The following matches were set up during last night's NXT tapings:

-Adrian Neville vs. Sami Zayn for the NXT Championship (if Zayn loses he will leave WWE)
-Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks for the NXT Women's Championship
-The Lucha Dragons vs. The Vaudevillains for the NXT Tag Team Championship
-Hideo Itami/Finn Balor vs. The Ascension

The show is set for 12/11/14 on the WWE Network.

WWE Hiring New Social Media Manager

Per PWInsider, Cody Barbierri, WWE Social Media Manager, is gone from the company. There is a job posting on WWE.com seeking to fill that position. Barbierri was the individual that was slapped by Alberto Del Rio for refusing to apologize for a comment that Del Rio thought was racist. Del Rio was fired from the company for the incident.

Edge and Christian Reuniting?

Christian will begin to appear in the SyFy series Haven beginning 11/28. He will be playing a character named McHugh. It is a recurring role, and he will be in at least two more episodes in 2015. Here is a tweet from Edge on the matter:

Global Force Wrestling TV Update

Per PWInsider, Jeff Jarrett's GFW is still looking for potential TV partners. They are also in talks with three different Las Vegas venues for a site for the tapings.

What are the odds Sami Zayn loses the match for his career and then comes back under a mask?

    ReplyDelete
  2. The NXT stuff contains spoilers,yo.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Spolier: what happens in NXT doesn't matter.

    ReplyDelete
  4. HERE WE GO VAUDEVILLAINS HERE WE GO!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I think he will wrestle on house shows as Sammy Zayn.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Dammit somebody call Sami a yellow dog!

    ReplyDelete
  7. HHH is bankrupting the company with this stupid NXT shit, creating gimmicks that get over in front of 200 Florida yokels and nowhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  8. So who did WWE side with in the Del Rio incident? I have a feeling they just saw it as an excuse to cut Del Rio and save some money, since he was probably leaving anyway. A penny saved is a penny earned!

    ReplyDelete
  9. The success rate has been awful for NXT guys. Plus, the WWE main roster is hurting right now so why didn't they just bring up K-ENTA, Steen, and Devitt immediately? It's not like they can't "learn on the fly" during 5-10 minute RAW matches and work on it outside of the ring during the other 6 days of the week. Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville still being in NXT is awful as well. CALL THEM UP ALREADY! I'd like to think that it is Vince that isn't calling these guys up yet and Triple H wants to.

    ReplyDelete
  10. "But who's side are they on?!"

    ReplyDelete
  11. NOT YOURSSSSSSSS

    ReplyDelete
  12. This is WWE not TNA, they can afford to have shows the other six days of the week.

    ReplyDelete
  13. AverageJoeEverymanOctober 24, 2014 at 7:56 AM

Vince: "Bobby what the HELL are you doing here!! And how are you talking?"

    ReplyDelete
  14. The Shield is waving from behind them.

    ReplyDelete
  15. *slams casket on your fingers*

    ReplyDelete
  16. Listening to Run The Jewels 2. Hoo boy, this track with Zach De la Rocha. He's still awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  17. "Hey ma! Look at that there little Japoneez fella!"

    ReplyDelete
  18. Doesn't help that Kevin Dunn is trying to sabotage them all.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Bo Dallas is a great comedy mid card gimmick too. Just because Adam Rose didn't get Austin like ovations doesn't mean NXT is a failure.

    ReplyDelete
  20. People keep saying that. I have to grab that i guess.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hey, if Cletus's entire family was in attendance, they could sell out the Super Dome!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ambrose/Rollins were FCW for the most part, Reigns wasn't even wrestling for that long before getting called up. Wyatts have been off TV for awhile now and Bray's stock has dropped incredibly since his feud with Cena.

Rusev is one loss away from being done. Big E is jobbing in the midcard on Main Event and RAW every week. Adam Rose was awful to begin with and his mascot is more over than he is.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Is it the characters or the WWE writing? Nobody's getting over unless they just leap off the screen (Ambrose, Sandow).

