga.
It'll come, and it will be great (like my penis), but it's gonna take some time and patience because it's blood pressure is really high....erm I mean, they already gave away the farm - All WCW and WWE PPVs, and now they're figuring out what to do with the barn and ranch house.
All of the WCW pay-per-views and the ECW pay-per-views are up, the ECW TV and WCCW TV are all being updated. I'm willing to cut them some slack on what's available and what they plan to upload. I'm nowhere near done with watching what's available as is, so I'm not concerned with MORE content coming.
ReplyDeleteI guess it depends on your interests. Having seen the vast majority of the PPVs already and not caring enough about WCCW and ECW, it's not quite wrestling heaven for me. I feel like I'm getting my money's worth, but it's like a restaurant that won't alter its menu and won't make alterations/special orders. You're just kinda stuck with a good thing when it could be a great thing.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like that they promoted four original series, only debuted two (with Wrestlemania Rewind being cool at first, but then just stole DVD footage after the first two episodes), had the third debut just this last week, and we're still waiting on the 4th (The Monday Night War series). And then they brag in all their press releases about their vast library but don't make 98% of that available? That's just strange because it can antagonize or tease the fan base. It's not like releasing more will hurt subscriptions because:
1. Happier customers
2. Customers will not be overly satisfied and cancel their subscription because the specific episodes could be rolled out just as slowly as the other shows up there now.
*and lastly, I'm sick of watching a show from their library, it freezing, and then having to reload it and start from the beginning. It rarely happened the first few weeks. Now, it happens enough to the point where I expect it.
I was agreeing with you up until the parenthetical penis pop-up. Comments like those make me just stop reading. Just FYI.
ReplyDeleteNot sure of the order but last time the numbers were leaked it was Punk Orton Bryan Rey
ReplyDeleteLynch me, lynch me for what I've done to your people!
ReplyDeleteHow great would it be if we found out that Cena was actually buying his own merchandise to boost his numbers.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the same thing. I want to try and like/get along with him... but then he does some dumb shit like that.
ReplyDeleteSaid this in another thread, but it's different strokes - pretty much everything I've watched on the "Network" was talking-head stuff ("Legends of Wrestling", DVD documentaries, Hall of Fame, "Countdown", etc.).
ReplyDeletestupid is as stupid always does.
ReplyDeleteWas just going to say this. This seems very similar to Cena's influence on the Nexus angle.
ReplyDeleteWas there ever an apology for the whole hanging yourself deal?
ReplyDeleteWhat device are you using? My Apple TV does this with EVERY app but the Network works perfectly on every other device 99% of the time.
ReplyDeleteNope. Not that I really expected one. Oh, and obviously I am yet to hang myself.
ReplyDeleteThat thread got way out of hand. I think a defense was offered up, but I don't recall an apology in the comments I read.
ReplyDeleteUnpopular opinion alert...Hogan is an overrated promo guy. He was *generally* great at delivering those coked-up backstage segments in the 80's and he was *generally* great at delivering these arrogant heel promos as Hollywood but the key was that these were all on tape. In a live crowd environment, you have Hogan stumbling over his lines and losing the thread entirely.
ReplyDeleteThere are probably at least 50 guys I'd call better promos than Hulk Hogan in terms of actual content and delivery (though of course, Hogan's promos drew the most money of anyone save Austin).
My bad. He'd only sell 3/4 times Punk's stuff.
ReplyDeleteI primarily just use my laptop because it has seemed like the safest play. The XBox would freeze, too, and would take to long to navigate through (it did work great for Mania, however). But yeah, I'm going directly to their site on my laptop.
ReplyDeletewhen i lived in atlanta back in the 90's, i worked in a cd store. peabo bryson once came in and bought one of his own cd's
ReplyDeleteBourne High?
ReplyDeleteFor a FACT?
ReplyDeleteb/c all of his royalties go to paying off his mafia debt related to his faberge egg habit
ReplyDeleteThey should just have Kane keep tombstoning DB and Cena not helping him. I love that Cena never helps anyone in distress. Pan backstage and he's helping himself to catering or arguing with his Bella because she put her pink g-string in his whites hamper.
