Sabu Hospitalized Again

http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-stories/118-daily-updates/25385-sabu-hospitalized-extreme-reunion-notes

Sabu was in pretty bad shape before he resurrected his career with ECW 2.0 in 2006, so hopefully this isn't a return to that state for him.

Comments

  1. Sabu was in some documentary from a few years ago talking about how he really needs to retire, and he's still going. Between his style that probably leads to a lot of injuries and the fact that he probably gets loaded every time he's out on the road, he's really burning the candle at both ends. I'd hope to see him hang his boots up before he's another casualty.

Of course I'm a hypocrite because if he was booked on an indie near me, I'd totally go to see him.

  2. I don't think that'd make you a hypocrite.  It is Sabu's decision to still wrestle and an indy fed isn't going to say "Nah, let's not book him because he's broken down".

  3. Sort of a threadjack but I was reading the live results of Extreme Reunion and apparently Raven brought out a legitimately handicapped man and called him "Cripple H" and starting calling the fans there homophobic slurs.

And I seriously thought this whole event couldn't get any worse.

  4.  Case in point: that dude who insisted on sending Scott Hall out to the ring when Hall was near death.

  5. Other notes from the article: Justin Credible passed out backstage. I don't even want to know what kind of drugs are being passed around.

"Women in the crowd having been flashing their boobs." Um...there are women at these shows? Forgive me, but I bet I don't want to see their boobs.

  6. I think it's funny how the article mentioned Justin Credible getting bounced from backstage, like anyone gives a shit. The fans chanting "End the show!" is pretty hilarious, first I've heard so a show sucking so bad that that happened, as far as I know.

Isn't Shane Douglas booking this show? If so, that would explain everything.

  7. Haven't they already got a follow-up show planned for June or something because they thought this show was going to launch a new federation?

    ReplyDelete
  8. That must have been why they switched Jerry Lynn's opponent to Crowbar.

I know the show would be bad but I had no idea just HOW bad.

  9.  Funny that Shane was also booed out of the building. In an industry made of burned bridges, he has somehow burned the most.

And if you're so bored you're chanting "end the show"...why not just leave?

  10. They most likely wouldn't get a refund if they left and if they stick around, they can get their frustrations out. I'm just guessing, of course.

  11. The Jerry Lynn/Crowbar match managed to turn the mood of the crowd more positive.  Didn't last of course.

  12. They paid their money, they can stay and chant. Also, if they are serious about starting a new promotion, the people backstage needed to hear what the crowd was watching was garbage and they wouldn't be paying for it again. Would leaving early have sent the same message? Eh, maybe. More likely than not Shane Douglas will get on YouTube bitching about the fans. Remember, nothing is ever his fault.

  13.  Don't worry he'll find a way to blame Flair..

  14. Wow, this crowd sounds like complete douchebags. Sure, let's pay to go watch a show and chant stupid shit like 'Just retire' and 'End this show'. And yes, the show sounds like a complete train wreck, but it doesn't sound like the crowd gave it much of a chance. Apparently they were chanting 'Fuck you both' during the opening matches. And it's not Shane's fault that Sabu messed himself up and couldn't work the show as advertised. Chant 'Fuck Sabu' then!

  16. Raven is still awesome. It's too bad he burned his bridges with the lawsuit.

  17. anyone got the link to the live results for the extreme reunion ppv?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well, I'll give Shane credit for one thing: it sounds like has put on an ECW show that managed to be a bigger disaster than December to Dismember and I didn't think that was possible!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Maybe this atrocity will finally put an end to these attempts to revive ECW with a bunch of broken down addicts. It's time to let it go.

  20. here you go but it's spread over 4 pages: http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/4961/full-extreme-reunion-results-a-total-disaster

  21. Sabu and Credible getting fucked up was regrettable, but it happened and they just had to roll with it, and I think in both cases they were replaced by more capable workers anyway. Tracy Smothers was kind of unprofessional for bailing on the show after taking the booking, but nobody really missed him I'd imagine. But, seriously, Raven can fuck himself. Not that this show was any great shakes or such an amazing idea to begin with, but you took the booking, let tickets get sold on the promise of seeing you wrestle, and then pissed all over the show and didn't even get involved. And obviously Douglas and whoever in the back knew that that was Raven's plan, so fuck them for letting it go on like that. I'd be really pissed if I wanted to see Raven wrestle or at least cut a decent promo and all he did was come out and talk shit, and then stand around while other people worked.

  22. Yeah, that was tough to watch. Although Hall's punches in that inebriated/walking coma state were still better than John Cena's.

  23. The bait and switch on Raven's part was more a ploy to build towards the next show since Douglas thought this would start an entire promotion.  I don't think Raven's that much of a douche.  I've been lurking on his website since the early '00s and he's generally a pretty agreeable guy when it comes to the ECW fanbase.

  24. marks for themselves....

  25. The opening match involved two guys the crowd had never seen before nor were involved in the original ECW in any way.  If I go to an "ECW reunion show" I'd expect to see, ya know, ECW WRESTLERS.

  27. Tell me the fans at least got to lick beer out of Sandman's navel?

  28. This is a pretty good column about the show: http://www.cagesideseats.com/2012/4/29/2986140/shane-douglas-extreme-reunion-the-night-ecw-should-be-erased-for-good