    ReplyDelete
  24. And Seth Rollins!

    ReplyDelete
  25. How is any of that incorrect? Foreign guys with undefeated streaks do not bode well after their first loss (See Kozlov). What else do you disagree with? Please, enlighten me. The Wyatts thing?

    ReplyDelete
  26. The seven people who still have the network are gonna be really upset.

    ReplyDelete
  27. My favorite part is "This guy is undefeated, but if he eventually loses, then he will be ruined".

    ReplyDelete
  28. NBA TJ. Too bad about Nash. I guess the Lakers might keep him around as the highest paid assistant in the league. I dont see it. Byron Scott doesnt exactly have the same offensive philosophy and Nash isnt exactly a great defensive mind. I bet next year hes back with the Suns somewhere in the front office. Director of player development or something, working with the Bledsoe, Thomas and Dragic.

    ReplyDelete
  29. WWE does the undefeated streak gimmick all the time. Name one guy that had one that was a success in the last 5 years.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The more I think of it, it was an incredible blessing in disguise for the Raptors that Nash didn't choose them.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I like that you want them to "learn on the fly" like Mistico.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hey, he's got divas to bang and his schedule is very busy

    ReplyDelete
  33. If he does have a thing going with Alicia Fox, then I am jealous of him forevah.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's more the booking than the talent or gimmick. Everyone is trained to know that once the streak is over the talent no longer matters.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Stranger in the AlpsOctober 24, 2014 at 8:04 AM

The taping results are widely available, and it's setting up the card for a live show where the results are not known because it hasn't happened yet.
    .
Also, it's a rather light news morning.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Lucha is MUCH different than the Puro style or Indy style. Plus, there was a lot of backstage stuff that got Mistico fired (i.e. not wanting to learn English)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'd like to see him take a job with Canada Basketball.

    ReplyDelete
  38. So you are saying the fans are "trained"? LOL come on. What an awful defense.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Im pretty sure hes already the GM.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The willful ignorance of the first NXT champions pretty amazing too.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Defense of what? Fans don't get behind undefeated streaks with new guys because they never go anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Zayn and Neville had a title match last night that was taped for future shows.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Beyond ceremony, to maybe help coach and do player development.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Goldberg's sure worked.

    ReplyDelete
  45. ??? Rollins? He was 95% FCW.

    ReplyDelete
  46. No kidding, its not like those 3 guys are green or something. They've been working longer than a good portion of the current roster im sure

    ReplyDelete
  47. That was also 15 years ago when there were far fewer streak gimmicks. Goldberg also worked his way through the ranks and was dominant before winning the title. It went somewhere. What is the last undefeated streak that went somewhere?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Just like how TNA's roster is 95% 2006 Smackdown?

    ReplyDelete
  49. A very small percentage of heterosexual men/gay women wouldn't be jealous.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm sure they can hang in the ring, but I'd hate to see them out until that crack collective WWE Creative has something clear in mind for them, otherwise they'll just be out there jobbing to the same people each week.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Did they say Zayn will quit WWE if he loses, or quit NXT? Very different things, as the latter could be a way to bring him to the main roster. I had read "leave NXT" as the wording before.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Stranger in the AlpsOctober 24, 2014 at 8:14 AM

The report I saw said WWE. So that's what I used. Another report I saw said that he just leaves. So, interpret it as you see fit, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  53. What are the odds that Kevin Steen is the one who costs him that match?

    ReplyDelete
  54. ... Kevin Nash?

    (I don't watch basketball.)

    ReplyDelete
  55. It would take some serious balls to book that but it would be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Asking honestly, because I wasn't following this stuff a few years ago: Who are the NXT success stories? I know you've got the 3 Shield members, Wyatt, Cesaro to an extent. Anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Captain America's. Non-Registration.

    ReplyDelete
  58. If Nash was healthy and able to do his dribble penetration thing, then his offense might have fit in with Scott's supposed philosophy of "no 3's". Nash's pick and rolls were highly effective, and it would have still been really good even he wasn't kicking it out to the 3pt line.