ReplyDeleteI think the fact that there haven't been anymore DDP Yoga threads is an apology... no that I had a problem with them (though I think daily would have been a bit much).
ReplyDeleteActually, after my first year of middle school I blessedly avoided bullying for the most part. It doesn't mean that I wasn't a dick at times and that I didn't bully people. That's part of growing up, you screw up and you learn. As for my vocabulary... I'm not trying to impress anyone.
ReplyDeleteI am a joy to hang out with! My friends and I love to tell jokes. Like this one, it's a real knee-slapper: So this medical caregiver of indeterminate gender--because nurses can be male or female--says to his or her disabled--or should I say, differently-abled--patient, 'Why do you have a penguin on your head? They're endangered!' Haaaa! (If you get that reference you're my new best friend).
Milwaukee's Best Ice, asshole. And PBR is a perfectly drinkable beer.
ReplyDeleteFact baby!
ReplyDeleteI have noticed in live raw threads though, anytime either Cena or Sheamus DID come to help Bryan in the past, there was a tone of "And heeere's Cena to leech off of Daniel Bryan's heat!" Sometimes WWE just can't win I guess.
ReplyDeleteRocky III should've been the original Brock-cena storyline -- Brock kills Cena at Extreme Rules, Cena goes into self-doubt after losing to Rock and Brock back-to-back, then returns at SummerSlam/Survivor Series and gets his win back over Brock, before moving onto Rock at Mania.
ReplyDeleteBut of course they cut the balls off Lesnar right away to get Cena a win that helped no one.
I think it makes an interesting character flaw to work with. They went into it when Ryback turned but never really went back to it. I mean, Kane is trying to murder DB and no one gives a fuck. lol
ReplyDeleteentirely off topic, but I just found out that Disturbed did a (REALLY good) cover of Judas Priest's Living After Midnight. I'm not the biggest Disturbed fan, but this is good shit.
ReplyDeleteI accept on his behalf from you
ReplyDeleteI'm still a bit pissed though that my CM Punk calculator (CM Punkulator?) didn't have a 7 or an 8.
ReplyDeleteI used to hate it, but I guess I've just gotten used to it, and now there's some beers (Flying Bison, various varieties of Sam Adams) that I drink for the taste, not the intoxicating properties. But even you have to admit that there's a big difference between something like Guinness and shit like Steel Reserve and Red Dog. If you can buy it in a 40, it's probably a shitty beer.
ReplyDeleteThey somewhat did part of the Rocky 3 storyline with Sid and Shawn Michaels back in 96-97. Shawn Michaels lost the title to Sid after Sid pushed Michaels's manager, seemingly causing him to have a heart attack, which distracted Michaels to the point where he got his ass kicked and lost the title. Shawn then had to get a tougher attitude to take on Sid again, which he did at the Royal Rumble 1997, and won back the title. How great would it have been if Bret Hart had been in the Apollo Creed role as the guy who Michaels/Rocky originally beat for the title, who comes back to train Michaels/Rocky in a new way so that he can beat Clubber/Sid? Unlike Michaels, though, I don't think Rocky ever gave up the title because he lost his smile.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was because he took all the money to got from franchising his name and bet against the Harlem Globetrotters.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how anyone could say 24/7is better than the Network.
ReplyDeleteThis really sounds like whining for the sake of it.
ReplyDeleteI guess if you want access to more content, you'll have to continue subscribing.
The only way your penis appears great is under a microscope. If I let you fuck me up the nose you'd still struggle to fill the available space.
ReplyDeleteat the moment, as the network stands
ReplyDeletewith 24/7, at any given time i could go to it and watch awa, nwa, wccw, mid-atlantic, prime time, mwn, wcw worldwide, stampede, random 1-off matches...
with network, i can watch ppv's i already own/have seen, raw/sd wrap-ups, and retrospectives that are nothing not a montage of commercially available stuff
pretty cut and dried, really
So pick, say, March for the general launch time, and then use September as the six-month point, and dole out a bunch of new material all month.
ReplyDeleteI think the problem is twofold for some:
ReplyDelete1) Some of the stuff they're releasing is not chronological, and in some cases, chronological footage DOES exist (WCCW, etc.).
