"Brodus Clay's new Funkasaurus gimmick has been put on hold, according
to the Wrestling Globe newsletter. WWE head Vince McMahon reportedly
believes Clay's in-ring work needs to improve. Clay in a match against
Heath Slater was cut from Smackdown earlier this month, and Clay has
not appeared on WWE TV since the January 30 Raw."
I feel like creative had an underpants gnomes moment with Clay, where they were like “Squash jobbers, ????, Profit!” and couldn’t figure out what to do with him once he got past the upper echelon of cannon fodder. Who knows if “needs to improve his in-ring work” is code for something else, either.
Oh well, he was fun while he lasted.