Lin is a really good pick 'n roll player as well (which is why Linsanity happened), so he fits in with Nash's offensive game. And since he doesn't play much defense either, he'll fit in with Nash's defensive as well!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Such a terrible crossover...

    ReplyDelete
  60. Fandango got a match with Jericho!

    ReplyDelete
  61. If the truly are planning on a 40-man Rumble next year, I hope they're going to either call up a bunch of NXT guys or have NXT integrated into the match. Because they only have 42 active wrestlers on the WWE roster (not including long-term injury guys like Bryan or Reigns) and about a dozen of those are total scrubs like Otunga and Ryder and Woods.

If they're not going to completely overload that match with surprise entrants and new blood, it's going to be a rough hour-plus.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Quick, someone name me a better tag team then the Young Bucks

    ReplyDelete
  63. Young Stallions > Young Bucks. (ok, ok, i don't even know who they are. it just felt like a good comment)

    ReplyDelete
  64. [Buzzer for #33 goes off. The picture starts to shake.]

    Cole: It's the cameraman!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I think the company needs to hire someone from E! or Bravo to be the new Social Media Manager. Nobody with a wrestling background or is a fan either. Also Vince we need more dancing black guys on NXT to gain more network subscribers. Tell Paul to get on that.

    -Kevin Dunn.

    ReplyDelete
  66. WWE Creative. They can barely book the main roster. Hell, I'd argue they can't, given how many guys aren't even on TV right now, or relegated to random matches on Superstars & Main Event. Bring in an NXT guy and Creative has no ideas for them. Remember when they did that NXT tag match on RAW, and Adrian Neville pulled out the Reed Arrow and the crowd lost its shit? So of course they haven't had them back on since. I think WWE forgets that sometimes you can just do a match here and there and it not have to be part of a whacky ongoing storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Not joking: That would be fucking awesome.

Can you imagine introducing a new character that way? A disgruntled camera man who got tired of watching these guys day in and day out, knowing in his heart that he could really compete with them. So he secretly got himself entered in the Rumble. And the best part is he can either be a plucky underdog or a delusional heel.

Great fucking idea. Too bad it torpedoes any chance of you ever being hired by Creative because it's actually logical and fun and different.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Funny, wrestlers on RAW almost always have a match here and there, and the main complaint is that it's not tied to an intricate storyline, and therefore it is pointless and "why are they fighting?" .

    ReplyDelete
  69. Guys named Nash have a knack for scamming untold millions from their employer without actually doing anything for it.

    ReplyDelete
  70. While having incredible hair, whether it's awesome, or just bizarre.

    ReplyDelete
  71. That Rumble where the 3 announcers were in, including Michael Cole was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  72. WHO BETTAH THAN THE YOUNG BUCKS??

    EVERYBODY!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. It could even be a fun feud with a heel that isn't doing anything. Have, oh, Fandango just keep giving the poor guy shit for a couple months, the cameraman comes in, they tussle over the ropes and brawl to the back.

    ReplyDelete
  74. No, they have a Best Of Some Stupid Number Series of matches that leads nowhere.

Ziggler/Slater as a one-off to show "Hey, Ziggler's actually good" is a good idea. Ziggler/Cesaro Part 2314, no matter how many stars it gets, is a good match, bad idea when Part 2315 is coming in six days. And Part 2315 the night after that.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Sounds a bit like Harvey and the Fink, that led to the epic tuxedo match.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Still active (whether as a team or as individuals)?

Bad Influence, Beer Money (IF they were to reunite), Dusts, Shield (see: Beer Money), and a bunch I cannot remember right now.

No longer active? Bret Hart's list of wrestlers better than HHH is but a mere post-it note compared to THAT list.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I can move perfectly well, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  78. But it's the rubber match!!!!! For all da marbles!