2) Some of what they release is stuff no one could possibly want to watch. Why release a "Best of the Hall of Fame" series instead of just rolling out the full Hall of Fame ceremonies themselves? Just to create another opportunity for more talking heads segments where guys like The Miz talk about how great it was to see Nick Bockwinkel inducted because he used to watch him growing up? There's so much of ACTUAL interest they could be doing, when it comes to recycling old footage, that it beggars the imagination that this is what they choose to do.
With that said, I'm more than satisfied with what my subscription has gotten me so far. The back catalog of PPVs is more than enough to justify my money, for the moment.
Reality TV is just Pro-Wrestling for the 21st century.
ReplyDeleteA work that's managed to gain "legitimacy"
/thread
ReplyDeleteI think it's the first time in ten years that Orton's worn pants.
ReplyDeleteTorrents >>> Both of them
ReplyDeleteIv put enough of my money the last 15 years into this companies pocket. Vince doesn't need my $10
Wasn't 24/7 limited to what they were showing during that particular period? I ask as someone who never was able to subscribe to 24/7, so I honestly don't know,
ReplyDeleteI think you'll do well here.
ReplyDeleteReason number one and the reason why he is and forever will be a face.
ReplyDeleteBryan's gotta be #2, right?
Oh shit, Rocky is on Netflix now?
ReplyDeleteFUCK YEAH BAD NEWS BARRETT! That is all.
ReplyDeleteI loved 24/7 and subscribed for six years but yeah things would only be up for 30 days and there were one or two episodes at a time of those shows.
ReplyDeleteI think some people here over-reacted to the thread (if you don't want to read something, just skip it, unless you really feel the need to make snarky comments - that's sincere, by the way, sometimes it's necessary).
ReplyDeleteIt's probably best to stay away from it, though, at this point.
I'd like to see it used in a Bryan/Lesnar feud. Have Daniel holding a press conference dedicating a statue of himself to a new vegan health food store in Aberdeen. Lesnar shows up in black-face and tells Brie to come spend a night with a real man. It writes itself.
ReplyDeleteSome people think stealing is wrong.
ReplyDelete"This really sounds like whining for the sake of it"
ReplyDeleteA possible new catch-phrase for the blog! Right along with "The A+ Blog For the B+ Player!"
Well in real - life Bryan is pretty much his brother in-law so it SHOULD make sense to help him.
ReplyDeleteHas the Cena/Big boobed Bella relationship played out on RAW yet?
Also, some people aren't as good at stealing as others!
ReplyDeleteWhy is it ok to stereotyping all teaparty members? If I said all muslims own camels, all gays have aids, all wrestling fans live in their momma's basement, you'd be the first to cry out. The hypocrisy of liberalism...
ReplyDeleteYeah it is a shame. It clearly helps a lot of people and could have been helpful here... but Paul did all the shit he does that bothers people in the space of like an hour, and everyone, myself included, was apparently having a shitty day that day and kind of put a stink on the whole enterprise.
ReplyDeleteThey could also go the Rocky 4 route with Bryan. Alexander Rusev kills Bryan's friend/former opponent John Cena in the ring, so Bryan has to give up his title in order to have an unsanctioned match against Rusev in Rusev's homeland of Bulgaria! It writes itself!
ReplyDeleteRocky III is the fucking tits
ReplyDeleteHEY WOMAN! HEY WOMAN!
OK, so, yeah. By that criteria, I can't imagine 24/7 being better than the Network.
ReplyDeleteThe merchandise among many other reasons is why it will never happened. Too many IWC fantasy bookers cant grasp the business side of WWE.
ReplyDeleteClearly, everyone here has started to have their periods on the same cycle.
ReplyDeleteat any given time there was definitely an ep of ecw, prime time, worldwide, nwa, mnw (later just raw), and then at least 1 or 2 of mid-atlantic, wccw, awa, stampede
ReplyDeleteDAYUMN...
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
ReplyDeleteFYI: EXCELLENT hair day
Right, I meant one or two of each genre. Not an unlimited catalog, just clarifying that they didn't stay up for those that didn't have the service.
ReplyDeleteI thought Bryan looked choked up about something as he came down to the ring, and I just read why. Poor guy :(
ReplyDeleteIs Homewreckers Inc an alliance with me, or is it you building heat for the match you are going to lose next week?