    ReplyDelete
  79. That was a fun feud. We need more things like that.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Well Dunn! (another tag team better than The Young Bucks)

    ReplyDelete
  81. I was looking forward to watching Nash, Lin and Nick Young try to appear to try to play defense.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Will Lemmy be singing the Evolution song?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Watching old Nitros from 1995, it's pretty striking how WCW got a lot of new guys over very quickly (and got them over strong) just by having them wrestle good matches every week. For guys who were unknown to most people before Nitro launched, Dean and Eddy and Benoit and others were featured heavily almost every week at the beginning. And it worked.

    ReplyDelete
  84. And also, in the most ironic moment in wrestling history, the cameras completely miss all his eliminations because they happen where he was supposed to be filming

    ReplyDelete
  85. I think that's it.
    Still, 6 isn't bad for a 3 year period.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Remember that Jim Dotson security guy around 1999? He looked like a badass, and I was sure he was gonna have a match. But they just forgot about him it seems.

    ReplyDelete
  87. *LIVE* from the KOA on the Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada it's Global Force Wrestling!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Meant active, obviously Steiner Bros. would shut down any discussion at that point.

Cant agree with Bad Influence at this point in their careers, same with Beer Money, Shield is inactive, nope on the Dust brothers as well.

    Just my opinion

No, not the gross Kiss Vince's Ass Club, the Spend an Hour in the Crossface Chicken Wing Club.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I think Steen is going to join up with Itami and Balor
    (SPOILER)

Balor said that the Ascension are going to see something they have never seen before at the tapings.
I would have Steen come out to help Itami and Balor win, and then all three of them attack Sami after he wins the title to be the new ultra NXT Heel group,

    ReplyDelete
  92. They were setting up a program with him and Blackman. Considering some of the slugs they consistently roll out, that guy must have been totally hopeless for them to have abandoned the idea as quickly as they did.

    ReplyDelete
  93. davidbonzaisaldanamontgomeryOctober 24, 2014 at 9:01 AM

We'll still have Kobe and Swaggy P trying to outshoot each other

    ReplyDelete
  94. That tag team was based on Vince's and I's relationship.

    -KD

    ReplyDelete
  95. To me, the problem is there are often good matches on RAW, but the booking is rarely very strong. Those two things need to go hand in hand. As many have pointed out, the 50/50 stuff is pretty detrimental.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I see no problem with using them to lose matches if you actually allow them to look competitive. Take the Sheamus & Cesaro "feud"... after you set up that Cesaro wants the belt, instead of having those two wrestle each other over and over again in singles, tag & six-man matches, have them each face an NXT guy in a competitive 5 or 6 minute match. Your main guys look strong in preparation for their title bout, while your enhancement talent looks respectable and you might end up with all four guys being over. And supposing they were going to have Cesaro win the US belt from Sheamus, and he had that solid match en route with let's say Sami Zayn, then you've got a logical next opponent lined up for Cesaro. Simple competitive matches, clean finishes--the matches themselves write the booking.

Which is probably why Creative doesn't do it. Whoever's at that table needs to justify their position.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Sweet baby Jesus, I love The Vaudevillains.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I didn't think about that...50/50 odds that Kobe chokes him at midcourt before the end of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Me, too, but that's a gimmick just begging to tank on Raw.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I need this to happen, for logic's sake. So it won't.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I fully agree that it's filler matches. I guess my expectations are just lower and more realistic than most, so it doesn't bother me. I am perfectly fine with RAWS that tread water (which is one of the reasons why I skip most of them. I just don't get riled up about it)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Did they have a ROH feud or something? I know very little about their backgrounds.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I remember him basically daring Chyna to attack him once too. That didn't lead anywhere either.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Aiden English on his own could do okay singing his way to the ring, but Gotch might be better as a second.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I don't know about that... speaking for myself I just dislike the way they will take two guys seemingly at random and act like they are in the midst of a bitter feud. It's like "oh these guys hate each other now." Really? Because they've never wrestled before. And the follow-up is to have them wrestle five more times leading up to a match that somehow is supposed to be more important than the previous six. And because they split the wins leading up to it, neither guy is elevated above the other regardless of who wins that final match. Repeat that a hundred times and you have the entire WWE midcard.

    ReplyDelete
  106. so you are saying... there might be some 50/50 booking going on????

    ReplyDelete
  107. Maybe reDRagon.

    Maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Given the choice between a Bucks or a Dusts match you'd take the Dusts?

    Do you hate fun?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Worst_in_the_WorldOctober 24, 2014 at 9:24 AM

Is that the 2012 one? I remember that being a pretty awful Rumble actually, other than the Sheamus/Jericho match at the end. Roster was thin as fuck and it was an entire Rumble of comedy spots.

2013, despite the boring result of Cena winning, was pretty awesome though.

And last year was the most fascinating Rumble match ever.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Yep, maybe for the wrong reasons, but it was memorable for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  113. End of the season is very generous. Kobe might give Nick Young a month before telling the team not to pass to Young.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Worst_in_the_WorldOctober 24, 2014 at 9:52 AM

To be honest, I do hope GFW turns out to be something worthwhile. Hopefully Jeff learned something from TNA and this time stays completely behind the scenes--- no wrestling, not being the heel GM. Just strike up some deals with other promotions, put a decent little roster together. Fingers crossed.

    ReplyDelete
  140. "Yep Mode" ABeyAnce1©October 24, 2014 at 9:52 AM

From the little clips I've seen, PWG looks pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  141. That'd be perfect. The glory days of the NWA had no big heel promoter guy. If he wants to be a JJ Dillon type than I am fine with that.

  157. Kurt doesn’t steal. That would violate an “I”.

    He inherited the music.

  158. Those guys, with the very arguable exception of Bray Wyatt, were FCW rather than NXT guys.

  159. Are you kidding? Vince Russo is the cockroach of professional wrestling. He'll ALWAYS be around!

  160. haha, the Four I's!!

  161. Also the Giants are jerks and everyone hates them.

  162. Hunter said on Austin's podcast that he was told since Solie was drunk during the interview that he starts to go down "Clothesline him and get some heat".

  163. Something tells me The Wyatts II co-starring The Ascension won't have the same effect as the original.

  164. I'm pretty sure they were supposed to face the Smoking Gunns at the Royal Rumble before Sid disappeared.

Honestly, I feel that if Wyatt brought up a back story about Husky Harris, he would have survived longer.

E&C better make a 5 second pose reference on the show.

  167. For the benefit of those with Smart phones and Ipads?

Their line should be like Seinfeld, survives any decade.

  169. I liked Rocky 5 but the Kid kills it for me. He's just awful and the really bad "Go For It" thing shoe horned in.

But the idea of a down and out Rocky training the next big thing only to lose him the greedy and slimy promoters is a good one.

  170. I rewatched a bunch of episodes just last year, and one thing doesn't age well. At least 7 episodes would not have had any issue at all if they all had cell phones. There were lots of plots involved them not being able to find/locate each other.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Yeah there were tons specifically the one where they go to Susan's dad's cabin and they lose each other on the freeway.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Or the Chinese Restaraunt with George's whole plot being about waiting for the pay phone.

    ReplyDelete
  173. In house, it was originally for the Patriot.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Yep, and the underground parking and the movie theatre also, off the top of my head. And the bubble boy (unless that's the same episode as the cabin)

  175. Do you think you'd enjoy current WWE more if the internet were never invented?

    ReplyDelete
  176. I have always said that I enjoyed the 2001 invasion angle, mostly cause I moved a few times during that period, and had little to no internet access. So I wasn't aware that I was supposed to hate it until after the fact.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I don't think I'd enjoy it at all if it weren't for the internet right now.

    ReplyDelete
  178. I don't want to start a whole InVasion thing again... but the angle itself was great, made for great TV, and outstanding matches.

It wasn't exactly what we all dreamed of, and that's why it gets shit on.

  179. Triple H supposedly told him they would Daniel Bryan him (fire him, keep an eye on him, bring him back once things died down), but considering that really, BOTH guys should have been fired, I don't blame Del Rio for telling them to get fucked.