ReplyDeleteFaith is a Fact.
ReplyDeleteOh good. I was starting to get worried because I didn't get an update about your hair yet.
ReplyDeleteYou know something, I just figured out how you bag so many married chicks. They want to experiment with some girl-on-girl action and clearly think you're a woman. Once they discover you're not a lesbian, they're too embarrassed to stop...
The "Best of WWF" volumes (I have all of them) that I have in my collection are some of the best tapes that I own in my collection. They are awesome to watch to see some of the older history of the company. Quite a few fun matches are scattered across those as well. Plus, they have the awesome Roman gladiators intro and music before you get to the action.
ReplyDeleteBlooper!
ReplyDeletePart alliance/part fact. (based off the threatening phone calls I got yesterday.)
ReplyDeleteElaborate!
ReplyDeleteThere is literally not one word in that post that is reality.
ReplyDeleteIt's a joke. Pull your almighty head out of your alright ass, autistic younger brother of Pitbull. Seriously, no chance you're not a crack baby
ReplyDeleteAnd I pity them
ReplyDeleteApparently an ex left her phone unlocked around her husband over the weekend and got my number. He left me a message saying, "He was going to come see me."
ReplyDeleteWhat? Oh, right. I've already moved on to await Vinson's response about his homewrecking.
ReplyDeleteThe on again off again ex?
ReplyDeleteI think the problem for some fans (like me) that have seen basically all the PPV stuff is that is that having all those PPV's is not a great pull (hence why I haven't subscribed). For newer fans that aren't tape collectors that's probably not the case, so I can see why they are liking the Network.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't as exciting as I was hoping for
ReplyDeleteNo. Ex from college.
ReplyDeleteAnd he is worried that some dude in her phone, whom she hasn't talked to in ages is a threat? Me must know of your legend...
ReplyDeleteRight? I'm a little disappointed.
ReplyDeleteBetter yet, they could actually interview all these old dudes and create their own version of "Biography" like A&E used to have. Have hour-long shows that chronicle the careers of guys like Bockwinkel. I know they have DVDs that do this already, but I'm talking about the guys who have never had a DVD. Even for some of the lower guys it would be interesting to see them profiled and such.
ReplyDeleteWell....they were on the verge of a divorce before he knew I existed.
ReplyDeleteMe knocking it down just gave him a face to be mad at.
Same. I guess we should just let it play out and see where it goes.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry about it, if he was going to start some shit he wouldn't give you a warning.
ReplyDeleteOh so you did stab them guts recently?
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll actually get a visit from the ex's husband. It's too early in the storyline to tell if he's going to end up buried.
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny. I know who he is, where he lives, his chick on the side, everything. He knows nothing about me.
ReplyDeleteThis. Total bitch move "I AM GOING TO SAY SOME REALLY MEAN WORD TO YOU! I HOPE YOU ARE SKEERED!"
ReplyDeleteRepeatedly and often, but they were separated.
ReplyDeleteIs it weird that we convert virtually everything into wrestling storyline terms?
ReplyDelete1-4 for sure. They are really kicking up their library.
ReplyDeleteAh well that barely counts then, this guy is clearly a punk
ReplyDeleteI'm just saying, if I'm going to come and fuck you up you won't know it until you're laying on your back.
ReplyDeleteI share your skepticism. Keep in mind that through some of their press releases, this company keeps talking about their "reality" programming. We saw that list a few weeks back of ripoff shows that are "reality" and feature WWE superstars (the funniest idea was them giving out financial advice - imagine them sending Ric Flair to a guy's business to give him advice on fixing the place). If they push that stuff over their archive I think they've got a big problem because "classic" wrestling fans are not getting this Network to see Legend's House.
ReplyDeleteExactly... he is basically a Bond villain at this point
ReplyDeleteSure you not thinking of me there?
ReplyDeleteIt's the only logical way to look at things. Especially on a wrestling blog.
ReplyDeletePlus, I like to think we're entertaining everyone else with our side conversations.
I hear there was going to be a CM Punk Home STI test, but it kept showing everything as positive.
ReplyDeleteYou can copy shows off the Network? Really?
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that a mid carder in a pointless feud is selling that much merchandise. Maybe it's time to give that Cena fellow a main event push.
ReplyDeleteExcept that one guy that was bitching about it the other day... but I concur, the side conversations are much greater than the topics (how many different ways can we discuss the same things?) and we are highly charismatic and entertaining. Especially me.
ReplyDeleteHe thinks I'm the reason they're getting a divorce.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I try to teach brazilkid is that if you are relatively cool with ex-girfriend's you can have something to go back to in a drought. It should concern him more that she sough me out when things went wrong.
No. Vinson has one of those as well... doesn't get under his skin the ways yours does to you (or he doesn't let on if he does) though.
ReplyDeleteOr it sounds like paying customers asking for what they were told they'd be given in a timely fashion.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is how random non-wrestling fans feel when they see wrestling fans wearing any wrestler's merch?
ReplyDeleteSome people live vicariously through us.
ReplyDeleteI think they will... at some point. Regal was talking about doing an extensive interview about his career for a biographic show (on Twitter a couple months ago). But they still just sit on so much and have a bare bones operation running the programming department of the network.
ReplyDeleteNo I get under her skin
ReplyDeleteHey-YOooooooooooooo!!!
OK, gotcha. And for the record, you can fucking have her.
ReplyDeleteYup. Your last sentence is why I never feel guilty about what I do. I've never made anyone do anything they didn't want to. If she was willing there were problems to begin with.
ReplyDeleteI still don't know what that dude's problem was. If everyone here was able to have as much fun with this blog comment sections as we clearly do, there would be a lot less instances of someone telling someone else to go hang themselves.
ReplyDeleteIve always liked the idea of a rankings system to give fans an idea about who's in line for title shots (loved that SD2 for the PS1 had this in its season mode). It would make more sense seeing a contender make his way up the list as opposed to the usual "Ive lost most of my matches in the last four months but now I get a title shot because I assaulted you during a promo". I mean, theres a reason to have the Power 25 right there.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I found Punk boring as shit and agree that nobody ever really SHOULD win as the 1 in a 3-on-1, at least with Punk, it was sold as Punk (a guy who was known for being a smart wrestler) noticing that he had to divide the Shield to conquer them.
ReplyDeleteWhen Cena does it, it's just because he's so damn strong and EVEN TOUGHER HUSTLE LOYALTY RESPECT SOME PEOPLE BOO ME SOME PEOPLE CHEER ME IT'S HOT IN HERE TONIGHT BUT YOU BOUGHT A TICKET FREEDOM OF SPEECH GOD BLESS THE TROOPS HAVE A SAFE DRIVE HOME
Agreed again. This comments section has been very helpful to me in keeping my mind occupied and entertained over the ladt year or so, I get why it might be annoying to some, but I don't see why it was THAT offensive.
ReplyDeletedraiman is king douche
ReplyDeleteI don't want her, but thanks. I just know from you've told me that she has a way of pushing your buttons. I've been there before so I can relate.
ReplyDelete"This is a wrestling blog! We must only ever talk about wrestling and wrestling-related subjects!" Dullsville. What are we, nerds?
ReplyDeleteExactly... how many different ways can we possibly discuss the same thing over and over again?
ReplyDeleteHell, they could do the Rocky 5 storyline with Bryan, Reigns, and HHH. Bryan is hurt for some reason and can't compete for awhile, so he takes on a protégé, Reigns. Everything's going great until Reigns gets jealous because the people still want to see Bryan compete, so Reigns sells his soul to HHH in order to get speeded up the ranks to a title shot quicker. Reigns wins the title, but the people think he's a paper champion, so HHH orders Reigns to take out Bryan to prove he's the best. Bryan then, still injured and all, takes on Reigns in a street fight, and, ultimately, with the spirit of Shawn Michaels in his mind telling him to "Get up you son of a bitch! Because Shawn Michaels loves ya!", Bryan defeats Reigns.
ReplyDeleteI just know how you have a thing for dicking down other people's chicks. We were never married, but we were engaged at one point, close enough.
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest: Some of us here are cool enough with each other that we talk about things other than wrestling.
ReplyDelete
